MRP relevance of special stocks

Hi Experts,
I am working with project systems using Q stock.  When I move Q stock into a none MRP relevant storage location the stock is still used and netted in the MRP calculation.  The storage location is set to none relevant in OMIR, and also in the materials MRP4, I noticed the same behavior with E stock.  Is it simply that the special stock indicator is considered prior to the storage location, or is it something I can control.  The reason I don't want to drop the stocks into unrestricted is because we use generic materials in project stock and for E stock we are heavy VC users and the materials mean nothing once their link to the project/sales order is lost.  I want to be able to keep the link to the project/sales order while quality decisions made but to start the replanning process, specifically with lower level requirements
Regards,
Jez

Hello Jez
This is the standard behavior.
Both project stock and storage location planned separately or excluded from MRP are special stock segments and a planning element can only belong to one specific special stock segment.
Therefore, it is not possible to have a storage location planned separately on a project stock.
The workaround here is to use an MRP area. Generally, individual stocks are only possible on the plant MRP area, however, you can use the business function OPS_PS_CI_1 in the project system to achieve a work breakdown structure (WBS) account assignment on MRP area level.

  • MRP - MD04 and special stocks - how to manipulate exclusion in Avail.Stock

    Hello,
I have the following question about the Avalable stock which appears in the MD04 trx. for a material in a Plant.
This Stock Available normally includes stock "Unrestricted Use" and one can customize the inclusion of Blocked Stock, Restricted use Stock, and "Stock in transfer" in this Stock Available.
My question is related to the other types of stock which appear in the MD04 as included in the Available Stock (Quality control, returns, Consignment, Valuated Stock at Vendor, etc.)
Where can I manipulate theis inclusion or exclusion of these types of stock in the "Stock Available" in the MD04? Is this Config or do I have to activate a user exit?
The stock Type "Material Packing - Lending" also can be excluded from the Available Stock in the MD04?
    Thanks for any reply,
    Aart

    Thanks for the replies,
Maybe I did not state my question well:
My Client uses "Stock in Consignment" and "Stock of Packaging in Lending"  (both in Unrestricted use) in a Plant.
He does not want these stock types to play a part in MRP as available stock. In the MD04 trx. SAP estandard seems to include always in its Availbale stock these kinfd of stocks. Is there a way I can exclude them?
    Thanks for any replies,

  • Special stock for an STO and MRP segment

    Hi,
I have a scenario wherein I need to differentiate between stocks for two diff. STO's in manufacturing plant coming in from 2 diff. plants. The demand at the recieving plant is through reorder point which then drives creation of an STO. I cannot use a MTO strategy as its on ROP. This material is on a MTO strategy at supplying plant while its on ROP (make to stock) at recieving plant.
Is there any way I could create a separate MRP segment or special stock for each STO at supplying plant?
Each STO has diff. label info hence we need to differentaiate stocks between STO's.

  • Consider Special stock in MRP run

    Hi all,
Is it possible to consider the special stock (table MSLB) when I run MRP (MD01)?

Special stock cannot be included in the MRP run, either you have to make it unrestricted or implement a BAdI or userexit.

  • MRP - project (special) stock

    Hi guys,
    I have 3 questions.
    1. In our storage location we are using project (special) stock. When I create reservation MRP creates PR. I post GR and than material is on the project stock. However during the next planning run MRP creates PR for the same reservation. Why MRP doesn't take into account project stock? Is it possible to change it?
    2. MRP creates PRs with the delivery thate of the 1st day of the open period. Always 1 PR per material per week. How can I force MRP to create 1 PR per week for all of the materials from the same deliverer?
    3. Is it possible to create PRs with the delivery date situated 4 workdays before the opening period.
    BIG points are waiting:)
    Regards
    Piotrek

    Hi,
are you using a grouping WBS element for your project stock? That makes sense if you want to have only "one" stock for the whole project and not one for every WBS element.

  • Exclude special stock (project) from MRP run

    Hi,
Would need to exclude special stocks representing project stocks from MRP calculation. Could not seem to find a way to control this via config similar to options available for blocked and in-transit stocks.  Is there an option to do this in config?  Thanks...

    Hi,
You can exclude the stock by creating storage location MRP.
Create separate str location for project stock by MMSC.
In the material master of mrp 4 view, str location indicator - select Exclude str loc from mrp  for new ie, project str loc.
Check your Plant & str location by checking Plant/ data view in material master whether you have excluded the correct str location which you have newly created.
When mrp run system exclude this str location.

