MRP area deletion

Dear experts,
There are few items (C class) for which we initially defined MRP area but now we dont want .
Is there any settings ,so that requirement should generate on plant level & not on the MRP area .

Hi
(a) In MRP area view you can mark MRP type as ND for all these C class matls and ensure valid mrp types are assigned in the Plant level MRP 1 view.
(b) Ensure that SLoc indicator is "BLANK" in MRP 4 view , i.e Sloc is planned at plant level MRP as well.
(c) You can do this in Mass transcations "Mm17"
(e) Stop the MRP job(if u have separate job for C calss materilas)
(f) ELSE the other option is that in SCope of planning "Om0e" add this MRP area under the Plant MRP area.

MD04 - Subreq - Storage location MRP area

Hi all,
I have an issue of Subreq in MD04 which is not assigned to the the good MRP area.
I'm explaining :
Business process
   -> I work with a subcontractor
        case 1 : either I buy raw material to be processed and delivered it directly to my subcontractor
        case 2 : either I send raw material from my physical stock to my subcontractor
   -> I create subcontracting purchase order with indication as components, the raw material.
   -> In case of the components are already in my subcontractor (case 1), the reservation (Subreq) should not consume my physical stock.
   -> In case of the components are in my physical stock (case 2), the reservation (Subreq) should consume the physical stock.
Solution choosen
Then I decided to create a storage location MRP area : "EXTERN" as External.
I assigned a storage location "EXT" to this MRP area.
I assigned this MRP area to the material in MRP1 / MRP Area.
In the purchase order, in the components popup,
For case 1 : I assigned "EXT" as Prod.Stor.Loc and Supply area
For case 2 : nothing special is filled
Issue
For the case 1, althought I assigned the storage location "EXT", the Subcontractor Requirement is not attached to the good MRP area.
WHY?
Remark : I didn't use the subcontracting MRP area because I would like to have 2 cases : case 1 & case 2.

Your system is working as designed. The following note explains the system design in more detail:

Take a look on the relevant information provided by this note below:
Reason and Prerequisites
The most important point to understand the system behavior is the fact that the withdrawal of the (subcontracting) component is generally carried out during the goods receipt for an SC procurement proposalfrom the subcontractor stock that is managed at plant level from an inventory management point of view and that has no reference to a storage location at all.
This causes that subcontractor requirements can never enter a storage location MRP area, since you can later not post the withdrawal from this MRP area.
Thus SC-requirements always enter the SC segment of the plant MRP area or the SC-MRP area.
The SC MRP area in turn is supplied by stock transfer reservations from the plant MRP area or via third-party order processing through procurement proposals with goods receipt directly to the subcontractor. A supply through the materials planning from a storage location MRP area is not possible.
For the above reason, SC-requirements do also not carry any storage location, since the storage location does not have any control function at all for SC-requirements:
You cannot and you should not determine a storage location MRP area (see above), and the subcontractor MRP area is determined via the vendor of the procurement proposal, thus it is independent of the storage location.
See also Note 376050 on this topic that makes a modification available which prevents the deletion of the storage location in the subcontractor requirements, so that you can use, for example, customer-specific reports to analyze the storage location.
Please observe that the mentioned modification note 376050 only makes the storage location available on table RESB, so that you can use it on custom report. This modification will not make the storage location to be considered by MRP or on MD04.

Creating Planned Independent Requirements for an MRP Area.

Hi All,
I am trying to enter Planned Independent Requirements for an MRP Area, with requirement type VSE and I get the following error;
"Only stock requirements are allowed when planning at MRP area level".
I can enter at the Plant level with no problems.
Any guidance is greatly appreciated.

The following is the excerpt from SAP [Help|http://help.sap.com/saphelp_470/helpdata/en/81/470a58ddab11d1b55b0000e82de178/frameset.htm] I think you maintained a planning strategy in the MRP view (for the plant) which doesn't support VSE.
You can delete PIRs from an MRP area by deleting the MRP area number from the Creating Planned Independent Requirements screen and recompiling.
When you define the planning strategies and parameters in the material master, these parameters apply to the whole plant, including all the MRP areas within the plant: You cannot maintain the MRP areas separately.
The integration of the MRP area and the assignment of the MRP area in the sales order is supported only by a user exit in the sales and distribution user exit pool.
Sales orders with MRP areas are created irrespective of the availability check control group in the material master.
Customer order processing of production sales orders with the item category (account assignment Step E Single) is only maintained in the MRP area of the plant.
In Customizing and in the MRP area user exit, make sure that when transferring individual sales orders, only requirements types KE, KEK, KEKS, KET, KELV, KEV, KEVV, VSEF, and VSE are generated.
The following requirements types are valid for the MRP area: KE, KEK, KEKS, KET, KELV, KEV, KEVV, VSEF, and VSE.
You cannot plan with preliminary planning materials in the MRP area.
There is no planning strategy for the material segment of the MRP area.
The planning strategy for the material master segment of the plant is assigned to the material segment of the MRP area.
The consumption mode and the periods of adjustment are derived from the plant in the MRP area of the material master.
Only consumption customer requirements with planned independent requirements are allowed: VSF requirements with KSV and VSFB with KSV.

