MS-6330-LIte

I just got what appears to be a MS-6330-Lite with the on-board Promise Fastrack Raid 100.  Its a green board, with Award Bios version 3.3, and Fastrack bios version 1.31M Build 24.  I am running Windows XP Pro.  I installed the driver from promise37.exe, and it shows up fine in the control panel.  Problem is, the Monitoring Utility tells me it cant find the card or the driver, and wont connect.
Please direct me on what i should do to resolve this

  • MS-6330 Lite K7T Pro2 Ver:1 with GeForce FX 5200, does it works?!

    Hello...
I have one MS-6330 Lite K7T Pro2 Ver:1 and it Support AGP 2.0 1x/2x/4x, and I want to buy a GeForce FX 5200 that works for AGP 8x...
Question, this GeForce FX5200 will work with my MotherBoard (that supports AGP 2.0 1x/2x/4x) ?!?!
I think that´s no problem, and i´ll not have ALL the features that the board offers, but will work... do you guys know about?!

AGP cards are backward and forward compatible within limits. 1.5 V-only keyed cards will not go into 3.3 V slots and vice versa, though "Universal" slots exist which accept either type of card. AGP Pro cards (rarely used) will not fit into standard slots, but standard AGP cards will work in a Pro slot. Some newer cards like nVidia's GeForce 6-series or ATI's X800-series only have keys for 1.5 V to prevent them from installing in older mainboards without 1.5 V support. The graphic cores can only handle 0.8 V for AGP8x and 1.5 V for AGP4x and will be damaged by 3.3 V slots. Some of the last modern cards with 3.3 V support were the nVIDIA GeForce FX5000-series and the ATI Radeon 9500/9700/9800(R350) (but not 9600/9800(R360)).
to answer your question, that card will work in your board

  • Corrupted start button & menu with 6330 lite

    I'm desperate  !
Yes, really : have got a brand new G4Mx440-t VGA graphic accelerator to fit my 6330 lite motherboard (socket A AMD Athlon 1000 Ghz) and Win 98se start menu and button corrupt again, exactly as with my old creative TNT2 accelerator (I finally managed to find a driver that didn't do it !)
Of course, I downloaded all the last drivers for my Via chipset, for the Nvidia chip and for every little device I found inside my computer.
That's computer science : you honestly believe you've got rid of a problem (having spent a whole week on it), and it pops up again without any reason !
    Can anyone help me ?

I had this problem once with my GF2 MX card.  I downloaded the latest drivers and found that the problem had gotten worse!  This put me on the right track though. I uninstalled the newest drivers and used the drivers that came with the card on a CD.  Problem solved.  This shows that the latest drivers is not always the best solution.  Check also if an older version of DirectX helps.

  • K7TPro2 or 6330-Lite (whatever)

    Hi all,
My board has printed K7TPro2 v1 on PCB and a stick labeled 6330-Lite, well, both run fsb at 100Mhz, but the first one allow overclock. So I upgrade to the last bios v3.6, that is the same for both, but the settings for overclock doesn't appear on bios. So i look forward MSI home page and saw that not one or another run Duron Morgan at any speed, incredibly, there is a Duron Morgan 1.3Ghz running here for several days at full load. My question are:
    1. Is there any way to run cpus at 133mhz?
    2. Is there credibility on MSI Site and products labels information?
    Tks all. 8)

    Tks Bas.

  • Pcb v3.0 6330-Lite&palomino support list

does anyone know of an accurate listing for cpu support
for the 6330 Lite pcb v3 board? the product info page has a listing for the pcb v1. and that doesn't help much.
the note on the main info page says it supports palomino cores, but the bios says only certain boards in the 6330 series will go past 2100+, which i find to be odd, since palominos go up to 2600+ (if you can find them)

    >German MSI site
Fastest Palomino is XP2100, all faster XPs are Thoroughbred/Barton.

  • Ms6330 lite

I have tyhe 6330 lite ver 3 MB and have beeh running the 1.2 AMD 1.2 Athlon CPU with the latest BIOS.  My son upgrades his 1.4  Athlon with a 2.0 XP Palimeno so I tried his 1.4 in my system and the clock speed shows now at 1046 MHZ with the 1.4 chip where it use to show 1.2 with the 1.2 chip.  There are no clock speed setting with the BIOS.
Any ideas to get it to 1.4 or should I put the 1.2 back in?
    Thanks

The MS6330 Lite shows that it can only support 200FSB CPU's, and says 1.2Ghz max. CPU support

  • Is it possible to use "not" logical operator in a Business Rule Condition?

