MRP net requirement calcualtion for Lot sizes

Hi all ,
Can some one help me on this ..
I want to set up the MRP for the Raw materials Procurement .
for this i want use MRP type as PD and lot size as WB Weekly lot size .
but as per the requirement the MRP is run daily , i need clarification on certain things such as how does the system calculates the weekly lot size ?  say if the requirement is converted into PR on the first day of the MRP run ,followed by that if the requirement varies does the system creates a new PR or it changes the Qty in the existing PR if its was not converted to PO .
what are the stock types considered during PR creation and how are the delivery dates determined during the PR creation ?
thanks ,
ksr

Hi Chris
You can try to set up a maximum lot size and a takt time on the material master.
Take a look on the F1 help of this field on the material master:
Takt time
If a requirement quantity (for example, for capacity reasons) cannot be procured in a single lot, you have to schedule several receipts. In conjunction with the overlap indicator in the lot size (set in Customizing for the lot size), you can use the takt time to specify that these receipts are offset, that is, that they are delayed by the takt time.
You enter the takt time in workdays.
Use
The system uses the takt time if a requirement is covered by several receipt elements due to restrictions on lot size such as maximum lot size (with all lot-sizing procedures) or rounding value (with fixed lot size with splitting).

  • Net requirement calculation for Sales Order

    Dear Experts,
I have configured a strategy comprising both( KE,040) and (LSF and 100), say the strategy is Z0.But the system is not doing net requirement calculation for the dependent requirement(always proposing Pr Req though there is stock).Checking group and checking rule, I have created like the standard PP order. Will anybody Pl. guide me regarding this?
    Regards
    Reshmi

    Hi,
    1. The MRP group or the strategy group in the MRP view of the material master record determines what requirements type is used.
If you have not specified this information, the requirements type will be selected through the item category of the sales order item and the MRP type in the MRP view of the material master record.
If you have maintained both an MRP group and a strategy group, the system uses the strategy group (precedence to strategy group).
You can enter the strategy group directly in the MRP view. If you have specified a strategy group, you do not need to enter an MRP group.
The configured Strategy group need to be copied from a standard Strategy and even if you group many Strategies(Max 7) you ned to check the req Type assigned to it .
    2. The item category is derived from the item category group in the Sales view of the material master record and from the order type of the sales document. Together with the MRP type in the MRP view of the material master record, the item category determines what requirements type is selected. The MRP group in the material master record is irrelevant here.
The advantage of this method is that the selection of the requirements type depends on the business process (such as quotation, sales order, or repair).
All the above Points need to checked in your case

  • MRP run on basis of lot size

    Dear all
I have two different lot size routing for a inhouse product are 0-2000 and 0-1500 nos . I planned for 5500 nos  , after MRP run system should create planned order as per selection of lot size as 0-2000 for 2 planned order and 0-1500 for 1 planned order .is it possible ?
    thans in advanced

    Dear,
Quota arrangement can be used if the demand (100) is created in which is define the ratio 60:40 but it will create two planned order after MRP Run. Go to transaction MEQ1 maintain a quota arrangement for this material. In MRP 1 view choose lot size with quota splitting and in MRP 2 view maintain quota usage as 4.

  • MRP Net Requirements Calculation

    Hi Guys:
I defined a Planning Horizon of 40 days, for Example if  today is the start date Since Planning horizon is 40 days (01/30/2012).
    Vendor Lead time = 2months
Purchase order to vendor with Delivery Date (12/20/2011)  : 5000 Pc
Purchase order to vendor with Delivery date ( 03/04/2012): 6000Pc
    Onhand Inventory = Zero
So i have Sales order for 10000 with Delivery Date ( 12/28/12) with in the Planning horizon. So when I run MRP using MD02 ,
Does the system consider Purchase orders with delivery dates  that are outside planning horizon into the net requirements calculation?
    thanks for the help.
    Kodali

    dear friend,
as far as i know the available stock is calculated as follows:
    plant stock
    safety stock
    +
receipts (pur.orders, prod. ordersfirmed proc. proposals)
requirements quantity (say, PIRs, mat. reservations,...)
    =
    available stock
shortage occurs if available stock is negative, that is, the requirement quantities are greater than expected receipts and stock quantity.
so, system specifies the date of the issue (for example, customer requirement, planned independent requirement, reservation, forecast requirement) as the requirements date.

