MRP for different warehouses

Hi,
I have two warehouses, and all my items resides in both warehouses. and i have defined a min-max level for a particular item X at both warehouse i.e A and B, 10 and 20 respectively.Initial stock is zero for this item.
Now, I want to run MRP wizard for planning of item X only for A warehouse for a single day, I checked only A warehouse in the existing stock drop down list in MRP wizard, when i run that wizard it shows me the recommendation for 30 items (10 for A and 20 for B) to be purchased which incliudes the minimum level of another warehouse B. But i have checked only A warehouse to which i have to planned my requirement.
Please respond ASAP.
Yogesh Gaur

I think that checking the warehouse is for accepting the current stock only, and not for the requirements. For example if you have a sales order for an unchecked warehouse, the MRP will count its requirement too. And this is the case with the minimal stock level too. It works this way.

    Suhail,
I'm not a big fan of using "Intelligent Numbers." What happens when you reach the maximum number for a given warehouse (France's value range = 31000 - 40999)? I have seen this methodology cause problems time and time again. The better option would be to use a generic sequence and a seperate warehouse identifier on the record. This offers the greater flexibility and doesn't force limitations on the number of items that can be assigned to a given warehouse. If you are not locked into this numbering method, I recommend you add a warehouse_ID column to your table and create a unique ID for each warehouse and record this unique_id in the warehouse_ID column. Then use a generic Sequence as Andreas suggested. In addition to greater flexibilty, this method also provides a unique ID that could be used to Partition your warehouse tables if the size of the tables become a performance issue later.
    Hope this helps,
    Craig B-)

  • Mrp run to do  for different numbers in a sale order

    Dear Sir,
we are doing make to order planning strategy 20  and receiving sale order on august 2008 of 7 nos and delivery date  is of 21 july 2009.
my  client needs to do mrp run  as per the client planned date  , but in md04 the sale order is showing of 7nos .
the client planning date are as follows  to do mrprun :
    31st May 2009 - 2 nos
    30th june 2009 - 2 nos
    21st july 2009 - 3 nos
so I kindly request you to help me how we can do the mrprun as per the client planning date and also what is the flow  path to be done.
In making a finished product we are giving packing as outsourcing ( i.e. labour coming from outside getting wood and othermaterial for packing )  for this how can i show in the routing of packing.
    regards,
    muralidhar.t

    Muralidhar,
Let me understand, on what basis the client decides to run MRP for Schedule Line 3 & 4? Is is based on the deliveries for the next 2months and the other schedule line are behyond 2months from now?
Though your scenario is not clear, with my little understanding I can suggest couple of options,
    1. You can define Planning Horizon for the Plant say for example "60" - Days, and then your MRP run can be with "NETPL"- Processing key in MD01. What this means is that deliveries or requirements which are falling within this 60days will only be planned.
Planning horizon should be configured in the MRP - Parameter Master data section in SPRO.
    2. For all the schedule lines you can change the Schedule Line category to "CN" instead of "CP". CN related schedule lines are not considered in MRP for planning.

  • Error message while creation of material for wrong warehouse no

    dear all,
i have assigned plant and storage location to warehouse no x,created the material for the same.our question is why the system is not showing warning or error message if we create the same material ,plant and stg location combination to a diff warehouse no Y.
    Eg:
material    plant   stg location   warehouse no
    12345      1000   1001             111
12345      2000   2001             111  ?????.how is this possible as i have assigned this plant and stg location combination to a different warehouse no:222
Is there any settings available in SPRO to solve out this problem.
    Regards,
    velu

    Hi,
System will not give any error message at the time of Creation of materials, you can create for any other Warehouse no which is not assigned to Plant , Str loc.
But the system will throw the error while doing any transaction with respect to the Material with different combination of plant , str loc, warehouse no
This is drawback of Standard SAP.

  • MRP for MRP type VB

    Hi,
In order to run MRP for the materials related to consumption based planning (VB) in transaction MDBT / MD01 i have followed below link and activated user exit but when i run MRP, it is considering even MRP type PD. When we try to put break point in debug mode program is not considering this exit itself. Has anyone has implemented this exit? Let me know the correct procedure.
    http://scn.sap.com/docs/DOC-32041
    Regards / US

