MS-6533E VGA Driver problem on Windows NT

Hi
We recently bought a computer with a MS-6533E board with a vga plug on it.  I am trying to find a driver for Windows NT 4 (sp6a), I couldn't find a driver for it on the CD-Rom that came with the board.
I went on the web page, I downloaded http://download.msi.com.tw/support/dvr_exe/650nt3b.exe and I tried it, it didn't work :
I installed it (SiS Compatible VGA), it asked me to reboot, I did, then it asked me to adjust my parameters, I have only 640x480, 16 colors, and 60 Mhz as choice.  I hit "Test" and I get a blue screen, the system halted.  I tried without hitting Test, but OK instead, asked me to reboot, I did, and then it told me the system couldn't use the driver.
Can anyone help me please?
Thanks
Alexandre Thibault

Hi Toucan,
I'm getting a bit confused on your post... So now do you have or have not any VGA card running on your mobo... or you are still using any PCI VGA card? If you are using a VGA card, what card are you using? Give us the model of your VGA card...
If your problem lies in onboard VGA, check if you set your BIOS to VGA/Int VGA? APIC disable(as you are running NT4)?
All the Best... :D!!!

Driver problems with Windows Professional XP 64bit Edition

Well, after looking around the forum here I found an answer that works! I wish I could remember who to give credit too though. I installed the latest Vista drivers and I got static all the time. I tried another members suggestion of disabling the X-Fi device in the Device manager every time I log off and then enable the X-Fi the next time I log in. I have great sound as long as I do that. Also, for connecting to a home system I am using the DTS-60, $00 on this website, but it works well if you havea DTS decoder. I am using the X-Fi extreme Music edition. Good Luck, hopefully another driver is on the way.

  • Bootcamp Driver Problems in Windows 8

I use a MBP 13" 2010 model, and I've used it for a long time, but it's never had any problems with Bootcamp until now.
Last month I bought a copy of Windows 8 Pro x64 (disc) and I wanted to install it on my recently clean-installed Mac. I installed it with no problems using Bootcamp. Booting into Windows 8, I found that the Bootcamp Drivers weren't compatible with Windows 8, but I looked up a guide that told me just to install the drivers one by one. I did that and rebooted.
The drivers still didn't work for some reason. The brightness controls weren't adjustable, the keyboard shortcuts didn't work, the trackpad failed as well, and numerous other problems plagued me in Windows mode. I re-installed the drivers and rebooted, but it still didn't work. I even installed the Nvidia display driver seperately, but no go. Is this Bootcamp's problem? Most likely the driver's out of date.
So I'm stuck using my office computer now, until I can find a way to fix this. Any help would be appreciated.

    defan752,
I recently put Windows 8 (64bit) on my 15" 2009 MBP. I performed a clean install utilizing Boot Camp. I followed instructions found online. Prior to installing Win8, I had WinXP installed on a partition, which worked perfectly.
For my Win8 installation I upgraded my MBP's OS from Snow Leopard to Mountain Lion. Mountain Lion comes with a newer version of Boot Camp (version 4.0 - I believe). The newer version has a slightly different process for driver installation. It has you create a driver installation disc within the Boot Camp Asstant software running on my Mac BEFORE creating the partition and installation. First it will connect to the interenet and download the latest support files for the drivers for your machine, then it will ask you to insert a blank disc, upon which it will write Windows friendly installation file (the disc contained an executable file [.exe] which is to be run on the newly installed windows parition). While Boot Camp (4.0 or whatever it is that came with Mountain Lion) doesn't have official support for Windows 8, utilizing the Windows 7 installation method will create a Driver CD that works in Win8. After creation of driver disc, follow the normal installation instructions (create partition, install win8). Once Win8 finishes installing, go to the desk top (Windows Button + D), pop in the driver disc and the Executable file. After the file runs the drivers will be installed but will require a reboot in order to be utilized. Reboot your machine and you should be good to go.
NOTE: hold on to that driver disc, I have already had to use it to repair some of my drivers that got messed (my own fault, not mac's or MS) and reran the executable file which fixed everything again.
NOTE: You will be able to utilize much of the drivers in the Win8 environment, however there are limitations. While the trackpad supports multitouch, it is limited (two finger right click, two finger scrolling). The nifty new multitouch gestures in Win8, are not yet supported. I suspect they will be with future updates to these drivers. But we won't get that until Boot Camp can fully support Win8. Also I noticed that my speakers don't switch to headphones when I plug them in, nor does it recognize the toslink connection. I'm still looking for answers to those problems.