This seems like a very simple request to me, but I cannot see any other questions/answers about it.
Can I add a "not" to my Conditions in a Business Rule?
My scenario is that I have a core Entity with a Type.  The Type is a domain attribute with a Code and Name.  The Code of the core Entity should in the form 'AA-9999', where 'AA' is the Code from Type.
The idea is that I have a business rule with the condition "not
Code starts with DBA.Type.Code" and the Action would be "Code is not valid".
Is this possible?  Is there a better way of implementing this?
    Thanks,
    Michael

Yeah! This is the board in question! But it has lots of versions, like K7T Pro, K7T Pro2 (my one!), K7T Turbo, K7T Turbo Limited Edition and K7T Turbo2, all of then are WS-6330 Lite...   They phisically diferent, but the BIOS seens to be the same... I want to know is this feature in the newer version is going to work or not on my board (MS 6330 Lite K7T Pro2 Ver:1) ....
Doesn´t matter what board you choose (PRO, PRO2, Turbo, Turbo2) the MSI page shows all the same BIOS to Download... But I think that this feature is only applicable for K7T Turbo2, but will make no difference in my! At least that´s what I think...
But you´re right! The board that I have is the one on the link you said!
    Thanks!

  • KT2 COMBO, Is 12v power Connector Needed?

Just Bought a "KT2 COMBO" to upgrade mi good old 6330 lite, and add some 2100 DDR Ram, and a new xp processor ( 2000+ ).
The problem is I'm using the same case, and the power supply in it has no 12 V ATX Power connector.
In the Quick User Guide, it refers to it (p 2-9), saying it's to provide power to the CPU.
Would the system work ok if I use only the main power connector?
Has anyone tried using it this way?

If you don't have stability problems it's probably fine.
You can buy an adapter to allow you to convert a mulex ( like you plug into an HDD ) to the 4 pin 12V plug.
If you don't have one you might try looking in local shops for butn out PSUs that have them, cut the wire and solder it to your PSU's output ( yellow to yellow, black to black )

  • Can you identify this motherboard?

I've spent several hours reading through all the tech support docs I could find, but I'm still not sure which motherboard I have for sure.  Here is what I know:
--The motherboard has "K7T TURBO VER 3.0" stamped on it.
--There is a sticker on the VT82C686 chipset chip that says: "MS-6330 MS-LITE"
--The two Raid connectors and the J17 jumper (J17 = FSB jumper) were never soldered on!  The soldering connections are there, and they're labeled correctly, but the connectors themselves were never attached.  The K7T TURBO is supposed to have those connectors, and the motherboard manual assumes you can change the FSB using jumper J17.
--I have the latest BIOS installed (Award version 3.6 for K7T TURBO), but the only options on the Frequency/Voltage Control page in CMOS are "Auto Detected DIMM/PCI Clk" and "Spread Spectrum Modulated".  The motherboard manual for K7T TURBO states there should also be settings there to control the CPU Voltage and CPU/Clock ratio, etc.
--Yesterday I installed a new Athlon XP (Palomino) 1800+ CPU.  This CPU is supposed to run at 1.53 GHz, but the motherboard runs it at 1150 MHz, and I can't find a way to make it run faster.  The K7T Turbo board is supposed to allow it to run at 1.5 GHz.
I'm starting to think I have a prototype K7T Turbo board with a dumbed-down chipset, essentially making it equal to the MS-6330 "Lite" version (which, BTW, only runs as fast as 1.2 GHz... but it's not supposed to allow Athlon XP's to run either, so go figure...).  Of course there's no mention of a hybrid board like this anywhere I can find.
Anyone have a clue what's going on with my motherboard?  I'd like to get that CPU to run at 1.5 GHz instead of 1150 MHz because it's being used as a server.