    Dear Uma good morning.
I will have to agree with what Mariano is saying and i will take it a little bit further.
Some time ago, in my company we were asked to implement an MRP solution where MRP should run with specific settings (different than what stands for all other materials) for only 2 MRP controllers. We followed the procedure Mariano describes but with one addition.
At the lowest part of the MD01 screen, there are two boxes, User Exit Keys and User Exit Parameters. In the first box we entered the User Exit Key we created (using Mariano's procedure) and in the box User Exit Parameters we entered "IEQ(MRPcontroller1)/IEQ(MRPcontroller2). IEQ stands for "Include Equal". So, whenever MRP was running with this variant, it was running only for the materials that belong to these two specific controllers.
Of course, you will have to also change your standard MRP variant, by writing to the User Exit Parameters box "EEQ(mrpcontroller1)/EEQ(mrpcontroller2). EEQ stands for "Exclude Equal. This way, your MRP when running on this second variant it will run only for the resto of the materials, excluding (not running again in other words) the materials of the first variant.
You can find the document which describes the complete procedure here (it also describes the steps Mariano is talking about):

  • Defining New G/L Accounts for Each Warehouse

    Dear All.........
We have managed inventory by warehouse and set the G/L accounts by warehouse wise.
Now if we create new warehouses  the system but by default the accounts are same for all the warehouse,
So my main Question is ...........is it a good practice or solution to create new G /L accounts and relate them to each different warehouse ........
I have already asked this to Finance person of client but they are not actually getting the things and asked us to give the correct solution.
pls let me know is this an advantge or is there a good practice to do so (this is no the requirements.)

    Hi Satish,
The trade off between setting G/L accounts by Item/ Item Group/ Ware house should be decided by the Client.
What I would suggest to you is to explain all the G/L related to Perpetual Inventory System to the client.
You can find all the G/L in the Administration -> Setup -> Inventory  -> Warehouses, Accounting Tab.
Normally we go by the default accounts. Again this should be defined by the client.
Say for example i have 3 WH say ChennaiWH, DelhiWH, MumbaiWH.
Normally SAP by default would set
    Inventory Account to 130000
Revenue Account to 400000 and so on.
But the client may want to have seperate Account WH wise.
So in this case, we create new GL's location(WH) wise and assign it to the WH.
    for ChennaiWH
    Inventory Account 130000
Revenue Account to 400000 and so on.
    for DelhiWH
    Inventory Account 130002
Revenue Account to 400002 and so on.
    for MumbaiWH
    Inventory Account 130004
Revenue Account to 400004 and so on.
This discretion has to be taken by the Partner with concurrence with the clent.
    Hope this is clear

  • New Document Series for different locations for Production Orders

    Hi Experts,
I have came across a scenario where we have to setup different Document Series for Different Locations. Actually the Company is having 2 units . First one is the factory itself and the second one is Subcontracting Unit to which the company sends the job work order . But there it wishes to track the productions processes and the Stock tracking Warehouse Wise for
this Second unit also . As Such I have created 2 locations and one warehouse for (RM,SFG,FG) for both the units.
The obvious requirement here is to maintain different Document Series for Productions orders for both the units .
Please guide me about how to overcome this scenario.
    Thanks and Regards,
    Pooja Singh.

    Hi Pooja,
Yes. You can maintain different document series for production Order or any documents depending upon your business scenario.  Let's say, you need to maintain Production orderu2019s of job work and sub contracting.
You can define this under Administration>System Initialization> Document numbering.
Select Production orders--> let say Factory first number 1, last number 199999, select current period indicator and update. Similarly for the subcontracting, in the name field, "work order", first number as 110001 or the way you desire, and then the last number.

  • MRP for FG not looking at Raw Material

    HI all,
I'm running MRP for finished goods material against my production plan (created in MD61).   The material has a BOM component but when I run MRP for the FG its not looking at BOM component to consider raw material) availability and thus proposing dates solely based on the Production Plan and not any other requirements.
It simple creates the planned orders based on the production plan entered into MD61.  The dates for the planned orders don't take into consideration that on the suggested Production date there is not enough raw material to actual produce the product.
The Production plan does drive requirements to purchase the raw material but the dates are not neccessarily correct to get product to the warehouse on time for production run.
    FG set up:
    RP Type:                                PD - MRP
Lot Size:                                 EX u2013 Lot-for-lot Order Quantity
    Safety Stock:                         125  - EA
Availability Check:                   02 u2013 Individual Requirements
    Procurement Type:                   E - In-House Production
    In-house Production:                 1 - days
    Planning Strategy:                   10 u2013 Make-to-stock production
BOM / Raw Material set up:
    RP Type:                                PD - MRP
Lot Size:                                 EX u2013 Lot-for-lot Order Quantity
Availability Check:                   02 u2013 Individual Requirements
Procurement Type:                    F - External Purchased
Pland Del Time:                         3 - days
GR Process time                       1 - days
Planning Strategy:                   40 u2013 Planning with Final Assembly
How do I get the MRP for the FG to not only create the planned orders from the production plan but also take into consideration raw material availability?   Thanks for your help!!

