MRP for Third party process

My client requirement is we run the MRP and the MRP controller found that the material cannot produced in house and then the decision is taken to deliver the goods to the customer by using third party sale process.
I suggested the client that we will modify the standard sales order by changing the item category and item category group in sales order.
But he is not agreeing to it.
Please guide me how to do this

Hi,
2 suggestions:
If you're material planning process is stable then you can maintain TRLT field in the material master and an understanding with your production people that if sales books an order based on the TRLT, then they can obtain the finished part at the end of TRLT.
If that understanding can be had, then while creating the sales order, system will do an Av. check & that will give you a realistic situation as to when you can deliver the assembly. If it is within the acceptable timeline, then proceed to book the sales order, if it is not, then change the item category TAS & then you can have the third party flow.
Alternatively if the above is not possible, then at the time of creation of SO, you can have the schedule line category as CN, implying no transfer to MRP. Then the sales planner can get the commitment from Production, then decide whether to go for inhouse or third party.
Discuss the above options & if acceptable adopt the same.

Vivek

  • Account Assignment Category for third party process.

    Hi ,
I would like to use different account assignment category for third party process. This account assignment cat must be assigned at the sales order itself. Is there any config for this.
    Kindly help me.
    Ram.

You can create new account assignment category for 3rd party process  by copying existing std one 2 in configuration under MM - Purchasing - Account assignment - maintain account assignment category
You can assign your own set of control for account assignment based on requirement.
SAP use TAS item catgory in 3rd Sales order which is linked to Pur Req account assignment catgory 2.If you are defining own account assignment catgory than you need to config set-up with TAS sales order item catgory.
Hope above details will help to move further...sanjay karkun

  • Third party process as inventory value

    Dear Experts,
Kindly need help for third party process.
We have third party process which triggered from Sales Order. This Sales Order will automatically created PR. PR will be convert into PO.
The issue is we would like to have goods in Sales Order (or Purchase Order in next process) as inventory value when receiving goods.
Can third party process be treated as inventory value when receiving it?
    Thank you in advance.
    Best Regards,

In third party process your customer gets the goods directly from your vendor.
You only make a statistical GR ("phantom" GR) in the system, the goods are physically received by your customer and your customer's inventory will increase after your customer's GR and not yours. Knowing this your question doesn't make any sense I think.
If your third party process is not a real third party process and you receive the goods physically and after that you sell it your customer you can use individual PO scenario.

  • Intercompany invoice not getting created in third party processing

    Dear Gurus !
I am facing a problem in creating the intercompany invoice in case of third party order processing.
In our organisation , for any type of sale two billing documents are creared :
    1) Commercial Invoice under the co. code for which sales org. is maintained at the sales order bookin level .
    2) Intercompany Invoice under the co. code in which plant is maintained which is used at the sales order level as delivering plant.
So, as per the configuration req. for third party processing  , i have created Sales order ( with automatic Purchase requistion generated ) , Purchase order creation with reference to the Purchase requisition , goods reciept ( MIGO ) and invoice reciept ( MIRO ) , then billing doc. or commercial invoice ( VF01 ) with the generation of accounting document and finally the intercompany invoice ( VF01 ) .
But i am facing the problem in final stage , that is , intercompany invoice creation .
Error Message : No open billing quantity has been determined .
I have checked the copy control for sales order to intercompany invoice and still not able to resolve it .
Please reply which setting needs to be done for this .
Awaiting your response , that what copy control settings is required .
    Thanks .....