BAPI or function module to add/update MRP Area (MDMA table precisely)

My actual requirement is that I will get an excel sheet with data to be added to MARC and MDMA table. I guess the report you suggest is good for manually updating/creating/deleting MRP area. It will as good as using BDC in MM02 transaction programatically. Doing BDC will be the last option. If I am able to use any function module then it will good I guess. Please correct me, if I am wrong and suggest me how to proceed.

MRP Area query

Dear All
Client is having a trading plant which has almost 50000 materials approximately or more. Each Material has two MRP Areas already present in the system but due to some issue client wants to remove or delete one MRP Area and keep other MRP Area only for all materials .However but if MRP Area is deleted Client doesn't want stocks,Sales order, Purchase order of the deleted area to be affected they should be closed in that area only and Other MRP Area is to be used effectively?

MRP Areas error message

In implementing MRP areas, we created and assigned MRP area to material and later on deleted the config for the MRP area definition without deleting it from material master. We get an error message MD318 - MRP area has not been defined, which is an internal error, there is no oss note fixes for this issue but OSS note exists for MD319...can anyone please suggest me any options to resolve this error.

I was checking answer for the same error. and I saw this note. the answer may not be useful as it was in 2011, could be helpful for other checking current and in future.
I resolved by configuring the MRP area in MDLV table along with the MRP Parameters for the plant.
The Products created already without the MRP area were updated as MRP area at plant level for our scenario.

PR in MRP Area not appeared

hi, i have a case if anyone can help !
i have material X with MRP area R0001 (Vendor 0001) with plant A, when i run MRP .. PR exist in MRP area R0001
but when i change MRP area into R0020 (Vendor 0020) and set deletion flag MRP area R0001 (vendor 0001) and run MRP
the result not in MRP area R0020 .. but in plant level MRP area that's MRP area A
why the result not int new MRP area R0020 ? can anyone help this issue

After Creating this New MRP AREA>>>R0020,
1) Did you assigned this New MRP AREA >>.>R0020 in the Material Master (MRP1 ) for the material X ?
2)When Running the MRP,
you have to run the MRP with the MRP AREA>>.>R0020. Means, you have to enter the following
Material : x
MRP AREA : R0020
Plant : Plant Code
Then run the MRP
In this case you will get PRs, against the requirements of the Material x, For the given MRP AREA>>>R0020

Same problem here (no graphics in header or footer) and the problem has been reported months ago. It is another bug/feature lost when Apple moves from 09 to the iCloud-compatible versions. Complain to Apple, you may have better chance than me and they may finally listen to their users....

Thanks Bro. I have backup. and I did the same thing twice but only 26 contacts appear on the device. Now again yesterday after your suggestion again I restored the device but the result was same. Then I thought a new thing. I restored the device one more time but after restoring I didn't configure the icloud account. Surprisingly all my old contacts are there in the device but those 26 contacts are not there. Now I will tell you how this must have happened? I had 3gs earlier. that was stolen 3 months ago. I put the device in lost mode. I purchased new iphone4. I restored with itune. All my data came back. After that I saved these 26 new contacts to my device which also saved in icloud but when I tried to backup on my pc it was not happening. the messege coming device disconnected. 2 days back my stolen device came online. Lost mode was activated by icloud. But what I think in between that time the other fellow must have deleted the phone contacts. And as per icloud also deleted the same. Only the 26 contacts which I saved in these 3 months remained in icloud. Now bro can u help me out? What I should do? I have 26 contacts in icloud and < 500 in my device. I don't understand when all other Co's mobile you can import contacts from any backup file iphone can not. This is the DRAWBACK OF IPHONE.

Cross reference markers are deleted for content in text insets

Cross reference markers are deleted for content text insets. I currently have a chapter that is built from several Import by Reference files. I added an introductory paragraph with cross reference links to heading 2 titles in these text insets. Everything works and saves normally, although the cross reference markers disappear from the chapter when files are checked out a few days later. An extra Heading 2 is also added to the end of the document.
Steps to reproduce:
1. Create a chapter composed of several text insets.
2. Create a list of cross references to headings in these text insets at the beginning of the chapter.
3. Check in/check out the files from a source control product.
What went wrong?:
The cross reference markers are gone, resulting in broken cross references. An empty Heading 2 is also added to the end of the document following the final text inset
What should have happened?:
The markers should remain and the heading 2 tag should not be applied to the document.

Thanks for the information, Van. We did try several techniques including adding the insertion point immediately after the text inset before the normal paragraph tag, but none seemed to consistently work. I will investigate this scenario futher, though, in light of your comments.
We have managed to determine a workaround for this issue by avoiding a string of text insets. For some reason, using multiple text insets without separating them with normal text causes most of the problems after we add the files to our source control system. The situaton is not ideal, but it does work for the time being anyway.

