MRP alerts in APO Amon1

Has anyone tried to pull R/3 MRP alerts into the APO alert
Monitor? One of the SAP notes I found says that we have to
create "user views" in R/3 and once we do it, these user views
should show up in APO Alert monitor ( in MRP Alerts profile
tab). Can somebody please let me know where these user views are
created in R/3? I am on SCM 5.0.

Can I ask the reason why you folks even considered pulling MRP alerts into APO ?
Our scenario here is that we have SNP for medium to long term planning and the short term planning(30 days out) is integrated with R/3 PP(No PPDS). Here are the reasons why I was even looking into pulling MRP alerts into APO:
1) MRP messages are very detailed and order specific and they also tell the user whether to schedule an order in or out.
Do you think there is a way for SNP Alerts to do this? I know that SNP is not meant for that but was just wondering if there is a way to do give out alerts which have detailed information(order specific and whether an order needs to be scheduled in or out) like MRP Messages.
2) These messages show up only in MD04 interactively and the idea was to pull these messages into APO and use the Alert notification functionality within APO to notify users.
Please let me know your thoughts.

  • Transaction data in MRP areas in APO

    Hi,
    We are using storage location MRP areas in APO.In ECC we have a storage location  5000 under  plant 1000. We have defined storage location as MRP area and transferred to APO. Now we have two locations in APO one is 1000 and another location 5000 (with location type 1007).one material is existing in both these locations. We have a forecast in location 5000 and a Pur requisition is created for this material in 5000 after SNP heuristics. We are able to see the Pur Requisition in 5000 location in the product view.But when we are looking in 1000 location in the product view,we are not able to see the same purchase requisition.Is this standard functionality or am i missing any setting?
    In ECC we can see the same purchase requisition in both the MRP areas in 5000 and 1000 in MD04. But the same is not in APO? we are not able to see in 1000 plant in product view but could see in 5000 location in product view.
    Any one has this issue?

    Hello Chandrakanth,
    Check if the storage MRP area is not been transfered to APO as Plant.
    Take a look on note 896482, perhaps it can helps in analyze how you are CIFing the MRP areas to APO.

  • MRP controller to APO product planner

    Hi,
    I want to use product planner as MRP controller to run PP heuristics.
    What I have done is as follows:
    1. I create planner in APO: Advanced Planning & Optimization->Supply Chain Planning->Specify Person Responsible(Planner)
    2. In ECC, I use exit CIFMAT01 to change CT_CIF_MATLOC-PLANNR_PPS according to IT_MARC-DISPO.
    But after CFM2, the product planner in /SAPAPO/MAT1 is still null.
    Is there anything wrong?

    Rui, This is what we did to accomplish this:
    In the R/3 User exit include ZXCIFUSERU08,
      Loop at IT_MATLOC where METHOD = ‘N’ (For each new product location),
      Read IT_MARC with key Material, Plant.
      If not IT_MARC-DISPO IS INITIAL.
      Set IT_MATLOC-PLANNR_PPS = IT_MARC-DISPO
    (Copy MRP Controller on to APO Production Planner)
      Update the change table (IT_MATLOCX)
      Endloop.

  • MRP type field in Product view of APO

    I am developing a querry based report on product master of APO for reconcillation purpose.
    I couldnt find field MRP type in product master (/sapapo/mat1) also couldnt track any table which will report MRP type to me.
    Could you please help me in this.

    Hi Sachin,
    You will not find MRP type in APO system, the reason is only specific MRP type have flexibility to plan in APO, that means SAP standard.
    MRP type X0 means external planning - APO system.

  • Alert Monitor config

    Experts,
    I was been trying to working on setting up the Alert Monitor in APO. But I am not sure how to configure and make it work. Till now I have done the following:
    Created the Alert profile with AMON1 in the application specific alert profile.
    Selected the alert type-Availability Check Shortage.
    Defined the location/product
    Linked the alert profile to overall alert profile.
    Saved
    Created an order wherein the availability was short.
    It goes to APO for rule based atp wherein the order is not completely confirmed.
    Checked the alert profile in that screen but I see no alerts.
    Do let me know if I am doing it the right way. If not then please let me know the way to configure the alert monitor.

    Hi Karan, I think you need to run alert determination in /sapapo/amon1 for the overall profile.

