MRS 7.0 - MultiResource Scheduling

Hello,
I am trying to set up MRS 7.0 and have gone through and done the configuration guide step by step. I am trying to set it up for PM/CS scenarios, with forward integration (no feedback from MRS to PM/CS orders), no splits, no qualifications in either HR or MRS, no authorization checks, no workflow and no optimizer. I want to get MRS to work for this simple scenario and then scale up the complexity step by step. I am using HR resources and am trying to do all the transactions within the SAP GUI. I am not using
I am not able to get some of the transactions working. The following come with the message that the transaction do not exist
/MRSS/HCM_RPTWFMIF
/MRSS/SGE_PN_MNT
These transactions short dump (Error analysis is the same for both the T codes)
/MRSS/PLBOMGR
/MRSS/PLBOORG
Error Analysis:
Order worklist fields are inconsistent; error: "OBJECT-" expected, not "
CRMT_OBJECT_"
Technical information about the message:
Message class....... "/MRSS/SGU"
Number.............. 899

Standard SAP worklist has not been modified.
Resource Planning node and evaluation path has been maintained as suggested in the config guide.
HR work center and Logistics work center (via T code PO01) has been maintained.
Would appreciate if you could help me out get past the hurdles I am facing.

Hello MRS experts,
I need your help in doing the following config steps. We are on MRS 7.0 and ECC 6.0 (both are on the same systems) and using PM/CS scenario. The current config is for forward integration without qualifications.
Point 1
Under 'Define Resource planning nodes and evaluation path', and under section 'Objects for Resource planning node' and for the field 'Evaluation path for resource planner, I cannot see the option 'OMDISPO'.
How did you get this evaluation path defined ?
Would appreciate if you could please describe the details.
Point 2
I have linked the logistics work center to a HR work center via transaction code PO01 but in the PPOME screen, I cannot see my Logistics work center and HR work center underneath the Org unit.
How has this been achieved ? Is this a prerequisite to see demands show up on the planning board ?
Would appreciate if you could please describe the details.
Point 3
When I execute the planning board transcation /MRSS/PLBOORG, I do not see any demands show up.
When I execute /MRSS/PLBOSRV transaction for the service orders, I get the message XXXXXX is not a valid demand (XXXXXX is my service order number)
I would appreciate if you could please help me out resolve the above issues.

Dear all,
I am looking for additional information regarding SAP Multiresource Scheduling.
The main is to control the detailed planning and capacity of a group of 150 resources, splitted in different sub teams, attached to different roles, with different skills and working potentially on 1 to n projects. We would like to control the detailed capacity and planning at the resources level. Currently all our projects are stored in the NPDI system.
I would like to know :
-if it is possible?
-if it is manageable with a solution not "too heavy" and complex to manage
-if somebody has a similar experience

With respect to the question I can tell you that the dump is generated because in configuration was not adding mrss positions on the screen Planner inside SPRO options:
Set up scheduler workplace -> Workplace Profile -> Define User Interface Profiles
Within this option exists Maintain Container positions in the layout

Multiresource Scheduling within Unconstrained Plan

Hello,
We are 12.0.6 hybrid manufacturing (Discrete and OSFM) using Unconstrained Plan.
When scheduling planned order for Make items the system calculates the Order Date according to the following formula:
Due Date-Fixed Lead Time-(Variable Lead Time*Planned Order Qty)-PreProcessing Lead Time.
Assuming Planned Order:
- for 10 units
- lead time 30 days (5 fixed+25 variable)
- order date calculation = 5+25*10
This is under an assumption that there is one resource performing that job.
We have multiple resource!
According to ASCP Documentation, chapter 6-105, "Multiresource Scheduling" the system has to schedule the planned orders simultaneously. This feature is contolled by 'Round Order Quantities" attribute at item level.
In our tests, I'm using item with this attribute as Checked.
Unfortunately, the system still schedule the planned orders in sequence, one by one. By that, Planned Order Date is moved beyond the items lead time.
What is the way to set the multiple resource working within Unconstrained Plan.
Taking into account multiple resource should shorten Order Date calculation.
I will appreciate any help.

Have you defined the resources , attached routing to the item etc?. Not sure without that definition how will system know that you have x number of multiple resources..

Multiresource Scheduling message number /MRSS/SGE032

Hi guys,
I'm trying to integrate the MRS add-on to the PM / CS. If I try to call the Planning Board for the resource planner I get a message that my user is not assigned as a planning node. Even if I try in HCM to establish a new organizational unit, it still doesn't work. I have attached the exact message as jpg.

MRS: Multi Resource Sched: Scheduling at Order Level possible

Hi,
is it possible in MRSS 610 to create assignments by drag and dropping the order (not the operations seperately) to the planning board? Is there any customizing? For example the order is drag and droped to a resource and all the operations are assigned to this resource.

