MS Access 2003 and Data Services 3.0

I want to access MS Access 2003 from Aqualogic Data Services 3.0. The documentation tells me that Aqualogic Data Services 3.0 supports MS Access 2003
I read the "Extending Database Support" from the Administration Guide to deploy the xml file ... I did it successful!
But I can't configure the data source in the console to point to Access2003. How can I do it?

Thank you Mike for the answer.
The aqualogic Data Services release 3 support MS Access 2003, as you can verify in "Relational Providers Included With ALDSP" in this manual:
http://edocs.bea.com/aldsp/docs30/admin/aldsp-wrapper-ext.html#wp1134932
In the http://localhost:7001/console, when I go to the "Create a New JDBC Data Source", only those DB appears in the Database Type: "adabas for z/OS, CICS/TS for z/OS, Cache, Cloudscape, DB2, DB2 for z/OS, Derby, Enterprise DB, FirstSQL, IMS/DB for z/OS, IMS/TM for z/OS, Informix, Ingres, MS SQL Server, MaxDB, MySQL, Oracle, PointBase, PostgreSQL, Progress, Sybase, VSAM for z/OS , Other".
But the "MS Access 2003" didn't appears in this menu. The MS-Access.jar file was copied into ALDSP\provider path, and another items was created succesfully as shown in the "Deploying the rational provider" in http://edocs.bea.com/aldsp/docs30/admin/aldsp-wrapper-ext.html#wp1136406
I wants to create the datasource for MSAccess 2003. How can I do it?

  • Installing BOE XI 3.1 and Data Services on same server, recommended or not?

I am fairly new to the BusinessObjects world.
I have been told that it is not recommended that both BOE and  Data Services exist on the same server.  I was just wondering if
there is any documentation (best practice) or technical reason why these two could not coexist on the same server so that I can provide that to our server administrators.
Thanks in advance for the assistance.
    -Abel Duran

    Hello,
you can do that for Test and Integration Environmenr but i would not recommend it on Production.
I noticed that not the RAM utilization is the "problem" with DS its more the Disk I/O. If you have the Filestore from BOE on the same physikal Disk as the JobServer from DS your Reportviewieng could be a bit slower.

  • Data Integrator and Data Services

What is the recommendations in Installing DQ with DI on the same box?
The documentation does not have a checklist on installing DQ and DI anywhere.
1.) Can DI and Data Services run on the same server? If they can run on the same server whatu2019s the specs of the server?
2.) Can Data Services take advantage of more then 4 gigs of memory?
Edited by: Peter Lo on Sep 23, 2008 6:34 PM

    Hi there,
There used to be Data Integrator and Data Quality.
However it has merged together under one platform, Data Services.
That means Data Services includes Data Integration and Data Quality together as one product.
So Data Integrator would still be around but it will fall under Data Services.

  • DI Integrator XI and Data Service Designer

    Hi all
I am playing with DI XI (11.7) now, but very soon we would have Data Service Designer (new version of DI which is called Data Service Designer). I'm just wondering what the difference is between DI Integrator 11.7 and Data Service Designer. The interface and object types are very different and a big surprise for me? Or I might ask what's new in Data Service Designer?
    Thanks for your help.

You will be very familiar with DataServices Designer. You will find more transforms - the data quality transforms - and a few menu items, flags etc. But really, DataServices is just a name change. For DQ customers things changed a lot.

  • OLE object error when using with Access 2003 and Adobe Reader X

I link to .pdf files in Access 2003 and since upgrading to Adobe Reader X yesterday, am unable to link to these files.  I receive an error stating "A problem occurred while accessing the OLE object". It goes on to tell me to verify that the file is where I say it is and that it is accessible, which it is.   I can go to that file in Adobe Reader and open it.

Disable the protection mode in the preferences of Adobe Reader.

  • What does my Mac need to run Access 2003 and SAM training CD

I'm enrolled in an intro database class using Microsoft Office Access 2003 and SAM 2003 Assessment and Training CD. Both require a PC, but I have Mac Book Pro 2. Would someone please explain to a PC dummy what my Mac would need to run these two applications or if I need to (gulp) purchase a PC. Mostly likely I'll be taking additional classes in the future. Thank you.

    Welcome to the Apple Forums.
You will need the following to Run MS Access and SAM 2003:
    1. An Intel Mac (You already have this)
    2. Leopard Operating System (You have Tiger), which contains boot camp to install Windows
    3. Windows XP or Windows Vista installation Disk (Please read the Boot Camp instructions/Guide)
    4. Microsoft Office 2003 or 2007 for Windows (which has MS Access)

  • Difference Between Data Services Designer and Data Services Workbench

    Hello All,
I am new to Data Services .
What is the difference between Data Services Designer and Data Services Workbench .
Am bit confused in the above two .
Please help me to understand the same.
    Thanks in advance.
    Aisurya

Workbench is used to create, display and modify the objects. It will display the source table data and we can see the logs of the job which we have executed and also we can see the status of a job. In bods 4.2 you can design the dataflow in workbench in previous release we don’t have that option but designer contains debugging option, you can write scripts,  it will support all databases; these option are not available in workbench. for more information refer this document:

  • After conecting to SQLexpress 2008r2 using ODBC, access 2003 and 2010 says conection failed.

After conecting to SQLexpress using ODBC MS access 2003 and 2010 says the conection failed with in the app. Not all users are having this issue. Unable to track down the cause. Any help would would be appearated.

With the miniscule of information you have given, it's not really possible to help you. At a very minimum, we need the complete error message you are getting, so that we can tell whether the reach the server and are denied access, or they don't even
    come that far.

  • Business Objects and Data Services on VMWare

My company has a requirement to deploy Business Objects 4.0 as well as Data Services.
We are going to be deploying them on Windows Server 2008 R2, hosted on a VMWare cluster.  I have reviewed the PAM, but my question is:
Will these run using SQL Server 2008 R2 as a database? I see "SQL Server 2008" and I am just curious whether R2 is also supported?
    Thanks.

    Hi,
SQL Server 2008 R2 is listed in the PAM for DS as Repo DB. For BI4 it is also working and supported. I installed it already on it.

  • Access 2003 and 2010 Side-by-Side App-V 5

I have an issue here where I have Access 2003 sequenced and Access 2010 sequenced but they will not install alongside each other.
Both deploy (using CM2012) individually OK.  But when deploying side-by-side I find that only one can be installed at once.
If Access 2003 is installed, when I select to install 2010 via the CM Software Centre it removes Access 2003.  If Access 2010 is installed first, when installing 2003 it removes 2010.
I would like both installed at the same time but this behaviour is puzzling me.  Has anyone else experienced this type of behaviour?
    Cheers

Do your packages all have the same Package GUID? Perhaps your sequencer snapshot was saved with the machine turned on so that all packages you are creating have the same GUID? If so, always start from a snapshot with the machine in a shut down state.

  • Dynamic Tables and Data Service

    hi :)
i have a dynamic table (with add/delete row) buttons,
one of the fields in each row, needs to populate the rest of the fields with first/last/address information.
i understand how the data service works for a single fields, is there a way to do this by adding/deleting rows?
how can i bind them? and how do i ensure that the proper row is populating?
    Thanks!

To get the instance of the subform that you are working on you can use this.parent.index. Now when addressing the field the occurance number is on the container subform and not on the field itself. So if you had a Page1 - Subform1 - Row - Object you would use Page1.Subform1.Row[instancenumber].object.rawValue
The only issue is the the [] are illegal in javascript so you can use the syntax:
    xfa.resolveNode("Page1.Subform1.Row[" + this.parent.index + "]").object.rawValue
    Make sense?
