MRP issue.  Extra stock suggested

Hi there ,
I have one material say ABC which is to be procured from outside. Now I have maintained the schedule line aggreement & source list for the same . The safety stock is maintained as zero &  the lot sizing is weekly lot size.. I have generated some requirements of the same material say 100 - Week -1 , 50- Week-2 etc. Intial stock in SAP is zero for the material. The Max & min lot qty is kept empty in material master.
When I am running the MRP then the SAP is creating a schedule line of 396 against the requirement of 100 .
Please suggest me what can be the probable reason for the same .....??
Thanks & Regards
Kaushik Choudhury

Dear,
As I understood you have maintained Lot size- weekly.
As per this system will take the requirement of that week and gives a planned order/schedule line at the last of the week or begining of the week depending on the lot isze key setting
Now System is taking the requirement of future requirement as per yoyr communication right?
But please let me know, what is the schedule line delivery date?
Example 7th week PIR 100
             8th week PIR 100
Now in normal SAP when run MRP
7th week PIR 100
Schedule line 100 - del date 7th week end
8th week PIR 100
Schedule line 100- del date 8th week end.
But in your system is the following is happening?
7th week PIR 100
8th week PIR 100
Schedule line 200- del date 8th week end.
Please come back

  • Issue in Stock transfer

    Hi
We have an issue in Stock Transfer. the Stock transfer happens between a manufacturing plant which is excise registered and a depot, which is not excise registered. We raise a Stock Transfer order from the depot on manufacturing plant with a freight component. The system creates a freight provision in the depot, when the goods issue is done by the manufacturing plant against the stock Transfer Order. After the goods issue the material is shown in Transit in report MB5T until the same is recieved by the depot. However, some goods are lost in transit and the same is recovered from the freight vendor. In such a case, we do a MIGO for the actual quantity recieved at depot and pass a debit note to vendor by loading the difference to material.
    The issue is:
    1. the quantity and the value of the physical inventory recieved have been rectified by a recovery from the vendor.
    2. However, how can we remove the goods, which we have short recieved from the report MB5T
The certain work around  we have thought could be :
    1.  Receive the quantity in full at the recieveing Depot and then scrap the material to the extent it has been received short through M Type 551. However, the issue arises in case of transfer of goods from one manufacturing plant to another, where in both are excise registered. In such a case, goods receipt in full would not be correct as it would raise issues in excise registers.
    Please suggest

    Hi,
One suggestion is you can pass a document through MB1A for material loss in transit for the mateial lost.
Followign accounting Entry would be hit :
    Transporter shrinkage Clearing Dr
    to Inventory Raw Mateial          Cr
You can pass the same document through Mvt. Type 951 (GI Lost in Transit).

  • Issue with stock qty of component in Structured Articles in SAP BI

    Dear Experts,
We are extracting stock in BI through SAP standard data source. We have used 2lis_03_bx and 2lis_03_bf data sources. We are facing issue with stock data validation due to structure articles (pre-pack) available in SAP source system.
We have stock of structure articles available at DC in source system.  When we extract this information in BI, this article gets split into its components automatically. Due to which stock of components articles gets increased with huge amounts.
To analysis it in further detail, we have created below scenario:
    Article Document Number:  4900000827
    Article Number (Pre-pack):  300000082901
    Article Number (Component): 300000082002
Stock of pre- pack article at this article document number: 174 pc
Stock of component article at this article document number: 348 pc (due to splitting of pre-pack article) + 151 (its own stock movement). Total stock for this article is 499. But actually total stock for this article should be 151 only.
As per our Business requirement, pre-pack article should not be split into its components. And stock in BI should be totally in sync with SAP stock.
I kindly request you to suggest the solution to rectify the same.
    Thanks in advance.

  • MRP with subcontractor stock

    Hi SAP Experts,
I have a question about MRP.
Can we work MRP with subcontractor stock?
Let me explain, the MRP could not to generate new planning orders if I have subcontractor stock. For example:
    In MD04 transaction
    MtlRes 100- units
    MtlRes 100- units
    MtlRes 100- units
    SubcSt 300 units
If I have this situation, the MRP run could not to generate planning orders because the subcontractor stock recover the quantity.
This problem (almost) drive me crazy. I really appreciate any help.
    Thanks in advance.

