MRP run is generating for HALB & ROH excess inventory though wip is availab

Dear Gurus,
SUB:Scheduling & Procurement of semi finished/ raw materials,ie for the Raw materials & semi finished materials the Scheduling agreements are generted by MRP Run much before the time it is actually required ,as in reality some of the material is available in Work in Progress & actually no shortage is there, therby resulting in excess inventory of ROH & HALB
sap suggests to reschedule the raw material purchase orders to cover the requirements according to MRP-run
- opposite to that: manual checking in SAP shows that the current WIP-level (running production orders on part-no. level) is covering a longer period of time than shown by MRP-run for raw material
The Fert was MRP Type P3 with Lot Size FX
Both the HALB & ROH was MRP Type P3 with Lot Size FX
Later i changed the FERT to i have kept the MRP Type P3 itself ,probably i can test it with MRP Type PD;Pl suggest.
However i have changed the HALB & ROH to Lot size HB;i have not changed the MPR Type from P3 to PD:Pl sugget if i need to change it.Also i have defined the max stock level say for ex 5000 pcs .So please suggest how to reduce this excess invenory of ROH & HALB
I wish to express my gratitude for all the support received.
Kindly forward me these information on my mail id ASAP as it is hard to send so much information by reply on mail
I am always available on these below e mails for chatting from 1.00am till 11.00pm India time if you would like to communicate more to me
Thanking you

  • Mrp run to do  for different numbers in a sale order

    Dear Sir,
we are doing make to order planning strategy 20  and receiving sale order on august 2008 of 7 nos and delivery date  is of 21 july 2009.
my  client needs to do mrp run  as per the client planned date  , but in md04 the sale order is showing of 7nos .
the client planning date are as follows  to do mrprun :
    31st May 2009 - 2 nos
    30th june 2009 - 2 nos
    21st july 2009 - 3 nos
so I kindly request you to help me how we can do the mrprun as per the client planning date and also what is the flow  path to be done.
In making a finished product we are giving packing as outsourcing ( i.e. labour coming from outside getting wood and othermaterial for packing )  for this how can i show in the routing of packing.
    regards,
    muralidhar.t

    Muralidhar,
Let me understand, on what basis the client decides to run MRP for Schedule Line 3 & 4? Is is based on the deliveries for the next 2months and the other schedule line are behyond 2months from now?
Though your scenario is not clear, with my little understanding I can suggest couple of options,
    1. You can define Planning Horizon for the Plant say for example "60" - Days, and then your MRP run can be with "NETPL"- Processing key in MD01. What this means is that deliveries or requirements which are falling within this 60days will only be planned.
Planning horizon should be configured in the MRP - Parameter Master data section in SPRO.
    2. For all the schedule lines you can change the Schedule Line category to "CN" instead of "CP". CN related schedule lines are not considered in MRP for planning.

  • Mrp PR wrongly generated.

    Hi gurus,
    Plz go through this issue.
    Reorder point : 20
    safety stock:    10
    fixed lot size:    60
MRP type:       VB manual reorder point without ext reqmt.
on 27th Feb stock was 18 and so after MRp run PR generated for qty. 60
And the PR was convertd to PO on 4th March and the reqmt date was 20.4.2008
But on 5th March Mrp was run and PR was generated
My issue is when a PO is open and if the open po qty is considered there is no need to generate one more PR
The reqmt is no pr should generate duly considering the open PO qty
What might be the root for this issue?
    And how to rectify it?
    Regards,

    Hi Thanx for ur reply.
I checked as guided by you
    But there are no dependencies
Low level code is  not existing
And there are no confirm control keys
Is there any possibility of ignotring the open POs
Further it seems to be a bug, If it is a bug how to locate it?
Even refered to Sap, no updates.
Please throw some light on this issue
    Thanks & Regards,

  • Schedule Lines are not getting generated after MRP run.

