MS Access Drivers with CF8 and OSX

I have working MS Access data source - files working with dev
ed. CF8 on XP. I just installed dev ed. of CF8 on OSX.
I don't see any available drivers for MS Access on OSX ....
is this possible to setup?
Can you download and install the drivers somehow?
Also - is there a way to setup MS Access data sources that
are already on my web site so the production files can be accessed
directly from CF8 dev? If so - How?

I am fairly sure that the .Net SDK files are COM-visible so that they could be referenced by a VBA app...

Many site issues can be caused by corrupt cookies or cache. In order to try to fix these problems, the first step is to clear both cookies and the cache.
Note: ''This will temporarily log you out of all sites you're logged in to.''
To clear cache and cookies do the following:
#Go to Firefox > History > Clear recent history or (if no Firefox button is shown) go to Tools > Clear recent history.
#Under "Time range to clear", select "Everything".
#Now, click the arrow next to Details to toggle the Details list active.
#From the details list, check ''Cache'' and ''Cookies'' and uncheck everything else.
#Now click the ''Clear now'' button.

What SMTP servers are compatible with CF8 and 9?

Hi all. In order to buy us time until we can upgrade our farm to CF10, what SMTP email servers can we use? The enterprise is going to Exchange 2010 and I understand CF8 and 9 are not compatible with that version of Exchange.

CF is not compatible with newer versions of Exchange for the purposes of <cfexchange> functionality, but it's fine as far as SMTP connectivity goes. SMTP is an independent standard, so does not change from version to version of Exchange.

Can I get some help with CF8 and Unix from this forum?

I did my dev in my local machine running windowsXP and CF8
In prod. environment, my CF8 runs in Unix and I'm not familiar with Unix at all.
My manager is out for awhile and I want to do this if I could without waiting for him because in windows it is very simple.
Here is what I did in windows and I think I should do the same in unix but unfortunately I don't know how:
In Windows environment I have done the following successfully and easy:
1. installed/moved a .exe file in 2 folders: 1. in cfx folder under Coldfusion8 folder and
2. and again in CFClasses folder under WEB-INF folder
2. Then in CF8 administrator I went to SERVER SETTINGS >> Java and JVM >> under ColdFusion Class Path, I put: c:\Coldfusion8\cfx\cfx_myexe.jar >> submit
3. Under CFX Tags >> clicked REGISTER Java CFX >> I put: cfx_myexe in Tag Name and the same in Class Name >>submit
Then when I go to my application, everything work as a charm!
How can I do these things in Unix?
When I logged into CF server in unix using my FTP FileZilla, I immediately see /space/users/www , so I'm in the root directory. I can't see anything above this directory
In windows, CFX is found under ColdFusion8 folder AND cfclasses is found under WEB-INF folder like this:
C:/ColdFusion8/www/WEB-INF/cfclasses
All my CF files for the application are on C:/Inetpub/www/myfolder/
So my questions are:
1. How can I access point 1 using my FTP to move my exe file to the right folders
2. Since I don't have CF administrator interface with Unix, how can I do point 2 and 3 above????
I have searched on this forum if someone had this problem in the past and also googled it but I got no result.

1) If the account you use to FTP to the site does not give you permissions to the ColdFusion instlation directories, you will need to ask permission from whomever in your organization provides those permissions.
2) You would run the same ColdFusion administrator tool. It is usually located at yourwebsite-domain/cfide/administrator/
If it is not located at this location, you need to ask whomever controls your ColdFusion server where it is located and how you should access it.
In otherwords, these are not general problems that we can help you with much. These are specific problems dealing with your organizaiton and how it has configured its systems and network.

G4 with OS9 and OSX - HELP!!!

Hello, I have a G4 Powermac which has been running 10.4.11 for some time now.
Since this is a dual boot machine, it has been connected to an older drum scanner for several years (this scanner ONLY works in OS9). I haven't had to boot this machine in 9 for about a year, but I had to yesterday and now it will not BOOT UP AT ALL. I tried booting with the shift key to no avail. I booted up from the system disk, ran apple HW test which found no HW issues. at the moment, the machine has a blank blue screen. any ideas??!!

Hi! Try booting with the option key down and select the OS you want from the icon that come up in the bootloader. It's slow so be patient until it's ready for you to select the correct volume you want to startup from. Alternatively the "x" key down at startup forces an OSX boot if a valid OSX system is found. Using external drive with windows and osx 10.5

I have formated an external drive using disk utility as Fat 32. Mac osx sees it fine but windows does not. I used partition magic to format it as fat 32 and windows sees it fine, but osx still sees it by the old name and doesn't see the files I loaded on it. I did it twice from partition magic with the same result. the mac knows the right amount of free space but doesn't see the directory, it sees the old directory from the mac formatting? Why is partition magic not overwriting the mac formatting, and why won't windows see the mac formatting. HHHEEEELLLPP Please

I solved the problem by formatting the drive in OSX using mac extended which cleared the ms dos partition the mac created, then I used Partition Magic and created a fat 32 volume. Windows and Leopard see it fine now. Why the Fat 32 formatting from Leopard did not work I can not tell you. A bug maybe or maybe my install has a bug.

