Mr Magoo has problems with the small font print in the "Everything Mac" man

Well thanks to a one year no payments offer by my local Future Shop i purchased the iMac 3.0.6GHz.
However the "Everything Mac" manual and other enclosed printed documents are printed in extremely small fonts.
Is there a download site for a pdf version which may allow me to print or view the instructions in larger print.
Lordy, SteveJobs must have extremely good vision.

If you find a PDF copy such as this http://manuals.makeuseof.com.s3.amazonaws.com/the-mac-manual.pdf - open that in Safari and zoom to your heart's delight.
As well, go to System Preferences/Universal Access and see if any options there help out.
And finally, if you also have the new Magic Mouse, simply hold down on the Control Key on your keyboard and 'scroll' with one finger fore/aft on the mouse top to zoom with ease.

Just a note....be sure that manual is current with the OS version on your new computer - things have changed in many ways and if you're learning, you should learn in sync, etc.

Were there graphics card problems with the 2006 Mac Pros?

I'm curious about the ATI 2600 graphics card issues occuring with the new Mac Pro's using Leopard...

The reason I'm asking is my Dual 867 has finally given up the ghost and needs to be replaced and I have the opportunity to buy a new 2 Dual-Core 2.66GHZ Mac Pro with Tiger loaded in lieu of the newer, problem ridden models.

Firefox fails to open saying it has problems with the profile.

It will open if the path is specified in Terminal, and the profile appears to be located in the correct place. Profile Manager is inaccessible. I should note it's on a friends computer not my own and he seems to have moved about quite a lot of stuff, he's also broken DVD player

Are you using an NTLM proxy? There is a known problem with that which will be fixed in beta 7. This thread has more details - [/questions/751415]

UIX has problem with the limit on the length of url in Internet Explorer

I have a UIX page with 4 tabs. The number of textbox and dropdown list is large in each tab. When I do a form submit, all the properties' name (textbox and dropdown list) and it's value are submitted automatically by UIX as part of the url string.
The problem is, the limitation of the url string will make my submit action failed when the url string is too long. Netscape seems dont have this limitation of url string but just too bad that our main browser will be IE.
Moreover, for my login page, when I press the submit button to login, the password is submitted as a url string also, which reveal the user's password!!
Could I turn off the auto submition of those properties & value in my page as part of the url string? Because I can use binding control to get and set their value, there is no need to submit everything.
Does anyone knows how to solve this problem? Thanks!

Anyone having a crashing problem with the new Mac Pro?

I have a new Mac Pro purchased in January. I bought it as a front end to my very large mp3 library (170,000 mp3s and over 2,000 mp4s; media is housed on a 12 TB QNAP NAS). Since day 1 it has been a major problem. The biggest problem I have now is random crashing--can occur any time even when I am not even using the Mac Pro, making it totally unreliable and a $5,200 paperweight.
I have had several Apple Care people working on this, but after having been passed around to 5-6 different people, they still have no solution.
Anybody having a similar problem?

As today I'm sure I'll not make the purchase again.
The more I look into this problem, the more people and articles I find about it: and it's more than a month and no update to fix the problem.
PC alternatives are far more interesting and they still give you the choice of building your machine.
Apple was amazing 15 years ago, where is the team of developpers that created the old Mac Pro?!
I want to be optimistic too, but I'm already collecting all the info on how to build an backup machine... since I'm using Adobe CC and other interchangeable softwares, there is no more problems swithcing from Mac to PC and vice-versa.
I hope there will be a third contender entering the market soon, with a dream computer on Linux. I am on mac because of its reputation 20 years ago, but times are changing and Apple vision seems very different now.
I'm afraid that WWDC will not announce a thing relevant for the MacPro or computers, we got used now to ear only about phones and tablets...

Problems with the latest MAC wireless key Board board

I recently purchased the most recent wireless MAC keyboard and it worked great for a whle and now I am having problems.
The ALT key will not give me the @ symbol have to get it from the special characters menu, instead I get ™, have tried new batteries, resetting nothing seems to help. I have not downloaded Mountain Lion.
Any suggestions

It sounds like your input language might have been changed. Open your Langage & Text control panel and make sure it is set appropriately under "input sources".

Problem with too small fonts

Hi, after some update I've noticed my fonts are too slow on some websites, especially it applies for Google Mail:

Google Reader is barely readable too, as well as some other pages. I've tried using Camino - the display is fine (not sure about Shiira, but I don't think it's WebKit rendering problem).
Is anyone experiencing this too?
Of course it's possible to increase the font size manually with Command - +, but this way some fonts are too big, while the other ones - ok. This annoyance led me to setting Camino as a default browser.

