MS-6309 ATX VA5

Can any one pls tell me what is the higher celeron processor my motherboard can support. my motherborad MS-6309 ATX VA5. VIA. VT82C694X chipset. Coppermine. ?(

Your board will accept, without question, ANY Celeron that uses in EXCESS of 1.6V core voltage (no Tualitins).
You can use a Powerleap adapter, if you wish more (http://www.powerleap.com) and there is a Tualitin mod on the net that would work too, but it is 'scary' and not for a novice.

  • MSI 694T (MS-6309 V5.0) New PSU with ISA Slot Used

This board (MS-6309 V5.0 - 694T) has an ISA slot which I use with a Sound Blaster AWE64 Gold.
The old power supply has blown and the new ones available no longer have the -5 volt connector populated on the 20/24 pin mainboard power connector.
I checked the gold finger on my ISA card and found that it doesn't use the -5 volt rail because pin B5 doesn't exist on the card.
Can I use a modern ATX power supply with this old board and still use the ISA slot without damaging the board / card / psu

No, it shouldn't damage anything, it's just that anything that requires -5V in ISA slot won't work.

On clean install WinXP or Win2k hangs every time on setup, loading files (windows executive) form CD or boot diskettes.
On warm boot, I receive Pri master error, run setup.
In Amibios Main, the Auto-Detect IDE hard disks, selects correct devices, but on returning are lost or displayed as SECMa CDRom, SECSlv CDRom with HD detected.
Isolated, PCI cards and DVD ROM, swapped cables, proven drive with install CD and cables on another PC (all work ok), but still same fault.
Harddrive accepts Win2K and XP with same media and cables on a Compaq.

I saw your post in another forum while I was doing a search in google as well.
Seems like it's the controller or the NB chip problem.
    HiNovJoe.
Posted fault in a few forums to speed up narrowing things down.
Can you expand on "seems its the controller or NB chip problem".
Its strange the installation hangs at "setup is loading win exec files", then when the drive is removed and Win2K is installed on the drive in another PC, replaced it then hangs in "Starting Windows" seemingly after setup.
Looking for the manual in forums OEM rogue motherboard.
    Cheers for looking.

  • MSI 915GM-FR Socket T (LGA 775) Intel 915G Micro ATX Intel Motherboard

Yes, because of recent turbulence   considering some of the ram I recently bought, I am looking for different Ram that is compatible with this board:      MSI 915GM-FR Socket T (LGA 775) Intel 915G Micro ATX Intel Motherboard
I know that some places it says that the voltage is 2.5, but could I push it a bit with 2.6  ?  because I really dont want to buy a no-name brand for what I want.  However, if not, thats the way it is...

Most boards have the DDR voltage set to 2.6V I believed. So if you put in a 2.5V rated DDR, it will still work. Undervoltage may not. You can always refer to MSI Test Report on DDR http://www.msi.com.tw/program/products/mainboard/mbd/pro_mbd_trp_detail.php?UID=606
but those are not complete list.

  • Neo2 paltinum ATX doesn't fit

My power supply ATX plug wont fit into the ATX socket on the Neo2 mobo. It fit just fine on my Asus, and Ive tried 2 other power supplies on the Neo2, and they don't fit either. theres a Thermaltake, an Antec, and I forget what the other one is, but thety are all vanilla oof-the-shelf PSUs.
The ATX connector is turned the right way, etc, etc. It doesnt look like any pins are bent.
    Help?

Stumped unless you have an Oddball PSU. Visually check the pins and jacks to make sure nothing is bent or blocked. Make a double check to see if you are plugging it in the right way. Worst case get hold of the seller to see if you can get an RMA. Maybe the jack was distorted although that would be the first I heard of that problem on any of these boards.

  • MS-6309 v5 Celeron 1.2 + Fuzzy Logic 3/4

this is a msg i posted to the MSI support mail.
    Hi!
Im using an old MS-6309 v.5 mainboard with the 370 socket
and a Celeron 1200 tualatin on WinXP SP1.
    This is my problem :
Im trying to use Fuzzylogic to overclock my system and simply doesnt
work it gives a error message that really doesn´t make sence.
In my manual it say that my mainboard supports Fuzzylogic 3.
I have all the latest updates for both windows and from liveupdate.
and i have come to the conclusion that it´s either something wrong with
my mainboard OR that fuzzylogic doesnt support my mainbord in WinXP, or
perhaps that the configuration in the BIOS is wrong. But i have tried
everything. I have tried FL4 also but same thing there.
Please help me before i go crazy.
    sincerly / John
Any suggestions would be helpfull .. Going APE! :]