  • Exclude Stock Transfer from MRP Net Requirements

    Hi,
Is it possible to exclude the Stock Transfer Orders from the Net Requirements generated by MRP? I want to base the requirements only from historical consumption. In my Stock/requirements list (MD04) for example, the Requisition generated by MRP increases in quantity since there are open Stock Transfers which are to be served by that plant to other plants.
    Regards,
    Lee

    Nazrin,
Availability check configuration (OVZ9) has no impact on MRP.  MRP relies on its internal rules when it is performing its net requirements calculation.  You have very little control over which elements are included/excluded.
You can exclude selected storage locations from MRP planning.  Stock and reservations against these storage locations will therefore also be excluded.
You can exclude a material from planning, change the material master MRP type to ND.
Your best bet, though, would be to set your PM planning process up such that these materials never create the reservation in the first place.

  • MRP Net Requirements calculation in External procurement Vs STO

    Hi gurus,
Lets say I have a FG 1234 which has raw component 9999.
    Case1:
Setting for 9999 is externally procured.
    I have a stock of 50 pc for 9999.
I got order for 60 pc for FG 1234.
so system will only create purchase reks for 10 pc of 9999 as it already sees 50 pc in stock.
    Case 2:
Setting for 9999 is externally procured but from one of our own plant (Using SPK 40)
    I have a stock of 50 pc for 9999.
I got order for 60 pc for FG 1234.
will system create STR for 10 pc of 9999 as it already sees 50 pc in stock? or will it create STR for 60 pc without checking stock in the ordering plant?

    >
    dorian661 wrote:
SPK 70 will not create an STR. Stock of 9999 will be checked in supplying plant. In case there is a shortage, a procurement proposal will be created against the dependent requirement here. Stock is not checked in ordering plant. You will notice that dependent requirements for 9999 will be seen in the supplying plant.
    Dorian,
Thanks for the reply. so are you saying that in SPK70
In ordering plant - MRP will not look at the stock situation for that material
In supplying plant - system will check stock requirement and create dependent requirement for the shortage amount
and in spk70 case, against what element is the delivery done to the ordering plant? in spk40 delivery is done against STO.
    Thx

  • Fixed lot size key has no effect on planned orders generated for VC PIRu2019s

    Hello gurus,
does anyone have an idea why the fixed lot size key is not having an effect on the planned orders that are generated for the Planned Independent Requirements (PIR) for MTO configurable materials. My client is using planning strategy 56.
I have copied & customized the Fixed lot size key FX to suit the MTO production (u201CLot size as in short-term periodu201D activated) that works nicely even with configurable materials when a planned order is generated for a sales order. But the planned orders in the preplanning segment, i.e. that were generated for PIR's, are still created equally to the PIR quantity.
Is this behavior an error or an SAP feature? Though, I have reviewed the OSS Note 437098 that might be related to this. Can anyone tell me if it is related to this issue?
    Regards,
    Mikko

    Got the answer fro SAP:
Please consider the following note, which provides the explanation about this behavior of the lot-size, when VSE requirements are used:
    125498 - MRP/Docu: Planning segment and lot-for-lot order quantity
The following section of the note describes your scenario in detail:
"The planned independent requirements for a material are in a separate
planning segment (planning strategy planning without final assembly,
    requirements type VSE, VSEV).
You enter a rounding value or a rounding profile or an lot size that is
not exact in the material master.
    Material Requirements Planning:
In Material Requirements Planning, planned orders are generated for the
planned independent requirements. The lot size settings (such as fixed
lot size or minimum lot size) are also not taken into account."

