  • Question about AUTOTRACE, SP2-0618 and SP2-0611

    Good morning,
I wanted to look at the execution plan(s) for some sample queries. I did a little research using Google, found out about autotrace, plan_table, plustrace role and utlxplan. I followed the instructions I found but the result isn't quite as expected.
Here is an output of a freshly started session:
    0 01:50 [SS1TB Attic-Z] [5G] [750M] Z:\Documentation\Oracle\
    Oracle Concepts\Scripts>sqlplus hr/abc123

    SQL> select count(*) from plan_table;
      COUNT(*)
             2
    SQL> set autotrace on
SP2-0618: Cannot find the Session Identifier.  Check PLUSTRACE role is enabled
    SP2-0611: Error enabling STATISTICS report
    SQL> select count(*) from plan_table;

    Note
       - dynamic sampling used for this statement (level=2)
SQL>1. the first select is there to ensure I have a plan_table, that checks.
    2. When I set autotrace on, I get SP2-0618 and SP2-0611 for reasons that I cannot figure out.
    3. the second select is there to find out if the autotrace in step 2 had any effect. It did since now the explain plan is displayed.
The question is: if it is working (as step 3 demonstrates) then why I am getting those errors in step 2 ? and what do I have to do to not get those errors anymore ?
Thank you (again!) for your help,
    John.
Note: I created the plustrace role, granted it select on v_$sesstat, v_$statname, v_$session, then I granted plustrace to hr. Was there something else needed ?

    Hi John,
It looks like that, for PLUSTRACE it is important for the user to be logged out when the role is granted otherwise, it looks like there is a part of the process that doesn't "stick".That's not just with the PLustrace role. Any role would be working when the next time the user is going to log in. Please see below where using two sessions, I shall grant a user some privs and would see whether its working for the user or not.

    Ananda,
If you're starting the server from the command line, this is normal behavior. All these messages will output to the console and logs. If you start this from the GUI interface, the output will go to the logs.

  • Photoshop CS2 and SP2

    Hello!
I've been a happy user of Photoshop for a long time, however, after I installed SP2 (WinXP Pro)the problems started.
I'm using Wacom Graphire 3, and whenever I try to draw in Photoshop CS2 it freezes. At first it lasts about three seconds, then it starts responding again, and after I draw a couple of lines it freezes again and won't come back at all. I tried using the mouse, if the tablet is causing the problem - didn't help. I also tried updating the tablet driver, didn't work either. So the problem has to be in Photoshop, or somewhere else in my computer.
I'd really appreciate any help concerning this matter, please tell me if you need any additional information.

Since you only mention Photoshop as having a problem, this is almost
certainly, as you suspect, a monitor profile config problem.
Color profiles for individual monitors are configured in
    Start>Settings>Control Panel>Display>Settings>(Advanced Button)>Color
    Management.
In Settings, click on the monitor whose profile you want to verify before
clicking on the "Advanced..." button. I would start by adding and
defaulting the profile for the monitor that is causing problems.
The Microsoft XP color control panel applet makes setup easier, though it
is not really necessary. If the link below fails, google for keywords
Microsoft XP color control panel applet.

  • MS SQL and SP2 for WinXP

I have installed SP2 for windows XP and since then there is a problem with theMS SQL server. The service manager is running but the default port 1433 for sql server doesn,t listen. I have checked it with an active port utility and I 've noticed that the port is closed.
Due to this fact a connection with the database fails and I keep receiving the error " Cannot a establish a socket for connection ".
    Thank you

To open ports in the SP2 Windows Firewall just open "Windows Firewall" configuration window from Control Panel, click on the "exceptions" tab, click "add port", give it a name like "sql" and the port you're having trouble with, and then press ok.
It will appear in the list of services as whatever name you gave it. Make sure it's box is checked, click ok, and you're laughing.
If case this doesn't work then it's not just the windows firewall blocking the port that's the problem. In this case you can use the same configuration window to just disable windows firewall completely.
    Hope this helps.
    Robin.

    Well, I'll go along with something wrong. If you can give me precise steps in how to duplicate the issue. I would like you to also try  one of our web samples from here;
    https://wiki.sdn.sap.com/wiki/display/BOBJ/CrystalReportsfor.NETSDK+Samples
I recommend vbnet_web_simplepreview and see if you can duplicate the issue with the sample app.
Remember that more than likely, you are not the only one running SP 1 and / or SP 2 and I do not see other reports of the issue you describe in these forums...

  • Satellite M30 keeps crashing after reinstall and SP2

    hi,
Can someone please help me. I'm having trouble with my Sat M30. It is 2 yrs old and I've never had problems with it before. However, I recently had a crash and decided to reinstall from the recovery CD. upon reinstallation, I tried downloading service pack 2 and my computer keeps crashing. I have not installed any other software and still keep having this problem. This is very strange since sp2 worked perfectly on my laptop until the recent crashes. Any help would be greatly appreciated, I've reinstalled now for the third time and am extremely frustrated.
    the error I recieved on crash was: ***stop: 0X000000f4 (0X00000003, 0X86152950, 0X86152Ac4, 0X805f9f88)
    thanks very much

    Hi
Thats pity that it happens. Did you check the Microsoft Windows XP SP2 Update information on the Toshiba driver page? In the Sat M30 driver area you will find the document which describes what application must be updated to use the SP2.
I would recommend firstly checking this sheet before starting any SP2 installations.