  • Subcontract MRP Area with quota usage - urgent

    We have a subcontractor supplying assembly X which in turn require us to supply component Y to the subcontractor. We have two vendor for supplying component Y to subcontractor. Scheduling agreement with component vendors are set up for direct delivery to subcontractor. Both the scheduling agreements are included in the source list with MRP indicator 2. Quota arrangement is set up for the component.
    We have set subcontractor MRP area and assigned the same to component Y material master. Special procurement key 20 is assigned in subcontractor MRP area. Quota usage and source list are duly enabled. Quota usage indicator is 3 which provides for MRP, PR, schedule line etc.,
    When we run MRP ffor component Y for subcontract MRP area, system is generating schedule line for but without update quota file. Further, the scheduling agreement picked up is not of the correct vendor as per Quota logic.
    Does SAP support quota usage with subcontract MRP area. If not, is there a work around.

    Dear Ravi,
    you will get a seperate location product for your material. MRP areas in apo are represented by a seperate location (type 1007 = storage location mrp area). You can transfer your ecc mrp areas via cif (CFM1). The master data you maintain in mrp section of the material master in R/3 will be trasfered to that location product. Furthermore you can maintain it manually in apo MAT1 (location = name of your mrp area). That technique provides you the possibility to maintain different parameters for the plant and the mrp area.

  • MApping of MRP Controller in SCM

    Hi Friends,
       I am a bit unsure of integration of MRP Controller between ECC and APO.
    My understanding is that the MRP Controller field in automatically populated into the SNP or any other Planner field in APO when the material is integrated. We need the user exit EXIT_/SAPAPO/SAPLCIF_PROD_001 to populate the value into the Extras field .
    Is my understanding correct ? or do we need the user exit to populate the MRP controller into APO ?

    Hi Ranjini.
    There is something else you need to be careful of here.
    In ECC, MRP Controllers are configured at the plant level, whereas in APO planners are configured globally.
    This can lead to the situation where you are trying to map many to one.
    For example, MRP Controller '001' in Plant X = Traded Goods but MRP Controller '001' in Plant Y = Manufactured Goods. You would only be able to create 1 '001' planner in APO.
    This would mean that you have to create an APO planner for each MRP Controller/Location combination, meaning you couldn't use the same numbering convention as the MRP Controllers.

  • View order numbers created by PPDS MRP

    Hi,
          We are running PPDS MRP with shelf life, MRP with NEW shelflife w/ lot size profile and optimization or resources etc.
    For these MRP runs, I can see the results in /SAPAPO/RRPLOG1 - Display Logs.
    My problem here is, it tell me that it created/changed pegging for some 10 orders and 10 planned orders created and so on but I want to see the actual order number created/changed.
    Also are these results saved to any db tables? if so, I would appreciate if any once can refer me to the table names.

    Hello,
    1) Storage of MRP results: In APO more or less, all the Transaction data is stored in Live Cache & not in database tables. If you want to read the stored data, certain BAPI's are available to extract the data from Live Cache.
    2) Display of Planning results: If you want to develop any custom report to display planning output, you may have to develop custome report by extracting data from LC as mentioned above.
    Also there are some standard transactions / reports to display result. Please check if they are useful
    1) /SAPAPO/RRP3- Product view
    2) /SAPAPO/CDPS_REPT - Order and Resource Reporting
    3) /SAPAPO/PPL1 - Production List

  • How set up alert Monitor with available to promise profile?!

    Gurus,
    I read a lot of notes about alert profile but I ´ve been in doubt.
    I set the monitor alert in /sapapo/amon1:
    - Selected alert type
    - Selected some products and my allocation
    - Assigned alert profile - defined the bucket
    Check instruction:
    - Activated "ATP Alert Act."
    I vent seen any place to assign my alert profile in /sapapo/bop. Is it possible or necessary?
    When I redetermine the alerts for my profile in /sapapo/amon1 any alerts are showed.
    I don´t want to use macros to create alert.
    I created a scenary to see an alert:
    My scenary
    Availability: 100
    Order confirmed: 100
    I changed my orders to 50.
    Availability: 50
    Order confirmed: 100
    Execute alert monitor
    Result: No warning

  • Alert Profiles

    Hi All,
    I have a Issue with Alert profile the description of the same is under.
    We have configured an alert profile to generate Alerts for 7 Months(future periods) and I have assigned the same to my Userid so that I can see the alerts in the Interactive Demand Planning screen.
    When I call the Alerts screen from the Interactive demand Planning screen, I am able to see the alerts for all the seven months, however when I am checking the alerts from Alert monitor (/SAPAPO/AMON1), I am able to see alerts for only one month i.e the current month.
    Can anybody suggest as to where I am going wrong?

