MS-8850 locking up my computer
i have a geforce2 ti (ms-8850) i downloaded the new drivers from nvidia and also from msi. my computer locks up when i run games with opengl support it doesn't always lock in the begining but within 30 seconds it will lock my computer up and i am forced to do a hard reboot. i would appreciate any assistance that can be offered
If you can get hold of 12.90 det drivers try them. I still use these for my Gf2. Newer det series had two many errors for the older cards.
Guru3d should still hold these drivers.
Try WHQL and non WHQL and see what happens.

Place the iOS device in Recovery Mode and then connect to your computer and restore via iTunes. The iPod will be erased.

If you restore from iCloud backup the apps will be automatically downloaded. If you restore from iTunes backup the apps and music have to be in the iTunes library since synced media like apps and music are not included in the backup of the iOS device that iTunes makes.
You can redownload most iTunes purchases by:
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store
Or maybe:
- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- Try on another computer
- If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

Photoshop CS6 locks up the computer while doing a few things.
I have been battling this issue since I installed CS6 on this machine. I have been able to reproduce this lock up consistantly using the Lighting Effects, and I can also get it to lock up while using the Lasso tool, and also setting guides, but those are less consistant. I have tried to switch the advanced graphics options around too. It is currently on normal though. I currently have the GeForce Drivers v. 320.14 installed, which at the time of this post is the most rtecent stable build. I have followed basically every post or suggestion I could find on the web to solve this issue, but nothing works as of yet. I have even gone so far as to try every GeForce driver from 295.73 to 320.14 with no luch at resolution. Some of the drivers let me get a little further with the lighting effects, but still eventually lock up the computer... Currently I have had to uninstall Photoshop and then re-install it just to get PDF export to work right, but even after updating to the newest version of PS, I still get these lockups.
Please let me know what I am missing here.

itunes locks up my computer every time I try to start it. This has happened with the last few updates so I have not used it.

Using After Effects CC locks up my computer
I've been having the most difficult time lately with Adobe software. I'll be working in After Effects CC, everything seems to be great, but there are points where it will start to slow my entire system to a crawl and then to the point I have to hard reboot.
Now this is a brand new Macbook Pro Retina, quad-core with 8Gigs of memory. I've installed this about a month ago. Because of this issue, I've lost my progress. I save as often as I can, especially when doing RAM previews.
Are there any suggestions that can be made to help this issue? I've ran all the updates I can find, is it because After Effects is consuming all my system memory and then locks up the computer? Would my OS or Adobe logs show what happened? If so, could someone help me find those logs?

WD Smartware locking up the computer
WD My Passport Ultra A few days ago I erased the drive with the utilities tool to start fresh. The drive firmware was updated as well. Initially, WD Smartware did not find the unit even though ejecting was an option. and the drive did not appear in Windows Explorer. I re-installed WD Smartare. WD Smartware now stops and locks up the computer during the backup process. The Smartware screen turns white. Sometimes when I try to “End Process” in Windows Task Manager, it restarts, but still does not complete the backup before locking up again. I bought the unit new at Best Buy I think October 2014. I installed and uninstalled shockwave a number of times but nothing seems to work. It continually locks up my computer. I always get an error message.....shockwave has stopped working...in my browsers, no matter which one i use. This is really getting tiring and I'm so frustrated.
I've researched and made adjustments according to what others think the problem is but it never works. What is going on? Do I have a program which is blocking it?...My computer is only a few years old and I have to say I never had this problem before.
I have the latest version. Should I try to get to an older version? Is there another program I can use. It doesn't matter if I'm playing games or just going to my home page. I get the error message and the computer locks up.
Any REAL working suggestions?I can't provide one because it's not one in particular. It happens when my home page opens (msn.com), when I'm on facebook, when I try to go to any page. In Chrome the message comes up stating Shockwave has stopped working; In Foxfire, I have the same error message with foxfire wording. It is nothing specific, nothing. I will uninstall it and try to find another program in it's place.

We have been successfully using CC for several months, then about 30 days ago suddenly when we tried to switch apps between dreamweaver, and Photoshop the computer went to a White screen and froze. This problem is completely repeatable, and we are at a complete loss to correct the problem. Any ideas? It doesnt do this when you switch withing Bridge and Photoshop, but with anythign else,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, CRASH!!
I am unable to get into the chat. I tried explorer and chrome and neither will allow us to access the chat. It continues to go around and around.

I have windows xp and when ever I go to a program that requires your browser to use the plugincontainer.exe it locks up my computer....when I am doing a simple search I don't have any problems. can I remove this file and still not have a problem with the browser?
This guy said it perfectly. I have much better things to do with my time than try to figure out how to reset all the icons I established over weeks of work. Your methodology Sucks, and the extra work you cause me Sucks! QUIT screwing up my settings!

There seem to be specific "trigger" websites that lock up my computer for about 1 minute. For example, the problem can always be reproduced by trying to log onto att.yahoo.com. After waiting about 1 minute, I regain control of my computer and the website opens. There are no error messages. So far the problem does not seem to repeat after the 1st lock-up until I reboot. When I reboot, the problem happens once more on that first hit to a trigger website. This problem has been happening for about a year now. Have cleared my cache but that has not fixed the problem. Have tried using an alternate browser, Chrome, and never see this problem. Does anyone have a solution short of changing my default browser to Chrome?
Boot the computer in Windows Safe Mode with network support (press F8 on the boot screen) as a test.

Do a malware check with several malware scanning programs on the Windows computer.
Please scan with all programs because each program detects different malware.

I have blocked popups, but Firefox sends me its own, new screens selling things related to what I was looking at, which are reason enough to switch browsers, and they lock up my computer.
Ok you already tried Firefox;s built in popup blocker. Not to surprising that it doesn't work, because writers stop producing code that is going to be blocked.
Blocking popups is much more effective using an extension like "Adblock Plus" with "EasyList (USA)" filter subscription that goes after ads and maybe some bad content as well, but its primary target is ads.

The USB port on the PSC2175V may be defective or the XP USB port is defective.
Can you try the PSC2175V on another computer?
Check the XP device manager for any problems, do other USB devices work ok?