    Hi,
I have an issue where a SA exists for the parent material with item category L (subcontracting). The parent material has a valid BOM and some sub components as well. I see in CS03 that BOM is fine with validity dates for the parent material. A valid source list also exists for the parent material where SA is present as the source of supply with MRP indicator as 2. Now when i run MRP for the parent material using MD02 (NETCH), with indicators as below:
    Create pur.req.  2
    Schedule lines   3
    Create MRP list  1
    Planning mode   1
i don't see any schedule lines in MD04. Instead it creates a PR that too without any source of supply.
In master data for the parent material MRP type is PD with Procurement type F and special procurement key 30. I have checked and every thing seems to be fine still MRP run doesn't create schedule lines.
Any help is appreciated. I can give more info if required.
    Thanks.

    Dear Rakesh,
Scheduling agreement:An outline agreement against which materials are procured at a series of
predefined points in time over a certain period.
1.For this you have to first use ME31L for creating scheduling agreement and then ME38 for maintaining scheduling agreemnet
    schedule.
2.Ensure in the source list after maintaining the material, vendor combination the setting for MRP relevancy is set to 2 - Record
relevant to MRP,Schedule line generated automatically.
Moreover you have to use value 3 for delivery schedule line which is one of the MRP control parameter while taking MRP run.
So for the materials for which scheduling agreement exists, schedule lines will be generated.
    Check and revert back.

  • After firming planned order, new planned order is generating in MRP run

    Hi Experts,
I am using SAP AFS. Planning strategy is 21- MTO with Project settlement. MRP type is PD. Lte size is EX. Procurement type is X.
We are using the production versions. Individual / collective reqmts is 1. Planning time fence is not maintained.
In sap AFS T.Code for MRP run is /n/afs/md02. After receiving the Sales order, MD04 screen gets updated accordingly and I am running the MRP.Planned orders are generated accordingly. I am firming the planned order manually through MD04. The satr mark is also appearing.
My problem starts now. If I am running  the MRP again for the same requirements another planned order of the same qty. is getting generated. That means after the second MRP run, I am having two planned orders (one firmed plnd order) and second is the new planned order. My requirement is that MRP should not generate any new Plnd. order / PR's if there is no new Sales order.
The parameters for MRP run are "1" for "Create PR's", '1" for "Plng Mode" and '"1" for "scheduling ".
I have tried in all the possible ways, but of no use. Still new plnd order is generated after firming the 1st plnd. order in MRP run.

    Thanks all for your feedback..
    @ Vishal
    1. Yes, Both Old firmed planned order and newly generated planned order have the same grid value
    2. For both the planned orders :
Special Stock is E u2013 Orders on hand,
    Consumption is V,
Sales order is the same (As we are using MTO , Strategy 21) and same WBS element.
    3. First planned order is not in the assigned tab of MD04. This means that has been allocated to some object. u2013 I didu2019nt got this point. Can u please elaborate?
    @ Nikhil
    1. Quantity of sales order is not reducing after firming the sales order
    2. Account assignment category for both the planned orders is u201CZu201D - Indiv.cust./project
I have made some more observations and found the following differences between the two planned orders
From  MD04 , keep the cursor on corresponding planned order
& click on upward arrow ( available on bottom side of the report).
It will show what will be the originating requirements i e. for which requirements this planned order generated.
For Firmed planned order it is taking me to screen u201CPegged Requirements

  • Labels Batch No allocation in Purchase requistion while MRP Run

    Dear Experts,
While running the MRP PR are generated for labels as per BOM to purchase department, but in our case labels are purchased by purchase department, So can i give the batch number to purchase department through PR, so that they can print the labels as per the batch number mentioned in PR.
    Regards,
    Phalgun Patel

