MRP - Create STO for Stockk Transfer between Storage Locations

Hi Everyone,
I have a scenario where MRP run should create Planned Order as well as STO for a VSF Requirement. The reason is our Plant has got 2 Storage Locations. One is the Production Storage Location and the other is Warehouse Storage Location. The Planned Order should be for Production SLoc and STO should for Stock Transfer from Production to Warehouse Storage Location. Your suggestions are much appreciated to resolve this issue.

not all new features can run in old environments.
I know that companies did already Storage location to storage location STOs in 4.6c but they had z-tables to assign customer numbers at storage location level, and they had changed some coding to make it happen.
I am not sure if there is an OSS note that explains the steps and modifications needed......but try to search OSS.

The Sales org, Distribution channel, Shipping point, Vendor and Customer are maintained to created the delivery.
It is for the transfer of stock between storage locations with any movement type.
Eg: When you do a 311 movement type from Sloc A to Sloc B, then it will create a inbound delivery with the Vendor specified for Sloc A and an outbound delivery from Sloc B with the Customer specified assuming the customer and the vendor as the Plant.
You have to create a internal Vendor and Customer.

Stock transfer between storage location in IS -Retail

Hi,
I want to have a Stock transfer order between two storage locations in the plant.
I have activated the "Activate Stock Transfer Between Storage Locations", now i can create a STO and have the "Issuing SLoc" tab.
Having that i get an error message "Not possible to determine shipping data for material XXX" Message no. 06280.
I am trying to have the shipping data in customizing for set stock transfer - "Define Shipping Data for Plants", but my site is not listed due to the use of IS Retail. Is there a way to configure it?

Hello Lior,
in Retail your distribution center is a vendor and a customer, and your store is a customer. Therefore when you create master data for your distribution centre and store, you also create the vendor and customer masters that are required.
By this link of the DC / Store to the customer master the shipping data is derived. I hope this answers your question.

Stock Transfer between Storage Location with Order

Dear MM experts,
I am into SAP SD.
Our client wants to Transfer Stock from one Storage Location to another Storage Location of the same Plant. (This can be easily done thru MB1B via Transfer Posting)
But the unique requirement here is they require some kind of Delivery Order or Tansfer Order to be created first & only based on that document user can transfer Stock between Storage Locations of a same Plant. (Similar to Inter-Plant Stock Transfer where we create Stock Transfer PO & then move goods between plants).
Can you please suggest on how to achieve the above scenario.

u2022 Function of stock transport orders between storage locations is available from ECC 6.0 onwards.
u2022 As a result of which user can input issuing storage location with supplying plant.
u2022 Facility of using different delivery types for different issuing storage locations is available.
u2022 Shipping Point data can also be determined based on the issuing storage location.

Transfer between storage location to storage location within same plant

Dear Gurus,
We r doing storage location to storage location transfer within same plant through purchase order.
Due to excise requirement we have to raise excise invoice for the same for captive consumption purpose.
Is it possible to make it One step procedure so that GR will take place at same time as GI the way it works for plant to planrt.
In ECC 6.0 option is there for transfer between storage location. I configured but it is not working.
Please check the same.

The proceedure you are following is a bit wierd. But I think this is as per your business requirements.
You can continue to follow the same proceedure as this may not be possible through one step movement type.

315 -- Transfer posting SL to SL -- Placing in Receiving SL

Stock transfer between storage locations

Hello All,
We have a scenario wherin ONE PLANT has MULTIPLE SLOC's across INDIA.
Now we need to transfer some manufactured machines to these various storage locations which are actually stockyards.
How do we go executing this??
I know about the STO between sloc's...but how is the excise angle covered here, since when the materials are transported across various states this would include the EXCISE component as well.
A detailed description is expected please.

You can use the S. loc to s. loc STO for this issues.
Since it is exciable use below steps.
Create STO ME21N.
(Pricing procedure) (Invoice Tab u2013 Mention the Excise Tax procedure)
Outbound delivery : Vl10B
PGI: Vl02N
Outbound Excise Doc. For PGI material Doc. :
Billing u2013 Vf01
MIGO at Receiving S.LOc u2013MIGO
Inbound Excise Invoce : J1iEX (W.r.t GR Material Doc )

I have following requirement.
I have material which is maintained in two different storage location in same plant at Storage location SLOC1 ( primary location) and ( Storage location SLOC2). This locations are physically separated by 10 Km.
My requirement is if stock at Storage location SLOC2 falls below then it should create stock transport order automatically
Please give all details to be put to maintain configuration and masterdata.