    Hi Raghu,
    Check whether you have assigned any selection IDs in your Alert Profile. You generally do this along with the planning book / data view assignment in your alert profiles. If you have assigned a specific selection ID to your alert profile, only alerts generated for those selection data is displayed in your alert profile. In interactive planning, you can however see alerts generated for other data as well. It is probably this difference that you are seeing in your case.

  • RIMODINI for CIF Object: [MRP Area Matl, MRP Areas]

    Hi Experts,
    We have Material maintained at MRP areas in R/3. Integration model is maintained with CIF object : [MRP Area Matl, MRP Areas] to bring the new material master at MRP Area changes through Delta mode(CFM3), but the changes to existing material in Integration model at MRP Area does not come over immediately to APO and not through DELTA mode.
    We have to execute Report: RIMODINI to bring the changes of existing material master changes at MRP Area level to APO. Since its a performance intensive it takes too long  to execute to bring changes over to APO.
    Is there alternative method of bringing the existing material master changes at MRP area level for CIF object : [MRP Area Matl, MRP Areas] to APO without executing RIMODINI.

  • Need Help on MRP Storage Locations

    Hi
    I'm having an issue with APO MRP areas.
    The scenario is, I have SMI (supplier managed inventory) and client managed inventory in two storage locations with different stocking types in ECC. The two storage locations are physically separated but they are under same plant. If I have to plan this in APO I have to create 2 MRP areas to distinguish b/w SMI and client storage location. When I Cif this storage locations to APO it will be treated as separate location with location type 1007. When there is a requirement from Client and when I run the planning run STR are generated (since I have maintained transportation lanes b/w them) against SMI and I need to send this STR's to ECC and do the execution. So my query is how ECC will consider this STR's that are generated from the planning run , and how execution will take place. Mean to say how the goods movement happens in ECC. Is there any setting need to be done apart from setting MRP area storage locations, MRP area materials, Creating Integration model, activating integration model. Setting up transportation lane b/w client location>>SMI location.

    I appreciate for your quick response. From your reply you mean to say that the MRP Areas storage locations will be identified as separate Locations in APO. Is that what you mean?
    I agree. And I have modelled this in my system. Two storage location under the same plant are defined as two MRP areas in ECC and then I have CIFed these MRP areas to APO which are identified as two separate locations. I have maintained Transporation Lanes b/w this.When I created forecast(200 ea) manually in Product view for Location 1 (which is our company storage location) and when I run the Heuristics a purchase requisition for 200 quanity is created for SMI location 2. When again if I run the heuristic or save the results a Stock Transfer Reservation is generated. This is the expected results from APO planning.
    My question is when i generate the STR's in APO, how this STR's will get executed in ECC (How goods movements happen). ECC team says that they cannot use STR's for executing the goods movement. Is that right?
    Since SAP has provided  MRP Areas Storage Location functionality in SAP APO there should be a way to execute this STR's in ECC. Can you please give any valuable recommendations.
    ****I have a new issue for now. When I'm  trying to transfer the STR's from APO to ECC the STR's are not getting CIFed to ECC. I have selected the Manual reservation as the section criteria and my intergreatrion model is active with no CIF errors. Can anyone tell me if I'm missing any CIF/Master data setting.

    We are having multiple MRP areas within a distribution center. The sales history is available in R3 with the associated sloc as the delivering sloc.
    Can i get this history in DP , do a forecast & release it on MRP areas in APO? What are the precautions to take care in this cycle.

    If you want to do forecast in MRP area level in DP, than follow the below steps:
    1. CIF MRP area to APO using integration model.( MRP area will be appeared in APO as Location)
    2. Create a characteristic with MRP Area.
    3. Do forecasting at MRP area level or dis-aggregate to MRP area level.
    4. Release the forecast to ECC.
