MQC Bandwidth Percenage Calculation

Hello Guys,
I want to setup qos bandwidth policing&priority. I want to allocate 50% of my Internet link bandwidth to the PRIORITY-QUEUE, and 50% of the bandwith for other Web-traffic and default-traffic.
My question is:   while i configure and give 50% bandwidth for priority-queue,     is that 50% calculated from the Fasthethet Interface bandwidth or it is automatically calculated from my  Internet-Bandwidth and allocates  50% from that bandwidth space.
To make it clear :  lets say a Fastethernet-Interface speed/bandwidth is bydefault  100-Mbps.  and lets say my Interface bandwidth which i have taken from ISP is  512-kbps.     so when i start to do bandwidth alllocation , and give 50% of interface bandwidth to priority-queue and 50% for other traffic.    how the allocation is calculated.....????
please instruct

Hi,
Please check whether WT /102 is available or not in the input table
Also you used which function to write PCR? ACTIO or something else??

  • MQC triggered automatically

    Hello all,
    I´m in pharmacy industry and Iu2019m using active ingredient management and MQC. I have 3 issues:
    BOM:
    Comp A: 10 KGA (1 Kg -> 1KGA potency 100%)
    Comp B: 10 Kg
    --> After batch determination:
    Comp A : 10,2 Kg (because potency 98%)
    Comp B must be adjusted to 9,8Kg
    1º) For component A is working fine in process order, but when I do COR6N (back flush) the system propose only 9,8 KGA instead of 10 KGA or 10,2 Kg.
    2º) To adjust the comp B the only way I know is MQC but this calculation bust be executed after the batch determination of comp A in order to have the real potency. The batch determination is triggered on order release, there is some way to trigger the MQC automatically, coping the result to order, and only after batch determination of comp A?
    3º)There is some way to make batch determination in KGA but in the order materials tab see the component quantity as 10, 2 Kg instead of 10KGA?
    Thanks in advance.

    Hello Syed Noor ul Haque,
    Thanks in first place.
    My only question now is regarding the backflush. The system is still proposing the quantity to consume in alternative unit and with wrong quantity.
    My ex:
    Comp A = 10Kg.
    I´ve used 10 KI1 (alternative UOM) and the system is working fine. After batch determination for a batch with potency: 98% the system propose in RESB 10,2Kg but in COR6n is proposing the inverse: 9,8 KI1.  Any idea on this?
    Thanks in advance.

  • Cannot get video calls to work on two 9971 phones.

    we are using two 9971 phones, both have the cameras enabled, and the preview video button works, but we do not get video on any calls.
    camera has been enabled in the Enterprise Phone parameter.
    CUCM 7.1.5.1
    so, we should be fine for service pack level.  anyone have any ideas?  both phones are set to "auto transmit" video.

    Ok, now you'll need to do a few things for real-life:
    Adjust the per-call bandwidth (region) and total bandwidth (location) on CUCM. The table below will help you calculate what values to plug into the fields.
    Note, there are system-wide inter-region default values under Service Parameters. Set that first and then set the fewer one-offs on the regions/locations individually.
    The 9900 series phones support several different video resolutions per the data sheet on Table 6.
    Bandwidth consumption for each of the supported resolutions is not well documented; however, the CSF-based clients release notes actually mention it on Table 11 provide a table. Note that CSF may not support the exact same list of resolutions so use this only as a guideline.
    Do not forget to update your QoS configuration. Be careful not to undersize the video queue; this traffic is bursty unlike voice.

  • Clarification on the SHOW TOP command

    Does anyone know much about the Show Top command? I am trying to get specs on the bandwidth utilization of a port. When
    I do the Top command it tells me a percent of utilization. However it looks to be too low. I verified the util using a traffic generator test set and it has results of almost double the util. that the Top command stated. So my thoughts are that if the port is set for 100/Full then the Top stats for Util show only half Dux. Is this so??? I think that I need to double the Top results for util and that will be the true Util for the port. Can anyone verify this????

    you are kind of correct, that it will look like a half duplex utilization because process actually bundles the TX AND rx into the same counter and it also looks at the full duplex bandwidth when calculating the % utilization. So a GE port is really 2000Mbps full-duplex. so, from the traffic generator you are sending at line rate of 1 Gig, the TOP will see that as 50% utilization. Does that make sense. This is how I understand it.

  • Getting Started with Streaming...

    We want to stream some live video to about 100 clients. Is there a tutorial or how-to document that will step us through what software we need from Apple, bandwidth requirements/calculations that someone can point us to?

    You need to find a Host (server) that provides streaming. Not all providers provides streaming. You need to find out from the provider how much it will cost you. Google it.
    Apple doesn't provide streaming on their servers. Apple only has progressive download of video from their servers.

  • 2960x stacking confusion

    Hi all,
    I am getting confused in understanding 2960x stacking
    1) What is meant by a ring ? i mean if i connect 2 switches together with a single stack cable, will that be a ring ? or half ring ?
    2) How 80 gbps stacking bandwidth is calculated ?

