MPLS-Aware Netflow support on some GSR Eth linecards

Does anyone know if the following linecards will support MPLS-aware Netflow?
The platform is a GSR 12410 with PRP-1 running IOS 12.0(32)SY1 (this release do sopport MPLS-Aware Netflow)
* 4GE-SFP-LC 4 Port ISE Gigabit Ethernet
* SPA-2X1GE 2-port Gigabit Ethernet Shared Port Adapter (on SIP-401)
* SPA-8XE1FE-TX-V2 8-port Fast Ethernet TX Shared Port Adapter (on SIP-401)
Which of those is considered as "Modular GE"? ("Modular GE" interfaces have some limitations in the feature MPLS-aware Netflow)
Thanks in advance

Both the SIP -401 will support MPLS aware net flow as they support V9 except for the Gig ISE which I believe doesnt.

  • Can MPLS aware Netflow ver. 9 be enabled on the catalyst switches 6500

HI, I'm working for KOREA TELECOM, and currently providing MPLS VPN.
We're planning to provide our customer with traffic report using NetFlow..
I read some documents which reads Netflow ver.9 can be enabled on Cisco GSR 12000 Series, but no mention about catalyst switches. So, I ' m curious about that Netflow ver 9 can be activated on catalyst 6500 series.. because the point where switch is located already have mpls encapsulated packet ( mpls vpn packet).
    Thank you , in advance.

NetFlow is now integral to Cisco 6500. A configuration we recommend is as below:
mls netflow     // This enables NetFlow on the Supervisor.
    mls nde sender version 7
mls aging long 64  // This breaks up long-lived flows into (roughly) one-minute segments.
mls aging normal 32  // This ensures that flows that have finished are exported in a timely manner.
    mls flow ip interface-full
    mls nde interface
The  next two commands will help to enable NetFlow data export for  bridged  traffic which is optional. You can specify the list of VLANs  here to  enable bridged traffic.
    ip flow ingress layer2-switched vlan
    ip flow export layer2-switched vlan
Apart from this, NetFlow has to be enabled on the MSFC using the below commands.
ip flow egress       // This command has to be executed on all the L3/VLAN interfaces.
ip flow-export destination {hostname|ip_address} 9996  // The hostname or IP address of the flow server
ip flow-export source {interface} // The interface through which NetFlow packets are exported. eg: Loopback0
    ip flow-export version 9
    ip flow-cache timeout active 1
    snmp-server ifindex persist
The new Cisco Flexible NetFlow actually allows for export of MPLS specific information (I believe it is stack lables) in addition to information on IP Address, port, etc. But you will need a tool that can support these additional fields. Otherwise you can view IP, port, protocol, etc related information from MPLS links.

  • MPLS backbone to support ipv6

    Folks,
We currently have MPLS backbone comprised of about 12 routers in the core. We could like to implement support for IPV6. Has anyone implemented this in their MPLS network yet. I know very few providers have deployed ipv6 support on their MPLS network. Could someone point out areas I should be focussing on to make this happen?
    Thanks,
    Parwal

I appreciate your response to my questions. I had another question for you. I will surely rate this post.
I have 7600's and 7500's in my backbone and 7200's on the edge. My question is that when look at the feature navigator the 7600 with Sup 720 is missing a of basic features required to be a core router of an MPLS Backbone. Features like Traffic engineering fast reroute, MPLS enabled Netflow and missing for this platform, is this platform not a good candidate to be a Backbone router of a service provider offering MPLS services??? 7500 on the other hand seems to have support for the MPLS related features. Please give me your advice, i would highly appreciate it.

  • C2600xm MPLS and QinQ support

Does anybody know an IOS version that supports both MPLS and QinQ support.  Nearly all advance enterprise services 12.4 support QinQ and some 12.3T, but i believe that later versions of IOS 12.3 and onwards removed MPLS support.  I could really do with finding both these features in the same IOS as it would greatly help me study.  IOS selector is hard to trust as it doesnt appear to label MPLS support under some IOS which i know have the commands.  Also certain 12.3T ios have been deferred which makes getting them to try hard to begin with.
So far i have tried the below.
    c2600-adventerprisek9-mz.123-11.T.bin <-- QinQ no mpls
    c2600-adventerprisek9-mz.123-26.bin <-- no QinQ
    c2600-advipservicesk9-mz.123-4.T6.bin <--no QinQ
c2600-telco-mz.123-26.bin <-- MPLS but no QinQ
    c2600-telco-mz.124-7.bin <- no MPLS
All the 12.4 IOS have had the tag-switching/MPLS commands removed.
Any help will be most appreciated!

