MRP REGEN Issue

      Could you guys help me to solve out this issue will be grateful
          In my client there are two plants, let us consider plant A & plant B. In both the plant we are running the MRP REGN job weekly with the parameter set-up as following.
Plant:                Plant A.
Processing Key:     NEUPL.
Create Purchase Req:     2 [Purchase Requisition in Opening Period].
Delivery Schedules:     3 [Schedule lines].
Create MRP List:     1 [MRP List].
Planning Mode:     2 [Re-explode BOM and routing].
Scheduling:          2 [Lead time scheduling and capacity planning].
Plant:                Plant B.
Processing Key:     NEUPL.
Create Purchase Req:     2 [Purchase Requisition in Opening Period].
Delivery Schedules:     3 [Schedule lines in the opening period].
Create MRP List:     1 [MRP List].
Planning Mode:     2 [Re-explode BOM and routing].
Scheduling:          2 [Lead time scheduling and capacity planning]
As per the above set-up we are facing a problem in REGEN job for PLANT A as, When ever the REGEN job runs, it kills all the open purchase req and recreates the purchase req with same qty for non account assigned requirements [Purchase Req].
In PLANT B- REGEN job is working fine as we expected like that, It wonu2019t kills the open purchase req.
My issue is PLANT-A whenever the MRP REGEN jobs,it should not kill the open purchase requisitions.
What are all the steps I need to proceed to avoid the killing of open purchase req and regeneration of new one with the every run.

We are running NETCH & NEUPL in our plant, so NETCH & NETPL are more are less same.
I am looking forward the solution to solve out the REGEN [NEUPL] issue.

Hi All,
Its'a biggest and hottest issue for me, really I am frustrated with this issue, so any of you please guide me to solve this issue will be grateful.
Issue:
We are running a MRP-REGEN job on every sunday after this run I am seeing lot of material in the planning file are selected with RESET PROCUREMENT PROPOSALS indicator, so in next MRP run all the planned orders , purchase req & schedule lines related to those materials are deleted and recreated this affects our KPI of purchase requisition.
Please guide me........
Why Reset procurement proposals are marked after MRP-REGEN for some of the materials?
Is there anyway can we avoid setting of Reset procurement proposal indicator after MRP-REGEN run for materials?
My ultimate aim is I need to skip the Reset Procurement Proposals indicator for materials after MRP-REGEN run........
In my other plants I am not facing this issue.........but I am unable to find the behind sceens...........Please guide me............

Here are the following statement I read in help.SAP
During regenerative planning, all materials are planned for a plant. This makes sense when you are carrying out the planning run for the first time as well as later during production if data consistency cannot be guaranteed due to *technical error.*
In the above statement they mentioned about Technical Error
What does it mean ?
when it will occur?
Can you guys could give me some examples of Technical Errors?
How can we get ride of the Technical Error without running MRP-REGEN [NEUPL].
Other statement I came across on help.SAP
If you have changed the settings of an MRP type, a lot-sizing procedure or a purchasing department processing time in Customizing, the materials that are affected by these changes thus have no planning file entry and are not included automatically in the net change planning. To enable the changes made to take effect, you choose regenerative planning in the initial screen of the planning run or make an entry manually in the planning file.
Material Master and all power users will frequently use to
change based on their need on MRP type and Lot -sizing , then If we change frequently then we have to run MRP-REGEN regularly?
or MRP-NETCH will take care .
my next question is
If we have a demand or any goods movement automatically planning file entry will be created for the material then why in the above statement they asked us to create a Planning file entry. If planning file entry will be created- MRP type changeor lot-sizing or purchase department processing time change will be taken care by MRP -NETCH job? or we need to run MRP-REGEN?

