MRP Reports

I would like to know where I can get a report that would show all the move in, move out, and cancel messages. I know that MD04 shows these messages, but where can I get these messages on a report i can print or convert to an excel spreadsheet? Any help would be muich appreciated.

Yes these are only two mrp reports available. Although you have the option of individual or collective display for them. Using T-code MD06 and MD07 for that.

MRP Reports by Manufacturer

Hi All, I have a requirement to provide a report which will display the MRP settings for a perticular manufacturer! none of the standard MRP reports display the manufacturer i.e. MD04, MD05, MD06 and MD07! is there any inventory reports which can be run from the manufacturer which include the current MRP setting? Thanks!

There is no such report present, but you can trace the data via SQVI query, use the table MDVA...
You can also use the table MDVA and check it in SE16 tcode...from there you can also download it...and check the current settings...

Check MD07 report. If it does not suit then go for a Z report using MD_STOCK_REQUIREMENTS_LIST_API or BAPI_MATERIAL_STOCK_REQ_LIST

Inactive items show in the MRP Report

Inventory items marked as inactive show in the MRP report - 8.8, SP0, PL12. If there are requirements, they show regardless of whether or not Display Items without Requirements is checked. If there are no requirements and the Display Items without Requirements is checked, inactive items show too. Is this intentional? My customer wants to know this and doesn't understand why their inactive items are showing in the MRP Report.

Hello Sally,
Did you check the following path:
Administration>System Initialization>General Settings-->Inventory Tab
Under this tab at the very last you have a checkbox " Display Inactive Items in Reports". Please uncheck this option and try running MRP again. Let us know if you still have questions.

MRP reports for all Purchase Requisitions

I want a SAP standard report that will give me a list of all Purchase Requisition created via MRP run, it can also include manually createed PR's. The main aim is for the Materials Mansger to view all PR's, even if he/she don't have the authorization to release it.

Doesn't standard transactions (ME55, ME5A) suit your requirement?

MRP Reporting

Hi,
we are reporting on MRP data using the function module used in MD04 transaction. (MD_STOCK_REQUIREMENTS_LIST_API).
To pass this function module we took the list of materials and plant from
MDKP table and passed it to FM and got the MRP data with the belief MDKP has entries with MRP type as MD for the materials and plant for which MRP has run atleast once.
But after NETCH run we notice few material and plant entries are missing in MDKP.
What could be the reason why the entries in MDKP are missing after NETCH Run.

We need receipts data from MRP. Hence we took all entries in MDKP and passed to Function module and got all receipts data.
After NETCH run few entries in MDKP are missing hence we are not able to get receipts for those materials but for those materials we are able to see Receipts data in MD04 .

Is there a report to track the exception messages after a MRP run ?

We have a scenario at our client site where MRP run is not optimized to the fullest.
The planners are not trained on how to interpret those exception messages.
They are not trained on how to reschedule / expedite planned orders resulting from an MRP run.
Is there a report out in SAP that keeps track of
1) History of number of exception messages by type ( Expedite/Reschedule/Cancel)
2) History of number of exception messages that were acted on or ignored by the planner.
This is to create metrics on the usage of MRP exception reports by planners.

The exception messages are dynamic and time dependant. You cannot have history of exception message.. If your user is feeling difficult to use standard MRP reports. Create a new report using a function module MD_STOCK_REQUIREMENTS_LIST_API
It gives all MRP data including exception messages.

MRP Procurement Compliance Report.

Hi Experts,
I need to do data validation for a MRP Procurement Compliance report.
The report will be executed in Netweaver Business Client as a BI Report.
For Data Validation I will need Standard MRP Reports to check that the data being pulled for the BI report is correct.
Any advice/suggestions to what reports I could use?