Hi Mark,
Well I assumed that you have confirmations integration active !! But I guess not because you say that the status is not integrated always.
What you need to do:
1) I assume you have SP05 or later.
2) Implement the user exit: CONFPM05. In the implementation of this exit you need to call FM: /MRSS/RSG_PM_ORDER_CONFIRM
3) Go to customizing: Basic Settings --> Assign ERP Objects --> Status
-- Here, define an abstract status (MRS Status) for confirmed and partially confirmed
-- map it to R3 status CNF and PCNF.
After this, whenever you enter confirmation for PM order from transaction IW41, the status will be integrated.
Now you can use the MRS statuses defined in step 3 to configure the colors.
Implementing the user exit CONFPM05 might require some technical input. But it is easy. Just a few double clicks and copy paste.
Contact an ABAP developer for the same.
This should solve your issue.

MRS (Multi Resource Scheduling) Assignment reporting (POWL)

We are implementing SAP Multiresource Scheduling (9.0 SP1) for one of our clients.We are working with the MRS RM webrequest application to create the MRS requests and we assign candidates and create assignments in the MRS planning board. We create both soft-bookings and hardbookings to support the outsourcing processes.
Now we would like to use the standard MRS reporting tools (POWL) which are available in the WebRequest application. However the assignment report returns no data. (0 records). This is strange because we have a lot of assignments created in the MRS planning board.
According to the documentation I checked and changed the following settings.
Check if the business function was activated (OPS_SME_SIMP_01)
Create a profile ID within the configuration “Define Data Selection for Resource Assignment List” and mark relevant datasets
Assign this profilIe ID to the Planboard profile
Check if planboard profile is determined for the selected organizational unit.
However the report still returns no data.

Integration between MRS and CATS

Hi experts!
We are implementing MRS (Multiresource Scheduling) for PS and CRM Services. And we are confirming hours in PS using CATS. I've read that there's a BAdI to pull actual data from CATS to MRS, to the planning board, but can't find it.
Does anyone know which that BAdI is? Or any way to take those actual hours from CATS to MRS?

Please do let me know, which is your MRS verson so that we are in sync. I am posting this reply with respect to MRS 610.
1) Instead of method UPDATE_CLOCK_DATA , you may consider using test program /MRSS/TEST_CLOCK_R3 for updating clocking data. It allows you to update clocking status for order operation and personnel resource with timestamp. ( I had used method UPDATE_CLOCK_DATA for integrating between IS-A-DBM with MRS. )
2) You will have to find suitable enhancement spot in transaction (like CAT2, CATA, IW41...) for calling this program.
3) Prerequisite for display of timedata in planning board is;
- Activate time recording in Planning board profile
- Maintain graphic elements in MRS customizing under User Interface profile

MRSS- ERROR HR RESOURCES TRANSFER TO MRS

Hi Experts!.
I am writing to see if anyone can guide me I'm transferring resources from HR to planner
I do it by means of the function /MRSS/HCM_RPTWFMIF
The resources are created in MRS but not their working hours. The infotype 0007 is associated with the resource
The function displays the window without results as you can see in the picture below.
In MRS Transaction /MRSS/PLBOORG the resource schedules appear unavailable.
Any idea what may be happening?...

The problem came about because I configured the time in Spanish.
In /MRSS/IMG, HR Integration->Configure Settings for HR Integration (ERP)
these should be in English.
Must be.... WORK, WORK_BREAK.
Also when times are not updated in the transfer of resources is because to stuck queues in the system, you must be configured as shown in the following link:

My requirement is whenever an employee gets created a report has to run in the background to tranfer data from PA30 i.e infotype chages to MRS (Multiresource scheduling) and moreover before running the report i need to check whether the required infotypes has been maintained for that employee or not so for that I need a table or some functional module to check. can you please tell me how to get that data.

MRS (Multi Resource Scheduling) - Show operation status in Planning Board

Because the current MRS thread is some long and complicated I chose to move this question into a seperate thread:
Initial question:
Like many companies, it is not unusual at my customer for their Planners to create orders with multiple operations, particularly since many orders require different crafts to perform the work. When the Planning Board is launched and Planners lok at work scheduled for the past week they want to be able to see at a glance which operations have been completed and which operations, perhaps from the same order, have not and may need to be rescheduled. Their preference is to select "final confirmation" when using transaction IW41 and thereby set the operation system status to CNF when the work on an operation has been completed. They then want to somehow use this CNF operation status to drive something visual in the graphical Demand layout display and Resource layout display to enable the Planner to see at a glance that the operation has been completed. I've tried several approaches with configuration of abstract statuses and the user interface profile without success. My customer's interest in being able to see the completion status of an operation in the MRS Planning Board makes a lot of sense to me. I'm hoping someone can help me with a technique for modifying the Planning Board so that it displays the completion status of an operation in a visual way.

