MPower Max AC SB Cinema not detecting audio?

I'm trying to get SBc2 to recognize the realtek audio but i'm getting a ' audio device not found' type error. I've tried the latest drivers on Realtek's site, on the dvd and on msi support page. Nothing seems to fix it. I've installed sbc2 first and then the drivers and i've switched the order. Same issue. I'm running Win 8.1 and i'm also getting aggravated.
SBC was one of the reasons this motherboard was purchased snd now I'm regretting this decision. Should have bought the asus.
The wifi module is also the dumbest design choice i've seen in a while.

Your MOBO is Z97 MPOWER MAX AC?
Could you list your full spec?
Try removing SBC2 and all the drivers, installing again from driver DVD.
first chipset driver, second Realtek, then SBC2.
Yeah it's a z97 mpower max ac.
Full specs?
4790k, MSI Twin Frozr GTX 970, 8GB Mushkin Silverline, 240 Crucial SSD, RM650 Corsair power supply
I've tried it all sorts of ways. Should I uninstall Nvidia drivers and then try installing it again? Is the stupid program detecting the HDMI audio off the videocard and going crazy? What a POS if that is the case.

I have tried the Microsoft Fixit tool, which says there is a problem but it can't fix it.
II have checked the registry for upper & lower filters but there are no filter entries in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrenControlSet\Control\Class\(4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318.

It is a hardware issue. The drive has multiple lasers for multiple functions and it is very possible for the CD function to stop working and the DVD function to be fine. The only fix is a replacement drive. Here is one for sale on eBay:
    http://www.ebay.com/itm/HP-Probook-4510s-4515s-4520s-4525s-4530s-DVD-Burner-Writer-CD-R-ROM-Player-D...
This video shows how to get inside and do the replacement. As the ad says you will need to swap faceplates over from the old drive. If you need more help post back.

This is way more than you need to do. After removing the keyboard you can remove a screw holding the DVD drive in and then slide it out.

  • JMF-based applet can not detect audio devices on Vista (?)

    Hi,
As many people reported, I encountered the same issue - CaptureDeviceManager.getDeviceList does not detect any audio device on IE/Vista.
    Here is my testing environment:
HP XW4600, RealTek HD Audio onboard sound card,
Vista SP1 (Business, Home Premium, and Vista64)
    JRE1.5.0_16, JMF2.1.1e
A recording Applet runs in IE7 (which works fine on XP and its Java application version always works fine on Vista)
I have tried a number of things without success:
1)Use different audio formats as the input parameter for getDeviceList
    2)Try CaptureDeviceManager.getDevice(new String("DirectSoundCapture"))
    3)CaptureDeviceInfo info = new CaptureDeviceInfo(com.sun.media.protocol.dsound.DataSource.NAME,new MediaLocator("dsound://"),null);
    4) Vector devices = (Vector) CaptureDeviceManager.getDeviceList(null).clone();
    5)Uncheck UAC(Vista User Access Control)
    6)Set IE settings least restrictive
7)Try signed or unsigned recording Applet
8)Pack the recording Applet to a jar and deploy to JRE\lib\ext
9)Run JMFInit and copy the files in JMF\Lib to System32 folder
On a few occasions, audio devices can be detected. For examples,
10)Upgrading an HP XW4200 (XP machine with AC97 codecs driver) to Vista,
11)1/5 chance on the machines with both Sun JRE and MS Java SDK installed.
12)Trying Item # 9. it worked once on one machine, but after rebuilding the machine, the same trick does not play.
I am wondering if there is a way to let JMF-based applets detect audio devices on Vista or this is an inherent problem with JMF, IE and Vista.
I would appreciate it very much if youd kindly offer any help and suggestions.

I would appreciate it very much if you'd kindly offer any help and suggestions. >I suspect the basic problem here, is the installer that defaults to preventing the applet access to record sound (I am guessing that would 'spill over' into web-cam permissions). A quick test of that is to try the same code as an application.
If the application works, one possible fix is to launch the application using webstart. Webstart will work from a web page, and offers many other advantages over a standard applet.

