MRP area in Source list

Hello
Can anyone tell me how the MRP Area field (BERID) is maintained in  source list (transaction ME01).  In my system it is greyed out?
We are running MRP at MRP Area level and I was hoping that this field would allow me to maintain source lists at this level.
Thanks in advance for your help.
Kind regards
Sue

Hello Sue,
The MRP area field will appear if you are planning with MRP option 2 - Record relevant to MRP. Sched. lines generated automatically.
You can see help document below explaining this process:
http://help.sap.com/saphelp_47x200/helpdata/en/49/d8fe86df2c11d1a6a80000e83235d4/frameset.htm
I hope it helps.
Kind Regards,

  • How the source list is created automatically

    Hi all,
Cud any one tell me is there any way to create the source list automatically. as per my knowledge we need to give the tick for the plants we want the source list should be made mandatory while creating the material master.
How can be make the Source list field for the Purchasing view mandatory while creating the material master .

    Hi,
You can have the system generate a source list for a material automatically. The system offers you the possibility of quickly entering or updating all source list records for a given source list.
With this procedure, a source list record can be created for each info record and/or each outline agreement item for one or more materials.
You can create the source list for several materials (collective procedure) or a single material (individual procedure).
    Prerequisites
Before you create source list records, consider the following:
For which materials/plants are the source list records to be generated?
Are only outline agreement items, only info records, or both be taken into account? (Decision only in the case of the collective procedure.)
What is the validity period of the source list records to be generated?
Do source list records already exist for the materials for which you want to create source list records? If so, you must decide whether the old records:
    May not be changed
    Are to be deleted
Are to be excluded from the validity period of the generated source list records
    Activities
    Collective Procedure
With this procedure, you generate the source list for several materials.
Choose Master data Source list Follow-on functions  Generate.
    Enter the necessary data.
    Create the source list.
A list of the source records to be generated is displayed. Already-existing source list records whose validity periods are thus changed are also listed.
Select the source list records you want to include in the source list.
Fixed or blocked source list records: You can mark a source list record as "fixed" or block it. A "fixed" source represents the preferred source of supply, whereas a "blocked" source is one from which you are not allowed to order. Select the desired source list record. Then choose Edit  Fix, or Edit Block.
Choose  to store the selected source list records for the displayed material in the source list.
Exception messages are displayed by the system. Press ENTER to continue the saving process.
    Individual Procedure
With this procedure, you generate the source list for a single material.
Choose Master data  Source list  Maintain. The initial screen for the source list appears.
Enter the material and plant number. Then press ENTER to display the overview screen.
    Choose Edit  Generate records.
In the dialog box which appears, enter the validity period of the source list records to be created.
First determine how existing source list records are to be treated if their validity periods overlap with the one specified. To do so, set the appropriate indicator in the dialog box. Press ENTER . The source list is created.
Click  to save the source list.

  • Source List for MRP Area

Is there a possibility to maintain source list for MRP purposes
at storage Location level? We receive requirements from a couple
of our subsidaries and we were consolidating this to be a single
requirement for our suppliers, however this has changed we have
to now show each subsidary's requirements individually. We
currently only use a single plant, previously we created
additional plants for this and maintained a separate source list
for each. Is this the best way to represent and run MRP for each
    subsidary? Thanks.

    Dear Kennedy,
Source list for Storage Location level not possible!!
An MRP area represents an organizational unit for which you can perform material requirements planning separately.
An MRP area can include one or several storage locations of a plant or a subcontractor. You can define MRP areas in a plant.
By defining MRP areas, you can perform MRP for each area. This means the right quantity of materials can be provided on time for each area, such as a production line, a storage location for spare parts, or subcontractor stock.