    Dear Demetrio
Please note that the logic for subcontracting was changed as of release
    4.0A.
As of release 4.0 the net requirements calculation for components to be
provided in subcontracting takes into account that the provision stock
can only be used to cover the corresponding requirement of material
provided. The provision stock that is already available from a
subcontractor (vendor) can only therefore be used to cover the
requirements of material provided at this subcontractor.
The system uses only the stock that has not been assigned to a
subcontractor as unrestricted-use stock to cover all requirements.
For further information about this issue please consider the below QA. With the modification of note 170597 the old logic can be achieved. Please notice that it is a modification note.
    1. Question
Why does the MD04/MD05 display an own segment for subcontracting as of Release 4.0B and how does the materials planning work with this new logic?
    Answer
The logic regarding the subcontracting was changed as of 4.0. This is explained in detail in the release notes for 4.0A:Planning of the components to be provided for subcontracting
Material Requirements Planning -> Planning Execution -> Material Requirements Planning: Planning of the components to be provided for subcontracting
    2. Question
Why does the third-party order processing for subcontracting work differently as of Release 4.0B?
    Answer
The (Pseudo) Third-Party Order Processing for parts provided together with the own segment for subcontracting results in problems and can result in inconsistencies. This is described in detail in Note 214298.
As of Release 4.5A you can implement the third-party order processing with subcontracting MRP areas (refer to the corresponding documentation). In addition you can use a modification to reset the system to the behavior before 4.0A, refer to Note 388479. As of Release 4.7, BAdI 'MD_SUBCONT_LOGIC' allows this without a modification.
    3. Question
Why does the discontinued part for subcontracting not work?
    Answer
You cannot divert requirements of material provided to the follow-up material. The reasons are described in detail in Note 43636, section 6.
    4. Question
Why does the system not display the requirements of material provided in the storage location MRP area, as expected?
    Answer
Requirements of material provided (subcontracting requirements, material staging requirements) never reach a storage location MRP area, because later you cannot post the withdrawal from this MRP area.
The withdrawal of the components (to be provided) during the goods receipt for an SC procurement proposal occurs always from the stock with subcontractor, which is managed - from the viewpoint of the inventory management - on plant level and has no storage location reference.Refer to Note 503497 for details.
    5. Question
Why does a requirement move from the subcontractor segment into the plant segment and is covered there although it appears already to be covered in the subcontractor operation segment by a receipt element (Pseudo third-party order processing for the subcontractor)?
    Answer
The corresponding receipt element must standardly always be within the rescheduling horizon. This is required (due to technical reasons) even then when the input itself does not have to be rescheduled, so that the net invoice can deliver consistent results for the subcontractor segment together with the rescheduling check.
If the receipt element occurs after the requirements date, the corresponding element must participate in the rescheduling check (Transaction OMDW).

  • Restrict goods issue if stock on posting date is zero

    Requirement:
Current Inventory period : July 2011
    Stock of a material from 01.07.2011 to 30.07.2011 is zero(in MB5B report)
I upload stock of material  or GRN occur on 31.07.2011. Say Quantity u2013 100
Now stock as on 31.07.2011 is 100 in MB5B
    Still, Stock of a material from 01.07.2011 to 30.07.2011 is zero(in MB5B)
Now, If I do goods issue of a material quantity 100 on 15.07.2011. System allows goods issue. though opening and closing stock as on 15.07.2011 is zero.
After goods issue transaction if I check stock of material on any date between 16.07.2011 to 30.07.2011 , The opening stock and closing stock shows negative.
I want to restrict goods issue if stock on posting date is zero or less then stock available on posting date.
    Please suggest

    Hi,
This is not the way SAP is designed. As the previous speakers wrote (and as you noticed yourself), SAP maintains stock figures in the database per month rather than per day. MB5B makes complex calculations in order to find out how much stock you had on a specific date - as you probably noticed on the response time. Performing such calculations every time you do a GI would be unfeasibly heavy task for the system - remember there are organisations that perform hundreds of inventory movements a minute!
An alternative solution I suppose would be to maintain the daily stock figures in the database. This would make the finding of the stock figure very quick, but on the other hand, the maintenance of such table would be unfeasible - if you post today a GI on say July 1st, you would need to calculate 36 stock figures and update 36 database records!
Hope this explains the technical issue.

