MRP Rescheduling Error with quota arrangement

Hi i have a problem when using a Quota arrangement in MRP. When i use NME59N to order, the system proposes to bring the first vendor 100% for a month and then the next supplier for a minimal share the following month. the quota is available clearly in PR'S but when converted to PO'S the rescheduling takes the first po as a referrece instead the assigned PR'S.Can any one help me sorting out this?

When you run ME59N you will convert the requisitions inot POs (the same requisitions that you see in MD04). The vendor assignment is not modified by ME59N. This is already done by the Quota when the MRP runs.
In ME59N you can control if each requisition will be converted into a single PO, if multiple requisitions are going to be joined and converted into a single PO, etc.
I am still not sure if your problem is with ME59N or what you don't like is how the vendor is assigned (considering the Quota) when the MRP is executed? If you see in MD04, is the assignment correct? if the vendor assignment that you see in MD04 is not what you want.. then we should find a solution working with the Quota and with the MRP paramenters. Is your problem the vendor assignment that you see in MD04?

    Hi
Can you give more information. How you create the PR & PO manually or via MRP.
Quota arrangement works for automatic source determination and it has the highest priority.
Also Splitting quota is only possible with MRP.

  • KANBAN with Quota arrangement

    Dear Guru,
Ist possible to use Quota arrangement in KANBAN external Procurement (Scheduling Agreement)?
If so, please advice me how to do it... i am new to KANBAN.
    Regards,
    Senthil

    Hi Kumara,
As per my knowledge Quota Arrangement is not possible to use in KANBAN with Schedulling Agreement.
However pls find below the process steps for KANBAN WITH SCHEDULING AGREEMENT:
You can carry out KANBAN with Replenishment Strategy- External Procurement in following two ways :
    1.     External procurement from Vendor to Main Stores:
    Basic rules and Prerequisites:
u2022     MRP type should be u2018NDu2019 in MRP1 view of material master.
u2022     Availability check should be u201CKPu201D in MRP3 view of material master.
u2022     Material received from vendor is directly posted to unrestricted stock. Inspection at vendors place or vendoru2019s process control to ensure rejection free material. Inspection set up in Material master should be inactive.
u2022     Backflush is not required and Material is issued against a Pick List for Production Order.
    Process steps:
    1.     Create supply area for Main stores. TC: PK05
    2.     If required, extend the material to main storage location. TC: MMSC
    3.     Make the necessary changes in the material master as explained above.
    4.     Create scheduling agreement. Put kanban indicator (X) in the additional data of item.
    5.     Create Kanban control cycle. TC:PKMC
    6.     Print the barcode. TC:PK17
    7.     Set the kanban status to EMPTY by scanning the barcode. TC: PKBC. A Schedule line will be generated for the supply of material to main stores.
    8.     View the demand source view. TC: PK13n
    9.     When the material is received at Gate, perform goods receipt into blocked stock (movement type 103). TC: MIGO
    10.     Once the material reaches Main stores scan the barcode to FULL. TC: PKBC (At the background GR with 105 movement will happen).
    2.     External procurement from Vendor directly to shop:
    Basic rules and Prerequisites:
u2022     MRP type should be u2018NDu2019 in MRP1 view of material master.
u2022     Availability check should be u201CKPu201D in MRP3 view of material master.
u2022     Backflush indicator is must. It can be defined in the routing or in the material master itself. If Backflush indicator is set in the material master, then the material will be backflushed through out the plant (Material issue not required against production order). However if you want the material to be backflushed only when it is used for certain products, then Backflush indicator should be set in the routing ( in the component allocation against operations).
u2022     Confirmation should be done for each operation in the production order either individually (CO11n) or collectively (CO15). Confirmation posts goods issue of components (relevant to confirmed operation/s) to production order
u2022     Maintain KN01 storage location in the field - production storage location of MRP2 view in the material master. Back flushing will take place from this location. Field - Storage location for external procurement should be KN01 in the material master.
u2022     Material received from vendor is directly posted to unrestricted stock. Inspection at vendors place or vendoru2019s process control to ensure rejection free material. Inspection set up in Material master should be inactive.
    Process steps:
    1.     Create supply area for kanban stores (KN01). TC: PK05
    2.     Extend the material to Kanban storage location. TC: MMSC
    3.     Make the necessary changes in the material master as explained above.
    4.     Create scheduling agreement. Put kanban indicator (X) in the additional data of item.
    5.     Create Kanban control cycle. TC:PKMC
    6.     Print the barcode. TC:PK17
    7.     Set the kanban status to EMPTY by scanning the barcode. TC: PKBC. A Schedule line will be generated for the supply of material to kanban store.
    8.     View the demand source view. TC: PK13n
    9.     When the material is received at Gate, perform goods receipt into blocked stock (movement type 103). TC: MIGO
    10.     Once the material reaches shop, scan the barcode to FULL. TC: PKBC (At the background GR with 105 movement will happen).
    Hope this helps.