    Hi,
If your CE at both ends are routers, then you can configure both CE's with a Sub interface on the trunk link that is going towards PE. On this Sub interface of CEs you can configure IP address and also, if CEF is enabled on router and the interface then you can use mpls ip command on this sub interface and form LDP neighborship between both CEs over this l2 circuit.
Yes MTU size will have to be capable of supporting this increased packet size.

I am not able to install my 'Complete National Geographic' cd on my Mac mini which runs Lion OS. The error message I get says  'Can't open installer as classic environment is no longer supported' can some one suggest a solution.

It means the software is PowerPC code, which is no longer supported in Lion. Your choices are to go back to Snow Leopard, run Snow Leopard Server in a virtual machine within Lion, see if the vendor has an updated version of National Geographic that will run on an Intel Mac, or run the software on an older Mac separately.

  • Does Information Designer Tools's aggregate awareness function support OLAP

    Hi...
Does Information Designer Tools's aggregate awareness function support OLAP ??
    Thanks

To see which ODBC function DG4ODBC is looking for and unixODBC isn't supporting it would be best to get an ODBC trace file. But as your unixODBC driver (unixODBC-2.2.11-10.el5) is outdated and these old drivers had a lot of issues when being used on 64bit operating systems (for example wrong sizeofint etc). So best would be to update the unixODBC Driver manager to release 2.3.x. More details can be found on the web site: www.unicodbc.org

  • Support for some IS functions added

Support for the following functions has been added in the SP1:
    ISERR
    ISERROR
    ISEVEN
    ISODD
    ISLOGICAL
    ISNONTEXT
    ISTEXT
    TYPE
It looks like they did not get to the user guide list yet.

The new functions were relatively late additions, therefore they could not be added to the User Guide. They are addressed in the Release Notes. The most current version of the Release Notes can be found attached to the top post in this thread:

  • Netflow Supported versions

Is Netflow supported on the Cisco 2960's and 3760's? If so, what IOS version do I require.
    Thanks in advance,

Netflow is supported in all later IOS versions. 12.4 (introduced in 12.3) and later have it.
I hope it answers the question.

  • URGENT: MPLS P/ PE support on 7600/Sup720-BXL and 3750 Metro switch

I'm need to design a MPLS network for a Cable Operator.
They will start small with some Cisco CMTS doing MPLS-PE and needing only two devices to aggregate these PE and delivering Services (Internet connection, VoD, ...) , so they will need to work has P/PE.
For that I want to know if it's possible to:
    1 - Use 3750 Metro and 7600/Sup720-BXL as P and PE
    2 - Who many customers (L2VPN/VLANs and/or L3VPN/VRF) can they support?
Searching in CCO I found these values/features but, need URGENT to check:
    1 - sup720-bxl supports P and PE but 3750 only PE?
2 - 3750 supports 1024 VLANs and 8,192 MPLS labels but no values on L3VPN/VRF?
SUP720 supports more than 1000 VRF?
Really need urgent HELP on this design/capabilities for these two devices.
    Thanks in advance,

before you even get anywhere close to the numbers of L2/L3 on a 7200 I would seriously consider asking what throughput you can get through a 7200 with MPLS, QOS, L3vpns and L2vpns configured. I have done this testing already but dont think it is appropriate to quote the figures publically.

  • Link Bundle - MPLS TE & FRR Support

    Hi Sir,
Platform Cisco 12406 PRP, current running IOS 12.0(32)SY3.
May I know what is latest IOS that can support MPLS TE & FRR over link bundle (L3 Etherchannel) ?
    Regards

    Hi,
12.0(33)S is the last IOS version for GSR and doesn't support this feature. New development focus on XR only and only few of them like 4B ASN are ported to 33S.