  • Valuated issued value Stock

    Valuated issued value Stock
I want to check the values of BW & r/3 are matching for KF  Valuated issued value Stock in which t-c0de can i check it
I am checking valuated stock value in mc.5
& valuated stock received value in  table s031
these values are matching but when I check  Valuated issued value Stock in mc.6 some of the values ar ematching & some are not matching

    Hello Maya,
Use transaction MB5B  where you can select stock by date. Also select Valuated stock. This should match the  your KFs in BW,
Um is needed to get correct value of the stock
If the material cost is adjusted in R/3 then revaluation entries are posted in R/3. The UM datasource picks up these revaluation entries.

  • Issuing consignment stock for sub contracting against outbound delivery wm

    HI
I have a outbound delivery created against subcontracting PO for issuing the components, i have stock determination turned ON so during picking against the outbound delivery i am able to pick K stock and own stock too(based on availability) but when i do PGI i get an error message You have not entered a value in field "Owner of stock" although an entry in this field is mandatory. message M7018, please share your thoughts whether is it possible to issue K stock for subcontracting PO if so how it can be achieved
    Thanks
    Terry

Consignment Stock is not valuated stock of the system. Issuing a Material from K stock to Subcon means, you need to pay to vendor for the material through MRKO settlement.
This message is because of the reason for MRKO. System should be updated with " whose stock are you using"
Please enter the vendor number on that field, depend on which MRKO is done.

  • CS service order budget can't control goods issue from stock?

If you actually bothered to read my post, you would see that I decided to change for the X220 after I saw it in the flesh and realised how much close it was to the X121s dimensions. If lenovo wishes this not to happen very often, they should bother do something about the fact that there is no Lenovo dealership/agent/representative in Oxford.
    2nd.
If Lenovo lists paypal as payment method, they should honour it. Otherwise, do not list it at all.
    3rd.
If lenovo says that I can cancel the day I ordered with no implication, they should also honour this. Not ignore my e-mails (contrary to the terms & conditions stated) and ship it so I can perhaps keep it. That's not good business practice. That's playing dumb.
They had 5 days to cancel, they prefered to wait for the item to be produced/stocked so that they can ship it to a small hamlet in Oxfordshire (half the way around the globe) so I can send it back. So yeah, this little laptop will circumvent the Earth.
If this is not wasteful, then what is?
As far as I am concerned, it took me 10 telephone calls and to DR just to get the cancellation e-mail which should be sent immediately.
If you do not value your time, it is your problem, not mine.
I will not be buying a Mac either as I do not like the product, but the difference in service couldn't be more stark.
    All the best,
    Sav.

I am unable to charge my IPAD on the computer and it says not charging. Tried on 2 computers but same issue. Any Suggestions?

That's normal. Most USB ports dont' put out enough power to meet the iPad's requirements. (It says 'not charging' even though there is a trickle charge...it will charge over USB, but it'll take hours and hours)
Your iPad is best charged with the supplied charger plugged into the wall.

  • MRP Planned % Safety Stock Not Generating Supply in R12 ASCP

Playing with MRP Planned Safety Stock in an unconstrained plan. See safety stock in the horizontal plan. See safety stock in the pegging tree. Yet this type of safety stock is not generating any supply recommendations. However with "regular fixed quantity" safety stock the plan is. Thanks in advance.

    Hi
If I understand your qn correctly., user defined SS is working and MRP planned % is not. Have you setup MRP planned % such that you gave the SS method., bucket days and % for the item attributes?
Also make sure that you have demand for the item since it looks at your demand in future, adds up demand within the bucket days and applies the % .
    Thnx

  • Issue in stock transfer with BAPI_GOODSMVT_CREATE

    Hi Experts,
In LQ02 with movement type 321 Q, when a transfer stock from Quality inspection project to Unrestricted project is made, our requirement is to further transfer the stock from Unrestricted project to Unrestrcited using movmt type 411 Q.
    i.e. Run LQ02 with Movt type 321 Q => should also trigger goods movmt with 411 Q.
for this we have used badi method MB_DOCUMENT_BADI ~MB_DOCUMENT_BEFORE_UPDATE to trigger an update function module ZFM with start delayed. i.e. this ZFM will be triggered in update task to transfer stock from unres proj to Unres using 411 Q from LQ02.
Now the issue is, when some one runs LQ02 with movmt 321 Q, I can see in MMBE that stock is perfectly moved to unrestricted ( QI PRoj to Project and then Proj to Unrest.). However, when I look at the stock overview in LS26 , I still see the stock in Project Unrestricted. ( instead of unrestricted)The movmt ocde I use for bapi is 06.
I have tried using different movement types and codes, however i have the same result. stock overview is perfect in MM and not correct in WM.  I''m out of ideas.  Please help. I appreciate any suggestions.
    Thanks,
    Amber