Replenishment delivery for material with MRP areas and Avl Check

HI We have MRP area at storage location level maintained for materials. Stock exists in the plant in the storage location which is part of the MRP area.
Now when I create STO and try to create delivery for the same, system is giving message 0 stock available and not creating delivery. Material has 02 Avl Chck group.If I deactivate the MRP area in the material master, it allows creation of delivery.
How can I ensure that system creates delivery even though stocks exist in MRP area relevant sloc only in the plant?

1) According to SAP when inbound deliveries are used and your delivery item category is set up for mvt type 101, these should be received with transaction VL32N. If you use MIGO/MB0A instead the GR status in the delivery will not be updated. If you then report on open deliveries you'll notice that nothing is received in the course of time. Amazing. Now if you set up the delivery item category without the movement type your inbound will not even be GR relevant. Just one of these things that's nice to be aware of.

Can PIR created at wbs element and MRP area of storage location level

Hi,
I tried to create an planned independent requirement at MRP area and WBS element level, but failed. The MRP area is not plant level, but storage location level.
*When trying to create account assignment category Q for it, then there is an error message saying:*
**only stock requirements are allowed when planning at MRP area level.**
Does it mean it is not possible to create planned independent requirement for this case?

Select the "Issue storage location" as '2' here:
spro -> production -> material requirement planning -> mrp groups -> overall maintenance of mrp groups -> overview -> mrp control parameters at material level -> (field) Issue storage location selection
& make sure:
1. In the BOM issue storage location is blank for the components
2. For the FG products , in mrp area prod.storage loc is maintained
3. Components are extended to the mrp area.

MRP area for running a sale order MRP

Hello PP experts,
I come across a scenario where , I need to do the MRP run for sale order in a MRP area. I have checked , I can put PIR with respect to MRP AREA , but when I open MD50 screen for running MRP for sale order. I did not found the MRP AREA
field in the screen.
In short , my question is , How the sale order MRP run , system will do in a MRP
area defined for the material ?
Here , I have already defined the material is MRP AREA and also I have created
MRP area segment in the material master.
I have also configured the MRP area in SPRO.

I am using plant MRP area. For FERT , I am using make to order strategy 20.
I want to specify the real problem. It is like below.
Suppose 'A ' is sumassembly goes to a variant configured MTO KMAT say 'V'.
The same 'A' subassembly is a child for a make to stock FERT say ' S'.
Presently using strtegy 11 for MTS fert 'S' and 10 for the subassembly ---'A'.
Now the planner want to plan for the subassembly.
He is putting the PIR for the subassembly as sales order is not availble and he is putting the PIR for FERT 'S'.
When sales order is coming then additinal quantity planning is happening.
So I suggested to use the strategy 70 for subassembly 'A' , so the sales order (of 'V') OF quantity will be offset for the PIR of the SUBASSEMBLY 'A'.
But the consumption of PIR of 'A' will be apllicable to MTS FERT that is 'S'.
So how can we prevent the system from offsetting the dependent requiremet triggered from the PIR of 'A'.
That means the consumption (that is the usage of stategy 70) of the FERT requirement should only work for ' A' and sales order based KMAT 'V'.
The same offseting should not work for subassembly 'A' and MTS FERT 'S'.
For for Make to order KAMT 'V' , if I use MRP area and do the sales order planning in MRP area. Will I get the desired result ?

MRP Area and SA Schedule Lines

Hello All,
We are looking at using MRP Areas and noticed it can not be turned off once on (ECC 5.0). Given that, is the following true with reference to schedule agreements:
- Will seperate schedule lines be created for each MRP Area (same material)?
- Does the receiving storage location come from the material master or the MRP Area (Does it matter if it is a type 01 or type 02 MRP Area)?
- Is it possible to define differen't receiving slocs in a schedule line for a Plant MRP Area?

How to set printer margins if using a lot of printers in virtual desktops which are deleted each time users logs off

i am using Firefox version 31. I have a problem with page setup margins. I need to use left
30mm; right 10mm; top 20mm; bottom 20mm. I am using VMware floating assignemnt linked clones
virtual desktops. After users log off - machines are deleted and users next time logs on get's brand
new VDI's. Users gets printers to VDI using login script from Active Directory.

Each user have different logon script, because they use different printers (different printer names e.g. \\some_server\printer_number_2 ; \\some_server\printer_number_3 and etc. Page setup margins in Internet Explorer are ok. But how to make Firefox page setup margins as i need? For other options i have
used CCK2 Wizard 2.0.4 tool. It worked fine. Maybe i can put some information in C:\Program
Files\Mozilla Firefox\defaults\pref\autoconfig.js I have some usefull data in it allready. I
have found info that: "Setting print margins is done in the printer settings". I have a lot of
printers, so i can not set printer margins individualy for each of them. Now mozilla shows top,
bottom, right, left each 12.7 mm. What should i do if i have a lot of printers in enterprise
environment?
