MRP Rescheduling messages with planning calendars

Hi Experts,
I have successfully set up a planning calendar and applied in material master with a period lot size so that MRP creates purchase reqs with a delivery date on a specific day of the week.
My problem is with the rescheduling dates that appear in MD04 for firmed receipts.  These rescheduling dates align to the requirement date date and do not take into account the planning calendar.
Do you know if it is possible to configure the rescheduling to take the planning calendars into account?

Hi Timonthy,
I just had a similar problem last week and the simple answer was to remove the re-order point.
Then it orders only on the day it should (unless you again go below safety stock) up to the forecasted amount.
The other option is to maintain a delivery schedule as well.
That way it will always schedule the delivery on the day you want even when it plans on a day you don't want.
While SAP is not very consistent on what they call the two schedules, the one that is required for MRP is the planning calendar (order cycle) and the optional one is the delivery calendar. Delivery dates are moved to match the delivery calendar regardless of lead time.
Not too sure whether that helps, but it solved my problem.

Charl

  • Link Planning time fence with planning calendar

    Hello,
In MD04 transaction, we can see the planning time fence lign. In my system, the planning time fence lign is calculated based on the plant calendar (SCAL transaction).
But, we will like to calculate the planning time fence based on the planning calendar (MD26 transaction) and not on the plant calendar.
I mean, when I close a period in the planning calendar (MD26), I want that the system establish the new planning time fence lign based on the planning calendar.
Does anyone know if it's possible? If yes, how should I do ?
    Best regards,
    Gwen

    Hello Gwen
The planning time fence is always calculated according to the factory calendar defined at plant level.
If you are using a periodic lot-sizing procedure with a time fence, system may generate replenishment proposals outside the planning calendar dates, especially if you are using a goods receipt processing time. If you want to make sure that the dates will be always according to the planning calendar, you may check the following modification note:
    397870
MOD:Procurmt propsls on non-dely date due to plng time fence
If you want to create your own logic to calculate the time fence, you may use the BAdI MD_MRP_PARAMETERS.

  • MRP Rescheduling Error with quota arrangement

Hi i have a problem when using a Quota arrangement in MRP. When i use NME59N to order, the system proposes to bring the first vendor 100% for a month and then the next supplier for a minimal share the following month. the quota is available clearly in PR'S but when converted to PO'S the rescheduling takes the first po as a referrece instead the assigned PR'S.Can any one help me sorting out this?

When you run ME59N you will convert the requisitions inot POs (the same requisitions that you see in MD04). The vendor assignment is not modified by ME59N. This is already done by the Quota when the MRP runs.
In ME59N you can control if each requisition will be converted into a single PO, if multiple requisitions are going to be joined and converted into a single PO, etc.
I am still not sure if your problem is with ME59N or what you don't like is how the vendor is assigned (considering the Quota) when the MRP is executed? If you see in MD04, is the assignment correct? if the vendor assignment that you see in MD04 is not what you want.. then we should find a solution working with the Quota and with the MRP paramenters. Is your problem the vendor assignment that you see in MD04?

    Hello Steve
The simple and quick fix is right-clicking on that little Safe icon in the system tray (near the system clock) and choose Stop Backup/Synchronization. Do you see that icon?
Turn it on and off as needed. Did this work for you?

  • Issue in assigning new Planning Calendar for MRP.