  • Contract With Quota Arrangement

    Hi
I am using Contract to procure a material from a Vendor.
Incase if have more than 1 vendor can I use the Quota arrangement ?
If the PR is created (By MRP) does it consider the Contract ?
What are the steps involved to work with Quota for Contract.
    Regards
    MM
    Edited by: SAP-MM1 on Sep 18, 2011 2:55 PM

    Dear,
Contract cannot be used as a source in Quota Arrangemnets.
Quota arrangements and Contract both are different which you already know and maintained in the system to service different purposes.
What about - Why can't maintain quota arrangements for all vendors who have contracts [when vendors are different] ?

  • Assign Source of Supply User Exit with Quota Arrangements in ME57 and ME56

    Hi there,
We are using Quota Arrangements to define Vendor rebate levels and we have enabled User Exit EXIT_SAPLMEQR_001 to provide a more informative popup to replace standard Source of Supply popup as need to display current allocation quantities and % allocation fulfiled.
This User Exit is invoked during Assign Source of Supply during PReq processing (More precisely during Assign Source of Supply in ME51n and Automatic Source of Supply in ME57 and ME56) which all works fine.
When used in ME51n and Source of Supply Assigned and PReq saved, the allocated quantity against the valid Quota Arrangement (EQUK-QUMNG) is successfully updated with the relevant amount
When using ME56 or ME57 to Automatically Assign source of Supply via the PReq list, the User Exit is invoked correctly and on selecting Vendor and saving the PReq is update correctly, however the allocated quantity against the valid Quota Arrangement (EQUK-QUMNG) is NOT updated with the relevant amount
I have searched SAP Notes and debuged with limited success but cannot find evidence as to why this difference is happening - I assume that it has something to do with User Exit but any advice gratefully received if anyone else has experienced this issue?

  • Std-Price calculation with Quote arrangement

    Hello Experts,
I set up a quote arrangement (MEQ1) for one Material. This quote arrangement including two production version 0001 and 0002 with proc.type E, as third line I added a vendor with proc. type F.
How can I calculate the std. price based on the proc. type F line, line should be slected by the system automatically and not based on the prod. versions (E).
    Thanks in advance
    Jörg

    Hi Ajay,
Thanks for your inputs.  In the std costing run system is showing components as below.
    Material cost       110$
    Material overheads  10$
    Labor cost  20$
    Labor Overheads 10$
In this Material cost 110$ , materials overheads also included(100$+10$). Why system is calculating Material overheads twice please suggest what mistake i did.
The material overhead percentage rate is 10%.
As per my client requirement system should calculate components as shown below
    Material cost 100$
    Material overheads 10$
    Labor cost  20$
    Labor overheads 10$
Please advise its very urgent, your inputs will be rewarded with points.

  • MRP Rescheduling messages with planning calendars

    Hi Experts,
I have successfully set up a planning calendar and applied in material master with a period lot size so that MRP creates purchase reqs with a delivery date on a specific day of the week.
My problem is with the rescheduling dates that appear in MD04 for firmed receipts.  These rescheduling dates align to the requirement date date and do not take into account the planning calendar.
Do you know if it is possible to configure the rescheduling to take the planning calendars into account?

