MPlayer, zoom=1, and video glitches

My girlfriend has a computer with an ATi card in it. We're running xorg without a config. We added zoom=1 to ~/.mplayer/config, but when the video is scaled, lines blip across the screen on sudden changes in the video. We're using the x11 driver in MPlayer. Every other setting makes the video either very slow or it doesn't display at all. Any ideas?

You did not mention your computer (speed, processor).
Does it meet the minimum requirements as stated on this page?
Do other downloaded (purchased) videos play fine?
If so, you can report the 'bad' videos, using the e-mail form at the bottom of this page.
If there is a problem with the files, you normally will either get a refund or allowed a re-download when the problem is fixed (based on reports of users).
Also tell them that you downloaded (and payed for them) twice.

Audio and video glitches

As of the last few days, any time I play songs or videos on my iPhone it hitches at a certain point and skips to the next track. Videos will stop, crash to the home screen, and start from the beginning the next time I play them. I have already restored the phone and started fresh (not from the backup). Before the restore, only songs and videos that were added within the last few days had the issue, now every single track is affected. Here is the part that confuses me, it always at the exact same moment when I play them, but if I de-select the music and make it re-sync all the files, they still have the same issue, but at a different spot in the song! All songs are ripped from cd at 128 aac encoding, all videos done with handbrake at iPhone settings (480x, H.264). No hacking at all. It is driving me completely up the wall, does anyone have any ideas or suggestions?

Just for minor clarification, the time will continue moving after the audio stops for about 3 seconds, then it skips to the next song (audio) or crashes to the home screen (video). If I start the song or video and drag the slider past that point, it continues playing to the end without issue. As the days have gone on, it's getting worse and worse, some episodes would have multiple points that I would have to skip past. Videos change place on my iPhone far more often than songs, so that was what I noticed first. But despite several restore attempts, every track I transfer to the phone now behaves in this way. It is really frustrating, as I use this for its iPod functions more than the phone...

MacBook pro 8,2 late-2011 after series of kernel panics and video glitches stopped booting

Hello, friends... I am shattered, my MacBook Pro stopped booting today. It all started two days ago, when I came to India and got USB modem dongle from Tata Docomo. It was making Lion kernel panic whenever it was connected to Internet, but had no effect while disconnected or unplugged from the laptop. Then yesterday I had a kernel panic while playing a video in VLC, then while using Skype, and after a while I figured out the pattern, it would crash every time computer switched on the graphic card instead of the on-board CPU graphics. It would also crash with striped blue screen and misplace it horizontally. All this time I was looking for the solution on the internet, and ran two hardware tests, both normal and extended, both showed no issues, tried booting into safe mode getting the striped blue kernel panic screen after the progress bar filled. Resetting the ram also didn't help. Now it will not boot at all, only the hardware test is still working. After the logo screen in normal mode it just goes power off or hangs in grey screen for infinity.
Please, I need your help guys, I'm desperate, went to India for a few months and laptop breaking down almost straight away, and I'm also a dj, so its like a musical instrument to me, that I cannot work without...

Do you mean fading in visible versus or completely visible at the end of the transition? Whatever the case, I have not
found a scenario to fit what you are describing.
However, here are my suggestions for you to consider...
1. What is the alignment of the Cross Dissolve transition - Left Clip, Between Clips, or Right Clip. If Between Clips, please try Left Clip alignment.
2. What is the duration of the Cross Dissolve transition - you could try varying the transition duration. If less than 1 second, then please read the
details for minimum transition duration in the following

Problems with flash video and video chat?

Hi, when I use skype, ichat and when I watch youtube videos (this happens in all browsers) I very often experience problems, such as sound glitches and video glitches.
Sometimes I even have to restart OS as I get a greyed out sceen with a grey error message, asking me to restart my computer.
Other then that my macbook operates well.
Worth mentioning that when I watch movies/videos in VLC or quicktime I do not get any glitches at all.
What might be causing these problems?

MASN2HD Audio & Video Glitching

I am experiencing audio and video glitching, with both dropping out every 15 seconds or so, while watching MASN2HD on channel 501. So far I've only noticed it while MASN2 is on 501 - I can't say whether Fios1 HD is also glitching. MASN2 SD on channel 1 does not have the same problem. I've experienced this on multiple TV sets. I tried powering off the DVR/STB with no change.
I was going to try resetting them through Verizon.com, but it gives me an authentication error whenever I try.

Sorry to be such a moron with this, but I just don't have much experience with this iPad. I have had it for over a year and I just keep adding stuff to it and it has worked great. Now that the memory is used up, I am trying to figure out how to free up space and not lose what I have paid for.
So, Step 1 is complete, as I have "Transferred" all of the purchases.
What is Step 2? I unchecked the concert on the iTunes library, did a sync, but it's still on my iPad.

I am developing an elearning software with captivate 5 which has images and video.
I want to include an option to be able to zoom the images and video if clicked on the particular area.
It should zoom any part of the image when clicked on it during run time and go back to original size when clicked again.

In the project, double-click on the clip to open the Clip Inspector. In the Clip tab you will see an item about two thirds down labelled "Stabilization". If checked, uncheck the box "Smooth clip motion".
Stabilizing clips causes a zoomed in effect, with the extent of the zoom dependent upon how shaky the footage is. There is a slider beneath the check-box labelled "Maximum Zoom" - this can be draggged back and forth to adjust the zoom effect if desired, once the clip has been stabilized.
You may have chosen to analyze clips for stabilization when importing to iMovie (that's a choice provided by iMovie upon import). If so, it's best to turn off an option in iMovie's preferences. Go to this from the iMovie menu item iMovie>Preferences. Click on the Browser tab and deselect (uncheck) the box labelled "Automatically stabilize clips that have been analyzed".
I prefer to import clips without analyzing, as this speeds up the import process. Afterwards, in the Event you can check for any overly shaky clips, then analyze them in the Inspector. If necessary, once dropped into a Project, you can stabilize them as desired. You can also stabilize clips directly in the Project without having to first analyze them in the Event.

So, you can either quickly run closer to the subject to zoom in, and quickly run back to zoom out, or use an alternative video capture app, such as:

Yes. Three-fingered double-click to turn it on or off. Three-fingered drag to move the zoomed image.
Sometimes during playback I need to enlarge some parts of video in a way to read numeric settings or something similar.
The video will have been compressed for use on the iPhone, so zoom may help, but it won't be able to show detail that was lost in the compression.

"Doctor Who: The Classic Series" - Corruption and Audio/Video Glitches

Has anyone else had problems with the "Dr. Who: The Classic Series"?
First off, I am unable to download "Episode 1" of "Carnival of Monsters". I have tried to download on 2 different Macs and one PC, all stop around 90 MB (error 8008).
Secondly, all 4 episodes from "The Claws of Axos" are riddled with audio pops, coupled with simultaneous video glitches. During "Episode 2", it actually throws the audio out of sync for the remainder of the episode.
I highly suspect these files are corrupt at the server side. Just checking to see if anyone else has had similar issues.

Sorry, but there's no way to know. Apple doesn't pre-announce additions (except for limited pre-orders on albums) and there aren't any alerts for specific shows except for season passes which don't really apply to the Dr. Who Classic shows where every full story is a "season".
You'll just have to keep checking back from time to time.

I am trying to add Pan and Zoom to a video demo and the Add Pan & Zoom button is greyed out, why? And, how can I get it to work!

Notice that for a video demo you can set in and out points by clicking and dragging the little gold bars on the timeline.
If you have dragged the out point beyond the actual recording, as shown below, you can get the playhead beyond the video. And in that case the buttons for Pan and Zoom are disabled.