    Please advise..
    Thank you!

    Hi,
I had the same problem with my BPC 7 installation yesterday and followed all the proposed solutions in this thread with no luck. When I checked,  the OSoftResSvrZFP_EN.dll was missing - you might be missing this too. Anyway, I solved it by running the BPC 7.0 server installation exe and then selected 'Repair'.

  • Atheros AR5004G and SP2 problem

I have been reading may issues on various forums and it seems a fix is needed.
We recently bought 4 laptops and upgraded to SP2. I tried the wireless out and it doesn't connect using DHCP. If I use a static IP it connects but something is not quite right as I cannot surf the Internet.
Are there any plans on a driver upgrade?

    Hi Andy
My Tecra is also updated with SP2 and I have no problem with wireless connection. In your case if there is any kind of wireless card functionality it can not be hardware problem just something with wireless settings. If the notebooks are new there is no necessary to make any driver update. Which notebook models do you have?
Do you use windows settings for wireless connection or some wireless client? I connect to internet using wireless router. Do you also use wireless router? Which connection type you use?
Like I said it can be something with connection settings.

    Seb,
I have a look at the document: http://help.sap.com/businessobject/product_guides/boexir31/en/xi3-1_bip_admin_en.pdf
I can see where to schedule the Crystal Reprot to run in the background and send out via email option.
However, I dont see how the report can be sent out from BOE server. Is there any setting need to be done so that BOE Server can send out the crystal report?
    Please help, thank you.

  • Difference between SP3 and SP2 ?

    Hi,
Did anybody encountered any difference/problem in deploying the same EAR
with supporting jar files in SP2 and SP3 ?
I have an EAR (with 2 EJB jars and a WAR) that encloses additional
supporting jar libraries, referenced by the EJB and WAR using Class-Path in
the manifest file. But this seems to work in SP2 and NOT to work in SP3,
where I get ClassNotFoundError in the EJB/WAR, sign that it cannot find the
    supporting jars.
I appreciate all the help you can provide ! Thanks !
    Eugen

    Hi sunny46,
Microsoft has published an overview http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=68c48dad-bc34-40be-8d85 -6bb4f56f5110&DisplayLang=en and Wikipedia has also some infos http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Windows_XP
XP Home is only avaiable as a 32-bit version, the only avaiable 64-bit Windows XP is a XP Pro.
But don't try it since 64-bit XP is not supported by Apple.
Using XP SP2 or SP3 is fine with BootCamp.
However there are some reports to be found here, that there are difficulties when you have installed an XP SP3 and want to use the BootCamp Driver Update 2.1.
Personally I would get a XP SP2 and use the standalone SP3 update package.
Later on you can use the XP SP2 CD and the SP3 updater to make a slipstreamed XP SP3 installation CD yourself.
    Hope it helps
    Stefan

  • Ipod and SP2

I just got my Ipod and found out that Itunes only works with windows SP2. I dont want to install SP2 because im a bit of a gamer and some of my games arent compatible with it.. is it possible to get itunes and my ipod to work with SP1?
    thanks

Both the iPod and ITunes version 4.9 works just fine with SP1.

  • I want to install winXP to my iMAC running Lion OS.  I will use BootCamp.  My winXP uses 2 disks with XP on one CD and SP2 on the other.  Bootcamp seems to say use a one disk version.   What can I do about this paradox?

I want to install winXP on my iMac.  It has OS 10.7.2 and uses a 27" display.  I will use Bootcamp and create a separate partion for winXP.  Bootcamp instructions call for a single disk winXP CD with Service Pack 2 on it.  My version has winXP on one disk and Service pack 2 on another.  Will this be a problem?  If it is, is there a solution?
                                                                            Tnx...K6jpj

If you just bought an iMac a week ago new, it WILL NOT support XP unless XP is inside a virtual machine.  End of story.  You will need Windows 7 if you plan to run Windows natively on any Mac in 2011.
Used models will run XP, though--from the Intel inception in '06 through the middle part of 2010.
However, consider that Microsoft wants XP gone--and badly so--even as it is extending security hotfix support through April 2014.  This gives you two years and four months before you have to throw down for whatever's current at that time.
Windows 7 will give you a much better experience (dare I say more Mac-like?) than XP, as it seems to be better organized.  The Taskbar, for instance, has become more like the OS X Dock in that you can "pin" things to it in a straightforward manner, unlike XP's seldom-used Quick Launch traybar.
7's also built to take advantage of all the snazzy new hardware you now have.
But don't let me sell it to you.  It's really your call.
    Nate

  • Is Zen7 SP1 Agent Backwards compatible with Zen6.5 SP1 and SP2?

Looking at deploying the Zen7 SP1 agent, but I'm not certain of any
    caveats involved in doing so.
Netware 6.5 SP5 CPR, Zen6.5 SP2 on one server, SP1 on the other.
    Thank you for your time,

I think you need Zen7 on the servers if you're gonna use the Zen7 agent,
there is a compability matrix in the Zen7 docs on the Novell website. You
can use the Zen65 agent with Zen7 on the server.
