MRP Planning and AV Check

Hi,
During MRP run for a FG will Availabilitycheck be carried out..??
I have a FG with MRP type ND(No Planning) and Availability check KP(No Check) with these settings if I run MRP I know that Material will not be considered for MRP run, but will Availability check carry..??
For which strategies (MTS and MTO) will AV check be carried..??
Please teach me.
Regard's,
Uday.

hi,
As MRP run is concerned it will take all stok into account, except the settings in OPPI for stock-in-transit, blocked and restricted.
Availability check is to check the availability of components for Planned orders and production orders.
For planned orders you can check the availabilty collectively in MDVP.
and prod orders check in COHV.
If you put ND as mrp type, system will not take it for planning.
Normally for pipematerials we put KP as availabilty check.
Thanks,
JK

  • MRP planning and Availability check

    Dear Friends ,
We are updating  Availablity check in the MRP view for all materials in materials master , While running MRP system is considering ATP check as per SPRO settings defined for Availablity check group .
Weare not conclude what is the relation for MRP run and availablity check , or  any seperate SPRO settings available for MRP on availablity.
If we not assigned the Availablity check in MRP view what will happen if  during MRP run ?
    thanks & regards

    Suresh,
MRP does not look at what you have configured for Availability check. These two are independent from each other.
    As given in Help,
In the planning run, the system carries out the following partial processes:
    1. The system checks the planning file entries. Here, the system checks to see whether a material has been changed in some way relevant to MRP and should therefore be included in the planning run (see Checking the Planning File Entries).
    2. The system carries out a net requirements calculation for every material. Here, the system checks to see whether the requirement quantity is covered by available warehouse stock and fixed receipts from Purchasing or production. If the requirement quantity is not covered, the system creates a procurement proposal (see Net Requirements Calculation).
    3. Then the system carries out the lot-sizing calculation. Here, the system takes the lot-sizing procedure and, if necessary, the rounding up or down values into account (see Lot-Sizing Calculation).
The system carries out scheduling to calculate the start and finish dates of the procurement proposals (see Scheduling).
    4. The system determines the type of procurement proposals. Depending on the settings, the system creates either planned orders, purchase requisitions or schedule lines for a material (see Determining the Procurement Proposal). If you have maintained the necessary specifications for procurement quota arrangements, the system determines the source of supply which it assigns to the procurement proposal (see Quota Arrangements).
    5. The system recognizes critical situations which the planner has to processes manually in the planning results. For this purpose, the system creates exception messages and carries out a rescheduling check (see Creating Exception Messages and Rescheduling Check).
Availability check is not a planning process, it is basically a CHECK, based on the Scope of check derived for that Particular transaction, system check the availability of a material and it can confirm or propose the possible availability date.
In short if a material is defined with Check Group "KP", but with MRP type PD, still MRP would creates procurement proposals if the demand is more than the stock+recipets.

  • Replenishment delivery for material with MRP areas and Avl Check

HI We have MRP area at storage location level maintained for materials. Stock exists in the plant in the storage location which is part of the MRP area.
Now when I create STO and try to create delivery for the same, system is giving message 0 stock available and not creating delivery. Material has 02 Avl Chck group. If I deactivate the MRP area in the material master, it allows creation of delivery.
How can I ensure that system creates delivery even though stocks exist in MRP area relevant sloc only in the plant?
    Sriram

    1) According to SAP when inbound deliveries are used and your delivery item category is set up for mvt type 101, these should be received with transaction VL32N. If you use MIGO/MB0A instead the GR status in the delivery will not be updated. If you then report on open deliveries you'll notice that nothing is received in the course of time. Amazing. Now if you set up the delivery item category without the movement type your inbound will not even be GR relevant. Just one of these things that's nice to be aware of.

  • MRP Planning

    Hi,
We have an issue where the part created the purchase requistion and gets rescheduled daily and thus the Release date in the purchase requistion gets Changed daily. As of result of which, the PR is not falling within a varint which is used to convert PR into PO.
Part is not used in any BOM and there are no open orders or sales orders for this part. MRP considered this part and created a PR as the safety stock has been consumed. Now whenever MRP runs(MRP runs daily), the requirement date gets Changed automatically, though there is no entry observed in planning file.Backward scheduling is applied in this case.
Your thoughts on this issue is appreciated!
MRP type for the part is PD - MRP
    Safety stock is in negative
Planning mode 1 - Adapt Planning data (Normal) in MD03.
Planning file entry - no MRP planning type is checked
let me know if I am missing anything!
    Thanks

    Hello
On the tab "Quantities/dates" you should check the flag "Fixed ID" so that MRP won't change the requisition anymore.