  • MRP planning Purchase REQ per fixed lot size

    Folks,
I have materials which have MRP type PD with fixed lot size of 20 pieces. Safety stock = 200 pieces. MRP run results in 10 preqs of 20 pieces each. I would like to have 1 Preq of 200 pieces. How can this be achieved?
    Regards,
    MdZ

    Hi,
This is because of Lot size "FX" you maintained as 20.
For FX lot size system will divide the total qty as per the fixed lot qty & throw that much of PR for that stock.
So Safety stock = 200, FX =20 so PR will be 200/20 = 10 PRs
If you want 1 PR for your safety stock, then change the Lot size to "EX" then system will throw 1 PR for 200 qty as per your Safety stock

  • Lot size EX with Minimum lot size

    Hi all,
I have a query like how will the material behave if the following settings are made
    MRP type:M0
    Lot size:EX
    Minimum lot size:100
    Rounding value:100
    Maximum lot size:300
My main question is is it right to use lot size EX along with mimium lot size value, rounding value,Maximum lot size defined.

    Hi Anshul
Ex is lot for lot order quqntity. It will put lot size exactly what is required from MRP run. During MRP run after net requirement calculation the system will look for Lot size,Rounding value and Rounding profile before making procurement proposal.
You can use EX with Rounding value
If you requirement is 180 Nos and the rounding vaule is 100 the lot size for this will be 200.
Hope this will clear your doubt.

  • Fixed lot size and Minimum lot size

    Dear senior,
My client has the following scenario. His supplier provides the item in a fixed lot size of 100. The minimum lot size to be ordered is 300.
The supplier is a fixed vendor.
I tried to maintain this information in the Material Master MRP views. Lot size  - FX, Fixed lot size - 100, Minimum lot size - 300.
However, everytime, the minimum lot size will get reset.
Is there any way , I can maintain this scenario via configuration or any other method?
    Thank you.

    Hi,
Fixed lot size - 100 means for every 100 quantity system will create one purchase document.
If you selected Lot size - FX - Fixed order quantity , then no need to maintain Minimum lot size & Maximum lot size fields.
Then you have to maintain Fixed lot size filed only.
    Ex:
    Lot size = FX
    Fixed lot size = 100
There is a requirement of 300. Then system will create 3 PO's with quantity of 100 each.
If Lot size is Ex - Lot-for-lot order quantity, then only need to maintain Minimum lot size & Maximum lot size fields in the MRP 1 view.
    Ex: Lot size = EX
    Minimum lot size = 60
    Maximum lot size = 100
There is a requirement of 250. Then system will create 3 purchase documents, two documents with the quantity of 100 and third one with the quantity of 60.
That's why, in your case system is reseting Minimum lot size every time.
If you want to maintain Minimum lot size, then maintain
    Lot size as EX
    Minimum lot size = 100
    Max lot size = 300
    It will solve your problem.

  • Relation between PO Qty and Minimum Lot size of material master

I have maintained "100" in minimum lot size ( MRP1 View, table MARC and field BSTM) for the material.
I am also succssed to create the Purchase order for 2.5 Qty for the same material. '
I wanted to know, how system is allowig to create the PO with lesser qty or is this view is maintained only for sales?
Please give your expert comments on the same.

Used for claculate the procurement qty during MRP and depends on the lot size procedure you select. quota arrangement also uses this lot size.

  • SNP - Lot Size Query

    Hi Experts,
I have a typical scenario for lot size.
For given product, Minimum lot size is 10000 qty.
But the incremental qty is 100.
    i.e. I can product 10000, 10100, 10200, 10300 and so on..
Can anyone suggest settings required for this condition?
    Thanks in Advance,
    Vipul Shah

Consider maintaining 100 as Rounding Value along with the Minimum Lot Size of 10000.

  • Different fix lot size depending on the production version

    Hi all,
    I have the next scenario:
2 production versions. 2 different fix lot size por each. So:
Prod Version 1 - Fix lot size 200
Prod Version 2 - Fix lot size 300
I created the Quota Arrangement just to make SAP to take my favourite version. And trought the quota, I can define the lot size for each version. BUT.
If I change the version in the order or in the planned order, the quantity don't change.
So: How can I manage 2 different fix lot size for 2 different product versions? If I change the version once the order is created, how can I do the system change de quantity to the right one?
    Thanks in advante

I have n't  tried this scenario,
    This is my Idea
    Create a two production version
for ex: lot size 100 to 1000, set the rounding profile qty as 1000
for lot size 1001 to 99999, set the lot rounding profile value to 5000
BY this way u can get the two lot based on the rounding profie