    Hi david,
Thanks for the hint. I did check in LU04 and unfortunately I don't see any open TO created nor to be confirmed.
now, I did observe some strange behaviour while testing. When I again run LQ02 with movt type 309 or 411, I could see that the material is very well transfered from project unrest to Unrest.
This is surprising , since I supply the same data in Badi, however it does not do the same for WM (LS26 Transaction ) but does for MM (MMBE).
Do you think any customizing tables underlying are causing this. please help.
    Thanks,
    Amber

  • MRP issue for future delivery PO/STO date

We have a sceanrio where the available material quantity in MRP list is considering future delivery date STO quantity.  The PO delivery date is 08.11.2008 and MRP run date is 07.11.2008.
    Step 1, material master details:
Material = 16814, MRP Type = PD, Lot size = EX, Special Procurement = D0 (Stock Transfer), Consumption mode = 2 Backward\forward consumption, Fwd Consumption per = 0.
Step 2, MRP list details , before PO creation:
MRP list before having any purchase order = 191-
    i.e, Available qty on 07.11.2008 with a DepReq = 191-
Step 3, Creating Purchase oder (In our case it is STO):
We created one Stock Transport Order on 7th Nov 2008 giving Delivery date as 08 Nov 2008 which is in future. Our plant is receiving plant = y100.
    PO quantity = 2
Step 4, Running MRP in MD02:
Processing key       =   NETCH               Net Change in Total Horizon
Create purchase req.   = 1                   Purchase requisitions
Delivery schedules   =   3                   Schedule lines
Create MRP list   =      1                   MRP list
Planning mode     =      3                   Delete and recreate planning data
Scheduling         =     1                   Determination of Basic Dates for Pl
Result = PR is getting created for Qty = 189, but our actual required  qty = 191 - meaning it is considering the future delivery date(8th Nov 2008) PO qty while creating PR and removing that qty while creating PR's on 7th Nov 2008.
Here we are running the MRP on today (7th Nov 2008). STO delivery date is 8th Nov 2008
Step 5, MRP List details, after STO creation:
Now the PO is coming in MRP list and the available qty is 189-
Earlier stock before purchase order is 191 - after creating purchase order (STO) for future delivery date available qty is coming as 189-
DepReq is still 191- but the total available qty is changing to 189-
We want PR to be created for DepReq of 191 and not 189.

    In step 2
    What is the stock?
If it is PO then the qty cannot be in  minus 189
    step3
Where are u running MRP? In receiving plant or sending plant and all the steps you are showing for which plant?
    It is confusing...
What i can say is in general if it is MTS scenario, then system will always consideres stock + receipt - issues = 0 after running MRP.
If it is MTO, then for each sales order/project segment stock + receipt - issues = 0...
Hence apply your situation in the plant and see the data.

  • MRP issue after MRP run

    Hello Everyone,
We have a issue in the MRP process. When we run MRP it creates PR for additional quantity then needed not considering the Purhcase Order that exisits already. Below example will explain you in detail.
    Product A Plant ABC
    Stock 4
    Product A safety stock = 8
    Purchase Order creatred = 3
So when MRP run it should create another Purchase requistion for Quantity 1 (4-8+3 =1). But it is creating a Purhcase Requistion for Qty 4 which means it is not looking into the Purhcase Order Qty 3 that is coming in. There is no minimum lot size or any rounding rule.
Please can you tell me if there is a settings/config where we allow/not allow the Purchase Order to be considered during MRP run. I think it should be a plant specific config as for our other plant I dont see this happening.
    Any help will be appreciated.
    Thanks

    hi,
    Few checks:
    1. Check rescheduling horizon...
    2. check the plannning key set while running the MRP....is it NETCH...try with NETPL or NEUPL if doing for first time...