    Under the product at Cisco.com there is a paper on stacking:
    Cisco Catalyst 2960-S, 2960-X, and 2960-XR Stacking with FlexStack and FlexStack-Plus Technology: Description, Usage, and Best Practices
    http://www.cisco.com/en/US/prod/collateral/switches/ps5718/ps12995/white_paper_c11-728327.html
    A single FlexStack connection between two 2960 stack members is a full-duplex 10Gbps connection. A single FlexStack-Plus connection between two 2960-X members is full-duplex 20Gbps. Each Cisco Catalyst 2960-S and 2960-X and 2960-XR member supports two FlexStack connections, which doubles the line rate. Each FlexStack member can simultaneously send and receive Ethernet traffic over both stack links at line rate, effectively giving 40Gbps of stack bandwidth per 2960-X member and 20Gbs of stack bandwidth per 2960-S member. When two or more 2960-X members are stacked together, the effective stack bandwidth is 80Gpbs because each member is capable of sending and receiving 40Gbps simultaneously. Same for 2960-S, the effective stack bandwidth is 40Gbps because multiple members are sending and receiving 20Gbps simultaneously. (See Table 1.)
    Table 1. Comparison of FlexStack-Plus, FlexStack and StackWise-480

    FlexStack Cabling
    Special cables are used to connect Cisco Catalyst 2960 Series Switches together in a stack. These special FlexStack cables can only be used to stack Cisco Catalyst 2960 switches with other Cisco Catalyst 2960 switches that support FlexStack. Figure 4 shows a picture of two FlexStack cables connected to a fully inserted FlexStack module. Notice how the tabs on the cables are on opposite sides of each other. The FlexStack cables are keyed as well. Besides the tabs needing to be away from each other, the keying of the metal portion of the connector prevents the cable from being connected incorrectly.
    Figure 4. FlexStack Module with Cables
    When each member in the stack has two operational FlexStack links, then the stack is operating in a fully redundant mode. The dual FlexStack connections from each member to two other members are what provide the redundancy. Should any single FlexStack connection break or cease to operate, then the switches in the stack will use the remaining FlexStack connection that is provided.
    Deployment Topologies
    Figure 5 shows a three-member stack with full bandwidth and with redundant FlexStack connections.
    Figure 5. Fully Redundant Three-Member Stack
    When one FlexStack link is not present, the stack still functions. Figure 6 shows a stack with incomplete FlexStack cabling. In Figure 6, all data traffic passes through the middle member. This stack is operating in a nonredundant mode. This stack provides only half of the possible bandwidth between members and does not have redundant connections. Only the middle member has full stack bandwidth. The top and bottom members are operating at half the fully redundant stack bandwidth. The fully redundant stack bandwidth for 2960-X and 2960-XR is 40Gbps per member. The fully redundant stack bandwidth for 2960-S is 20Gbps per member.
    Figure 6. Nonredundant Three-Member Stack
    As you can see in the picture above there can only be 20 Gbps per direction sent because there is one cable missing to complete the ring. The middle switch is also a single point of failure.

  • Bandwidth Calculation based on Network IP Address on SNMP Cisco 3750

    Dear All,
    Instead of getting bandwidth calculation on cisco switch via snmp for total in and out or based on port, is it possible to get the calculation of bandwidth for in and out for the C Class IP on the network ? That mean i can get the calculation for each of my network IP address from the Cisco, what i'm doing now is to get from my bridge server and i run the iptables and some bash script and also MRTG
    Please advice. TQ

    Hi Abhi,
    you're welcome. Thanks for rating & marking as answered!
    I have CISCO 6503 box also with me. Could you please confirm if feature would be supported on 6503 ethernet ports or not?
    Have a look at the Release Notes:
    http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/switches/lan/catalyst6500/ios/12.2SXF/native/release/notes/features.html#wp2800031
    "New Software Features in Release 12.2(18)SXF2
    Support with Supervisor Engine 2 for these features, which are already supported with other Supervisor Engines:
    - IP unnumbered for VLAN-SVI interfaces
    -VLANs over IP unnumbered sub-interfaces"
    I have to say I've never done this so far on a c6500 but I think you can rely on the RN.

  • ASA5510 VPN Bandwidth Calculations

    Were running an ASA5510 with multiple IPSEC VPN clients over a 100Mb leased line. At the moment we have about 10 active clients however we are looking at gearing up to about 100 clients.
    Question is, is there a known method for calculating the required bandwidth for this number of clients or indeed obtaining metrics from already connected clients to help with this calculation.
    We have tried a few monitoring products, most notably Solarwinds, however none of the products we have tried seems to be able to give us the throughput of the individual VPN connections to assist with our calcs....

