MPLS-TE Guarantee Bandwidth only for ?

Hello ^_^
Does the MPLS-TE can used in guarantee Bandwidth only for Voice or Video Conference at 3750-ME or 6524ME or 7206 Router ?

Hello Hsin,
if you don't use mpls autoroute announce you can decide what traffic you put in a mesh of MPLS TE tunnels.
This can be done by using static routes or combining them with BGP (using per service next-hop loopbacks).
Then, another matter is the volume of traffic you put over an MPLS TE tunnel: there is no real time effective CAC but CAC is performed on RSVP TE reversations.
In other words if a tunnel declares a bandwidth of 2 Mbps you can still put 20 Mbps of traffic over it!
It is not like it has been on ATM.
Hope to help

  • What is it "tunnel mpls traffic-eng bandwidth" !!!

    Buenas dia, Amigos!
I want to limit the speed of the MPLS Tunnel between two sites. I'm going to create a MPLS tunnel and apply
    "tunnel mpls traffic-eng bandwidth X"
Can anybody answer me, it can really limit the speed or only reserve bandwidth?
    !Hasta la vista, Amigos!

    Hello Oleg,
the command is only used during the tunnel setup and has administrative meaning. It is used by RSVP for reservation of resources.  It does not provide any form of rate control over the tunnel.
You need to control how much traffic you put on the tunnel on the tail end router.

  • Which object in RSVP message carried the value configured by "tunnel mpls traffic-eng bandwidth" command?

    Hi Experts,
I configured a simple MPLS TE tunnel in my routers and configured it with "tunnel mpls traffic-eng bandwidth 777" command. The tunnel came up fine. I tried to capture the packets (using GNS capture) going out of tunnel head end interface but I could not find out on which message object the value '777' is carried. Can anyone please explain me exactly in which RSVP/OSPF message the bandwidth value is carried?
    Thanks,
    Madhu

    Hello Madhu,
I think it is FLOWSPEC object, not 100% sure
The FLOWSPEC class is defined in RFC 2210. Cisco IOS Software requests Controlled-Load service when reserving a TE tunnel. The FLOWSPEC format is complex and has many things in it that RSVP for MPLS TE doesn't use.The FLOWSPEC is used in Resv messages—Resv, ResvTear, ResvErr, ResvConf, ResvTearConf. Its only use in MPLS TE is to use the average rate section of the FLOWSPEC to specify the bandwidth desired, in bytes. Not bits. Bytes. So if you configure a tunnel with tunnel mpls traffic-eng 100000 to request 100 Mbps of bandwidth, this gets signalled as 12,500,000 bytes per second (100 Mb is 100,000 Kb is 100,000,000 bits, which is 12,500,000 bytes).
    Hope this helps

  • SRM Classic - Automatic PO creation in R/3 only for PReqs based on catalogs

    Dear Experts,
in SRM 7.0 Classic Scenario, i am facing the following question w.r.t. automatic PO creation on the R/3 side:
Is it possible to have automatic PO creation in R/3 only for those purchase requisition items, that are based on shopping cart items from a third party punch out catalog?
The idea is, that the requisitioner on the SRM EBP side shops in a catalog. Once the the SC is approved and the purchase requisition is created in the R/3 system, automatically a PO should be created based on that PReq. This would save the time for the buyer, who do not need to pay attention to this document, because the purchase from the catalog guarantees the buyer, that the already pre-agreed conditions are getting applied.
But PReqs that are based on Free Text shopping cart EBP items must not be taken into account for the automatic PO creation.
Is there a way to distinguish between the catalo-based and the non-catalog based PReq positions?
    Thank you.

    Hello Ashutosh,
thank you very much for that idea!
I would have the following question w.r.t. to such configuration:
If i configure that the PO creation for complete SC should happen for a certain purchasing group, would it be somehow possible to arrange that when a Catalog item is put into the shopping cart, that only that certain purchasing group gets defaultet? (the idea behind this is, to leave the free text shopping carts to already known purchasing groups and to keep the purchase requisition as the backend object for this configuration. And additionally to create new purchasing groups, that should be linked to the catalog purchases and to POs as the backend objects).
    Thanks again for the help!

Auto PO transaction ME59N comes with huge selection crieteria. If you can distinguish between catelog vs non catalog requisition then it very easy to set up variant to filter non catalog based requistion. you can also think about ehnacement of polulating text fields like Requisitioner or Requirement tracking number  with unque idetifier  in case of non catalog based PR then you can set variant to filter out those requistions..