MRP Regen Program

I am trying to figure out which MRP regen job to use for my plant. We tried mirroring what our other plant was using : program RMMRP000 (paramters: no scope, Plant, NETCH, 1, 3, 1, 1, 1), but most of our materials were not regend. We tried a few different parameters (plant, NEUPL, 2, 3, 1, 1, 2)....still, it is not regening all our materials. When I go in to manully regen by part(SAPMM61X) - my material does regen as I would expect. My questions is...how do I know which program I am supposed to use; SAPmm61X or RMMRP000 or RMMPS000?? The demand here is driven 2 different ways...either via Sales Order or via MM re-order point. They do not load a master schedule. Any feedback is greatly appreciated. Thanks.

do I need to continue to run MDAB or is it a one time run. What if we add new materials...will they get included in the MRP regen or do I need to schedule MDAB?
You don't need to run MDAB everytime. Whenever you create a new material, it will be added automatically in the planning file entry.
Note:If materials were created before MRP was activated for a plant, you must maintain the planning file entry manually.
What is MDRE for and is it required?
MDRE is the same as MDAB, but it checks the consistency of the variants you have created for MDAB. Eg: If some materials that has to be excluded for planning (ND in MRP ), then those materials can be removed from the planning file entry. MDRE checks that and tell you to exclude.
What is the difference betweem NETCH, NETPL and NEUPL?
NEUPL - Regenerative Planning
   This will run MRP for all the materials in the planning file entry.
NETCH - Net Change planning in the Total Horizon
   This will run MRP for the materials that are marked for planning in the planning file. The marking will happen when there is a change in the stock or PO etc.
NETPL - Net Change planning in the planning Horizon
   This will run MRP for the materials that are marked for planning in the planning file. The marking will happen based on the configuration in OXI8 for the plant and planning Horizon(number of days) you mentioned for it.
Should my create purchase req be 1 or 2?

Project Based MRP run issue

Hi Friends,
There is one issue reg. Project Based MRP Run as below :
We are running MRP through MD51 (Project based MRP run). For this we are assigning FG material code under respective WBS Element which generates Network reservation with movement type 281Q which is base of MRP run in MD51. After MRP run we get planned order generation and then convert it to Production order and execute Production Order to receive Project Stock after GR.
After receiving Project stock and then selling it through Post Goods Issue through SD cycle, project stock is consumed but network reservation is not getting closed which results in again generation of planned order if MRP is run again.
I need your valuable inputs if we are missing any configuration setting which can set Final issue indicator in reservation while Posting Goods Issue (PGI) in SD because FI indicator checking will only ensure reservation doesnu2019t take part in planning again.

MRP-PS Issue

Dear Experts
Scnrio:
MRP runs starts from the tcode MD51 where a material xyz is required for Qt 20 as internal activity. After MRP run system makes reservation of xyz material for Qt.20 with appropriate parameters & supplying plant.
MRP also creats a MRP-PR for Account assignment category "Q" for the Quantity of 20 minus project stock of xyz material .This PR is not required. What is the configuration steps to avoid this PR only resrvation is enough.

in automatic reservation system creating against mov type 261.
if your issuing the stock with 311 move type you have to create the manual reservations
Si kindly chek the automatic reservation setup. if creating the reservations automatic check the movement types. if system taking the mov type 221 ?

MRP list issue

Hello,
I am having issues when I run MD05 MRP list for a material. It gives me the below error.
"No MRP list exists"
This is a material just extended to a new plant with no stock. Is this issue because there is no stock for it and/or because its a newly extended material?
Same material in a different plant does give me the MRP list view when I run MD05.

Have you had an MRP run after the creation of this material?
If not, then it is obvious that an old MRP run does not know anything about a material created after this event.

MRP List issue(MD05)

Thanks for the Response. I want to confirm one thing.
"MD05 is for displaying MRP Result.Once you run MRP for that material then only you will find the result in it unless you will find that " NO MRP list exists" message."
The above statement you made (no MRP list exists) is true only in the case of a newly created/extended material for which MRP was never run.
For material which already exists it would still show data in the MRP list from the last MRP run. Isnt it?

MRP PR issue

Hi Experts,
Can anybody help me on our issue?
Problem:
MRP generated PR had item category "L" when we click the PR components icon "NO COMPONENTS"message. So they manually keyin the components tru ME52N and save.
Issue is, once it was saved we are not able to find who change the PR.
We already check the CDPOS and CDHDR, no data changed.
Is this acceptable?

Hi,
The changes display are the release strategy only. There is no BOM for this material initially but the User do it manually in PR instead of creating a BOM. Our problem is we want to know who do it manually since this is not the propert way, but there is no traceability. i already check the Changes.
Any other idea on this?