To all of you if you happen to have same problem: reinstalling Safari helps .
P.S. Although it was a huge shock when Safari 3 Public Beta refused to install. Try inserting Mac OS X first instalation disk given with your computer and install Safari 2 first. Then Safari 3 Beta follows .

Does anyone has problem with the Glossary tab in RB8?

The glossary tab does'nt show on *CHM file. Does anyone has that problem?
1) Install RH8 on XP SP2 and register hhactivex.dll
2) Start RH8
3) Create new project.
4) Click on '+' sign of Glossary from Project Manager to expand it and double click the Glossary(Default) to show the GLossary Pod.
5) Type 'First' in the Term input field on the Glossary Pod, and click the + button to add it.
6) Go to the 'Definition for :first section of the Pod and type in 'First'
7) Save and generate the CHM file
This is the first time I create a new project in RH8 with Glossary.
If I import a previous project created with RoboHelp for Office X4 which has Glossary, and convert project to RH8 format and generate the CHM file, then the CHM file has the Glossary tab.
I can't possibly beleive it is a bug in RH8 . However, what mistake did I make?
This happens on XP SP2, RH 8.0.0.0.203, on XP SP3 with RH 8.0.2.208, on Win7 with RH 8.0.2.208. Basically, it doesn't matter on what PC we install RH8, doesn't matter how many time you register hhactivex.dll, the glossary tab never shows up. Howver, it shoes up on Winhelp.

No, I don't believe they are ameteurs. Besides, some ameteurs do better work than "professionals".
To be fair, some bugs are elusive. We may see them and report them but when the development team examines things they repeatedly and stubbornly fail to reveal themselves.

My iphone 4G has problem with the audio jack flex cable.

My iphone 4G has a problem and its already been out of warranty and i dont know which carrier it was purchased since its 2nd hand when i bought it.

There are no legitimate sources for iPhone parts anywhere. Apple does not sell parts.

Adobe updates: I've gotten error messages when trying to download pdfs (very annoying). Read somewhere that mac os has problems with the adobe extensions, thus, causing error messages from adobe. I ignore the updates. Should I?

I have stopped updating adobe software b/c I read that the adobe update software inserts extensions into the mac software system, causing annoying/time consuming error messages when downloading new pdfs. I get adobe update notices 2-3x/week. What do you recommend? I use an iMac OS 10.94.

my x-treme gamer doesn`t like headsets my old speed link and my new hs-900 doesnt work, windows doesnt recognize them, i've tried to activate mic boost and deactivate it, nothing works, i have coneccted it through my front connectors in my case i can hear sound but mic never works.
Also i got another problem, my master volume is only on 40% when i go over it its to loud even when my speaker are at volume 0 i hear something. also when i plug my headset in it can be that i have weird sounds. also i have to reinstall my card all 4-5 days because its not in the device manage rin windows, i think the card is defect maybe

Do you have any other USB devices plugged into the pc? If you do, please remove them to see if it makes a difference. You can also try connecting the webcam to a different USB port.

Why is my Pages and Numbers no longer working? Seems they both now have a problem with the latest Mac OS X Update

I Have a Macbook Pro and always update the OS so it is current. It is now Mac OS X Lion 10.7.4 (11E53)
I purchased a copy of Pages and Numbers online a few months back and had no problems using them. Pages version is 4.2 and Numbers is 2.2
Today they both give me the same message - 'Pages cannot be opened because of a problem' - it then asks me to report it to a Developer.
It says I may need to re-install the software - but how do I do this if I purchased it via the online Appstore? Here's the first few lines of the report;

Anyone else having problems with the new Mac Mavericks update? I get static sound at random times now?

Macbook 2009 does static sound on google chrome and so does my mac desktop. This is all started under Mavericks 10.9.2 for me.

Nevermind I fixed it. Atleast I think I did, I just set my audio to 24-bit and 9600khz or whatever its called and it sounds clear now. At least I hope that fixed the problem.

Pdf reader X has problems with small pdf and printer with post script driver

Hi friends.
I have installed new Reader X and then i saw that, when i print a very small pdf with about 50 kb and i print it on a Laserjet 4000 printer the printer has problem with the amount of data that reader 10 produces.
When i install a Postscript driver for the printer my computer makes up to 3.5MB printer data from a 50kb pdf.
When i install a PCL driver for the printer my computer makes only 350kb from the same 50kb pdf file!!!!
When i install Reader 9.3 the 50kb file becomes also only 350kb on the printer with post script driver, and i can print without problems also.
my printer has 8 MB Ram and that should be enough for 3.5MB printer data.
But when i print the pdf with 1 side only, the printer created a side who is only filled with 50% of the text, then there comes out a second page with the message.....not enough memory in the printer.
i can not change the postscript driver to a pcl driver cause our ERP System can not handle printer with PCL drivers.
Can someone help me please.........are there settings in Reader X who can solve my problem ???