    Hello Experts
I have trouble in setting up new Planning calendar for S&OP and MRP process. Let me explain in details
Requirement is, currently I am using standard country specific Factory calendar format (monthly period) per plant. But new requirement has came up and Company wants to change beginning and end of period (monthly) -- as shown below
    Current Calendar
    1 July to 31 July = period 1 - 2014
    1 Aug to 31 Aug = Period 2 - 2014
    and so on..
New requirement is ( Last week of Friday is end of Period)
    Sat 28 June to Fri 25 July = Period 1 - 2014
    Sat 26 July to Fri 29 Aug = Period 2 - 2014
    Sat 30  Aug to Fri 3 Oct = Period 3 - 2014
    and so on..
    (basic concept is to keep
    4wk, 5wk, 5wk for Quarter 1
    4wk, 4wk, 5wk for Quarter 2. and so on.. )
I have setup new planning calendar in MD25..
ie. min period, start of period not a working day, Calculation rule & Period etc...
then assigned new planning calendar in MM02 - MRP2 and also in MRP1 used Lot size PK... etc..
But when i Put demand in MC88.. which gives us std month format and transfer to DM, then Ran MRP but some how MRP is not creating correct Qty in planned demand as per new calender..
    i.e..  1 July to 31 July = period 1 - 2014  if total demand Qty for Material XYZ is : 50
I am expecting planned demand result in MRP as...   Sat 28 June to Fri 25 July = Period 1 - 2014  - should be 50 in total.. but It's not..
Any reason? Or I am missing some settings?
    Thank you in advance..
    PC...

    Thanks KK/Umesh
Business wants planning calendar in this format. And Fiscal Year Variant has also been set according to new calendar.
KK, Regarding MC88 there is no option to incorporate planning calendar into S&OP process. And Organisation's S&OP process is set from day one (Planning by ProdGrp/Material) so MD61 would not be a good option to use.
Umesh, regarding "start of period not a working day", I have selected "do not displace". And 27/09 and 27/12 dates are set holiday. The major issue here is: Not every 4th Sat of month is Period start day, MRP is picking new planning calendar (defined in above table) from the system But some how when transferring forecast data from planning table to demand management (MC88), system don't recognize new planning calendar and it distributes demand over weekly bucket per regular month Calendar instead of new planning calendar..
Some how I need to incorporate new planning calendar into S&OP setup somewhere, Any thoughts?
    Thanks.

  • MRP Exception messages difference

    Hi PP Gurus
I need to understand the exact difference between few exception messages
MRP Exception message 6 - Start date of supply proposal is in past
MRP Exception message 7 - Finish date of supply proposal is in past
Query : Does it means that if start date is in past & finish date is in future , then only EM6 will appear .If both are in past , then EM7 will appear ???
MRP Exception message 10 - This is meant for Rescheduling IN i.e. if the supply proposal finish date is later than reqt date
MRP Exception message 15 - This is meant for Rescheduling OUT in i.e. if the supply proposal finish date is eariler than reqt date
MRP Exception message 30 - Plan process according to schedule i.e. pull or push the supply proposal as per reqd date
    It looks to me that
EM30 is same as EM10 & EM15 since the former also suggests to pull or push as the latter two does .Then what is the exact  difference between these
    rgds
    sandeep

1- I'm not sure, but could be.
2- Difference between 10, 15 and 30 is that 10 and 15 are for firmed elements (like production order or purchase order); 30 is for planned order (or other NOT FIRMED element) that cannot be properly planned because of LT problems.

  • Apply a planning calendar to a subcontract vendor

We want to apply a planning calendar to a sub-contract vendor so that Chinese New year is bloked out for them and our system doesn't plan deliveries from them that cannot happen. Does anyone know how to do this?

    Hi,
    You can try following steps.
Create one Planning calendar in MD25 specifying each period as yearly periods.
Maintain Lot size as PK(MRP 1 view) and Planning calendar(MRP 2 view) in material master for the components subcontracing.
After MRP system will group all the requirements in each period and creates PR according to the planning calender.

  • Planned order with Lot size and Planning Calendar in MRP

    Hi All
I request your help in understanding MRP results in below mentioned scenario:
    Material: A
    Planning Calendar: D1 (Monday only)

Lot size: Z1 (this is copy of PK with Period Start = Start Date)
    Safety Days Time: 3

    NETCH
Planning mode: 3 (Delete and recreate planning)
    scheduling: 2 (lead time scheduling)

    "Friday      29.4.11" --- "-100"  ---- "0" ------ "0" -------- "0" -------- "0"
I am executing MRP on 7.04.11
As shown above the, can you please explain why the planned order is on Wed 12th and it covers 5 days requirement and similarly Tuesday 19th and covers 6 days.
I am not able to relate the relation between Planning calendar and Lot size procedure used. Also what would happen if I make planning calendar valid for two days in a week.
    Thanks in advance
    Rahul