  • Fixed Vendor in Source List not picking in MRP proposals

    Dear All
For a matrial, we have maintained two Contracts as Sources in Sourcelist. Both sources are valid and MRP relevant(MRPindicator 1 in Source list)
We then fixed the second Source ( fix indicator in second line in Source List)
Then Run MRP. The expectation was that the second source will be picked as its fixed. But the MRP proposed Purchase Requstion and Planned orders are picking the first source only (non fixed one)
Wanted to to clarify whether the fix source indicator does not have any relevance during MRP ? OR is it some other problem?
Please let me know your thoughts on this.
    Regards
    Shyam

    Hello
As already mentioned by Jürgen, the indicator 'Fixed source of supply' is not considered by MRP at all.
See the following note which explains that in more detail:
    110074
MRP: Source of supply, several valid source list records
Therefore, please make sure that there is only one source list item relevant to MRP.

  • Source List validity dates for MRP only

    Hi.
Is there a way to do the following:
Set purchasing view "source list required" so that the material must be purchased from ANY of the sources on the source list...  AND...
Setup the source list so that there are no overlaps, and MRP sources from consecutive contracts based on the source list validity dates.
For example, 1/1/10 to 5/1/10 -> Contract A (mrp relevant);  5/2/10-10/1/10 -> Contract B (mrp relevant).  But on 5/3/10 I want to be able to manually change the requisition away from "B" and release against Contract A.  In other words, I want MRP to get the sourcing close to correct, but allow the user the ability to override the MRP sourcing, AND still ensure that the source the user picks is on the source list somewhere.
When I try this now, the system generates "Source list not included in list despite source list requirement."  The source list checking seems to be done all the way at the validity period level.

    hi,
I understood your concept. Please explain it  clearly so that why this message
is appearing " Source list not included in list despite source list requirement"
    can be found out

  • Source List - MRP Run

    Hi all ,
In our production server Source List is maintained for a material .
The first line contains a vendor ( say Vendor1 ) with MRP relevant indicator 1
2nd line contains another vendor (say vendor 2 ) with fixed indicator checked and MRP relevant indicator as 1 .
1)For both vendor the date range is same
    2)No quota arrangement exists .
But while MRP run for that material Vendor1 is automatically assigned instead of vendor 2 . (althoug vendor 2 is Fixed )
What may be the reasons ?Please suggest .

    Hi,
System doe not take care of "fixed" indicator in source list during MRP run as per OSS note 668764:
    1. Question:
The fixed indicator is set for a source list record. Is this source list record preferred for a planning run?
    Answer:
Only the source list records, for which the indicator 'Source list usage in materials planning and control' is set, are taken into account during a planning run; the fixed indicator is of no importance here. See Note 206684 for more information.
Please also check the mentioned OSS note (206684)

  • What are the disadvantages of maintaining the source list?

    Hi,
I understand that once source list is activated for plant in customizations, it has to be maintained for all the materials which are extended for the said plant, Is it true? Can I maintain only for selected materials?
I also understand if it is maintained for material then, we can not create PO for other source for which it has not be maintained in source list.
    Thanks in advance,
    Satish

    hi
There are no disadvantages if you maintain source list. Infact it helps lot of other functionalities other than purchasing. if you make source liost mandatory then it it required that for that particular material you need to have sourcelist  in Txn ME01.  You can have  list of vendors who are approved and put all of them in the source list for the material.  Yes you can always have independent sourcelist for a single material. Unless until you make it mandatory in customising there is no problem in PO creation. If you have made it mandatory  and you wish to create a PO for a new vendor who is not there in Source list then it is not possible to create a PO. However you can add the new vendor in the source list and go on creating the PO.

  • Fixed vendor in source list not recognized by MRP

    Hi
I have a source list (ME01) with a listed info record for a particular plant/purch.orgvendor/material combo.
I have ticked the fixed vendor tick and flagged it as MRP relevant (MRP=1).
When I run the MRP the purchase requisition is created but the vendor field in the purchase requistion is empty. Somehow the MRP does not recognize the source list settings. No fixed vendor is allocated to the purchase requisition.
Validity period of source list is checked.
I have checked the User exit LMEQR001, but nothing is implemented.
    Any suggestions?
    Thanks in advance,
    Lars

    Hello Lars,
    Please check the following settings in cutomization;
    SPRO>>Materials Management>>Purchasing>>Environment Data>>Define Default Values for Buyers.
Select : Double Click:  Settings for Default Values.
Now select the group and go to Source determination Tab.
In tab under pre-setting of automatic source dtermination indicator.
Tick the check boxes Create purchase requistion and create purchase order vendor unknown.
Note: In ME01, if your vendor is external  then you have maiantain thye vendor in vendor fileld. If vendor is internal (say plant to plant transfer) then vendor needs to be maintained under ppl field.