Storage Location included/excluded from MRP
To control whether a particular storage location will be included or excluded from the MRP run. (MD02/MD41).
To exclude it from MRP run :-
OMIR - Define storage location MRP per plant
Put the MRP ind. as.         1 - storage location stock excluded for MRP
To include it from MRP run:-
OMIR - Define storage location MRP per plant
Put the MRP ind. as.      space - storage location stock also planned at plant level and save it
Next go to transaction MM01 - tick only view MRP 2
Key in Plant and Storage Location
Look at the Storage Location MRP section
change the SLoc MRP indicator to space and save it
MMD1 - Create MRP Profile - MRP profile is a useful entry aid and makes it easier to manage MRP data.
You define which fields are filled with values when MRP data is entered in the material master record, which of these values can be overwritten and which not.   You use the information stored in a profile is standard information that is needed again and again in similar constellations when material master records are maintained.

Replenishment between Storage Location with MRP Planning

Dear PP Gurus,
I need you expertise on the below question.
I have a plant with multiple Storage Locations. One Storage Location is Main Warehouse and another ilocation s External Warehouse (3PL) where excess stock are kept due to storage capacity in the Main Warehouse.
Now the requirement is replenish the stock to Main Warehouse from the External Warehouse with Stock Transfer using MRP trigger the Stock Transfer.
I know the setting in MRP 4 View in the material master, the Indicator to set to 2, maintain a reoder point in the Sloc: 1200 and Replenishment Qty: 1500 and Special Procurement Type: (what should be the setting)
My question is where to set the target Sloc and source Sloc, then only system will trigger the replenishment Stock Transfer?
The storage location which is plan separately, will have a different segment. Therefore, in terms of the availability check for the Sales Order it will consider as normal based on the scope of check.

Dear ,
1.You need to set up the MRP for Plant with group of storage location and run MRP-MD01 .You can try SCOPE of planning -OM0E.
As an information : In standard MRP I, f you have several storage location for your plant, you cannot plan for them separately unless you assign them to a separate MRP area.If a storage location (alone) is assigned to an MRP area, it means you wan to plan for it separately. If several storage locations are assigned to an MRP area (or let's say to a plant), it means you want to plan using all of them - and you cannot choose only one and plan for it (you can exclude a SLoc from planning w/o assigning it to MRP area).
2.Find steps for config for activating Sloc to Sloc transfer within plant using STO : -
follow path: SPRO--> Materials Management -->Purchasing -->Purchase Order -->Set up Stock Transport Order -->Set Up Stock Transfer Between Storage Locations
1. Activate Stock Transfer Between Storage Locations
2. Assign Delivery Type and Checking Rule According to Storage Location
purchase document category 'F' , here use PO type UB, supplying plant, issue sloc and delivery type , (prefer to create new delivery type by copying delivery type 'NL' replenish delivery
3. Define Shipping Data for Stock Transfers Between Storage Locations
for plant defind sales org and distribution chenal and devision
select the pline and go to sloc
assign there customer (created for sloc)
4. Define Rule for Determination of Shipping Point
for newly created delivery type set L storage location specific shiping poing determination
5. Assign Shipping Points According to Storage Location, assign her sloc based shiping poing determination
at last when you will create PO put issue storage location, system will determine shiping data based on config done.
after this process will be same as STO plant to plant using shiping.
You will need to mention the issuing storage location during posting the delivery,
ie, ME21N - Create STO
VL10B - Create Delivery
VL02N - Post Goods issue - here you will need to mention the issuing storage location

PO number not displaying for STO PO between storage locations in VL10B

Hi Experts
I have created a STO PO for stock transfer between 2 storage locations.
The PO has been created correctly - along with the "Shipping" details aptly.
However, when I execute VL10B along with the PO, the output screen doesn't show the PO created.
I have checked various discussions and verified the same. However, I am unable to create the outbound delivery for the PO.
Please help me on this.