    VC,
I need to the PlndOrd date for FG to take into consideration raw material availability...otherwise it's pretty useless to the site.
I guess you are unfamiliar with the workings of standard MRP.  MRP in ECC as delivered by SAP will not support this requirement.
There are a couple of assemble to order strategies that may be suitable for you, if all of your RM materials exist in the FGs BOM.  Strat 81 and 82, which are intimately linked to the Sales order ATP check.  These strategies are not compatible with FGs forecasts.
    http://help.sap.com/erp2005_ehp_06/helpdata/EN/41/19206a45fd11d188ff0000e8322f96/frameset.htm
In SAP ERP, MRP just does not check the availability of components during the MRP run.  The Net Requirements calculation of a component part (which is the closest concept within MRP to an Availability check) takes place ONLY after all parent parts are completely planned, and all parent part planned orders have been already been generated and saved.  In effect, when MRP is running, information is neither gathered nor considered as to what the planning situation will be for the components.
APO has several solutions that, depending upon the detailed requirements, might provide a solution.  A common one is to first run an MRP type heuristic, to create planned orders for all the shortages, and subsequently run a 'Bottom-up' scheduling heuristic to bring supply and demand dates into alignment, based upon pegging information.  ERP does not have this functionality.
Of course, SAP ERP is infinitely modifiable.  If you have enough time and money, you can write custom code that will torture ERP into filling any Business Requirement.

  • Using data from different warehouse in a query

Hi guys, I regularly use the query below to get stock information from SAP. However, i would like the 'on order' column to be from a different warehouse to the other data on the query.
    SELECT T0.[ItemCode], T1.[ItemName], T0.[WhsCode], T0.[OnHand], T0.[IsCommited], T0.[OnOrder], ( T0.[OnHand]- T0.[IsCommited]) 'Available to Sell',
    t0.avgprice, t2.price 'Factory Cost Price', t2.currency 'Curr' ,
(select rate from ortt where DATEDIFF(day, ratedate, GETDATE()) = 0 and currency = t2.currency) 'Todays Rate',
(t2.price / (select rate from ortt where DATEDIFF(day, ratedate, GETDATE()) = 0 and currency = t2.currency)) 'GBP @ Todays Rate'
    FROM [dbo].[OITW]  T0, OITM T1, itm1 t2
    where T0.ItemCode = T1.ItemCode
    and t2.itemcode = t1.itemcode
    and t2.pricelist = 2
and T0.WhsCode in ('pinnacle') and (t1.usertext not like N'000%' or t1.usertext is null) order by T0.ItemCode
as you can see, the warehouse i am using is Pinnacle, but we use Transit for goods that are on order. Is it possible to isolate t0.OnOrder using brackets?
    thanks

    Groovy,
We need to have a sub query which will be something like
    SELECT T0.ItemCode, T1.ItemName, T0.WhsCode, T0.OnHand, T0.IsCommited, T0.OnOrder, (SELECT OnOrder FROM OITW WHERE ItemCode = T0.ItemCode AND WhsCode = 'Tansit'),
    ( T0.OnHand- T0.IsCommited) 'Available to Sell',

    Hello
    short question
    I upload productTree
Sales BOM with an artcile sold in different warehouses
It seems that the same article code can not be used in different places
    Exemple
    Article A sold
using article B and C in stock in warehouse 01
Article A can not be sold in anyother warehouse... This is not good when you have several shops
    Do you have any workaround
    thank you

    Thanks
What I´ askng is how to assign a Sales BOM to a sales area, which is the transaction for doing it as I jut know Cs01 ad works at plant level.
Question is that for the same material, I would like to work with Sales BOM in one sales organiation and not to work with Sales BOM in another sales organzation

  • Purchase Order With Different Warehouse Items

I have problem in creating the purchase order for the items belonging to 2 different warehouses.
When I create the Purchase order it shows the error as
“Cannot retrieve tax information message [80508-2]”

    Hello,
No, I am referring to warehouse setup --> general tab.
Are you creating one item that will be received by 2 warehouses or more items and more warehouses ?
actually the error can be caused by tax group setup in item master data and business partner. Check also field tax information in  the module admin --> system initialisation --> accounting tab. maybe you forget to define the tax info there.

