MPS/MRP : OPM Schedule Parameters

Hi Folks,
"If you accepted the default organization from the previous field, the code for the
default schedule parameters assigned to the user/planner (in User Profiles)
displays here."
Above Paragraph i copied from OPM - MPS/MRP user guide.
My query is :
Where i can find the "User Profiles"?
Please reply me, this is urgent i have to continue my setup.....

  • Scheduling parameters in MRP

    Hi Gurus,
what are the different effects on the PRs and Planned Orders for the different Scheduling Parameters in the MRP Run for 1 Basic Dates & 2 Leadtime & Capacity Planning?

    Hi,
If you select Basic date scheduling, check in planned order or prod order, system will show only basic start date & finish date.
If you select Lead time scheduling, check in planned order or prod order, system will show basic start date, finish date & Prod start date & finish date.
With lead time scheduling, capacity requirement also system will generate.

  • Scheduling Parameters

    Hi,
I am trying to customize the scheduling parameters in T.Code "OPU3". But the field "SelID: Detailed" under Detailed Schedule sub screen is coming as non editable. I want to give some selection id to this field. Please tell me that from which field the value can be populated here or is there any way to put the value directly here.
    Thanks !!

    Dear,
It is not possible in standard SAP you can have this option for MRP run so it can possible to select in OPU5 not for OPUZ and OPU3. As in production order scheduling parameters are copied from OPL8.
    Hope clear to you.
Could you please update me on your thread  MILL_OC to create combination order.
    There no classification required.

  • MPS & MRP - Whats the Difference.

    Hi..
I am a beginner in PP , can anyone of can explain with clear steps after Demand Management triggering demand programs, which inturn will pass data to either MPS or MRP .... Under what Conditions MPS or MRP triggers, what are the main transactions involved for these Demand Program , MPS & MRP.
I want to whats the main differnece between MPS & MRP ....( Is MRP a subprocess of MPS??)  Please anyone Can elaborate it  in detail.
Links & Any Crisp detailed overview will be highly appreciated.
    Regards
    Balaji

    Hi
There are three types of MRP levels...MRP (Material Requirement Planning), MPS (Master Production Schedule) and CBP (Consumption Based Planning)
    <b>MPS is part of MRP</b>
In MPS you can plan important assemblies sepeartely (critical parts and which has much influence on the profit A type). You can mark the assemblies as MPS parts by assigning the <b>MRP types M0 to M4</b> in the material master MRP1 view.
The main difference between both MRP and MPS is that MPS is only good for single level BOM explosion and used for mainly Type A materials which has higher value and importance and planned carefully and greatly influence the company profits or those that require critical resources whereas MRP is used for mainly Type B and C materials
Main Idea is that Master production scheduling (MPS) is a form of MRP that concentrates planning on the parts or products that have the great influence on company profits or which dominate the entire production process by taking critical resources. These items are marked as ‘A’ parts (MPS items) and are planned with extra attention. These items are selected for a separate MPS run that takes place before the MRP run. The MPS run is conducted without a BOM explosion so that the MRP controller can ensure that the Master schedule items (MSI) are correctly planned before the detailed MRP run takes place.
<b>Transaction codes</b>: MPS can be run from MD41 (single item multi level) MD42 (single item single level) and MDBS (Background plant level MPS) & MD40 (Foreground / Online plant level)
Normal MRP can be run from MD02 (single item multi level), MD03 (single item single level) and MDBT (Background plant level MRP), MD01 (Online plant level)
Hope now u r cleared.....Please reward if found useful

  • Sales orders ans reservations not taken into account on MPS / MRP

    Hello,
I am implementing the MPS / MRP and I have the following problem:
I have modified the necessary material master fields to take into account some materials on the MPS / MRP execution. These fields are MRP type, Lot Size, Strategy group and Availability Check.
Then, executing the MPS / MRP I have realised that only the sales orders and reservations created after the material master modifications are taken into account when I execute the MPS / MRP.
I suppose this is because the sales orders and reservations created before the material master modifications did not create the requirements because the availability check was not set for the material and so on... but I need to take into account these "old" reservations and sales orders .
Is there any way to "update" these orders and reservations?? Or I need to delete them and create new ones??
There are several sales orders and reservations created before the material master modifications. I think there have to be an standard way to update them.
Thank you very much in advanced,
    Jordi.