  • MRP VS Source list

We removed the fixed indicator in the source list .But still purchase requisition is considering the fixed vendor in the MRP run .
What might have the reason ? Any input will highly appreciated .
    Thanks
    JJ

    Dear JJ,
In my understanding even if you have removed the Fixed vendor indicator,if you have assigned 2 vendors in the source list in
ME01 for the same material ,I mean if more than one source of supply exists for a material the system picksup the first vendor.
Correct me If I'm wrong on this concept.
    Check and revert back.

  • MRP - source list!!

    Hi All,
I have two vendors in the source list. I have fixed the second vendor in the source list.
When I run the MRP for the material the system assigns the first vendor to the PR and not the second vendor which is fixed!!
This is something strange. The MRP run should always pick the fixed vendor as per my understanding.
Is this a timing issue? Is it that the MRP only considers master data that I have created yesterday?
I say this because in certain cases when I have maintained the source list or the quota arrangement it was effective only the next day and not on the same day!! Is there any specific config related to MRP for this?
    Regards,
    Vishal

    hi,
    A.check for the few things:
    1. Always remember the source determination is in this way:
    a. quota arrangement
    b. source list
    c. outline agreement
    d. Inforecord
Now check whether there is any exsisting vendor record for the quota arrangement...
    B. Check the validity period of the source list...
    C. check whether there is A vendor ticked or mentioned as "Regular vendor"
    D. Also check whether the B vendor for whom you want the MRP to run, is indicated as MRP relevent or not...with the MRP indicator in the source list...
    Check these parameters..

  • TCode to see List of Plant + MRP Areas + MRP Type

    Hi,
Can anyone tell whether any TCode exists which gives List of Plant + MRP Areas + MRP Type for the List of Material Number Input.
For eg:  MM60 will give list of materials with Plant and its MRP Type.
But it wont give detailes of other MRP Areas under which the Material is maintained.
    Regards,
    Prathap

    Hi,
MC47 will give the list only if some requirement is loaded for the material.
Vishal - Table serves the purpose but i need Tcode only.
Does anyone has idea on other possible TCodes.???

  • Games and podcasts are showing up in my source list but won't transfer

My son just upgraded from an ipod shuffle to a nano 2nd gen. I have downloaded the latest version of itunes. He bought a game and got some podcasts. They show up in the source list but won't transfer to the nano. I have tried restoring the nano but that did not help. Any suggestions?

Make sure to enable podcasts on the iPod nano. When you plug it in pick the iPod nano in the source list and then click on the podcasts tab. Then enable the transfer of the ones you want. I believe that the games are only playable on the 5th gen iPod not the nano. Sorry about that

  • Main window (& source list) are somehow... gone!  help!

    something's gone wrong with iPhoto.
for some reason, when I turn it on, we do not get the basic iP main window (with the source list), we get a blank screen - I can then open the events page, but I can't get the standard first / main window.

renew your iPhoto preference file - A good general step for strange issues is to renew the iPhoto preference file - quit iPhoto and go to "your user name" ==> library ==> preferences ==> com.apple.iPhoto.plist and trash it - launch iPhoto which creates a fresh new default preference file and reset any personal preferences you have changed and if you have moved the iPhoto library repoint to it. This may help
This does not affect your photos or any database information (keywords, faces, places, ratings, etc) in any way - they are stored in the iPhoto library - the iPhoto preference file simply controls how iPhoto works - which is why renewing it is a good first step.
