Mplayer does not like fullscreen after Xorg7 upgrade

Now I seen to have my system back up, but when I try to view some video files with mplayer in fullscreen, it won't work. The mplayer window goes fullscreen, but the image itself stays the same. I can't see any errors in the output in the console windows that I started mplayer from ... could it just be that the fglrx driver can't do this, or is it maybe something else that causes this?

i also had this (or a very similar) problem with mplayer after using xorg 7.0. i resized a video to fullscreen, which worked fine, but when i went back to "normal" size the video's box flickered for a second in "normal" size and disappeared...while mplayer continued playing it (or the sound atleast) without the video part showing up. i tried all of the different video plugins (gl, gl2, xv, xvidx,...) to no avail. i deleted the ~/.mplayer/ folder too hoping that it was a config file problem or something and that didn't work. i then uninstalled it and reinstalled it...still nothing.
i've since switched to xine...it works just as well, works in normal and fullscreen perfectly fine, and gives me no problems at all

[SOLVED] Gnome does not mount ipod after system upgrade

I did a system upgrade today (2009.12.04) and now gnome does not mount my ipod video (gnome used to mount the ipod without problems before de upgrade).
Here is some information about the system messages:

Finally found the problem was the Ipod itself. After a soft reset everything worked again.

M476dn does not go sleep after firmware upgrade

I bought HP color laser jet M476dn few weeks ago - noticed that it does not wake up when trying to print, searched HP website and found that HP had an upgrade firmware to fix that issue. Now the printer does not even go sleep even though the setting is to go sleep after 15 min - the power off was defaulted to never.
The previous firmware version was 20140128 and upgraded to 20140614 (I think) - am I missing something here?

WiFi does not stay connected after latest upgrade

I am having an issue with the WiFi connection on my Iphone 4 after the latest 4.3 upgrade.
It does not stay connected to the wifi. I have to go and manually connect to it.
Then after a couple of seconds it loses it again.
Why is this

Been there, done that... Did ALL these steps, but that does not fix the problem... AFTER inputting the SSID manually, selecting security, and then the password, iPhone STILL says it cannot connect...

Irssi does not start (probably after perl upgrade)

I've been using irssi for a while, but now it doesn't start anymore, like this

It just quits without any kind of error message.
I think it stopped working after opgrading the perl package (5.8.8-9 -> 5.8.8-10) and rebuilding from ABS fails.
Do anyone have any idea why irssi is quietly exits (and how to fix it?)
EDIT: downgrading perl package (from testing) "solved" it, submitted a bug report to flyspray.

Rebuilding irssi from abs/aur fix this for me.....
Although url launcher (matcher) seems to not work again.

IPhoto does not respond even after I upgraded to iLife '11 version

Every time that I attempt to open up iPhoto it immediately freezes, and all the sites and manuals I have read say that I need to reinstall the program, I need to upgrade to the '11 version anyway (I had the '09 version I think) so I just bought the upgrade from the app store hoping that would fix the issue. Now it does open for two seconds, then says that I need to upgrade my library. I click ok and then it freezes up again. I am beyond frustrated and could really use the help, thanks!

Apple has hardware repair services, on repairable hardware. Apple just doesn't repair iPads, from day one Apple has always replaced iPads, either under warranty or as a reduced cost out-of-warranty purchase.

My iMac does not start up after Mavericks upgrade

Hi,
I have a 2010 27" iMac with OSX.6.8 (if I remember well). Yesterday, I made a backup on an external drive with Time Machine, I downloaded Mavericks, proceeded to installation and when it restarted it got stuck on the grey screen.
I've tried every procedure from the Apple support, nothing worked.
Please help. I'm not living close to an Apple store and I'd love to figure this out by myself.

Has this iMac gone without AC power for extented periods?
If so likely the PRAM Battery is dead.
Couple of things to try...
Hold alt key at bootup, what boot options show up?
Bootup holding CMD+r, or the Option/alt key to boot from the Restore partition & use Disk Utility from there to Repair the Disk, then Repair Permissions.
Have you done a PRAM reset, CMD+Option+p+r...