  • Cisco IOS 12.2 (50) SE2 Netflow support

    hi to everyboby,
I'm trying to understand if the IOS version "Cisco IOS Software, C3750 Software (C3750-IPSERVICESK9-M), Version 12.2(50)SE2, RELEASE SOFTWARE (fc2)" supports the netflow feature.
I'm trying to configure the cisco WS-C3750G-12S for sending netflow datagrams but I don't find the commands like "ip flow-export".
This cisco official document says that the commands for enabling netflow are not supported.
    http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/switches/lan/catalyst3750/software/release/12.2_35_se/configuration/guide/swuncli.html#wp1060525
Is It true or I'm missing something?
    Thank you very much!

No, Netflow is not support on the Cat2K and Cat3K switches.  See http://www.cisco.com/en/US/prod/collateral/iosswrel/ps6537/ps6555/ps6601/prod_white_paper0900aecd80406232.html .

  • Creative silently trying to drop support for some X-FI products?

I intended to look for any updates on their support page but to my surprise the X-FI Platinum (yes, the one with hardware decoding of various 5. formats) was not listed anymore. Though I found it through: 'If your product is not listed above, please click here.' at the very bottom. So we got an official Windows 7 driver with this, and other cards, that increases shutdown time with up to 5 minutes for 9 months, and now this? I am close to being speechless.
So just to be clear here, I am not saying they are, I am saying what it starting to point towards. It doesn't inspire confidence or quality at all and on top of the last few years it's just too much. Sadly Creative seems to think they don't want customers that know how things work. We're too much trouble and not easy enough cashcows? But the only thing we want is are bug fixed and stable working drivers in operating system Creative has announced to support. Granted I understand that this may not be easy, but don't announce support for products you cannot get to work 00% your selfs.
Thank you for the efforts Creative, but it's fallen short and only almost working so far in Vista and W7. I don't see how anyone should buy your products with the quality (I've tested a few things more then just your sounds cards) you're aiming for if this is Creatives answer to it's consumers.

    Well said.
I'm sick and tired of Creative. No response - no new drivers - nothing but silence. Maybe it's time to get the media on this. Maybe that will force Creative to come with some sort of statement about their lack of support.
I can think of several news media that might find this situation very interesting!.
Unfortunately, I don't think even media attention can move Creative to do anything about anything except make more hollow promises.
Remember all the media attention surrounding the Daniel_k incident in March/April 2008 It woke Creative up for a little bit, they made a bunch of vague promises, and now they are back to sleep again.
Guess you're right but it seems like a much bigger story than the Daniel incident.
The Daniel_K incident wasn't solely about Creative stepping on a community driver modder, it was also about the years of neglect Creative had towards their sound card users. Those years of neglect had the effect of building a silent anger towards Creative amongst it's user base, we were all ready to blow, we just needed a spark. The letter from Creative to Daniel K was that spark.

  • IPv6 Netflow support on Cisco PI1.2

    Hi,
i just came to know Assurance feature license doesn't come for free when upgrading from LMS4.2 or NCS1.1. It has to be purchased. Before buying this license, i would like to know if IPv6 netflow is supported.
    Thanks,

  • MPLS over GRE Support (Platform)

    Hello,
I am looking to run MPLS over GRE (over the Public Internet) probably with IPSec for obvious reasons. CFN seems to suggest only the Cat6k with SUP-VS-2T or the Catalyst 6800 is capable of MPLS over GRE functionality...
I currently have 2 x Cisco 7200 VXR platforms (7204 & 7206) with the NPE-G2 processing engine and was wondering if we added the VSA encryption module (C7200-VSA=) would be enough to get a reliable MPLS over GRE tunnel functionality.
The tunnel with Encryption would ideally support up to 500Mbps.
My other alternative is to upgrade/replace the VXRs with ASRs (1002 or similar) but again CFN is unclear if the ASR100x platform is capable of delivering MPLS over GRE + IPSec.
    Thanks,

MPLS over GRE is not supported in Hardware for sup720. This is a PFC3 hardware limitation. Your options would be to use SPA-400 or Enhanced FlexWan.