Hi Mark,
The problem at your customers end is nothing new.
What you can do ( many other customers have done it in similar way ) is:
1) you integrate the status CNF into MRS.
Check the customizing: Basic Settings -> Assign ERP Objects -> Status
2) configure in MRS that for status CNF, the assignments and demands (only in item work list or Hotlist) is colored to GREEN (or any other color)
Check customizing: Set Up Scheduler Workplace -> Workplace Profiles -> Define User Interface Profiles
Thus the users will know visually, that the green colored assignments are already completed.
By the way, in your work list you can also filter the demands based on their status

Thanks for the response. I thought I had tried this but perhaps it's because in the UI profile I had not entered something in both the status groups for assignments and the status groups for demands. I have a bit more testing to do but it appears that the demand status now gets updated from the operation status of PCNF (linked to abstract status WORK_START) and CNF (linked to abstract status WORK_STOP). I also get a red bar (C4) for PCNF and a green bar (C1) for CNF. Do you have a better status group I should be using in place of C1 and C4? Status groups C1 and C4 give me a bar but it doesn't look like the demand bar with a outline and alphanumeric description of the demand, it's just a colored bar.
I know the work list can be filtered based on their MRS "planning" status, however, it doesn't appear to permit filtering by the status of the operation unless I add the operation status as an additional field in the worklist. Is there something I'm missing here? And even if it did, my customer wants to be able to see the CNF status indication in the Demand layout and schedule using the work centers so the worklist is not being shown like it is in the Resource layout.

MRS Auto Scheduling Network Order

Has any one in the forum implemented or know how to achieve Automatic Scheduling of Demand (Network Order/ Network Activity ) created through PS (Project Systems) in the MRS tool. ? Using Service Orders, this is a configurable item, with a BAdI for changes if necessary. But this does not apply to Network Orders. I am considering various options, but would like to know if this could be done without modifying an SAP standard program. Options tried out include calling FM ; /MRSS/API_ASSIGNMENT_CRE, this however fails to assign the demand in the planning board, although it would assign demand in debug mode. I have equally tried Recoding and creating a BDC, but the Resource fields are not captured in the recording. Any hint would serve.

Have you tried automatic scheduling on the network itself? In PS you can configure the network to auto schedule if the dates are changed. You may find that making changes to the dates in the network from MRS causes the network to reschedule itself.

MRS (Multi resoource scheduling) not working properly

Hello All,
We have MRS 610 installed in our landscape. We have configured it to integrate with Maintenance orders. We are facing an issue as to not all orders are reflected in the planning board though we make exact replica of orders which already exists in the planning board. Those orders which are there in the planning board doesnot reflect the changes that are done to it in PM module. I have checked all the demand related configuration settings and all seems to be fine. The inegration between PM and MRS is not working properly. Orders are getting pulled into the planning board if we run the report /MRSS/SGE_DEM_DATA_MIGRATION.
We recently upgraded to SP4 level. Kindly help me to trouble shoot this issue.

As far as I have understood that your problem is that the backward integration is not happening.
That means whenever you are assigning a resource to the PM Order these alocation are not reflected in PM Order. Just check following points.
1. Check weather you have activated back integration of PM or not !
2. Check this under the node: Sources of Demands->Orders-> Control integration of PM/CS Orders
3. Also make sure that you have activated back integration of demand type R3OR in the node Sources of demand.
4. Check PM Settings related to Work centre
5. Apply the Note 1135513 - MRS: Changes to standard for PM/CS
integration
Also please go through the Documentation supplied with the sofware Installation CD for MRS.
It gives step by step activities how to proced with config.you will have to go through this documentation very thoroughly as all information is avalable .

We are working in a MRS Project in where customer requirement is to see from planning Board of MRS the equipment associated to the order, keeping in mind that equipment is required at the moment of all orders creation to be scheduled in MRS.
We think that we could add in the item worklist the field u201Cequipmentu201D or "VIN" (fleet management) related to the order, but we donu2019t know which BADi would be the better to useu2026

MRS (Multi Resource Scheduling) - Manager Planning Board

My understanding of the MRS Manager Planning Board is that it will only display those orders that have operations that have been assigned to a resource. If true, this would mean that the Manager Planning Board would be of little value to an organzation that is only using MRS to schedule to a work center because there would be no demand that had been assigned to a resource. It would only start to be of some value once the organization began to assign demands to resources. Is this correct? Or, do you see other value in the Manager Planning Board for an organization that is only scheduling to a work center?
I've also found that when I run the Manager Planning Board that the resources are displayed, however, I have to hit "refresh" in the Planning Board to get the orders/operations (demand) to display.

Hi Mark,
As you already figured out correctly that the Manager planning board displays the resources (in display mode). It displays all the information about the resource: Its availability and assignments. since assignments are displayed, obviously the (related) demands are also displayed.
If the fine grained planning ( planning at resource level ) does not happen, then obviously it does not make sense to use the manager planning board transaction.
PS: As the name suggests this transaction is for managers who are not authorized to change anything but only for display. So they will see the resource availability and assignments in this transaction.