    Dear Phalgun,
    Thanks for your appreciations.
In PR you can maintain texts at Header level or at Item level. Go to transaction ME52N - Change PR & Enter your required PR no.
Now if you want to maintain some common texts for your complete PR then enter Header Texts. For that you can click on the Expand Header tab below the bucket trolley or press Ctrl+F2. Texts tab will be opened. Now you can enter the texts in the field of Header texts.
If you want to enter the texts specific to any Items, then you have to enter texts at Item level. For that you have to select that item and click on the Collapse Item Details or press Ctrl+F7. There also you can select the individual items from drop down which are present in the PR. Select Texts tab and there you can enter the required texts, in your case you can enter the required Batch No. for those items. Here you have different options like item texts, Item Note, Delivery texts etc. etc. You have to double click on those options where you want to enter the texts.
Further for your information, to copy those texts in to PO, you need to do the customizing with the help of your MM Consultant. Also you can print those texts on your output.
Hope now this will be clear to you.

  • PR generated for materials although there is no demand.

    Hi,
I have a situation where the system's MRP run is generating PRs for few materials although we have open PO with quantity equal to the requirement for that particular material.
What can be the reason behind such system behavior.

if you PO date is 01.01.2015 and your rescheduling horizon is 50 days your PO is outside the horizon ;-) and system will create a new PR

  • Not to reschedule in the MRP run.

    Hello!
    I have product   P000GR00000000  consisting a
    component say B000GR00000000 .
If i create production order of P000GR00000000 for DATED 30.09.2007 of 100 EA.then order will reserved -100EA for B000GR00000000 & when i take MRP run it will generare plan order of 100 EA for B000GR00000000.Similarly if i create production order for P000GR00000000  for dated 30.10.2007 of 200EA.Then MRP run will generate 200EA plan order for B000GR00000000.
Now, i create production order for P000GR00000000 of 300 EA for dated 30.11.2007 & meanwhile the production order of P000GR00000000  DATED 30.09.2007 is technically completed then order reserved for B000GR00000000 of -100EA will be cancelled. If i take MRP run now ,then order reserved of -300 EA for B000GR00000000 will rescheduled, that i want to restrict.
Is there any solution Not to reschedule in the MRP run if order is TECO.
    please give the solution.
    regards,
    mangesh

    Hi Mangesh
You can define Rescheduling at plant level or MRP group level using OPPQ/ OPPR or OMDW. if you define at plant level then no need to create in MRP group and assign to material
secodly if you want to avaoid the Reschedule Exceptions then
You can  define tolerance values in additon to Resheduling horizon. for the creation of exception messages, in Customizing. These values define a time period in which no exception message is to be created, despite the fact that a rescheduling proposal may exist.
If you don't want reschedule check for production orders then you can remove the flag against production orders in the firmed elements.
if you TECO the order Normally MRP should not consider while planning!
please check onesecond and come back
But Teco will allow  you for posting (GR/GI)
    hope this helps

  • Scheduling agreement MRP run

    Hi All,
We use Scheduling agreements for purchasing spare parts. The nightly MRP run checks the warehouse requirements and creates delivery schedule line to scheduling agreement.
Now the MRP run creates unnecessary delivery schedule lines to scheduling agreement if the earlier created delivery schedule line's delivery date has been changed manually.
Today the MRP run finds requirement for article XYZ and creates the delivery schedule line, where delivery date is 2.9.2008 (determined from articles basic data).
The Vendor confirms the delivery date as 3.10.2008 and the purchaser changes manually  (transaction ME38) the delivery date to delivery schedule line accordingly and prints the created message.
The next MRP run creates new delivery schedule line, where delivery date is again 2.9.2008.
After that there are two open delivery schedule lines for article XYZ with delivery dates 3.10.2008 and 2.9.2008.
Why the MRP run does not notice the existing delivery schedule line with the new delivery date 3.10.2008?