  • Samples to be consided in planning and costing

Hi, as per iso standards we need to test certain samples like from 200 parts, we need to test 1 sample. so we cut a small piece from the raw material, we test. now our req is system to consider that sample qty in mrp planning and capture that testing cost? pls advise how can we map this in sap.

    Hi
I could not understand your question relateD TO mrp. as per my understanding you are going to consider one metal sheet with 2.4x4.8m in dimensions and in that you are going to cut small portion of the stell piece for inspection..........right in that case it will not consider
but when you are doing production order confirmation that point you are going to maintain Yield and Scrap quantity to adjust to capture the cost
    as per your 2nd question:
in Quality management view you have to maintain the order inspection type as QM01and settelement process to be followed as your requirement individual/collective and as well as QM02.
i hope it will give you an overview for your issue
    Thanks

  • MRP Plan - Alternate BOM vs Substitute Component

We have certain situations where ITEM B (length 5 in) can be used in place of ITEM A (length 3 in) in which just the amount cut off differs.  To be recognized in MRP planning and work order creation, should an alternate BOM be used or a substitute component?
Is there a general rule of thumb that indicates when to use which feature?

    Dear PP watson,
1.While giving the PIR's in MD61,after entering the values click on the schdule line tab page and then in
the top menu click on settings--->prod.version,now against the PIR enter the prod.version whould be
    considered.
So this will be considered during MRP run.
2.IF 2 prod.versions exists for the same lot size and validity dates then the system always picksup the
    first prod.version during MRP run.
3.IF you want the system to consider the second prod.version, then lock the first prod.version before
    taking MRP run.
4.If quota is maintained in MEQ1,then as per this you will get the output in MRP.
Points 2,3,4 is generally used if PIR's are assigned without any prod.version.
    Come back with your queries.

  • Block Stock consider during MRP Run and Stock availibility check

    Dear All,
I am facing the stock availibility check , Sytem consider the Defective material which is Block in same storage location ,and system not generate the Planned order .
-Blocked Material stock 100, and requirement 100 then system not generate the planned. Client need the system generate planned order 100 , Because 100 material is defective.
I have configured the system scope of availibility , Block stock check remove , but problem is not solve.
    Thanks
    Rajesh Tiwari

    Dear ,
Can you please re-check your MRP plant parametrs in OPPQ wether   you have selected blocked stock( Available Stock tab )  option by chance ?
Please de-select the same  and re-run MRP.Generally MRP does not consider block stock  in net requirement calcualtion .One more thing  , MRP does material avilablity check as per OMJJ set up ( define availbality chek ) but does not consider the same while doing net requirement calcualtion to generate PR rather it goes down to MRP plant parametrs ( oppq or oppr )
    Hope this is clear

  • MRP and Availability check clarification

while browsing the forum, many experts here mentioned in old threads that MRP and availability check are two different (independent) concepts. I am really confused on this one. let me put my understanding here and plz experts help me if I am wrong with a figurative explanation, so that will be easy for understanding.
Assume this is the scenario as of today.
    Plant stock for material x u2013 100
    Reservations for material x u2013 70
    Incoming receipts for material x u2013 50
    So net stock = 100 + 50 -70 = 80
sales order arrived for material x u2013 100 and availability check is done. Results of availability check says 80 can be confirmed and 20 can be confirmed on later date.Transfer of requirement for quantity 20 is done to MRP. Mrp runs and creates planned order for 20.
In the availability check config  ovz9 if I say donu2019t consider reservations, then when availability check is done for 100 quantities..system will confirm 100 because available stock according to system will be 100+50 = 150. So transfer or requirements are not sent to mrp.
So isnu2019t mrp run directly dependent on availability check?

    925,
sales order arrived for material x u2013 100 and availability check is done. Results of availability check says 80 can be confirmed and 20 can be confirmed on later date. Transfer of requirement for quantity 20 is done to MRP
No.  100 pcs requirements are passed to MRP.
In the availability check config ovz9 if I say donu2019t consider reservations, then when availability check is done for 100 quantities..system will confirm 100 because available stock according to system will be 100+50 = 150. So transfer or requirements are not sent to MRP.
No, 100 pieces requirement are passed to MRP.
This behavior depends upon how your 'transfer of requirements' is configured, which is an SD setting.  Normally, unless the fix date qty field is set in the sales order, the entire 100 pc requirement is passed to MRP in all cases.  The assumption is that you have accepted the sales order and will 'some day' need to issue and sell the parts.  You need to begin planning for this event  now.
When MRP subsequently runs, it will net out the supply elements (stock and inbound reservations) and will from this calculation determine how much needs to be built.  It then proposes a solution (planned order or purchase req).
ATP check seldom has much impact on MRP.  You are correct in realizing that the ATP check must be consistent with MRP and with your chosen MRP strategies, in order to provide an end-to-end business process that is logical and meets all business requirements.  However, in SAP these two functions are separate.