  • Vivtar Webcam driver problem in Windows 7 Enterprise x64

Hi all, I had not long purchased a Vivitar DVR 708HD Camcorder and the camera itself is rather poor, but I was impressed with it's webcam function back when I had it working on a different computer. I'm not an amature as I'm usually quite good at finding
device drivers as I did a lot of manual driver installations in Windows 98 and 95 but this one as stumped me. The even more annoying thing is, I have lost the OEM disk for the camera (although, I wasn't entitrely sure if it contained a device driver for it)
and I have got it to work once but that was in Windows 7 Ultimate x86. Now my computer is running a 64 bit version of Windows (Windows 7 Enterprise to be precise, as described in the title) and I know some drivers do not like running in 64 bit if they are
not native to them but I was wondering if anybody possibly knows how to sort this. If it is a compatibility issue with 64 bit operating systems then so be it but I was hoping somebody could assist me with this and possibly find a driver solution to work this
    camera.

    USB\VID_04FC&PID_1628&MI_02
I suppose it could also be possible that Vivitar features a different type of Firmware for this cameras I'm not sure but good luck if you can help!

  • Nvidia Geforce 650m driver problem for windows 8.1 on macbook pro

Hey guys. I installed windows 8.1 on my macbook pro (mid2012, Intel core i7, retina, Geforce 650m) of course only for game, but I have a disappointing problem with the graphics driver. First I tried to instal graphics card driver by bootcamp (not the last version, the one before the last) .It started to install drivers one by one starting with graphics card, but suddenly the screen got black and remained black forever! I restarted the windows and guess what! after windows logo it got black and nothing more! Then I installed windows again and tried to install driver from windows update. It checked for update and found the driver for it and downloaded it and started to install, but again the black screen !!! Please help me thanks.

no this does not work. bootcamp drivers are broken for windows 8.1 on an efi install. apple is withholding the discreet gpu drivers from microsoft to trick people into thinking osx is more stable/efficient and thus windows cannot detect which gpu it is supposed to use when it can see both. the discreet gpu is hidden in the fake bios setup that bootcamp wants you to install with. the problem with doing this is that the more powerful gpu is all you can use in windows so the computer runs more hot and is louder which is annoying and hard on the battery life.
thanks apple, if i knew that when i bought the laptop i would have gone with something else.
This is not correct. If you force an EFI installation on a preUEFI Mac, you will see GPU and Audio errors. A non-EFI Hybrid MBR installation works correctly. Does Windows have the ability to switch GPUs? OS X, using external monitors, uses the non-Intel discreet GPU and the machine does not run hot. If Windows can provide dual-GPU support (which they have) and also provide GPU-switching (missing), this can be done. Can it be done for older hardware, highly unlikely. MacRumors has threads with PCI Register changes to expose the Intel GPU and the machine still runs hotter.

What operating system are you running on your computer? Are you connecting wireless or with a USB cable? What is the error message that you are getting?