  • Purchase req type after MRP Run

Ca we control the type of Purchase req after MRP Run.
Now for every material it is creating "NB" type purchase req.
Can we control it material type or by mat number.
We have 2-3 purchase req types in system for Material.
    Amit Shah

    Dear ,
Goto -OPPR-Enter Plant Code and Maintain MRP Group -0000( as SAP Standrad for External Procurement ) -Select Scheduling /Doc Type tab -Here you can assing the PR type as per your requirement so the while MRP run , it will selct the PR documents types based on OPPR .At the same time , assing this MRP group in MRP1 view of the material .
    Try and come back

  • Sales order while MRP run

    Hello friends;
My requirement is such that when i run mrp in MD02, system should not consider those sales order that are planned in previous MRP run. System should consider new sales orders that are created after MRP run.
    Waiting for reply.
    Thanks.

    Hi,
One solution is go for individual Sales Order/Line Item MRP run using T.code MD50.
But I can't understand problem with use of MD02.If Receipt element(Plan order)is there which contains the Account Assignment of that Sales Order line Item then I don't think system will replan for same Sales Order Line item.

  • Alternative BOM problem in MRP run

    Hello Experts,
We have two BOM for one material. Now I want to use BOM-1 for MRP run & BOM-2 for subcontracting.I have maintined following settings.
    1) Production version.
    2) BOM explosion selection method in MRP4 -2
    3) Assign PV in inforecord for subcontracting.
    4) Assign PV in MD61 in schedule line .
But when I run MRP it still consider subcontracting BOM.Have I missed any setting?
    Kindly guide.Thanks you.

    Hi, Follow the below process,
1.Enter the BOM selection method as 2 in the MRP4 view of the material master.
2.In case if you have not assigned the production version in MD61 against the PIR's under schedule line
tab key (in the top menu click on settings and prod version ,then you can assign the prod version which
you need to pick during the MRP run),the system always picksup the first production version during
MRP run even if all the prod versions contains the same validity dates and lot sizes.
3.If you are not willing to assign the prod version in MD61 ,but the system should consider the second
prod version for MRP run means, then set the locked status for the first prod.version.
4.When run MRP via MD02 or MD50 in the simulation mode.(i.e w/o giving tick in simulation mode).
Click on Save,You will get a pop screen,
Now click on the continue icon, Then go to Plaining Results: Individual lines screen.where you will get Plan order on which when double click you will get pop screen below, where you have Planned order no,quantity, plant, storage location, and version.
Now here you can select the required version, and it will become firmed. This BOM will be used in the order now. Try it.

  • FG SFG MRP Run

    Hi Experts,
PPPI: If MRP Run is executed for FG (Single Item Multilevel), it produces Planned Orders for FG and SFG.  My problem is, the scheduling for FG and SFG.  Ideally, we need to produce SFG first, before the production of FG can start.  But the MRP run produced planned orders for FG and SFG that start on the same date and time.  any clarifications/suggestions for the set up?
    Thanks

    Hi,
In OPU5 - Define scheduling parameters for planned orders, select your plant, Order type * scheduler (*).
In this select Adjust scheduling  - Adjust basic dates & dep requirement to operation dates.
Now rerun MRP with Delete & recreate planning mode.
Check the result in the 3rd tab page of planned order change mode.
Note: For FG & SFG maintain machining time as high. Scheduling should not complete within a day. Maintain requirement qty also as high.
    Regards,
    Dharma

  • Report Comparing Previous MRP Runs

    Dear Experts,
Is there a SAP report that compares past MRP runs/results?
For analysis and reporting purposes, we need to compare past MRP runs to identify factors which affect a certain material availability issue (e.g. out-of-stock, increased or decerased inventory holding, etc.).
For a more specific example, let's say I would like to know why a certain material had its inventory level significantly lower compared to the safety stocks at a specific time in the past. Is it because of a higher actual demand compared to the forecast used during the planning run? Or was there an abnormal increase in consumption during the production?
We also need to do the same when we have internal and external auditors auditing the process and systems we have in place.
Hope to get your inputs on this.

    Dear,
In my understanding you can use T code- MDLD or convert the MRP run results into a PDF file and you can compare.
However i dont think there is some standard report to compare the same.
    Also check this link,