  • RAC for Data Warehouse

    Hello,
We have a research project for restructructuring our data warehouse system.
I would like to get some opinions about whether RAC architecture can be
a good solution for Data Warehouse application.
We have using parallel queries massively. Does running these kind of queries
on different servers on RAC with multiple server result in performance degradation rather than
running on single monolithic server with multiple CPUs
I will appreciate any comments using RAC architecture for Data Warehouse
    systems?
    Regards,

    Maurice Muller wrote:
Just keep in mind that during the last 4 years (I guess your current system is about 4 years old) the CPUs became much faster.
A cpu can't work without data which means that the I throughput has to be fast enough to feed all your cores with data.
The main bottleneck of all DWHs I have seen during the last 8 years was allways the IO never the CPUs. And not just data warehousing Maurice, but a basic principle for any data processing platform - the slowest layer is always the I/O layer.. and can be the most expensive one to solve too.
Which is why newer technology like Infiniband is exciting as it can also serve as the I/O layer. Instead of using the traditional HBA which is typically configured with 2Gb fibre channels to the storage layer, using HCA cards you can wire this directly into an Infiniband storage array... and this can run at up to speeds of 40Gb. Dual connections means a total theoretical pipe size of 80Gb. I do not know of any other standard technology (like GigE) that can provide any similar bandwidth speed.
Back to RAC though - with RAC, when you add a new server that comes with a new set of I/O pipes.. plus of course more RAM and more CPU cores. SMP server architecture does not scale like this at all. You only have x number of slots for PCI cards, CPUs and RAM. A very specific ceiling that cannot be moved. With MPP this ceiling is a a lot higher and more flexible.
You can also replace a dual core dual CPU nodes with a 6 core AMD Istanbul CPUs next year.. and possibly 12 core CPUs year after that. So even a smallish 4 node cluster with 16 cores in total can be grown significantly and remain a 4 node cluster. Together with advances in HPC (High Performance Computing) like Infiniband.
I'm not seeing much use of non-RAC RDBMS architecture in the future. Databases are getting ever bigger because we have the technology to crunch more data, and crunch it a lot more intelligently than ever before. My first production database was 4MB in size, and ran on a Novell File Server with two 20MB disks. I'm currently testing a 24TB array for use for a single database.
Technology is inevitable, as is the growth in data volumes. And I cannot see a non-RAC architecture rising to that challenge. Especially not in something like data warehousing.

  • MRP for 2 materials

Is it possible to run MRP for one material number and take into account inventory and orders that exist for a different material number?
We have some parts that can be rebuilt (e.g. material abc123).  We're considering creating a new material number for the rebuilt version of the part (e.g. abc123R).  We want to run MRP for the abc123 material, and recognize the inventory and orders for both materials.
Thanks in advance for your help.

    Hi Dennis,
It is not posible to do as you want, because there is only one number material by physical part... you can not assing two number material by physical part...

    Hi.
    I have a scenario
final product require solvent which is recoverable means when I use 100 lit. of solvent out of that 70 % is consumed and 30 % is return which treated as different material code and use for next batch production of final product.means i have two same solvent with different material code.
    A - Fresh solvent
    B - Return solvent
now I want to run MRP of A -fresh solvent  in such a way that system should take stock of both solvent (A & B ) in to account while generating rquirement.
How I can achieve this ?

create a BOM for solvent A with items of solvent A  quantity of 70lit and Solvent B with quantity of 30lit
for solvent A put recrussive  indicator in item details  then run MRP for sol A

  • Using multiple apple id's for different purposes

We are a family of 4 with numerous devices. Here's the setup we've been using to manage different aspects of our apple life!
Each of us has an individual apple id, which we use on our individual devices for storage/backup, photo stream, facetime, calendar etc
We have one apple id, used on all devices for all app store/itunes purchases
We entered this id on each device with everything turned off except "find my iphone". This way we could be logged into the find my iphone app with one id and be able to see all our devices.
This has worked really well for us as a family. Well, yesterday my kids updated their phones (one 5 and one 4s) to ios 7. I have not done it yet. It does not seem to allow for the above setup, specifically where "find my iphone" is concerned. When I enter in that specific apple id as an additional icloud account, it doesn't offer the option of find my iphone. My ios 6 device says "only your main account can use photo stream, documents & data, and backup". Their device adds "find my iphone" to this list.
Does anyone know if this is a specific change apple made, or something that went wrong when initially setting up their updated phones.
    TIA!

Thanks for your reply. But what I don't understand is, can I no longer have multiple icloud accounts, to be used for different purposes? Like I said, we have been using one apple id/icloud for storage etc and one for find my iphone.
