MRP: Purge Batch Size Profile option

The Longest running planning ODS Load worker was performing delete operation on MSC_Operation_Components and inserting data in to the same table.
I find the MRP: Purge batch size profile option was used by ODS Load Worker.
My question is: Currently the profile option value is 75000. To see if the performance is any better in our test instances, increased it to 350,000. On the first run the runtime performance of the ODS Load worker improved from 69 minutes to 31 minutes. We allowed the profile to stay put to check the performance for a week.
The performance of the ODS Load worker clawed back to 69 minutes. Consuming the same runtime when the profile option was set to 75,000.
What am I missing here? why the profile option is not giving consistent results.
Any tips would be helpful.

Dear PP watson,
1.While giving the PIR's in MD61,after entering the values click on the schdule line tab page and then in
the top menu click on settings--->prod.version,now against the PIR enter the prod.version whould be
considered.
So this will be considered during MRP run.
2.IF 2 prod.versions exists for the same lot size and validity dates then the system always picksup the
first prod.version during MRP run.
3.IF you want the system to consider the second prod.version,then lock the first prod.version before
taking MRP run.
4.If quota is maintained in MEQ1,then as per this you will get the output in MRP.
Points 2,3,4 is generally used if PIR's are assigned without any prod.version.
Come back with your queries.

  • Batch size in MRP

    Dear PP experts,
    I have a requirement which I am explaining in the example below.
    Example:
    I have an FG code "FG1" with BOM batch size as 500 Kgs. having one SFG component as "SFG1" quantity = 500 Kg.
    I have BOM of the same "SFG1" with batch size as 450 Kg. having different components.
    The situation is, at SFG level by using the same quantity I get output between 450 to 500. Whatever output I get at SFG1 level,  I use it to convert to FG1.
    Now when I enter PIR in MD61 for 500 Kg of FG1, system calculates the required quantity of SFG1 = 500 Kg as per the BOM and then accrodingly creates 2 planned orders of 450 Kg at SFG1 level. Due to this the raw material quantity planning is done for 2 batches, but actually I will be producing only one batch of SFG1 and using it for FG1.
    In such cases, is it possible by some means that during MRP, system calculates the SFG1 requirement only of 450 Kgs so that only one planned order is created for the SFG1. This will prevent the additional planning of raw materia also. In short for one batch of FG1 only one planned order of SFG1 should be created.
    Pl. let me know how this can be achieved.
    Thanks in advance.

    Prashant

    Hi,
    There's a general issue in MRP with non-linear lot sizes, like in your case.
    There are a few approaches to it:
    1) MPS before MRP; to avoid over requirements for purchased materials, you define the manufactured levels FG1 and SFG1 as MPS.
    Then in the first instance you run MPS, level production, get rid of unwanted batches, and then run MRP after you have a good stable production schedule.
    2) Plan at component level; use a planning strategy in which you plan at component level, e.g. at the purchased material level. This way you avoid the non-linear issue.
    3) Balance your production flow so you have exact multiples of batches, not like you describe 450 Kg. for SFG1 and 500 Kg. for FG1.
    4) In a MTO scenario you could also try planning with a planning material, in which case the planning material has linear BOMs.

  • Best Practice for manufacturing Industrial Machinery in batch size

    Dear Sir,
    We have a scenario where we need to manufacture Industrial Machine in a Batch Size of 10 nos . These machines have multi level BOM and total manufacturing cycle time is approx 3 months .
    We request you to kindly suggest us about the best manufacturing practices related process we should follow to address this scenario .
    At present , we have been manufacturing these Machines on individual basis ( It means MRP run is done for individual machne and production orders generated are also on individual machine manufacturing basis) .
    We would be highly greatful for the suggested solution pl .