    Dear,
Are you getting these reservation in MD04?
Check the Planning file entry for these material in MD21 if not then create it through MD20 and take MRP run with planning mode -3 Deleted and recreated. And Processing key NETCH.
Also check the The firmed receipt is within the rescheduling horizon. The rescheduling horizon is set in Customizing for the MRP group (Transaction OPPR, Table T438M). A default value can be predefined in the Customizing of plant data (Transaction OPPQ, Table T399D). define the longer duration for it.
The firmed receipt (the MRP element) participates in the rescheduling check. You can set which MRP elements participate in the rescheduling check in the Customizing of the plant data (Transaction OPPQ).
Else you can carry out modification A using the MD_CHANGE_MRP_DATA BAdI and the CONSIDER_RESB method without making a modification.

  • Error in scheduling parameters for production orders

    Hi Guys,
    Greeting for the day u2026u2026u2026.
I am trying to create production orders creation for own order  type ex MM01, but I am getting error message as u201C scheduling parameters are not defined for the order type u201C even though I have maintained following parameters as below,

Scheduling control for detailed scheduling ---backwards and check box of auto scheduling ticked
    Operation segment ---setup,
All operation in order will be reduce
    Do not reduce,
Could any one light on this issue,
    Thanks in advance,

    Hi,
This error will come if you have not maintained Define scheduling parameters for production orders.
Check this order type whether linked with respective plant in OPU3.*And give production scheduler * mark ie, all.*
And in Define production scheduling profile - OPKP, link your order type in the page below.
In material master work scheduling view, input production sch profile or prod scheduler.

  • Scheduling parameters are not defined for production orders

    Hi All,
when i convert the planned order to production order  i got this massage popup coming  Scheduling parameters are not defined for production orders . please let me know this .

    Hi,
One of major customization steps for the order type is missing. Run OPU3 and maintain settings for the order type you are using. You may copy settings from an older type.

  • Scheduling parameters in networks

    Hi
I have made a std. network thru CN01 and now when I try to include that std network into a new project , following problems come:  ( Iam actually trying to copy a project and a network from std templates)
    1. A pop up comes and says " You are trying to include a std network into hierarchy which has assigments to wbs elements, however the selected wbs does not corresponds to the assignments"  then two options come INCLUDE ASSIGNMENTS and IGNORE ASSIGNMENTS.
On selecting either one of two , a error comes saying " No scheduling parametrs defined for the network " and then it doesnt let me save the project with the network.
Something is missing in SPRO , but as I have checked I did not find anything missing. please suggest.
    Thanks,
    Dhruv

    Hi Dhruv kumar,
If my understand is correct....you have created one STD network and you want to assign that std network to other operative project....am i right?...
If above my understanding is correct......you might have missed the scheduling parameters configuration for plant and network type combination in the transaction OPU6...
In this step you define control parameters for scheduling depending on the plant, the type of network and the production scheduler, for example:
whether basic dates are to be adjusted if the network is shifted within the earliest/latest dates
    the scheduling type
whether or how many days the start date can be in the past
whether the dates are to be automatically recalculated on saving
whether the error log is automatically displayed if errors were calculated in scheduling
the number of days that the start date is in the past
the reduction type that defines whether all the operations should be reduced or only those on the critical path
    maximum reduction level for reduction
Please check once again whether you have done all the configuration required.

  • Showing non-MRP relevant Schedule Line category in MD04

We have a business requirement to show Quotations of non-MRP relevant schedule line category in MD04. We are at an initial stage of design. Is it possible to use any of the user-exits (during MD04 opening) that we can use to display such elements ? We were unable to find any workaround with the Select Filter option.

    Hi,
You might need to use program: SDRQCR21 to delete those faulty SO which appear in MD04. You may go to tcode:SA38 to run the program.
You may refer to my printscreen below for better understanding if you wish to.