    Hi Buddi / Mahesh / Kiran ,
It ' s good to see all of your opinion . But my problem has not been resolved .
I am implementing third party processing in my organisation , where the customer is an export customer ( outside India ) . Hence , this is a merchant export .
All the configurations / Customisations have been done for this process .
The process is running fine till commercial invoice , but the problem is in intercompany billing doc. creation.
I am again repeating - Error message : No open billing quantity has been determined.
    Explanation of the process :
    1) The order has been booked with item category TAS alongwith the item cat. group as BANS for the material used in the order .
    2) The sales area is 1020 / 30 / 35 . Here , 1020 is sales org . under company code 0079 , 30 is export's distribution channel and 35 is the division for components .
    3) The delivering plant used in the sales order is 1009 which is under co. code 0077. The price / condition record maintained for this material is in USD / EUR as it is a case of merchant export .
    4) The purchase requisition is generated automatically when the order is saved . It can be seen at VA02 - > Item details - > Schedule Lines .
    5) With the help of this PR no. , i have created a purchase order for vendor which is maintained under co. code 0077 asking for material in plant 1009 which we need to export / supply to the customer.
    6) The value of material per piece in the P.O. is coming from the material master record -> Accounting 1 view - > Moving av. Price .
    7) Now, the Purchase order is saved . With the help of this P.O. no. , goods reciept ( MIGO )is done .
    8) After MIGO , Invoice reciept or MIRO is done under company code 0077.
    9) After MIRO , customer ' s invoice is created through VF01 .
Remember : This is an order relevant billing , no delivery or PGI will happen here because the material is not coming into the plant 1009 .
10)The billing document ( order - related billing doc.) is created and the accounting document is also created under co. code 0079 in USD .
Till this stage , everything is running successfully as per business requirement , but i am facing the problem in the final stage , that is creation of intercompany invoice under co. code 0077 which is in INR .
In all other sales document types used in our industry , the process is same , that is : a) Sales order creation b) Delivery and PGI c) Billing doc. creation with accounting doc. under co. code 0079 and finally d) Intercompany invoice with accounting doc. under co. code 0077 and excise invoice creation with reference to intercompany invoice.
In the above, problem is not there becuase orde is delivery relevant , hence copy control is maintained for interco. billing to delivery type.
But in the new process , that is , third party processing , sales order relevant billing is done . so i suppose there will be a copy control for intercompany billing and sales doc. type , but i am not able to resolve it .
Hence , please understand the process before suggesting .
    Thanks and awaits reply........

  • Third Party Process (PR through Sales Order)

    Hi all,
I have to configure the third party scenario (PR through Sales order) for one of my client.
So can anybody tell me what are all pre-requisite / settings from the configuration point of view as well as from the transaction point of view.
    Thanks
    Shubham

    Hi,
here is some stuff regarding third party purchasing,
may be it will use ful,
u2022     The item category group (BANS) in the sales:sales org.data screen of the material master controls whether or not the material will always be a third party material.  In this case, the item category in the sales order will be defaulted to u201CTAS.u201D   If the material is also procured internally, then the item category group can be set to u201CNORM,u201D and the material can still be used for third-party processing if desired.
u2022     The item category in the sales order (TAS) informs the system that      procurement data must be maintained for the order.  In addition, this item  category results in a purchase requisition being automatically created with its item   category defaulted (S).
u2022     The purchase requisition is created as a result of a sales order.  For each schedule line (quantities for sales orders broken up by dates of delivery), a purchase requisition item is created, provided that the item category on the
sales order is u201CTASu201D for third-party.  The purchase requisitions created can
be viewed and even edited from the schedule line screen (Edit-
    Procurement  Details).
u2022     Changes in quantities, dates and account assignments in the purchase order result in the automatic changing of the sales order.
u2022     A desired vendor (informational field) can be specified in the sales order in the procurement data for the order.  In addition, a fixed vendor may be assigned in this data if known at the time of the sales order. This then becomes the supplier for the third-party items. If the vendor is not specified in the sales order, the purchase requisition goes through the normal source determination.
u2022     The account assignment in the purchase requisition can be either the sales order (C), or aux. account assignments (X).
u2022     Once created, the third-party purchase requisition follows normal
    purchasing procedures.
u2022     Customer delivery information is copied onto the purchase requisition from the sales procurement data.
u2022     If you create delivery schedules or change quantities during the purchasing process, these automatically get copied back to the schedule lines on the
    sales order.
The goods receipt indicator can be found in the purchase requisition which can be edited from the sales order (Click on Item line- Hit Schedule Lines button -Hit Purchase Requisition Button).  This indicator determines whether or not the customeru2019s goods receipts are monitored.  When the indicator is off, invoice verification is done against the purchase order quantity, and the delivery of goods to the customer is not input into the system

  • Third Party Processing in SRM 4.0

    Hi,
We are working on Third Party Processing in SRM4.0 & SAP R/3 4.7.
We were able to transfer the Third party Requisition from Backend R/3 to SRM 4.0 Sourcing Cockpit as an External Requirement.
When we try to process the Third Party External Requirement to create a PO in Sourcing Cockpit, the system is not identifying the Customer Number as a Business Partner in SRM 4.0 and it is throwing a dump with the error message <b>'Partner xxxxxxxxxx not found'</b>
Please help us to understand the procedure for replicating the Backend R/3 Customer Masters and its Address into SRM 4.0
Where can i find documentation for Third Party Processing in SRM 4.0 as i could not find anything in SAP Help
Please do let me know if you need any details/clarifications
    Thanks in advance
    Regards,
    Sunil

    Hi Vitthavat,
All you have done is fine.
As per you SO - PR is already automated, now to automate PO creation from PR:
    Do the following thing:
    1. Activate u2018Automatic PO' indicator for material master
    2. Activate u2018Automatic PO' indicator for vendor master
    3. The purchase requisitions with vendor assignments are converted into POs by a batch job using transaction ME59/ME59N and ABAP program with requisite parameters.
This ensures automatic creation of POs.
So result: When SO is saved PR and corresponding PO will be generated automatically.
    Your problem will be solved.