IPhoto does not start up after upgrading

On my new iMac iPhoto does not start up after migrating. Upgrade from iPhoto 6/Snow Leopard > Lion 10.7.1 with iPhoto 9.1.5. When the conversion is finished I can see the new library, it works allright. And with packet-inspection (or how is that called in English) all maps & data seems to be OK; I can check the seperate pics.
But: iPhoto won't start up a second time (grey screen with infinite spinning wait cursor). The same thing is happening when I add a new library and drop in some pictures.
What can cause this problem?

Option 1
Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Choose to Rebuild iPhoto Library Database from automatic backup.
If that fails:
Option 2
Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. This will create a new library based on data in the albumdata.xml file. Not everything will be brought over - no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your albums and keywords back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one. .

My iphone 5 does not ring anymore after upgrading to ios 7.0.2. It did not happen right away, but maybe 2 weeks ago. I tried turning the "do not disturb" on and add allow everyone to call as well as turning it off but it only vibrates when calls come in. I also turned my phone off and it still only vibrates when calls and messages come in.

I found another feed and said there is a silent button next to volume bar. That was the problem.

I too have experienced the Logitech s715i error message stating something like, the accessory is not a supported device of the iPhone. The speakers will charge my phone but will not "connect" to play music. I have an iPhone 4S running version 6.1 (10B142).
I too have contacted Logitech for support and am awaiting a reply.

Wireless network does not automatically reconnect after sleep

I have a Belkin wireless G+ mimo modem router network. When I wake the mac from sleep it does not automatically reconnect to my wireless network and i have to manually select the network from the airport icon in the menu bar and then it connects without having to reenter my secure password. How do i set the mac to auto connect to the network after sleep? There are about 6 other wireless networks in range which may be effecting this reconnection.

In may case the network was already at the top of the preferred networks list.
Based of of a hint over at MacOSXhints.com, here's how I fixed this problem:
1. In the Network references pane, delete the Airport connection that does not like to reconnect.
2. Click Apply and Quit the System Prefs app.
3. Put the computer to sleep.
4. Wake the computer.
5. Go back in to the Network pref pane and re-add the Airport connection. Do not try to connect to the network at this time.
6. Click Apply and Quit the System Prefs app.
7. Use the Airport menubar app to connect to your network.
8. Verify connectivity
9. Put the computer to sleep.
10. Wake the computer.
11. Verify connectivity
My machine now consistently reconnects when coming out of sleep or restarting.

Bitcoin-QT does not like UTC

Hey Archers! This is my first post on here, but I've been using Arch on and off since 2011... just goes to show how good the wiki is lol
Anyway, I'm dual booting Windows 8 (work reasons, unfortunatley) and Arch, so as the wiki suggested, I set both operating systems to use UTC. I originally thought it worked like a charm, but after firing up my Bitcoin wallet (in Arch) I soon discovered it isn't syncing with the network in UTC. If I switch back to America/New_York, everything still works great again. How would I make the bitcoin-qt client work with UTC?
Here is what I did to set UTC:
ln -sf /usr/share/zoneinfo/UTC /etc/localtime
And then I tried reindexing the blocks like so:
bitcoin-qt -reindex
But I haven't had any luck

That's odd, we must be reading different wiki pages then, on both the Installation Guide and Time wiki pages, it says the timezone can be set by making a symlink at /etc/localtime that points to the desired zone. Regardless, I checked the hardware clock, and it seems to be set correctly...

So it is definately set in UTC at the correct time. I'm thinking Bitcoin-QT does not like UTC for some reason. The time itself seems to be fine because Windows and Arch both have the same time after either windows or Arch syncs time over the internet.

E72 notifcation light does not stop blinking after...

After receiving an SMS my E72 sometimes keeps blinking the light even after reading it/deleting it. It's as if the notification gets "stuck". It also happens with calls but less often.
This only started happening with 052.005, with previous versions where were no problems.
Can anyone confirm this? Is it a problem in the current firmware or is just my unit needing a hard reset?

Only for missed calls or SMS/MMS. I don't have it on for email (as it would blink too often).

I suspect it is a but as this version had some changes to the breathing/notification light behaviour due to asian languages (even if mine is european PT)

HT201210 feeling a little lost. i was updating to new phone software now phone has gone back to new mode. it recognises my phone but wont allow me to ststem backup from itunes as it does not like the passwords i use as it says system restore already done