  • Scheduler parameters

    Hi
Can we generate the scheduler parameters from SQL query? We need to call a script that takes arguments provided by Scheduler but every time we run the job we need to generate different parameters. Can we do that?
    Thanks

If your job is running in the database instance (ie it is not an external job) you can try to create a table containing the parameters and modify the job code to search for the right parameters in this table. See following example (for DBMS_JOB but should possible to adapt it for DBMS_SCHEDULER):

  • MPS/MRP Recommendations in 11i

When suggesstions are made in MPS/MRP what criteria is used to establish what jobs get cancelled and what jobs get rescheduled if net WIP is checked? Haven't been able to figure out the logic. Does it have to do with due date on job...or order quantity or what?
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi,
We also need help on the logic of MPS. We have a scenario as below which we can't understand why system suggests to reschedule out discrete jobs. Please kindly give me your advices.
    Thks,
    ITEM A
    Demand = 0
    Supply:
-Job A=100, start day = plan day + 3 days
-Job B=100, start day = plan day + 3 days
-Job C=5000, start day = plan day + 3 days
We run MPS under the following situations and get some result we can't figure out why:
    1. all jobs are not firmed:
==> system suggests to cancel 3 jobs
==> this is OK to us
    2. firm job A & B, and job C is not firmed
==> system suggests to cancel C
==> this is also OK to us
    3. firm job C only
==> system suggests to RESCHEDULE OUT job A & B
    ==> why??
We don't have min/max order qty for item A.

  • MPS & MRP

As i understand, MPS is single item, single level planning generally done for expensive items. we have md03 also in mrp for single item single level. then wht is the difference between two? thanks in advance.

    Hello,
Yes what you have observed is right but there are also following additional features of MPS which can be used (these are not there with single item multilevel run - md03.
    Planning Time Fence
You can protect the master plan from any automatic changes to master schedule items in the near future by using a planning time fence. Within the planning time fence, the system does not automatically schedule or change the procurement proposals. Therefore, the MRP controller has time to plan the master schedule items manually. However, to support the MRP controller, the system can create necessary procurement proposals and schedule them for the end of the planning time fence. You can then schedule these procurement proposals manually as you wish.
    Processing the Planning Result Interactively
With interactive planning, you can check the results of the automatic planning run for master schedule items with simple and easy-to-use tools and simulate changes and regenerative planning. The system does not save the planning data in the database until you save the interactive planning.
Interactive planning is especially useful for adjusting dates of planned orders falling within the planning time fence.
    Evaluating the MPS Run
With the help of the user-friendly structure of the planning results, you can react quickly and efficiently to any problems that may occur. A series of standard evaluations are available within MPS to achieve this. You can also generate individual evaluations according to your specific needs.
Hope this satisfies you. Award points if benefitted.

  • MRP - Problem in scheduling of MRP created schedule lines

    Hi,
I am working with single level BOM of FG and trying to generate Schedule lines for RM as per requirement coming from FG - BOM explosion during MRP run -
Material master setting of RM is  as below -
    MRP type - PD,
    Lot Size - Ex,
    Procurement type - F,
Planned dlv time - 14 days
i am getting dependent requirement as below -
    06.07.2009 - 2000 EA
    13.07.2009 - 1500 EA
    01.08.2008 - 1000 EA
And schedule lines are generated as below -
    06.07.2009 - 2000 EA
    13.07.2009 - 1500 EA
    01.08.2008 - 1000 EA
The date of schedule line should be after taking calculation of planned del time of the RM, which is not happening. I can't understand why?
The planned dlv time is same in all 1) Material Master 2) Scheduling agreement and 3) Pur info record
    Please help.
    Regards,
    Amol

    Dear Amol,
the date shown is the ultimate reciet date and not start date.
Since you have already converted PR into schedule lines you will not be able to see the actual start date.
If it was still a PR you can see the release date as planed delivery time days early.
If the requirements date was say 31/05/2009 and you were taking planning run today then the recieved date would come as 05/06/2009.that is 14 days from today.
if requirement well beyond planned delivery time then the planned delivery time will not reflect in recipt date.