    Thanks dear
Yes you are right the Planning Calendar starts 18.4.11 and ends 24.4.11
Now as far as first planned order is concerned I thought it should be scheduled to start&end  on Monday 11.04.11, rather it starts&ends on Tuesday 12.4.11. Also the actual coverage days goes up to 5 days even though its maintained for 3 days.
Similarly the second planned order also comes up on Tuesday 19.04.11 and covers 6 days (more than the setting and planning Calendar of only Monday)
On the whole this is confusing me on Lot size and Planning Calendar relation and how it impacts MRP. Can you please help me on this.
Also if you can throw some details on: how to restrict MRP to give planned order only on, say, Monday and Thursday, as only then it could be produced.
    Thanks in advance

  • Working with MRP Exception Message

    Hi Team,
In MD04, i am getting exception messages like below.
    20 - Cancel the Process
    15 - Postpone the process
    10 - Bring Process Forward
I have already read the SDN postings and also the below link.
What is rescheduling and how does it work - ERP Manufacturing (PP) - SCN Wiki
But question is, Instead of MRP raises this exception message like "10 - Bring Process forward". This exception message proposes new start date for the planned order.
Q1: Instead of raises this as exception message, during MRP run, the planned order start date can be directly modified by the system know?
Q2: On daily basis, How to act on this MD04 exception messages? How the MRP Controller should act on this exception messages? Should the planner need to modify the planned order dates manually as proposed by the exception message?
Q3: Do w have any mass transaction to act on this exception message?
    Thanks

But question is, Instead of MRP raises this exception message like "10 - Bring Process forward". This exception message proposes new start date for the planned order.
Exception message '10' is raised to 'firmed' receipts - not planned receipts. MRP cannot change the firmed receipts (exception - roll-forward periods), hence adjustment in case of this message is out of the question. Rest assured, the planning run does adjust the receipt as much as possible.
Q1: Instead of raises this as exception message, during MRP run, the planned order start date can be directly modified by the system know?
Have you seen exception message '10' to a planned order which is not fixed/firmed? System adjusts when possible.
Q2: On daily basis, How to act on this MD04 exception messages? How the MRP Controller should act on this exception messages? Should the planner need to modify the planned order dates manually as proposed by the exception message?
This may involve many manual decision from the planners and should not be automated. You can help out a planner through reports, but the decision should not be taken automatically.
If you find it interesting you can go through responses from Dogboy 49 and myself in the threads shared below:
    Handling of MRP Exception Message
    md04 exception
Q3: Do w have any mass transaction to act on this exception message?
No, you may think of developing something using BAPI_MATERIAL_STOCK_REQ_LIST or  MD_STOCK_REQUIREMENTS_LIST_API function modules and providing hyperlinks to the users so that they can directly be inside the corresponding change transaction according to the MRP element.
However, 10, 20 and 15 all of these three exception messages come due to rescheduling for the firmed receipt elements. In MD07 you can get a collective overview of number of these messages in the exception group 07 (standard).
    Best Regards.

  • Lot size key HB with a planning calendar

I would like to be able to continue to use lot size key HB (replenish to maximum stock level), but with a planning calendar in order to specify Friday deliveries.  However, the system does not appear to be capable of doing this.  Does anyone know a way around the system limitation?
    Thanks in advance!

I appreciate the suggestions.  I would very much like to use a "Friday" planning calendar, however, if I changed the lot size key to PK - I can no longer replenish to a maximum stock level (unless someone knows of a way to get MRP behavior like lot size key HB but with something like PK).
I also tried using the "Planning cycle" field on the MRP 1 screen, but it appears to require time-phased planning - which again seems to rule out use of Lot size key HB.
    Any other ideas?
    Thanks again,
    Ed

My iCal has frozen after I tried to paste info from an email into a reminder.  I get a "server reports an error" message with what I tried to paste in the box.  Calendar is frozen and will only close by forcing it.  Any help?