  • What is the AzureVM bandwidth throttling for each instance size?

While uploading multi-GB VHDs to Azure Blob storage from an AzureVM in the same region I've discovered the following uplink network throttling.
    Basic_A0 size: 5Mbps
    Basic_A1 size: 100Mbps
I would like to get this closer to 1000Mbps, even 500Mbps would be adequate.  The only
Azure documentation that I can find only provides bandwidth information for the Standard_DS series (which is expressed in MB per second).  However I would like to know what uplink bandwidth is available to Standard Tier A and D series.

    Hi Martin;
When we create certain sized VMs, the NICs associated with them are throttled for outbound traffic. However this is only a figurative scale the actual throughput would
be dependent on the other factors like your ISP also if other tenants are throttling, the speed would vary.  Hope
    this helps.

  • What is the 'tunnel mpls traffic-en bandwidth' ?

    Hi
I do not understand about 'mpls tunnel traffic-en bandwidth'
If i want to use the RSVP-TE then i know i have to configure the 'ip rsvp bandwidth ...'  and 'tunnel mpls traffic-en bandwidth...'
But why i have to configure them for TE.
RSVP is Resource Reservation Bandwidth so i think that 'ip rsvp bandwidth' checked the available B/W in physical interface for TE and it is not the reality B/W for tunnel.
    Is it correct?
Can you teach me them for me 'IP RSVP BANDWIDTH, TUNNEL MPLS TRAFFIC-EN BANDWIDTH'
    Thank you

    Hello Byung,
the ip rsvp bandwidth specifies the total amount of resources available outbound an interface = total reserveable bandwidth on the link it can even bei higher then effective interface speed.
The other command specifies the amount of bandwidth to be used in  the reservation for the specific MPLS TE tunnel and has to be lower then the first one in order for the link to be selected and used for the tunnel. If no suitable path is found the tunnel setup fails.
To be noted the bandwidth associated to an MPLS TE Tunnel is an administrative parameter and does not reflect the effective traffic that can travel over the tunnel.
The Call admission control is performed on the administrative bandwidth parameter not on effective user traffic.
    Hope to help

  • Monitoring Bandwidth usage for individual hosted sites on osx server?

Does anyone know of a good way to monitor bandwidth consumption for individual websites hosted on osx server?

Part of this answer depends on server configuration details that you haven't provided.
Are you looking for 'bandwidth' as in total bytes transferred for any given site? or are you looking for a megabits-per-second network throughput calculation?
Are your various sites logging to separate log files? or a single, unified log file?
If you want a total bytes transferred calculation, then that data is stored in the standard log files, so a simple parser that adds up the response sizes would suffice - it will tell you that x number of bytes/megabytes were transferred.
A bandwitch utilization graph (e.g. mbps) is a little trickier, though.
Are your sites running on the same port, using name-based virtual hosting to separate the traffic, or are they running on different ports?
If different ports then you may be able to implement some kind of network monitoring, but if they're all running on the same port (e.g. 80) then that doesn't work - you're down to Apache logging.
The standard Apache logs, though, don't include enough data to calculate a bandwidth graph. It does include timestamps of requests, and the total bytes in the reply, but that's not enough - the timestamp is only accurate to the second, and there's no indication of duration... for example, a 1mb web page served in 1 second equates to 8mbps, but that same file transferred in 30 seconds is only about 273kbps.
Since the transfer time is required to calculate the bandwidth utilization for the site, you'll need to amend your logging to include the transfer size. You'll need to enable mod_logio and add the %O (output bytes) and %T (request time) variables to your log format. Only then can you calculate the bits-per-second throughput of your site.

  • Bandwidth requirement for voice calls

    Hi All,
Need expertise advise on the following concern about voice call.
    1. Bandwidth requirement for video call across all other endpoint(using Polycom / Lifesize end point at their end)
        a)Standard Video
        b)1K HD Video
        c)4K HD Video
    2. Plus can we determine bandwidth required for all the following below:
    a. 1 to 1 VC  end point ( Cisco TP – Cisco TP)
    b. Bridge call  ( Cisco TP to Polycom / Lifesize)
    c. 1 to 1 VC end point ( Cisco TP – Polycom / Lifesize)

Thanks for the info Wayne. I missed out information about the endpoint.
Client using CTS 3010.  Acoording to datasheet it says
11.9 Mbps (1080p, 30 fps best motion handling), 10.1 Mbps (1080p, 30 fps better motion handling), 8.8 Mbps (1080p, 30 fps good motion handling)
    6.4 Mbps (720p, 30 fps best motion handling), 4.5 Mbps (720p, 30 fps better motion handling), 3.1 Mbps (720p, 30 fps good motion handling)2
My question is does the bandwidth required for both ways or only one way?
    And I'm aware CTS 3010 doesn't support 4K video.