    Hi Timonthy,
I just had a similar problem last week and the simple answer was to remove the re-order point.
Then it orders only on the day it should (unless you again go below safety stock) up to the forecasted amount.
The other option is to maintain a delivery schedule as well.
That way it will always schedule the delivery on the day you want even when it plans on a day you don't want.
While SAP is not very consistent on what they call the two schedules, the one that is required for MRP is the planning calendar (order cycle) and the optional one is the delivery calendar. Delivery dates are moved to match the delivery calendar regardless of lead time.
Not too sure whether that helps, but it solved my problem.

  • Subcontract MRP Area with quota usage - urgent

We have a subcontractor supplying assembly X which in turn require us to supply component Y to the subcontractor. We have two vendor for supplying component Y to subcontractor. Scheduling agreement with component vendors are set up for direct delivery to subcontractor. Both the scheduling agreements are included in the source list with MRP indicator 2. Quota arrangement is set up for the component.
We have set subcontractor MRP area and assigned the same to component Y material master. Special procurement key 20 is assigned in subcontractor MRP area. Quota usage and source list are duly enabled. Quota usage indicator is 3 which provides for MRP, PR, schedule line etc.,
When we run MRP ffor component Y for subcontract MRP area, system is generating schedule line for but without update quota file. Further, the scheduling agreement picked up is not of the correct vendor as per Quota logic.
Does SAP support quota usage with subcontract MRP area. If not, is there a work around.
    Shall appreciate urgent response

    Dear Ravi,
you will get a seperate location product for your material. MRP areas in apo are represented by a seperate location (type 1007 = storage location mrp area). You can transfer your ecc mrp areas via cif (CFM1). The master data you maintain in mrp section of the material master in R/3 will be trasfered to that location product. Furthermore you can maintain it manually in apo MAT1 (location = name of your mrp area). That technique provides you the possibility to maintain different parameters for the plant and the mrp area.
    Kind regards,
    Christian

  • Subcon Quota Arrangement behavior during MRP

    Dear Gurus,
Currently, we have a scenario wherein during subcon process there can be 3 Vendors active. During MRP, we would like to have an output as per below:
    Requirement: 1500
    Vendor A: capacity 500 - priority 1
    Vendor B: capacity 700 - priority 2
    Vencor C: capacity 500 - priority 3
If I run MRP, I would like system to have PR's Vendor A with 500 then as the Vendors capacity is only 500 the remaining requirement should be passed on the succeding vendors. So from my example, Vendor B should have 700 and Vendor C should have 300.
Is this possible using Quota Arrangement. I was trying to test but I cannot get my desired result.
Please note that the settings in the material master is already set to Quota usage 4 and the lotsize is weekly with splitting quota activated.
    Thanks,
    Raymond
Edited by: Raymond on Oct 10, 2011 11:17 AM

    Hi,
Yes I have maintained below in MEQ1 just for testing but I cannot get the desired result:
Quota Percentage        Maximum Lot size      Priority
    Vendor A:   100                                 500                           1
    Vendor B:    100                                 700                          2
    Vendor C:                                           500                          3
Set-up Weekly lotsize with splitting quota and quota usage 4.
But during MRP execution, I think the system splits the requirement quantity into 2 and distribute to Vendor A and Vendor B then if it reached maximum lotsize it proposed to vendor C.
our requirement is first to consider Vendor A then Vendor B then Vendor C according to maximum lot size and priority.
Any idea if this is possible?
    Thanks,
    Raymond

    Hi Om,
I hope that you have alreayd maintained the required master data for Quota Arrangement.
Also have you maintained configuration of Lot-Sizing Procedure ? You need to select "Splitting Quota" indicator in a particular Lot-Size Procedure, which you're going to assign in material master.
    Hope it will help.