Data Guard - MRP stuck issues on a physical standby database

Hi,
Oracle 11.2.0.3 DG running. When i do a switchover the physical standby database has error with following error
ARC0: LGWR is actively archiving destination LOG_ARCHIVE_DEST_2
ARCH: Archival stopped, error occurred. Will continue retrying
ORACLE Instance <primaryDB> - Archival Error
On standby DB
SQL>select process, thread#, sequence#, status from v$managed_standby where process='MRP0';
PROCESS THREAD# SEQUENCE# STATUS
MRP0 1 548 APPLYING_LOG
So according to Oracle support link i executed following
SQL>recover managed standby database cancel;
SQL>recover automatic standby database;
The above seems to resolve the issue. What is causing is this?

Yes, I would open an SR since it appears you have done everything correct.
ORA-600 [3020] "Stuck Recovery" [ID 30866.1]
The "Known Bugs" section of the above has a few 11.2.0.3 entries.
Generally the MRP gets stuck because data Guard thinks there's a GAP, you run out of room in the FRA on the Standby, or redo logs are too small and the system is switching very fast.

MRP related issue

hi dudes,
i am having crucial problem that our process had been configured according to MTS scenario and having manual batch management where the batches for materials created in such a way that will represent the variants of that material.
we are not planning planned independent requirements though we are giving 40 strategy and from sales order requirements we are getting planned orders on WB(weekly lot size).
here problem is batch no is giving in sales orders in order to identify characteristics of material and MRP will not plan batches stock. so any one suggest how can we modify slightly our current process in order to use normal MRP process.

here we are having one client having the process which is suitable for variant configuration. but due to some reasons we gone for batches for individual materials to define variants of that material according to grade, colour like characteristics..initially we set manual production order creation according to sales information. now as client requires the process faster and simple, we are trying set MRP, but MRP look at total stock but at not batch level.
so we can not set MRP at batch level, but we have to think to do something regarding with the process to be suitable with MRP.
can you give some idea.......

MRP Area issue

Hi Experts,
I have the following business scenario. My sales order are created based on contracts. After I activate my MRP area functionality, notice that my MRP run was not working anymore. After making some analysis I noitce that my Sales Order are being created with some MRP area that can be checked on the availability check on the sales order VA03 transaction.
It seems that this MRP area is coming now from the contract, the fact is that I cannot understand why this kind of behavior, since the material is not activated by MRP area and since the MRP area is different from the plant, then the MRP run did not work.
Please, could anyone help me on that?

DIMP 471 to ERP Upgrade requires MRP regen

With our trial upgrade from Enterprise 470 with DIMP 471 industry to ERP 60 (basis 13, app 11, ECC - DIMP 11, we are finding it necessary to delete all mrp lists and run regenerative mrp for all plants to prevent an abap dump with collective mrp lists.
mdtc is the table involved. We have been unicode for a year now so it is the change to erp60 with DIMP that has required this rather tedious post upgrade process. There are no notes about this. Has anyone encountered this?

Solution is to follow advice in note 1009454 that was about a Unicode error with DIMP but is also relevant to this situation.
After the release upgrade, delete the old MRP lists using transaction MD08. Afterwards, you can create the MRP lists again using an MRP with the NEUPL processing key.

MRP - Stock transfer PO

Dear PP gurus
I have one MRP related issue . Right now i have configured in such a way that if stock is there , all stock transfer PO's are not considerd for MRP run. But if enough stock is not there for stock transfer PO then system will create extra Planned orders .
My requirement is eventhough enough stock is not there , system should not considerd my stock transfer PO's for MRP run.
Can anybody can guide me how to configure this .

Subcontracting POs -- planning components with MRP

Hi!
I would really appreciate getting your help to resolve the following issue.
Ex: We use subcontracting to get our vendor to produce Part X with components A, B and C that we supply (we may have the components in stock or we may need to buy them externally). We use subcontracting BoMs.
When MRP runs, it creates a purchase req for Part X -- which is what we want.
But it doesn't create requisitions or reservations for components A, B and C.
MRP creates reqs or reserv. ONLY when I issue my purchase order for Part X.
How can I get MRP to issue requisitions or reservations for components A B and C while Part X is still at the requisition stage.