Did another window open with the pasted information?  If so, try hitting "enter/return" key and "delete" key at the same time.  That should get rid of the current action on the ical, the extra window should go bye-bye, and all should be fine with the world.

I recently started to get an error message "MobileMe Services have stopped working".  I use Vista.  If I remove the MobileMe program, will it affect syncing with my iPhone or with Google Calendar?

No, just uninstall the MobileMe control panel. All Mobileme services have been discontinued, so the control panel is not doing you any good being in there at present.

  • MRP exception message 64 and planning strategy group 52

    Hi Gurus,
I have done extensive search online in the forum to find the route cause why we are getting MRP exception message 64 for a specific material in one of our plants. This exception message does not occur for the same materials which is also produced in another plant.
I was just wondering whether the planning strategy group of 52 in MRP 3 view would have any effect on the frequent occurrence of exception message 64. I know that the 64 message occurs when the routing time is higher than the in house production time. If that's the case where to look for in routing to correct this, apart from this do we need to look at work centers and other details. I'm not a  PP person but still was curious to know see if i could take a shot at it.
Also the MRP settings that we follow in the plant where this problem does not occur is NETCH, Create PR - 2, Schedule lines - 3, create MRP list - 1, Planning mode - 3, scheduling -2
in the plant where the 64 message occurs quite often is Netch, Create PR -2, Schedule lines - 3, create MRP list - 1, planning mode - 1, Schdeduliing - 1
I was  thinking do MRP settings and planning strategy group would have any impact on why we are getting the 64 wexception message
Because of this 63 exception message, the downstream components are getting wrong signals.
    Thanks
    Ravi

    Hello Ravi
Generallt, exception message "64 - Production finish after order finish" is triggered when the order start date is in the past and system automatically changes to forward scheduling to calculate the finish date.
Note 1913017 explains how the order basic date is calculated and adjusted in case of forward scheduling, however, you are using strategy 52 and this is a very special scenario, whever VP planned orders are generated.
The VP planned orders will always be adjusted to the requirements date even if the requirements date is in the past. This is a special feature in the planning segment, since these orders are only kind of 'virtual' planned orders. These orders only have to provide the demand requirements for the components in time.
Therefore, there is a relationship between strategy 52 (VP planned order) and the exception message observed.

  • ICal - google calendar no SMS or Message with sound

    Hello,
few weeks ago I found that I could not add "Message with sound" alert to my iCal's Google calendar which brings me to no SMS alerts.
Is it anything wrong with my iCal, Google calendars (I can add Message with sound to iCloud calendars) or it is something Apple/Google recently changed?
If I add Message with sound alert using iCal - it automatically disappears. However, if I add SMS alert on Google side I have SMS alerts even if it does not reflect anyhow on the corresponding iCal entry.

There is a big discussion on this topic on the google calendar forum: http://www.google.com/support/forum/p/Calendar/thread?tid=7f08411ae09ca8da&hl=en
    As I wrote there:
I'm suffering the same, but I have some more information about it.  I have multiple delegates, so I have had the "good fortune" to be able to have some of them go bad and still have others to experiment with.
The ones that have gone bad are those where I made a change in iCal and then tried to refresh.
When I made changes on my google calendars I was still able to refresh in iCal and have the change show up.  But as soon as I made a change in iCal, the refresh gave that error message.
Also, I just downloaded the newest OS (OS 5) for my iPod touch (gen. 3).  That was yesterday afternoon.. and yesterday evening is when I first noticed this problem.  I can't imagine it's simply coincidence.
I just discovered one more thing.  Even the calendars that don't work both ways continue to work one way; changes made on Google Calendar continue to show up in iCal, even though the error message shows up that it can't contact the server or has the wrong address.  It's almost like the relationship has turned into "subscriptions" rather than "delegates".
I have restarted my iMac and repaired permissions with no success.
    iMac running 10.6.8
    Accessing Google Calendar with Safari.

    Hi
Yes you should be able too, this depends on the features on the phone but i would imagine something as new as the s5 would have this feature. However this would obviously be over standard sms rather than imessage.
    Hope this helps