  • How to maintain Quota arrangement with respect to production verson

    Hi,
I maintained Quota arrangement(without splitting) with respect to the two different production versions of a material and when i checked by running MRP. quota arrangement is not working. the system allocates the demand only to the active production version(which has the current validity period).
I guess i am missing something, can some one tell me how to maintain the quota arrangement with respect to production versions.
we have a requirement where a material is manufactured in house and will have 2 different production versions with 2 different validity periods in material master and they need the quota arrangement to work on this material in M.R.P for 2 different production versions.
I have maintained the quota arrangement usage= 3 in  material master.
    Thanks
    Mahendra

    Hi,
for the req qty to be distributed between two differnt production vesion, you might have to activate splitting in MEq1.
Give the min qty as 1, so that you req qty could be distributed between two differnt production version.
Pls conifm if it is through or if there is any other solution .

  • QUOTA ARRANGEMENT IN MRP

    Hi,
We have three vendors a,b and c with the quota arraangment 5,3 and 2 resp.In MRP lot size is fixed for 1000 qty, reorder point is 150 , Now stock availiblity is 50 in mrp PR is generated for 950 qty. How the system distributed the requirment to these vendors? What are the config steps to be taken in this scinorios. pl guide me in detail.
    will reward points accordingly,
    Regards

    Hi,
    Pl. follow following steps -
    1) Maintain quota of each vendor in transaction MEQ1 with a validity period. e.g. For first vendor 50%. For Second Vendor 30%. Third Vendor 20%. You can also maintain minimum quantity splitting, so that the quantity calculated by MRP which is below this will not be split. For example, if you require 10 PC of material & min. qty aplitting is 50, then the qty 10 will go to first vendor. If qty more than 50 is detected, then only it will be splitt among the vendors as per quota.
    2) For splitting the quantity as per quota, you have to select proper lot size (For example FS - Fixing & Splitting) & maintain tick at 'Split Quota' for the lot size in your system customization for the lot size. You can access the customization in following way -
SPRO --> Production --> Material Requirement Planning --> Planning --> Lot size Calculation --> Check Lot sizing procedure --> MRP Lot Size
Select your required lot size & select icon 'Details'. Then mark tick at 'Splitting Quota'. Save the changes. Then run the MRP. System will now split the quantity based on your quota arrangement.

  • Quota Arrangement in MRP Planning

    Dear All,
I am facing problem in foll Scenario:
I am trying to use Quota arrangement in MRP Planning.
    I have maintained foll values:
    Quota Usage in Material Master.
Quota for the material against 3 vendors in Percentages.
I have not maintained any Lot size procedures cause we are not using any batch management or Lot sizing in our company.
MRP Type is reorder type planning.
PIR is maintained for all the 3 vendors against the material being used.
    No source List is maintained.
But during MRP Run only 1 PR is getting generated against a single Vendor - which is appearing 1st in the Quota arrangement.
Kindly please suggest me why is this happening... and whether there is some note of configuration missing.
    Regards,
    Jyotsna Loomba

    Hi,
It is easier to use an example.
Lets say we have two vendors that we want equally used and they have been set up in a quota arrangement for a long time. The quota base qty will show how many have been ordered from each. So lets say that at the moment we have the two vendors both set up with a quota of 1 (to keep them equal) and the quota base qty is the same for each (lets say 10,000).
We now want to add a third vendor and they too should get an equal share of the orders. If we just add them the system will see that vendors A and B have each had orders for 10,000 and the new vendor has had 0 and so the system will give every order to the new vendor until they too have a total of 10,000.
By manually entering 10,000 to the quota base qty of the new vendor we are tricking the system into thinking that the new vendor has had the same number of orders as the existing vendors and so from now onwards they WILL all get an equal share.
I hope this helps with the clarification of the use of quota base qty?
As for the data you have just provided, the system would give the next few orders to Vendor V2.
the reason is that the other two vendors get a quota rate of 1 each and V2 has a quota rate of 8 and so V2 should get 8 times the qty of V1 and V3. The quota base qty of 80 against V2 and 20 against each of V1 and V3 means that V2 will get the next orders until their qty reaches 160 (at the proportion of 1, 8, 1).
So if V1 is getting all of the orders at the moment then there is something wrong with the set up of the quota arrangement. This could only really happen if you have set some maximumquantities or lot sizes etc. If you have not done this then I would check that V2 and V3 have valid info records etc.