    Hi Rob,
    Check  out VPNTTG (VPN Tunnel Traffic Grapher) is a software for SNMP  monitoring and measuring the traffic load for IPsec  (Site-to-Site,  Remote Access) and SSL (With Client, Clientless) VPN  tunnels on a Cisco  ASA. It allows the user to see traffic load on a VPN  tunnel over time  in graphical form.
    Advantage of VPNTTG over other SNMP based monitoring software's is   following: Other (commonly used) software's are working with static OID   numbers, i.e. whenever tunnel disconnects and reconnects, it gets   assigned a new OID number. This means that the historical data,  gathered  on the connection, is lost each time. However, VPNTTG works  with VPN  peer's IP address and it stores for each VPN tunnel  historical  monitoring data into the Database.
    For more information about VPNTTG please visit www.vpnttg.com

    Hi,
    By capturing packets it wont help to calculate the bandwidth requirement genral practices and approach is you need to consider the concurrency usage ratio from single PC based on which you can determine the bandwidth to be subscribed from your service provider.You also need to check out whether upload or the download traffic.
    Best practice also would be to subscribe for lesser bandwidth for short duration and observe the peak/average usage on the links and based on that you can decide the actual bandwidth requirement for your facility.
    Hope to Help !!

  • Calculating Bandwidth

    How to calculate total bandwidth utilization of a circuit if i have In and Out data rate? Is there any formula?

    Um, monitoring the circuit using MRTG or something similar would be a good way of doing this. To work out the average utilization, you could do the following: Average_Input=Total_Input (in BITS)/ Time (in SEC), Avg_Out=Total_Out (BITS) / Time (sec)
    Eg:
    Last clearing of "show interface" counters 11w3d
    Input queue: 0/75/0 (size/max/drops); Total output drops: 2051
    Queueing strategy: weighted fair
    Output queue: 0/1000/64/2046 (size/max total/threshold/drops)
    Conversations 0/81/256 (active/max active/max total)
    Reserved Conversations 0/0 (allocated/max allocated)
    30 second input rate 33000 bits/sec, 3 packets/sec
    30 second output rate 7000 bits/sec, 2 packets/sec
    53836304 packets input, 2893045321 bytes, 0 no buffer
    Received 0 broadcasts, 1384 runts, 3 giants, 0 throttles
    1424 input errors, 2 CRC, 0 frame, 0 overrun, 0 ignored, 16 abort
    58226253 packets output, 1732843968 bytes, 0 underruns
    Avg_Input=2893045321bytes / 11w3d
    Avg_Input=23144362568bits / 80days so
    Avg_Inout=23144362568bits / 6912000seconds... Therefore
    Avg_Input=3348 bits-per-second (bps) (Hehe, this is on a T3, the customer is paying us for a T3 for an average of 3.3kbps!)
    This is purely an average. They could have been idle for 11w2day and then apssed all of the traffic in the last day. Without historical data there is not way of knowing...

  • MQC Once Bandwidth Hits 90%

    We currently have bandwdith congestion on many of our WAN links.
    Once a link utilization reaches 90%, I want to start dropping traffic.
    How can I create an MQC to drop any host traffic that is using more that 10% once the curcuit hits the 90% ceiling? I want to have one simple MQC template to apply to different interface speeds (ie T1, T3, etc.). Thanks in advance.

  • Calculating bandwidth costs??

    Id like to calculate the per transaction costs of my app
    its pretty much a timer that goes off every 3.5 secs, connects to some server, downloads a chunk of data for processing..it isnt exactly streamed...
    heres the code
    myURL = new URL (someAddy);
    myURLConnection = (HttpURLConnection)myURL.openConnection();
    myURLConnection.setRequestMethod("POST");
    myURLConnection.setDoOutput(true);
    BufferedReader input = new BufferedReader(new InputStreamReader(myURLConnection.getInputStream()));
    while (null != (str = input.readLine())) {
        processString = processString + str + "\n";
    input.close();so im guessing "input" is the chunk of data that is retrieved every 3.5 secs..how can i determine the size of it?
    byte[] bytes = input.toString().getBytes();
    int total = 0;
    for(int i=0; i<bytes.length; i++){
        total += bytes;
    System.out.println("Size at: " + i + " " + bytes[i] + " total: " + total);
    heres the typical output of this: Size at: 29 54 total: 2656
    so it looks like at element 29 of the byte[], totals 54 bytes, but the accumlation of elements 0-29 is 2,656 bytes?
    of course this probably doesnt input packet headers, check sums and all that
    anyone know of a better more accurate way of doing this?
    i tried using network monitoring software "NetLimiter" which gives me the average downloaded # of Bytes...but my boss wants a "per transaction number"
    shrug
    thanks for the help

    Won't the exact number vary based on the contents of the request and the reply.
    The only reliable way to detremine the number and size of the packets is to use a network sniff. You boss may decide she doesn't need to know the exact number that much.

  • DMS server sizing calculation

    HI Gurus,
    My client has given that Finance department is generating documents around 20 GB  per month (includes all types of format) now i have to create the Server sizing for this 20 GB kindly help on how to proceed. Is there is any standard calculation for this.
    Regards
    Kannan

    Recommended approach for managing Finance documents is SAP Archivelink solution(refer previous posts in forum).
    Content server sizing is a separate exercise that you need to carry out in conjunction with your Basis team and the customer. Capture details along parameters like Office/Plant from where docs would be accessed, the available network bandwidth,number of users,number of transactions per day,maximum size of a single file,number of documents generated/day that would be uploaded and the growth plan for the next 3 years.Once done,the Basis team will provide you with details like CPU,RAM,OS,bandwidth and hard disk space that would be needed from which the cost can be calculated.