Remove everything from the selection screen (including shipping point and delv. date). Just put the PO in the Purchase Order tab. Check all the other tabs, material, user role etc for extraneous/incorrect info.
Does the PO appear then?

Transfer posting between storage location

Hi
2 questions: we are going to create a new storage location to make material movements:
1- We have to move stock between storage location.
Storage A(new): without WM
Storage B: under WM.
We would like to know wich is the best practice to do the transfer: MB1B? 301/311 movement type?
2 - If we decided to create a new storage location with WM. Wich are the recomendations or the points we have to consider:
Under the same Warehouse numer? A knew storage type? Wich are the activities in SPRo?

If it is the same physical Warehouse you could use the same Warehouse, otherwise a new or no Warehouse.
If the Storage Locations are near by and stock doesn't cross public roads and it's manually initiated, suggest just use a one step as it's the simplest process.
If there's a significant distance but on-site use two-step or if stock transferred by public roads, use STO.

We are using STO configured for Plant to Plant stock transfer.
Now we wish to configure STO between Storage Location
We wish to know whether STO between Storage locations can be used along with STO between Plants.
We are in ECC 6.0.

Hi Kiran,
Yes, you can use STO with plant to plant as well as STO with st.loc to st.loc. but the plants have to be differnet plants.
Check the customizing for st.loc. sto in ECC 6.0

Creating material in multiple plants and storage locations

Hi Gurus,
I am wondering if someone could help me out in this issue,
I frequently get 1's and 2 materials creation requirement , is there any simple way , while creating material in MM01 , I could create/extend to all plants and storage locations.
I know we can use LSMW , but this is not bulk requirement,it is frequent but in 1or 2 nos.

To my knowledge I doubt if both MM17 & MM50 can meet your need, as MM17 is to mass change the values already existing in the MMR, while MM50 is to extend the views in a given plant & not to extend across plants.
A suggestion would be to use the BAPI's -
BAPI_MATERIAL_SAVEDATA Create and Change Material Master Data
BAPI_MATERIAL_SAVEREPLICA BAPI for Mass Maintenance of Material Data
Give your requirement to your abaper & inform him / her to use the above BAPI's. I am sure your abaper can write a simple & user friendly program to meet your exact need.

Warehouse is part of Logistics Execution.
Storage location is part of SAPu2019s enterprise structure that holds the stock quantity
Option: To maintain a single storage bin for every material in every storage location
To simplify: To utilize a storage location as the u201Cstorage facilityu201D means that the materialu2019s actual bin location is not important, or that the material is located in a single bin throughout the storage.
Warehouse is part of SAPu2019s enterprise structure that holds the stock bin location
To simplify: When a warehouse (Warehouse Management) is utilized as a storage facility, a materialu2019s actual bin location is of great importance
Advantage: Track a materialu2019s changing bin location
Warehouse Management has greater applications for use in a storage facility
Disadvantage: More complexity and usually requires more data entry

MRP creates STO-reservation in stead of Stock Transfer PO (s.loc-s.loc)

I hope you can help me!
I am setting up STO, stock transfer order, between two storage locations within the same plant. I have activated the relevant customizing settings (the standard STO-set up located in the PO-part of the MM area) and I have maintained the master data needed (MRP 4-view: MRP indicator u201C2u201D, added replenishment values and entered no value in the special procurement type field).
When I enter a STO manually in ME21N everything works fine.
My problem is that instead of getting a stock transfer purchase requisition triggered by the MRP I get a stock transfer reservation u2013 which is utterly useless to me. I would like to run a scenario with MRP driven STO-replenishment of specific storage locations, not use reservations.
MRP area is activated for the plant in question (MRP area type 01, plant). I am in doubt if this influences my issue.

Hi Rob,
Thanks for your suggestion - i have actually played around a bit with the spec.proc.key.
When I enter the procurement key in the MRP4-view of the material I get an error saying something with "recursiveness". Meaning, I believe, that I cannot assign the same plant in the spec.proc.key as the one the material master is referring to when creating the MRP4-view.
Does the above make sense to you?