I've currently got mine running at 1.31 GHz by raising the fsb to 131 MHz in the BIOS, which isn't too bad, but that's as high as the BIOS will allow with a Celeron and I know this thing will go faster.  It barely hits 90 degrees F with 100% load for several hours.   8o
With the higher multiplier (12x) on your CPU, it's very possible that 131 MHz fsb is about as high as you'll get it anyway.  So, you might not really need FuzzyLogic to max it out.  Just be sure you've got good cooling, turn it up slowly and watch your temps.  No response from MSI?   X(
I really wish this software worked, it looks pretty cool.  Oh yeah, for some reason, I had to enable or disable 'Quick Boot' in the BIOS to get it to overclock (can't remember which at the moment).  Enable it, I think.  Otherwise, it would repeatedly reboot, slowing itself down each time until it hit something like 666 MHz!   :(

  • ATX PSU conversion question

    Hello,
I'm converting an ATX PSU for use on a Sawtooth. The PSU I have is 20 + 4 pin type. So the 4 pin part is discarded on a Sawtooth. Anyway, my question is: can I use the 3v(Orange) line from the discarded 4 pin part, and move it over to pin 8, instead of soldering a nearby 3v line onto the pin 8 line? I'm thinking I can just remove the 3v. orange line from the discarded 4 pin part, install a new pin, and insert it into the pin 8 slot on the motherboard connector.
    Thanks,
    medinaray

This link shows the differences in the ATX & Sawtooth power supply pins/voltages

You can buy an adapter cable so that no wire cutting/soldering is necessary.

  • SSAUDIT .alg and .atx files are out of synch. How do I start from scratch ?

After upgrading Hyperion Planning from 11.1.1.3 to 11.1.2.1, the .alg and .atx files that are generated when SS Audit is enabled are now out of synch. How do I start from scratch again ? Stated differently, the row numbers in the .alg file no longer correspond to the .atx rows. How do I "reset" these files so they start again in row 1 ?
I know this must have happned to someone else so I thought a solution could be easily googled and found. I can't find it anywhere.

Stop the application and delete the files. If you want to just keep the changes from the last backup, change in the essbase.cfg SSAudit to SSauditR and then when you do an endArchive it will delete the files and start over

I have a HP Pavilion Elite d5100 ATX Desktop PC. On start-up, it froze at the HP flash Screen. It’s mostly unresponsive; will not access BIOs w/ f1 key; will not Recover w/ f11. It will respond at start-up to ESC, displaying “Loading Boot Menu…”, and w/ f10 “Entering Setup”, but never proceeds past message.I have never upgraded the BIOS I have disconnected and peripherals, net connection and replaced the CMOS battery. I have also followed a suggestion to disconnect the mouse and keyboard on start- up to see if they are the issues. Nothing is working.

    Hi,
If you can enter setup, then go into the bios and see if the hard drive and the CD/DVD are recognized.   If you can't get past the entering setup message then try the below procedures.
Unplug the PC and open it up. Clean out all the dust. Carefully remove and replace all the cables going to the motherboard one at a time. Do the same for the memory dimms and the video and sound cards if you have any.  You might want to buy a can of compressed air to blow the dust out of the CPU heat sink.  Plug your PC back in and give it a go.
Try this procedure and see if you can isolate the issue. Trouble Shooting Power Supply Issues. Don’t skip any steps.

bought this board off ebay...(I know)....I tried installing winxp & received all kinds of error code messages & can't be loaded messages & bsods.....so I tried loading win98 & received errors as well....I've tried different memory sticks, videocards,  underclocking so I thought I would try a bios flash as a last resort ...I'm wondering if I have the right bios installed that came with the board...as per a search at this forum between the pci slots on the mobo I have these markings   CE  ver:2      ms-6309    N1996 ...I assumed I had just a straight ms-6309 but the bios that loads shows this  A6309MS V3.2  12012000 ......wouldn't this be a bios for an ms-6309 lite?.....are the 6309 & 6309 lite ami bios flashes compatible/interchangeable?.....I've put alot of time & effort into this, I'd appreciate some help.....thanks alot

  • How do I convert PDF files of mdepreciation schedules from ATX software into excel spreadsheets? Can that be done with Adobe?

I am a CPA trying to convert depreciation schedules from ATX software PDF files into excel. Is that possible?

    Hi Henry,
The ExportPDF online service allows you to convert PDF files to Excel format. I'm not familiar with ATX software, but in general, the quality of the conversion depends on how well the original PDFs are written.
If you decide to give ExportPDF a try, and it doesn't work out for you, you're welcome to cancel for a full refund within 30 days of subscribing.

  • 6309 lite & Tualatin CPU

I have been trying to get a MS-6309 LITE to work with a Celeron 1.1g CPU.  It is a Tualatin core.  I know it is not supported but I installed a Lin-Lin socket 370 adapter.
The system stops after showing me the sdram installed in #1 & #2 slots.
I have bios 3.7 on the board.  I can't even get it to boot to the floppy.  Is there a setting in Bios I am overlooking?  Should I give up and get a board that supports Tualatin out of the box?
    Any help is appreciated.

I think you should give up and get a board that supprt the cpu within the adaptor.