This Report provides an overview of Purchase orders that do not comply with the requirements of MRP based procurement.
The requirements are as follows:
u2022     Purchase orders must be created with reference to MRP generated Purchase Requisitions
u2022     Purchase orders must be created with reference to Purchase Requisitions which were created from converted MRP generated planned orders
u2022     Purchase orders must contain a reference to a contract item

How to get rid of historical data in MRP

Hi,
We have recently done Re Go-Live for a client. It involved changing the existing company code and re-assignment of new company code to existing plants. While doing so, transactional data that was created before Re Go-live still shows in the system.
Take example of MRP, when we run MRP reports, it shows all requirements that are still open because of committments generated earlier.
This is the case with every module infact, but we have restricted many reports by using variants, this way, only transactional data (PR, PO, SO etc etc) after certain date is displayed for the users.
We are facing the problem mainly with MRP since there is no "DATE" field to restrict the system from showing both previous & new requirements. Is there any customizing activity that can be performed to apply such restriction?

Transactional data for business cases that were never closed cannot be archived.
When reading the term Re-Go-Live then I assume that there are numerous open transactional data which cannot be closed because of the changes done already. you should have started in a new clean client.
You will certainly have headaches for many years with this mess.

MRP recommendation -- Do a Stock transfer instead of Purch or prodn Order..

With the MRP report recommendations you can either select to fulfill the recomendation by Purchase Order or Production Order. is it possible to add another option i.e Stock Transfer. I.E Customer has mutliple warehouses in different regions and they are supplied via a primary warehouse. eg run MRP for region x and use the MRP recommendations to trigger stock transfers from the primary Warehouse.

Thanks for the reply, currently I am heading down the path of
using the order recomendation table (ORCM) from there it should be possible to run an addon to present this table with the option of a stock transfer from a primary warehouse
so the user would
1: run the MRP as normal
2:then from the recomendation screen launch a new screen that gives you the option of selecting a warehouse and initiating stock transfers for items that are available
3:ones that are not available(or not enough in stock) would remain on the recomendation report to be actioned with a PO or ProdOrder.
the stock transfer would move the stock to some sort of virtual wharehouse while the logistics physically move the goods. then then to receive the goods the user would enter a similar screen bring up all the goods in the virtual w/h and maybe tick all the valid ones and do a stock transfer to the 'actual' w/house.
ps any comments on this 'theory' are appreciated

"Develop an MRP report that calculates the unrestricted stock, purchase order quantity, production order quantity, delivery quantity, planning order quantity on the basis of the selection made by the user on the given set of materials and the plant, MRP controller and ABC indicator and date. The report calculates the total available quantity of the materials and the sub materials as well as the required quantity and shortage or excess quantity."
Please suggest me the tables and fields to be used in preparing this report.

Impact of the MRP module on Financial data

Hi,
I wanted to play around with the MRP module that comes along with SBO - mainly to check out the features SBO offers and to find out the ease of use. I plan to test out on the TEST system and not PRODUCTION (LIVE). The question I have is, since I have financial data also in SBO, I do not want any type of impact on this financial data. So I want to hear if anyone has faced any type of issues in financial module while working with MRP module. Also is there anything that I should be aware about?
Please help me understand the MRP better.

After running MRP report it creates only recomendations which includes no. of production orders and no. of purchase orders as per need. Once you execute anyof the production order it will perform the accounting activity like how it gets done during normal production order.

MRP Table

I am developing a report in MRP. I am getting the header data of MRP in MDKP Table. No Line items is displayed in MDTB MRP line items table. System is showing no entries in this table. What could be the possible solution.

When MRP list is not stored in table MDTB, it is stored in compressed table MDTC. Whether the MRP list is to be saved in MDTB or MDTC is a config setting (plant-wise). Check IMG node Production -> MRP -> Check Performance Settings -> Check Storage Mode for MRP List. MDTC (compressed table) is default (recommended) and check-box available to switch it to MDTB (transparent table).
If it is in MDTC, you won't be able to use it as table joint in Query. You would need some ABAP programming to extract data from that compressed table. So do re-think about the need for your MRP report - and try to convince the users to use standard SAP transactions like MD06.