  • Problem in third party processing billing document

    dear all,
I am facing problem in creating the billing document for third party processing.
The error is : Item category ZEXM TAS cannot be invoiced by using billing type ZFAZ.
I think the problem is  in copy control for billing document item . Kindly tell the solution.
    Thanks...

    Dear Buddi ,
Now , the billing document is getting saved after changing the copy control for item category.
But , the system is giving error ( The accounting document is not generated ) .
I have checked all the settings in VKOA against the account keys maintained in pricing procedure for this merchant exports case.
One another problem related to this issue is : Which setting is required to capture the Price maintained in item - > conditions at the VA01 level in EUR or USD . I have maintained the condition record in EUR in VK11 , but still while making order , the error is coming mandatory condition type ZBPR( Basic Price ) is missing .

  • Item category used for third party

    Gurus,
need to know the item category used for third party process and its determination, kindly help.
    thanks
    SP

    Dear Partasarathy,
there are three different processes within the third-party.
The usual third-party process (the delivery will be made directly from the third-party partner). The item category here is TAS in the standard.
The individual purchase order (the delivery will be done from third-party partner to SD-partner and then the normal delivery will be created from the sales order). The item category here is TAB in the standard.
The ALE-process is the third-party process where the purchase order (not only the purchase requisition) will be created after saving the sales order. The item category here is ALES in the standard.
I hope, this additional info helps you further.

  • BAPI_APOATP_CHECK Third Party Processing

    Hi,
I am wondering whether it is possible to use BAPI_APOATP_CHECK for third party processing. I have read note 1409611 and it says that since SCM 4.1 a BAPI for ATP is available. However, the BAPI for ATP is not for third party processing. Is BAPI_APOATP_CHECK the BAPI in question?
    Thanks.

    Dear Elvez,
It depends on what information you would like to process / change using BAPI. You can try BAPI "BAPI_APOATP_CHECK" and also "BAPI_APO_AVAILABILITY_CHECK" and see if it helps.

  • Process demand for third party direct shipment

    Hello ,
I need help in below given areas. in our rollout client is given statement of work like this.
    1)     Demand transfer to vendors
    2)     Reminder processing
3)     Process demand for third party direct shipment
Please can you explain me about these area, how it works with example. it is very benificial for us.
    Regards
    sapman

    Hi Sapera,
There can be 3 typse of trading scenarios
    1. 3rd party with Shipping notification : Where in u create sales order  and create PO against the PR which si triggered in SAles order adn hen MIGO followed by MIRO and Billing. Here Billing to the end customer can be doen before MIRO because the billign quantity considered is based on the goods Receipt( MIGO) quantity. Many a times you might have your personnels or soem mechanisms to cross verify the delivered quanity as some times the vendor might not dispatch the quantiy in the PO. Here the MIGO doen si consumption posting/Non valuated GR as physically it doenot come into your stock and therefore is not shown in our stock. ITem category used in TAS
    2. 3rd party without shiiping notfication ; Here MIGO is not done and billig ncan be done only after MIRO as the billing quantity is based on the Invocie receipt quantity in MIRO
    3. Bought in items/ Dealer Sales : Here you bring in the materials from the vendor to our depot plant and then dispatch it to the customer . Here PR is geenrated from sales order followed by PO and MIGO. After MIGO you have to do PGI followed by Billing. MIRO doesnot have any impact on the PGI or Billing. Item category used is TAB
But in all the three instancesthe configurational changes happen in schedule line cateogry and the account assignment which is maintiend in item category and for automatic determination of 2 different schedule line categories we need to maintian 2 different item categories alothough item category settings are almost the same.
Hope this was helpful in giving you some insights on the trading processes

    Nithin

    Third party Return Process
If the vendor grants you a credit memo on a quantity or a value basis, you can then send this credit memo directly to your customer.
The billing type Third-party credit memo (G2S) is available for this. The billing type Third-party credit memo works with the item category TASG (third-party credit memo item). The Billing-relevance indicator F is set in Customizing for Sales for this item category. This means that the cost is not created. In Customizing for Sales, the item category TASG is set at item level in copying control for the billing type G2S (copying control sales document by billing document) as the target item category (source: TAS-> Target:> TASG.)
    Process Flow
Create a billing documente with billing type Third-party credit memo (for further information, see the section Creating a billing document in the Billing document). Enter the third-party order as a document still to be processed. The quantities are automatically removed from the invoice.
The above is the process for giving a credit memo which can be adapted for return goods.
    Hope it will help you