  • Creating Planned orders and Requisitions for a particular MRP controller and for all the others only Requisition is to be created.

    Hi Experts,
Currently we run Program 'RMMRP000' as a batch job to create Planned orders and requisitions.
The client wants that Planned orders and Requisitions should be created for a particular MRP controller and for all the others only Requisition is to be created.
I implemented Exit 'EXIT_SAPMM61X_001' in the following manner by passing MRP controller to user_key.
      IF mt61d-dispo <> user_key.
        no_planning = 'X'.
      ENDIF.
But as you can see that this will not meet my client requirement.
If any of you has worked on similar requirement / if any one knows that this is achievable or not,
    please share your inputs.

  • Testing MRP scope of planning and MRP lists

    Hi,
I am configuring the scope of planning and want to know how can I test if the planning is happening in the sequence as specified in the scope of planning. I would have around 20 plants in the scope. I thought of going after the time stamp on the receipts created by the system. Is there any table like MDKP which can show me the sequence of planning ?
Also what is the use oif the tcode MD08.... delete MRP lists ? what is the use of deleting these lists besides keeping the system clean
    Thanks

    Hi
Reorganization of the MRP Lists - MD08
A report is available for reorganizing the MRP lists which you can find in the menu for MRP under the menu option, Environment. If you enter the selection criteria, plant, material, and MRP date, the system deletes all the MRP lists from the database that are no longer required. This report can also be started in a test session and you can instruct the system to print out a list of all the deleted MRP lists.
    Further
Deleting MRP Lists - Manually in MD05
If the MRP list is no longer required, you can delete it manually. In order to do this, choose MRP list ® Delete document. The MRP list will be deleted. If you do not delete the MRP list manually, it is stored in the system until a new MRP list is created by a further planning run.

  • MRP II in Production Planning and Control

    Dear all,
I am studing SAP Production planning and control. What is Manufacturing Resource Planning (MRP II) and  what is the role of MRP II in PPC? What all modules MRP II covers in ERP?
    Thanks in advance
    Jenisha

    Hi,
    MRP-II includes following SAP modules:
    Materials Management
    Production Processes
    Quality Management
    Product Costing
The end result of MRP that supports enhanced inventory tracking, limited product and project costing, quality management, and process order management. Despite its complexity, the system is both flexible and easy to use.

  • Production order status and MRP planning - CNF and DLV

I am confirming a production order using CO15. I have a single operation. The control key of the operation says that there will be no goods receipt. The GR will be done seperately using MIGO to order. My order is for 24000. I do a GR for 23000 using MIGO and then do a final confirmation using CO15. The order is now in status CNF and PDLV. Now for planning in MD04 it still shows a pending qty of 1000. If I TECO the order or mark it 'delivery complete' then it is wiped out of planning.
My question is if there is a configuration setting where if a order is in CNF but not delivered it should get wiped out of MRP planning?
    thanks a lot

    John,
The problem is that doing so would lead to (business) inconsitencies and I do not advise you to TECO or DLV the order just to get rid of it.
Whilst it may not be "nice" to see it appear in MD04 it is there for a purpose - to reflect the fact that a quantity is going to be goods receipted.
    EG:
You have an order for 10  --> MD04 shows an expected GR of 10.
You do a final confimration for 7 --> MD04 now shows an expected GR of 7.
When you do the MIGO for the order for a qty of 7 , the order will disappear form MD04 - which is right.
If that order was to disappear from MD04, during yur next MRP, SAP would generate another procurement proposal to cover any requirements you may have.
As Vivek said, I would investigate doing an AUTO GR.
    Hope it helps.

  • Capacity planning and schedulng production order based on availabe capacity

    Hi Gurus,
I am trying to use capacity planning, when the production order is created it takes the order start date as the requirement date. Then when i do he capaity check it says capaity not available. After finite scheduling again it proposes to shift operations by certain days.
I need the capity to be check in MRP and the palled orders to have start dates based on aviable capity, currenty all the palled orders are starting on the requirement date irresptive of avaiabe capaity. I tried using finite scheduling option in MD02 still it does not take in to account exsting production orders for giving dates of the planned orders.
    Regards
    Abhi

    Dear Abhishek,
    1) This is Std SAP of MRP, only material Av check will be carried out in MRP & create procurement
    Proposals
    2) Capacities will not Checked  ( consider ) in MRP in Std R/3
    3) Your Need can be only met through APO