  • Mpower max 780 lightning UEFI not displayed right and windows 8.1 no DVI-input

    Hi all,
I’m new to the forum, I’m very sorry that my first post is the posting of a problem.
I’ve read several treads just to be sure I’m not asking the same question twice.
In this case I have 2 problems, both are problems more users have issues with but not as a combination of both, that’s why I posted it.
    I’ll start with my rig:
    Intel i7 4770K
    MSI Z87 Mpower Max
    MSI Geforce GTX 780 lightning
    Crucial Ballistix tactical BLT2C8G3D1608ET3LX0CEU
    Crucial 2.5" M500 480GB
    Seagate Barracuda 7200.14
    Seasonic Platinum Series 860 Watt
    Asus VG248QE monitor
    The problems
After installing my rig myself I stated it up and everything worked fine.
    Installed windows 8.1
Installed a few games (I couldn’t wait to try it out)
Then after shutting down and starting up de the next day the problems started
The bios screen wasn’t displayed right:
    - Resolution isn’t correct
    - Getting art-effects when trying to adjust a setting in the bios
    - When saving, bios is stopt working with an error message that the bin file is incorrect
so setting up the bios is a big problem
The second issue is that when I let it go and load windows 8.1:
    - It shows the partially BIOS image (big yellow M)
    - Then the windows logo with the loading circle
    - Followed by a black screen and my monitor telling me that there is no DVI signal
    What I’ve done so far:
A windows 8.1 repair (so everything whipped) “fresh” install on my SSD then again install of the Nvidea driver.
This worked for a hours of gaming funn, with 3 or 4 reboots of the system (so I thought problem fixed).
Sadly not, I began to check the forums and found that I needed to run W8.1 in safemode to clear the Nvidea drivers en again install the latest version along with the Intel VGA drivers.
I’ve tried that but no luck on that one.
And yes I’ve tried to clear CMOS (several times)
I’ve tried to flash the BIOS but I can’t select my USB drive when I press F11 (so I’ll be trying another USB stick soon)
Getting the bootsequence to boot from USB isn’t an option also because of the bios screen issue.
Does anyone have the same issues, or even better does anyone have a solution to all my troubles?
    Thanx,
    Quasi

Ok it is in legacy mode then. Waiting for your report. If it comes up on the igpu also check the bios version. Would be better than guessing.
Oke tested the HDMI cable, after starting up finally i got a normal BIOS view again.
BIOS Version E7815IMS V1.2 (so it's 1.2 instead of 1.0) so much for guessing...
As expected windows started normally in high resolution.
So i think the problem is that the MB bios doesn't work wel with the videocard or the videocard is DOA.
any thoughts for the next step?

  • Captivate 4 not detecting audio input from USB Microphone

I'm using a Logitech USB microphone in Captivate 4.  When I try to calibrate it, Captivate 4 is not detecting any sound.  It is set up properly.  In the "audio settings" menu, this microphone is listed in the drop down list.  I have selected it as the input device.  However, when I try to "calibrate" this microphone, no audio is detectable.  Captivate 4 is detecting the device, but not the audio input.  I have double checked all the usual suspects--this microphone is selected as the default recording device.  It does not use special software or drivers.  It is designed to use the drivers in Vista.  It works fine with other applications.  I have made sure the input level is detectable.  I've checked to make sure it is not muted.  I have other microphones (non-USB cheapies) that work fine, but I can't get this specific USB microphone to work.
    Suggestions?

  • Captivate 4 - Not detecting Audio Device in Windows 7

    Hi Experts,
I have Windows 7 64 bit. I installed Captivate 4 tiral version. When I try to set the Audio Settings, I saw that Audio Device is not detected. I have enabled all the audio devices through Control Panel -> Sound. Speakers and In-built microphone are working fine on laptop.
Still Captivate is not detecting the audio device. I tried reinstallinig the application and installing the patch but no success.
Could you please help ? Thanks & Appreciation in advance.
    Regards
    Ratnesh Nagori

    Welcome to our community
As you are in the mode of installing a trial version, try uninstalling Captivate 4 and go get Captivate 5 instead. Captivate 4 wasn't built with Windows 7 in mind and many things are "iffy" at best. Captivate 5 is different and should work without issue on Windows 7.