    Dear ,
    Please use the following functionality in your case :
    1.If you are particualr to have 10 pc in each batch qty then keep the Lot Size as Fixed Lot Sixe -FX with Fixed lot size qty as 10 in material master MRP1 view .
    2.As your approximate manufacturing cycle is 3 motnhs , then you can have MRP run once three months for FG   and plan your dependent accordingly through MRP .
    3.If you are following MTS cycle , then create demand in MD61 or you can create direct Sales Order in VA01 for MTO process
    4.Run MRP with NETCH ,1,1.3,3,2 , planned order with FG qty 10 pc will be generated  and you can convert them into Production Order in MD04-Planned order-convert to PO

    Hi,
    The dswsbobje web application (war file) is mentioned in SAP IK XI 3.1 install guide to explain how to get the SAP authentication option available in Business Objects products such as Live Office, which use web services to log on to BusinessObjects Enterprise.
    The source files for various Business Objects web applications are available in "businessobjects_root\BusinessObjects Enterprise 12.0\java\applications\" folder. Refer to "Deploying the web applications using wdeploy" section in SAP IK XI 3.1 install guide to see how to repackage those web apps and deploy them using wdeploy tool.

  • Oracle Apps 11i  Profile Option

    Hello All,
    I Have install oracle apps 11i Vision Demo ,
    I have Problem of Profile Option ,
    When i m Enter in Payable Module and click on invoice Batches
    it Gives me Error Contact System Administrator to Enable the
    Invoice Batach form in Profile Option .
    How to Enable Form in Oracle Apps 11i
    Thanks
    Please Help Me.

    To use batches in AP, you need to enable a profile option.
    Can not remember the exact name.
    Log into system administrator responsibility and find for profiles starting with
    AP% you should be able to determine what is related to enabling batches.
    Set the profile to Yes

  • Attachment files setup profile options in Oracle Applications

    In Oracle Applications exists a functionality that allow attach files to responsibilities. This functionality works fine. But,
    I need setup two different directories for attach files and I cant do it. However, I setup the profile option "attachment
    directory" at site and responsibility level, but always look for in directory defined in site level.
    Ho can I do?.
    If you have information about this or know a workaround, it will be welcome.
    Thanks a lot.

    Here are a couple of things to try:
    1. Make sure there are no spaces in the directory name where you unzipped the installer.
    2. As Pilgrim indicated, you must be an administrator on the workstation in order to run the installer.
    3. Verify you have a clean download: check the file size and/or CRC information to ensure the download is not corrupt.

  • OIC:Pay by Transaction profile option

    We have implemented Oracle Incentive Compensation release 12.0.6
    The profile option, OIC:Pay by Transaction is set to N
    My question is: now can we change the profile option, OIC:Pay by Transaction to Y provided all the payment batches (payruns) in the system are paid.
    Please let me know.

    You can. You may need to close the prior periods. Niot sure what happens if you try to transact in old periods.
    Open TAR with oracle to see if there are any support issues.

  • Can you limit write-behind batch sizes to a set number in Coherence 3.5?

    I'm currently running Coherence 3.5.3p9 on Windows.
    The cache store is set up to use the write-behind scheme via the read-write-backing-map-scheme tag.
    Batching is enabled with a write-delay of 5s.
    My understanding is that essentially anything that was newly inserted into the cache more than 5 seconds ago becomes eligable for storage.
    Our application goes through a bit of a peak-trough cycle. Sometimes very little data is inserted all at once and sometimes a lot is. This results in quite varying batch sizes and big batch sizes do cause issues on our db from time to time.
    I can decrease the write-delay to 1s in the hope that this will in turn decrease the batch sizes, but is there a way to set a specific number e.g. I only ever want to write 20 in a batch?