  • Error M7 146 : Special Stock E not supported

    Hello Everybody,
We have the following situation and would request your suggestions:-
In VL01N, we are trying to do a PGR via Returns Delivery (Delivery Type LR) for a Make-To-Order product. The system gives the error M7 146 "Special Stock E not supported (check your entry)".
Cause: In the background, it is trying to do a Movement Type 651 and is expecting an "E" for special stock. However, in T/Code OMJJ, the Movement Type 651 does not have the entry for Special Stock "E".
    Question:
Would the introduction of the value "E" for 651 for MTO have any impact on MTS products because MTS products also use 651 for MTS, althought they use it WITHOUT the "E".  Yet, it might not be advisable to risk changing standard SAP Movement Types after going live. Hence, this question to you all. Your advise and experiences would be most appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Srinivas

    Hello All,
This issue has not been resolved. Could someone help ? In simple terms:-
We have an MTO product that was sold with SAP Special Stock Indicator "E" + Material Master Strategy 20 that is now coming back to the company for repairs.
To receive the product, we create a Returns Order and try to do a Returns Delivery and PGR.
However, while trying to create a Returns Delivery, the system says "Only 0 EA of material xxxx available. An item with no delivery quantity is not permitted. Item will be deleted".
Question: Why is the system expecting Stock to exist for Returns ?
    NOTE:
    1) The issue is NOT with the Delivery Item Category field "Check Quantity 0". It should have value "B".
    2) The Item Cat & Sch Line Cat for Returns are NOT relevant for Availability nor for Transfer of Requirements.
    3) The Item Cat is NOT relevant for the Special Stock Indicator because it is the same for MTO products and MTS products.
    Thanks,
    Srinivas

  • Special Stock Indicator

Hi.  We are trying to come up with a way to not allow picking for material in a WM location that will still allow the netting of the inventory.  Because of the complication of an electronic conveyor system, etc, the business does not want to create a new storage location or storage type.
Is there any special stock indicator that will do this?  Any other suggestiong ???
    Thank you in advance !!
    Dianne

I want to be able to net the inventory.  I want it included in MRP.  And I want to store it in the existing bins and storage types.  I just do not want it to be pickable.

  • Special stock indicator taking wrongly

    Dear All,
I have a problem while creating production order for MTO scenario (strategy 20 ).
In the components overview of the production order, system is selecting Special stock indicator as 1 (Individual customer stock) instead of Plant stock.
So that I am not able to issue the components to that Production order from the Unrestricted use stock.
Please suggest me what configuration settings need to be checked.
    Thanks & Regards
    Bala

    Hi,
Pls. make the following change in Material Master :
    Go to MRP-4 View---> Individual /Coll. Indicator --->
Change it from 1 Individual Requirements to 2 Collective requirements.
    This will resolve your problem.

  • Special stock indicator in req type

    Hi all,
Can anyone tell where is the settings given for the special stock indicator E in Req type KE...
    Regards,
    Joseph.

    Dear Joseph,
I guess this material must be planned using the planning strategy 20,for which after taking a MRP run,the system proposes a
planned order of order type KD and account assignment category as with E.
check the configuration settings for the account assignment category in T.code OPPS for the planning strategy 20.
and for this planning strategy planned materials the system creates planned order for the order type KD - individual customer
    order.
    Check and revert back.

  • Special stock indicator in production order

    Hi,
We have a new business scenario from sales department.
For example, A is a MTO item, it has component B & C. Now there is a sales order for A come in, and system create a production order, but there is no enough stock for B. They want to:
1, Allocate C to the production order and other production order or sales order can not take it away via V_V2 or MRP run.
    2. Create another seperate purchase order for B and want this purchase order also allocate to this production order.
    3. They do not want to use WIP stock because it is difficult to display WIP stock in SAP you know.
I trying to use the special stock indicator "E" for components in production order, and I move C to custom stock via 412 E with no issue.
But when I create a purchase order for B with account assignment "F",  it goes to normal stock in MD04. After I post GR for the purchase order, the quantity goes to production order directly, does not show in MD04 and did not reduce the requirement quantity.
If I create a purchase order for B with account assignment "E", it gives an error message "Sales document item is not defined for the transaction. I tried to change the requirement type from "KMFA" to "KE" in the sales order for A, and the production order disappeared, it is not accepted.
How should I define and configure the process?
    Thank you so much.
    Albert

    Hi Albert
I suggest you to take a look on the setting "individuall/collective" on the tab MRP4 of the material master.
For both components, you should set the value 1 and system will always plan the components under the sales order special stock.