  • Bandwidth required for Lync 2013 audio video call

    Hi,
what is the required bandwidth required for  lync 2013 audio video call from out side of company network. considering users will use owa integration with exchange 2013  for audio video call.
i tried with lync bandwidth calculator but could not figure it out.
actually i have some remote site where users have connectivity of 160 kbps only.

There are a number of variables such as call type and video resolution, but I would suggest using this table as a guide:
    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/jj688118.aspx
For example for capacity purposes with a Lync peer-to-peer call you're looking at 57Kbps (86 with FEC)

  • Total Bandwidth requirement for 720p 30fps video call to mcu 5300 and P2P call

    Hi All,
One of customer purchased 5300 MCU VCSC and VCSE from us.
All infra will be setup in their HQ and all endpoints are from internet. All endpoints will register to VCSE.
customer requirements are 5 concurrent encrypted calls to MCU with 720p 30fps and point to point 10 concurrent encrypted calls.
endpoints are cisco c series endpoints and polycom HDX endpoinds.
They haven't  subscribe the line yet. we need to propose the minimum bandwidth requirement to customer.
    1) what is the minimum bandwidth requirements to achieve 720p 30fps encrypted call to MCU?
    2) what is the total bandwidth requirements for 5 concurrent encrypted calls to MCU?
    3) what is the total load of bandwidth requirements for 5 concurrent encrypted calls to MCU and  point to point 10 concurrent encrypted calls?
    Thanks advance for you answer!

point to point 10 concurrent encrypted calls?
Even with a miltisite license installed on the codec to enable the built in bridge on the endpoint, you're only going to be able to connect up to 3 sites max, the endpoint hosting the conference that has the multisite option + 3 others. You'll have to rely on the MCU to host these conferences.

No. Something else is going on.
Your son may be hogging all the bandwidth but your wireless network should never simply disappear. Moreover, if your son isn't doing anything the available bandwidth for other devices should remain unaffected.
I suspect that something is miswired, and from what you describe I suspect that link is between the Extreme and the "other computer".
The way to accomplish what you propose is
Modem > Ethernet cable to Extreme's WAN port
Extreme's LAN ports > wired Ethernet devices.
There should be nothing but an Ethernet cable linking an Extreme LAN port and any other wired device. If you run out of available LAN ports on the Extreme, you need to by an "Ethernet switch" - they are not expensive, but don't call it a "splitter" or you will only confuse yourself. The switch would be connected to one of the Extreme's LAN ports, and you would connect additional devices to it. You can also use one of your Expresses for that purpose, assuming it is the current generation model with two Ethernet ports.

  • Max-reserved-bandwidth 100% for the interface

According to CCO as following text, the remaining 25 percent of bandwidth is used for overhead, including Layer 2 overhead, control traffic, and best-effort traffic. I want to know why cisco choose 25 percent. why not 30% or 20%?
If I config the max-reserved-bandwidth 100% for the interface, does it will effect the routing protocol? also effect the network conectivity?
    thanks for your answer
    =======
    Usage Guidelines for max-reserved-bandwidth
The sum of all bandwidth allocation on an interface should not exceed 75 percent of the available bandwidth on an interface. The remaining 25 percent of bandwidth is used for overhead, including Layer 2 overhead, control traffic, and best-effort traffic.
If you need to allocate more than 75 percent for RSVP, CBWFQ, LLQ, IP RTP Priority, Frame Relay IP RTP Priority, and Frame Relay PIPQ, you can use the max-reserved-bandwidth command. The percent argument specifies the maximum percentage of the total interface bandwidth that can be used.
If you do use the max-reserved-bandwidth command, make sure that not too much bandwidth is taken away from best-effort and control traffic.
The max-reserved-bandwidth command is intended for use on main interfaces only; it has no effect on virtual circuits (VCs) or ATM permanent virtual circuits (PVCs).

    Kevin,
this is the wrong group for this question.

There probably is, but it requires that you be able to use punctuation and write in sentences so that we can understand exactly what you want.
You can block others from using your Apple ID by changing your password.  There is no way to erase what was already downloaded on to someone else's device, for obvious reasons,