    Hi,
    you can just break down that big batch into smaller batches (DB transactions) yourself, and you can also decide that you don't want to write more at the moment.
    If you throw an exception Coherence will retry whatever is in the parameter map passed to storeAll and parameter collection to eraseAll. But it does not have to be the full list, it is expected that you remove those entries/elements which you have successfully persisted.
    This way you can control the rate of writing yourself. Also, since the write-behind thread does not block event processing, therefore you are sort of safe to do longer waits in those methods if you want to somewhat space out resource transactions without returning from storeAll.
    To answer your question:
    You can either
    - do a physical transaction of 20 elements, remove those 20 elements from the map, then optionally wait and then continue with more elements from the map as long as there are any (this gives you the chance of controlling the rate of transactions).
    - send a physical transaction of at most 20 elements to the database, remove those 20 elements from the map and then throw a dummy exception (in which case Coherence requeues the rest... take care, after this they are considered freshly changed entries).
    Best regards,
    Robert

  • Not able to get the profile option value

    Hi,
    Not able to get the profile option value after i changed the new value in the application.
    I am using fnd_global.apps_initialize to initialize the apps from PLSQL code to get the updated profile option value. But fnd_profile.value is not getting fetched the updated value. Still it is fetching the old one. I mean it is stored in database cache. Please any one let me know how to get the new value every time after i changed the value.
    Thanks

    What is the application release?
    Is this a custom or seeded profile option?
    Can you confirm that the value got changed from the application (query the profile option and verify the value)?
    Can you reproduce the issue if you use an API to update this profile option as per (How to Change Profile Option Value Without Forms? [ID 943710.1])?

  • To generate xml code in encoding  as specified in system profile options

    Hi,
    i have a customer bug wherein the report page which is generated after a particular process, which is a .xml file, does not open because we have special characters which are not getting encoded properly!..
    the probable solution to this would be to encode the .xml file in the encoding format specified in system profile options.
    After the content generation the following code is used to generate the tags and the .xml page:
    DBMS_XMLGEN.setRowSetTag(l_qryCtx,'INVOICE_SET');
    DBMS_XMLGEN.setRowTag(l_qryCtx, 'INVOICE_RECORD');
    DBMS_XMLGEN.setBindValue(l_qryCtx,'BATCH_ID', p_batch_id);
    DBMS_XMLGEN.setBindValue(l_qryCtx,'SUPPLIER_ID', rec.supplier_id);
    DBMS_XMLGEN.setBindValue(l_qryCtx,'SITE_ID', rec.site_id);
    l_result_clob :=DBMS_XMLGEN.GETXML(l_qryCtx);
    l_result_clob := substr(l_result_clob,instr(l_result_clob,'>')+1);
    l_temp_invoice_count := DBMS_XMLGEN.getNumRowsProcessed(l_qryCtx);
    l_invoice_count := l_invoice_count + l_temp_invoice_count;
    DBMS_XMLGEN.closeContext(l_qryCtx);
    clob_to_file(l_result_clob);
    here we have a transaction type in portugese like Nota de Crédito
    and the issue summary is as follows
    It contains some foreign language symbols which are not encoded in UTF-8 format hence IE is showing the error. Even though in mozilla the file is completely opened but the same foreign language symbol is not shown. So the error exists in all the browsers.
    can you please suggest how the encoding maybe done so as to avoid the above problem!...
    and also how to include the encoding as per mentioned in the system profile options.

    Hi,
    >>>The XSD doesn't have any messages only simple and complex types - I can't seem to relate (via drag and drop) them to a data or message type to generate the required objects.
    maybe it has some reference inside to some other types which you did not get?
    if so you need to import into IR/ESR all files and put the correct reference (external archives)
    this would be the proper way to get the file generated according to the xml schema

  • How do you change the default size of the print batch size for mail merge in Publisher 2010?