  • IW32 - changing special stock indicator on component reservation

    Hello
My client has a question with regards to chaning the special stock indicator on a reservation through transaction IW32.  We can change a reservation from blank SSI to special stock indicator P but we are unable to change special stock indicator P to SSI blank. Do any of you know if this is possible.
Also, do you know if there is a BAPI that exists for this transaction?
    Many thanks
    Sue

Thank you for the information but I am not clear on what you are saying...
I understand that the settings that are in MRP screens will drive the reservation i.e. individual / collective and EX lot for lot but what I don't understand it how that stops you changing the reservation once it has been created.
I can create a reservation for a material if it is ind / coll and EX without the item having a special stock indicator P.  I can then change the reservation from blank to P.  What I cannot do is if the reservation was created with a special stock indicator of P, I cannot change to blank.
    Kind regards
    Sue

  • Special stock indicator in Production Order Component overview

    Hi  Team,
I have one finished product , for which i have created BOM . It has only one component in it .
Now i am creating a Sales order , based on the definition and requirement set , system is creating a production order in background.
When i go to production order and see components overview screen , there is one field special stock . This is getting filled with '1'  - Individual customer stock always.
Even though we have stock in storage location , it is expecting components to be in Sales order stock .
If i create a stand alone production order for same materials , there is no special stock indicator set in components .
Can any body let me know how is this special stock field getting populated and what settings has to be reviewed in order to supress the same.
    Thanks,
    sudhakar

    Sudhakar,
Check the MRP parameter 'Individual/Coll' in MRP4 view for the components. This should be set as 2 for collective planning. If this flag is left blank then planning will be based on the parent material (If the parent material is planned for special stock then the components will also be planned for special stock)
Let me know if this helps.
    Thanks,
    Jaison

  • How to avoid special stock indicator for intercompany sales transitions.

    Hi Friends
I have an issue Intercompany sales .if I  enter intercompany plant(Delivering plant) in the sales order system is taking special stock indicator and looking for sales order stock.
If I enter company code plant for sales from unrestricted stock, system is not taking special stock indicator.
Please advice how to avoid special stock indicator for intercompany sales transitions.
    Thanks in advance.
    SRK

    Ravi,
Special stock is generally determined by the MRP strategy group in the material master of the plant against which you place your order.  The strateg(ies) contained in the strategy group will determine the SO requirements type, which will in turn determine whether or not the order is 'account assigned' (special stock).
It is normal to only have one strategy contained in a strategy group.  However (and I seldom recommend this) SAP will support multiple strategies within one strategy group.  In this case, you could have both MTS and MTO orders against the same plant/material, by manually altering the requirements type in the sales order.  This scenario is usually difficult for a planner, and involves additional manual attention to make everything work.
I suggest that your first avenue is to change the Strategy group in the material master of the delivering plant to one that supports MTS.  This has a big impact in Controlling and in Production Planning, so ensure that all affected functional groups are aware of what you are doing, and of the resulting changes that they will experience.  The transition from MTO to MTS must be carefully controlled.
If you are not a PP expert, I suggest you consult with your local PP expert before embarking on this change.
    Best Regards,

  • CO07 and special stock indicator for components

    Hello,
My final purpose is to be able to call components from project stock in production orders without header material, created in CO07.
I notice a strange behavior and would be glad to recieve some explanations.
Production orders are assigned to a WBS. If I indicate the WBS in the CO07 selection screen, the special stock indicator for the components is determined as expected:
If view MRP 4 for the component says "Individual requirements" then special stock indicator is set to "Project stock"
If view MRP 4 for the component says "Collective requirements" then special stock indicator is set to "Common stock"
Second scenario is that I don't provide the WBS in the CO07 selection screen, but provide it in the assignment tab later. In this case, the special stock indicator for components will always be empty (common stock) by default, without any possibility to modify this manually.
Is anybody able to explain me why?
    Merry Christmas to all.

    Hi!
Actually it is not related to SAP Manufacuting Execution solution - so you'd rather re-post the question to ERP-related forum. This can help you find a proper one.