  • Cinema Not Detected

I've been using a 20" Cinema Disply with my MacBook Pro for months now, but suddenly this morning when I plug in the connection nothing happens. Power is going to the display, but it's no longer detected as an additional monitor. What ways can I try to troubleshoot this? I tried restarting with the monitor plugged in, but that had no effect.

PRAM didn't work, nor did plugging in to a different laptop.
However, I did unplug the monitor from the outlet for the night and now it works. Is this some sort of reset?
    Thanks for the help.

  • Z97 MPOWER MAX AC - Fans do not change their speed

I'm trying to get the smart fan control on this motherboard to work but all my CPU fans are on max throttle despite me calling for them to run at 12.5 %.  Anyone else have this problem?  The fans definitely support speed control as the NH-D14 I am using was pulled from an older board where they did work.

I studied the manual closely and it seems that the two CPU fan connectors expect the 4 pins to be:
    1) Ground
    2) +12V
    3) Sense
    4) Speed control
The three SYS fan connectors expect the 4 pins to be:
    1) Ground
    2) Speed control
    3) Sense
    4) NC
I hooked up my two CPU fans to the SYS headers and they behave as expected.

  • Op-amp not working on Z87 Mpower Max?

Hello, I have purchased a Z87 Mpower Max recently. I was enticed by the Audio Boost sound circuitry. It should be able to drive up to 600 Ohm headphones, right? Well, I am using a 63 Ohm set (AKG K702), and at max volume, it is just barely at comfortable listening level. The sound characteristics themselves seem unamped: instrument separation is poor and soundstage is narrow.
How do I enable the TI OPA1652? I see no option in the driver software, nor do I see an impedance toggle switch like those used on some sound cards. Phone tech support told me that it should be enabled by default, but I am wondering about that. Enabling the amp by default could cause audio equipment and/or hearing damage.

I THINK I figured it out. I set the Smart Volume control to Loud under Sound Blaster Cinema. Now it seems reasonably amped.

  • MPower MAX cant detect GPU on 2nd slot.

    as the tittle says.
i just recently bought another 780 lightning and wanted to sli the gpu. turns out when i inserted the gpu on the pciex8 slot, the card cant be detected.
tried to put the new card in pcix4. it is detected.
i tried another card on the pciex8 slot. the result are:
    gt 220 =detected
    gtx460se =can't detect.
i try the card on 4x slot. it works nicely. so this means the card is okay.
    so to conclude.
the pci-e 8x only work on nvidia gt220. but when i put 780 or 460, its not working.
i suspected there's a problem with the pcix8 slot. this does means that i can't sli the cards.
i already tried the usual stuff (drivers, bios, etc). and none of them is solve it.
    i need help.

  • DVD-Audio and "can not detect sound blaster card" with Audigy2 Va

I recently purchased an "Audigy2 Value" card from an eBay user, because I recently purchased some DVD-Audio discs. I downloaded the Audigy2 drivers from the website, and the Creative MediaSource player. 5. Surround sound worked fine for me, though sometimes the driver would reset to the default 2/2. sound and I would have to re-select 5. sound, which was annoying.
Then I was completely unable to get the MediaSource player to recognise my DVD-Audio discs, and the EAX functionality of the player would never work. The EAX logo never appeared in the player. When I tried installing the MediaSource player from an install disc, I got the message "can not detect sound blaster card". Then I discovered the world of EEPROM problems.
I followed advice from some other threads, including using ScanPCI to get information on the card, which yielded the following result.
When installed on my machine (Asus A7A266 motherboard) the ScanPCI reads:

(Just a note: above you can clearly see that it does not say I have an Audigy, it thinks it is a SBLi've. Is this normal? The card IS an Audigy 2, it says so on the card.)
So, I put the card back on my own PC, thinking this has fixed my EEPROM, but I get the same as before. Subsystem ID 0002h. And of course the install software will not detect the card.
I realise that I could go back to using the web drivers, but this still leaves me with MediaSource not recognising the card and not enabling DVD-Audio or EAX, which is why I bought the card in the first place!
I have heard that the VIA chipset is possibly to blame for the EEPROM problems on the Audigy cards, and certainly it seems like it is not permanent, since it gave different information on the other PC. So now I am seriously considering getting a new motherboard.
Do other motherboards cause this same problem? I don't want to buy another board and get the same trouble. All I want is to be able to install my MediaSource and have it recognise my card so I can listen to my DVD-Audio discs.
    Cheers,
    Russ.

Figured out my problem. Installing the drivers from the web to begin with was a bad idea. They just did not work properly with the card.
The "card not found" problem has gone as well, after installing it in another PC. I am also using the proper install disc now, as the other one I was using turned out to not be for the Audigy 2 value after all, but was an Audigy 2 install disc. That easily explains the "Card not found" error. The differing results from the ScanPCI program are still bizarre, though.
Thanks to all of the people on the forum who posted information in other threads to help me deal with this issue. For now I am sticking with the original drivers from the disc and I am not upgrading.

  • Cinema Display not detected

I got my 20" Cinema Display back from repair today (backlight problem) and now I can't get my MacBook Pro to detect that it's attached. While it was at the repair center, I used a CRT as a second monitor. So today, I just closed the MBP (didn't shut it off, which I think is what cause the problem), disconnected the CRT, connected the ACD and opened the MPB back up. Completely black screen, with the little LED on all the time.
    So, troubleshooting:
    - The MBP still detects the CRT
    - ACD is detected by both a G4 and G5
    - A different 20" ACD is ALSO not detected by my MBP
    - Reset NVRAM and SMC
    - Booted MBP in safe mode
    - Booted MBP from startup CD
    - Tried various resolutions while the CRT was connected, thinking maybe it was stuck on one that's not compatible with the ACD
    - Moved and recreated the com.apple.windowserver.* files
I'm running 10.4.9 and here's what the graphics/displays info says, WITH the Cinema Display connected:

Been messing with this for four hours, and I still have a blank display. Any other ideas? From one thread someone mentioned replacing the logic board fixed a similar problem.

    UPDATE:
I just got back from my visit to a mac genius. Of course Murphy's law was in full effect! With my MBP connected to the cinema display in the Mac store, everything worked as it is supposed to.
Well, I rush home thinking that maybe mine would now work - - no luck! He did suggest that I try connecting analog with the provided dvi-to-vga adapter. This suggestion DID work! BUT, I want my video digital! That is why even though I was happy with the iBook G4 that I bought last year, I wanted digital video + expanded desktop!
I think I will make another reservation with the Mac Genius, but this time, bring my monitor. Will keep you posted...

  • Could not detect Sound Blaster Audio Card on xp sp2 Sys

I have Audigy Platinum and trying to install to a recently re-installed windows xp sp2 system. On my previous install everything was working fine and now I am looking to install the newest drivers and the error comes up [color="#ff3300">"could not detect Sound Blaster Audio Card on system". The strange thing is windows recognizes the card and will install it's drivers, but when I go to install the latest driver update I get the error. In addition, I also tried to run the install from my original disk.
I also?un-installed the devices showing? in the windows device manager, then tried and the same error, I even tried it in safe mode. Any ideas? Thanks and Advance,Mikel

Yes i think the real lesson here is not to buy creative,. i have the same problem with their junky card, so i guess ill just have to take buisness somewhere else. if you all do the same perhaps the threat of them going out of buisness will have them deal with their problems. if not atleast we saved others the headache of learning this lesson.