  • VGA beamer problems with Windows 7 64-bit enterprise on MacBook Air 2012

For us the following problem is solved now! It might help other people with the same problems.
At our institute we have two new MacBook Airs 5.2 (2012) running Windows 7 64-bit Enterprise under Boot Camp.
They both cannot used for Windows-presentations with VGA beamers by using the mini-DP-to-VGA adapter (with Mac OS X 10.7 it just works fine).  First of all, the suggestions from Apple phone support were not of any help at all (try PRAM reset, try SMC reset, ...). We tried an external USB-3.0-graphics adapter made by SUNIX (it failed, probably since Apple blocks other graphic cards in the EFI).
Then we saw the following article, which describes the same problems with a Dell XPS, but also using the Apple mini-DP-to-VGA adapter:
    http://www.irongeek.com/i.php?page=reviews/dell-xp-mini-displayport-projector-fi x
We finally bought a "Mini-DisplayPort to VGA Active Video Adapter" from StarTech.com (product ID: MDP2VGAW) ...
    AND IT WORKS!
Quintessence: Apple mini-DP-to-VGA adapter is too crappy for the (probably always behind) Windows.

    Hello again,
After speaking to an Apple Genius, it seems the solution was to update the firmware for the Cinema Display. Since I have done this, the monitor appears to behave better.

  • Cirrus Logic CS4206A Sound Driver Problem in Windows 7

    Hi All
I am having a problem with our Imacs. When we first installed windows 7 on our macs we found that we had no sound on the windows side and i figured out that the wrong drivers where installed so i have got the right driver off the MAC OS disk and i have installed the sound driver manually on our macs.
This originally fixed the problem but not every so often the sound driver breaks and we have no sound on the windows side. When i diagnose the sound driver is says there is a fix for this please apply this fix. I apply this fix and surprise sound comes back but this keeps on happening and is rather annoying.
Has anyone had this before and if so has anyone found a fix .

  • IDT Audio Driver Problems on Windows 7

For the past few weeks, I have been dealing with the same audio swings and speaker problems that many other people here have complained of.  I am aware of the Driver update for those who have Windows 8 computers, but I have a Windows 7.  This computer was bought in last June after my previous HP laptop (which consequently had no issues) needed to be replaced.  Restarting the computer fixes it for a few minutes but it always has issues until it inevitably makes it so I am unable to hear anything or play any videos.  I have uninstalled, deleted, and reinstalled the IDT driver several times including downloadling directly from the HP website. I have sat and watched as the Beats Audio Settings swing back and forth and watched as Windows Explorer crashes because I attempted to change the volume settings on my keyboard.  Most of the time, I can't even restart or shut down my computer anymore, it just stays at a black screen with the power light on until I manually turn it off or the battery dies.
I'm so frustrated with this and even more so at the fact that a fix has been pushed through for Windows 8 users but you're leaving those of us with Windows 7 stuck with unusable laptops.  Please tell me how I can resolve this issue or point me to someone who can help me replace my laptop.  Thank you.
P.S. I'm not mad at you, just at the situation, I'm sorry for sounding like a jerk.

    Hi,
Please try one of the following methods:
    1. Uninstall Audio driver, reboot the machine and install the following driver:
         http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp64501-65000/sp64958.exe
    2. Uninstall audio driver, reboot the machine during connect to the internet. Wait for around 10mins and check. Install the above driver if it does not come back automatically.

  • Satellite 2770 - Display driver problems with Windows 2000

    Hello,
I've a Toshiba Satellite 2770 and installed Windows 2000 on it. If I'm not wrong the S2770 does have a S3 Savage IX/MV graphic card and I downloaded the Windows 2000 driver from the S3 website but it wont be recognized by the hardware detection.
Then I tried the Windows 95SE driver from the Toshiba website, but Windows 2000 wont acept it due it's not suitable for Windows 2000 as it seems.
What to do? Isnt there a Windows 2000 driver out there which works? I dont want to work in 640x480 and 16 colors forever!

    Hello
You are absolutely right. Your unit has S3 Savage IX8 graphic card but problem is that your unit is delivered with WinME operating system. That means that there is no support for other operating systems. All drivers are designed for each notebook model and OS separately. The only way to solve this problem is to install the driver given by graphic card producer. If this not works you have a big problem.
Sorry but I really dont know what you can do. Maybe you can try to install the driver designed for Sat 2750. There is the same graphic card but driver is designed for Win98SE.