I am having an even more basic problem in that PC Suite doesn't even recognise N70
I have downloaded the latest PC suite, it works fine with 9500.
USB connection detected the N70 and 'seemed' to load OK, but PC suite just says ' No phone connecte'
Using the connetion option and it just waits with the hour glass.
Anyone have any idease on how to resolve?

When you "introduce a new phone to Nokia PC Suite" for the first time, it loads the drivers for the phone with DKU-2 cable. It can take several minutes before PC loads the drivers, so wait for a long time. Also I think you have to chose a USB mode in the device screeen when you connect the cable, make sure you choose PC Suite mode.

Slow Admin Api with CF8 and 100ish sandboxes

Hi
I am trying to automate the creation of sandboxes for my
cluster and have a set of scripts that use the admin api. The thing
is that it is really slow, taking over 5 seconds to return function
calls. With 2Gb of ram and 64 cores available to the jrun process I
can't see any reason this would be that slow. Any ideas how I could
speed this up or manage the sandboxes in a simpler way across a
cluster.

For anyone else that might stumble accross this, I haven't
been able to find anything in the admin api of CF8 that would
facilitate this. I'm not sure if it's possible with some Java
classes, but then I can't imagine getting the coldfusion server
settings (DSNs' etc..) would be possible.
If anyone knows otherwise, feel free to let me know. I'll
take this as my own answer for now though.

Using remote desktop web access (RDWEB) with remoteapps and a traditional remote desktop

I configured windows 2012 r2 remote desktop services and remote desktop web access (rdweb) and was able to click the icon on the rdweb page to log on to a remote desktop session. When I published a remoteapp program, the remote desktop icon went away. How
do I get it back? Do I need to publish remote desktop as a remoteapp so users can both use remote apps and log on to a traditional remote desktop session?

Fastest option for HD expansion with Photoshop and OSX

Hey guys,
Of late I've noticed my Mac Pro Dual 2.0GHZ with 9GB of Ram is running quite slow, both the system and with adobe applications (CS3).
I suspect its due to my current hard drive status, 250gb drive with 80gb free space. So I was thinking of setting up another drive or drives to transfer media onto and leave the boot disc for apps only.
My question is, whats going to give me the best performance, as I want to use the new drive as a scratch disk for photoshop as well? I was thinking something along the lines of a RAID 0 with 2x250gb drives... Does that sound like the best option or should I go bigger?

There is a simple trick for doing this.
1. Uninstall all your photoshop CC & Edge Reflow CC. (Make Sure you delete all the folders in C: drive and temp files.).
2. Once after step1 Install photoshop CC & Edge Reflow CC Normally.
3. Now download the Edge Connect Plugin from
4. Once run the plugin and now you will find a reflow folder in your (applications folder on Mac) and in your (Program Files in Windows).
5. Open the folder " reflow/plug-ins/generator/ " and copy " reflow.generate " folder.
6. Now, Open Photoshop CC folder and go to plug-ins/Generator/
7. Paste the copied folder here and restart your Pc or Mac.
8. Now everything should be alright.

I would like to know how to format my ipod in fat 32 and that it works in both mac and pc.

You need to connect the iPod to a Windows PC and run "Restore" from the updater. It will format your iPod but you'll be able to use it with Windows and OSX.

What's physically different in the way OS9 and OSX displays?

I used to have an iMac G4 (at work, in the USA) delivered with OS9 and OSX. Looking at the display under OSX made me tired and nervous, whereas using it under OS9 did not! No joke. (I find OSX a very good system and have no psychological bareer; it must be something physically different. What is it?)
Now I'm using a newer iMac delivered with OSX only and am suffering. I do not have that problem when looking at the LCD screen of another DELL PC at work or at a Thinkpad. However, with CRT-monitors I can easily distinguish if it runs at 72 Hz (=torture) or 85 Hz (O.K.).
If anyone could at least explain me the phenomenon with the iMac LCD, I'd be grateful...

You may just need to calibrate your display's color
profile. Apple menu -> System Preferences ->
Displays.
This helps a bit but does not seem to solve the basic problem. Too bad I can't run OS9 on the same machine and adjust the color profiles under both systems so it looks similar, and then compare how it feels to work with both systems...