    I appended this question to another thread with the same topic but have not received a reply, so I'll try with a new question. Publisher 2010, when doing mail merge, will only merge and print two records at a time. How do you change the default size of
    the print batch size? This is for a 4 page document, 8 1/2 x 11, printed two sides on 11 x 17. I've tried all the suggestions that were in the other thread. The response that was marked as the answer by the moderator is incorrect and does not work. Nothing
    suggested in that thread works. A registry fix that worked for Publisher 2003 won't work because the print batch size key does not exist in the registry for Pub 2010. At least not that I can find. Printing to an XPS document doesn't work. It asks for a filename,
    prints 2 records, asks for new file name, prints 2 records, asks for new file name, and so on. The same for printing to a PDF document. Merging to a new Pub document doesn't work. When I print that job every other sheet is turned over. I.e., sheet one has
    pages 1 & 3 on top, next sheet has 3 & 4 on top, and so on. This makes it impossible to run them through the folder. The same thing happens when I print that complete merged document to XPS or PDF. I have the latest drivers installed for our printer, a Toshiba
    2500C copier/printer connected via network. What do I need to do to to change the batch size to something reasonable, like 100 records?

    It's been two weeks since I posted this question. What does it take to get an answer? I cannot believe it's being ignored, nor can I believe that someone in MS doesn't have an answer.

  • How to track the User who has changed the System Profile Options

    HI ,
    The system profile options are changed by one User (Ex: XX123).
    Here, the user XX123, he is not having any sys admin responsibilities .
    He is having only I-proc responsibility attached .
    Is there any chance to update the system profile options , through I-proc.

    Pl post details of OS, database and EBS versions, along with which profile options have been changed.
    AFAIK, IProc responsibilities do not have access to change profile options.

  • Dynamical change read only property of  columns based on a profile option

    Hi,
    We are attempting to change a Oracle iProcurement(ShoppingCartPG) which has certain readonly columns by default.
    However, we need to make these columns updateable based on a responsibility level profile option. The code goes something like this.
    if readonly_profile_option = "TRUE"
    {make columnA property = readonly}
    else if readonly_profile_option = "FALSE"
    {make columnA property = updateable}
    I read the guide about switchers and it seems confusing (to me). So if someone can provide an example with some pseudocode that will be helpful.
    Also, can I dynamically add an LOV to column A if readonly is false? Of course the LOV should be disabled if readonly.
    Thanks a lot

    Hi,
    Thanks for the feedback.
    Tapash,
    Switchers definitely don't make sense.
    Raffy,
    Didn't know it was that simple. I always thought that the controller fires--> then the page renders --> then the VO attributes get poulated. Basing my understanding on this flow, I though that the bean properties can only be set in controllers and not in VOs(via SPEL). I'll try it tomorrow.
    Aprreciate your comments on the following.
    Our requirement is to make an Oracle seeded field(SupplierName in iProcurement) updateable and with an LOV . Oracle has seeded it as ReadOnly.
    I have two options.
    1. If I change the readonly property in jedeveloper(I cannot access it via personalization) and add SPEL that would be upgrade 'unsafe' customizing - I think.
    2. So I thought I'll extend the controller, substitute it and use
    messageLOVInputText SupplierNameBean=webbean.findChildRecursive("SupplierName");
    if{profle=not_read_only)
    {SupplierNameBean.setReadOnly(false)};
    else
    {SupplierNameBean.setReadOnly(true)};
    This is more upgrade safe. I have talked to the iProc development team and they are fine with it.

  • Setting profile option values using Java Concurrent Program

    Hi,
    I have a java concurrent program in which i am trying to update a profile option which is enabled only at site level, but the values are not getting committed once the CP completes.
    1. I am using CpContext.getProfileStore().SetProfile(<name>,<value>) to set the value.
    2. I am printing CpContext.getProfileStore().getProfile(<name>) in the same run and this works.
    3. BUt once the CP completes, the values are gone. Seems we have to issue a commit.
    3. So i used CpContext.getJDBCConnection().commit; Even this doesn't commit.
    Pls. suggest. Has anyone used these APIs to update profile options?
    Thanks,
    Suresh.

    I am not not a java expert, but pl see if MOS Docs 305710.1 (A SAMPLE JAVA CONCURRENT PROGRAM) and 827563.1 (How To Create a Java Concurrent Program?) can help