Yes, I think that's my board, but without the optional RAID IDE connectors (the blue connectors in the lower left).
BUT, the BIOS doesn't have the same options as what the motherboard manual says, and it doesn't allow my 1800+ Athlon XP cpu to go higher than 1150 MHz; I should be getting about 1530 MHz.  The cpu/clock options in BIOS are missing, so I can't set the CPU/clock ratio to 11.5 (133 FSB x 11.5 ratio = ~1530 MHz).  And YES I do have the latest BIOS (Award ver. 3.6).
Plus the J17 jumper for FSB is not soldered on.
So again, it looks like a dumbed down K7T TURBO with an MS-LITE controller instead of the regular controller.
As a follow-up from yesterday, I was going to try turning the "High System Performance" option in BIOS on.  But unfortunately there IS NO option called that, even though the MB manual says there is.  So go figure.
I sent an email to MSI tech support, haven't heard back yet.  I may need to call them and talk to someone up their chain a bit before I find an answer.
Thanks for all the help everyone!

  • Display Freeze

    I have a K7T Turbo ver.3 mobo MSI 6330 Lite which is run off a 250W PSU. (1.3 AMD / 512sd ram)
Ive just installed an FX5200 and i seem to be getting display freeze when gaming but has happened in windows. The card doesn't seem to be getting very hot, ive updated the bios (v3.6) and Via Hyperion drives but it hasn't rectified the fault.
My last guess is possible psu problem, but if thats the case, would it happen as intermittantly as it does??
    Any advice greatly received
    Thanks

    davejubbly,
Without the Video Card you should have a Minimum of a 300W Power Supply, you do not even have that and you are adding a Vid Card that pulls another 75 watts!!!
Go get a good brand name (Like Antec Truepower) power supply with around a  400W or better Rating.
    Take Care,
    Richard

  • Cpu upgrade question ... again !

OK, I've done more research on the motherboard this system has got, and it turns out that it is an OXNARD ( gateway 2000 ) motherboard ..... looks exactly like the msi 6330-lite motherboard .... so I am assuming its a 6330 lite motherboard.
The gateway website shows the motherboard as capable of taking up to a athlon 1.3 Mhz cpu, although I am simply looking at upgrading to a 1.2 athlon cpu ( 100 mhz variety )
also, I have noted the bios that is installed on my machine here is the 0AAVWP02 version that gateway provided .... I am still wondering a couple things :
1 - can i simply get an athlon 1.2 Mhz cpu and ( as i have been told in an earlier post ) clear the cmos to upgrade my machine ? Also, how exactly do i clear the cmos on this board ? Or will I have to upgrade the bios, which I am very unsure of how to do on this particular motherboard ... making me very nervous here ...
2 - if I DO have to upgrade the bios on this motherboard, what version of the gateway bios do i need , and how, exactly, do i do it ? I am not the most savvy pc user, have upgraded bios a few times before on other machines, and done a couple cpu upgrades too, but anyone got any suggestions for a semi-newb on this upgrade ?
    thanks, warren

    Ok..
i really dont think that u should assume that the two mainboard are identical just because they look the same..
Upgrading... Well... Its different from MB to MB... On MSI, all u have to do is plug the CPU and the MB configures it self.. (ALl u have to do is set the FSB).. But on other manifactires, u might have to set up the clock speed ratio and the core voltages manualy using jumpers.. U need the MB maunal to do this..
clearing CMOS.. I dont c why u need to do this.. But if u really want to then there should be a small jumper of three pins with a cap in the first two pins. Pul it out and plug in into the next two pins and again plug it into the first two pins.. (DONT DO THIS WITH THE COMPUTER ON).. If this doesnt work then pull the battary out, wait for a few min ans put it back in

    56K Fax Modem

    400W power supply
    512 MB SDRAM
    OS: Win XP proffesional
Recently my older GeForce 2 video card was fried and it had to be replaced.  When I replaced it I bougth a new GeForce 4 Ti4200  and put it in.  everything seemed to be going great until about two days after instalation it begins to give me strange video problems followed b my computer just locking up.  The video problems include long drawn out polygons, random dots and smears of coloration on the screen.  It only used to do this in Unreal Tournament 2003, However now it will just do it as I run windows aps like Word or Powerpoint.  I have done a few things to try to fix the problem,  I upgraded my power supply from 250W to the 400W one in it now,  I have reseated the card 4 times, I have tryed various driver versions, and have run the 4 in 1 Via upgrade.  Nothing is working and I am at my wits end, at this point the only thing I hope it might  be is a faulty AGP card and I could try to exchange the card for another. Please, someone please help me out here.
    Thank you

would be happier if 3.3 was 30 or so
