MS C++ runtime library error at start up

Im getting an error when i try to start up photoshop.
This is the error:
Runtime error!
Program D:/photoshop etc etc
This application has requested the runtime to terminate it in an unusual  way. Please contact the application's support team for more information
I have it since yesterday, when i had to make a necessary system recovery after a fake alert trojan screwed up my wallpaper options. Anyway, the things i tried so far to solve this problem:
-reinstall Photoshop CS5
-reinstall Microsoft visual C++ package
-another system recovery to an earlier date then the one i used before
-put specific files back from a back up
-turn off all start up programs with msconfig
-install older versions of visual c++ (2005/2008, currently using 2010)
I've searched high and low on the net trying to find a solution but no results. At this point i'm getting frustrated and tired because i use photoshop daily. I like to draw a lot and such. People suggested that i delete a stat file somewhere in ....user/appdata/adobe/online service.. map but i dont have the online service map. I already tried tons of things. Normally i would consider reinstalling windows entirly but i did that hardly 3 weeks ago and i think i ran out of activation opportunties. My last chance would be to format C and use my back up to put back files but i don't want to do it unless it is ABSOLUTELY necessary.
Thanks for your help in advance, i really appreciate it.

    Thanks,

For general advice see Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates.
The steps in the second box are a guide to removing everything related to iTunes and then rebuilding it which is often a good starting point unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach. Review the other boxes and the list of support documents further down page in case one of them applies.
Your library should be unaffected by these steps but there is backup and recovery advice elsewhere in the user tip.

  • Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library Error in T430S during HP printer install

I just bought a T430S Windows 8 and I'm having problems installing the software and drivers for my HP Photosmart D-110-a printer. I've owned the printer for a year and it was no problem installing the software that it came with on my previous Dell Windows 7. Every time I try to install from the CD-Rom or download the software from HP, I get a Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library Error message. Please someone help!
By the way, I am able to print to the machine because I think HP printer driver was preloaded on the Start screen from Lenovo. Is it possible the reason why I can't install the software that the my HP printer came with, is because HP driver was preloaded? The issue of not being able to install the full software, is that I can't monitor ink levels or scan items from the computer.

It looks to me like HP never made a windows8 driver for that printer. You might read this:

  • Something is Causing ReaderX Update to C++ Runtime Library Error AdobeARM.exe

Anytime Adobe Reader tries to update, on login, periodically, or manually the error Visual C++ Runtime Library Error appears. I am using Adobe Reader 10.1.1. I have tried letting Adobe regenerate the Adobe.ARM.exe file located in C:\Program Files\Common Files\Adobe\ARM\1.0\AdobeARM.exe. I am using Windows XP Professional SP3.
This started when after it ran an automatic update it started to defrag that took way too long so I forced shutdown that obviously corrupted some file somewhere which leads to this error. In a new Windows profile the error is not present but I am not willing just yet to move all of my files to a new user account because one third party application has a bug.

Thanks for trying out the suggestion.
Since, you mentioned that the issue is not reproducible when you switch to another account, could you try one more thing.
    1. Open Start > Run
    2. Type "%temp%"
    3. In the folder that appears, delete the following files: AdobeARM.log, AdobeARM_NotLocked.log, ARMUI.ini
    4. Try initiating an update transaction again from within Reader by clicking on Help > Check For Updates
    Hope this works.

  • Visual C++ runtime library error when generating printed documentation from RH9

I just upgraded a project from RH 7 to RH 9. I tried generating printed documentation in Word from it, but as soon as the Printed Documentation dialog opened, a Visual C++ Runtime Library error displayed. RoboHelp stopped working and I had to restart.
I tried using one of the sample projects -- same thing happened.
I then created a brand-new project. This time, opening the Printed Documentation dialog worked. I selected "Generate Word Doc" and the .docx extension, since I have Word 2010,  and tried to generate printed documentation. However, the following message then displayed: Cannot find Microsoft Word installed on your system.
    So I have two questions:
    - How can I avoid crashing RoboHelp when generating printed documentation?
    - How can I ensure that RoboHelp finds the Word 2010 installation on my system?
    Thanks for any help!
OK, just played around a bit more and I was able to help myself on the first question:
    - I created a new Printed Documentation Layout in the Single Source Layouts pane, and from there I was able to generate .pdf files, without encountering the Visual C++ runtime error.
    - But the "Cannot find Microsoft Word installed on your system." msg still pops up when I try to generate .docx files. (When I generate .doc files, they have no content.)
    Message was edited by: mizotto

First the fact that the problem is with old layouts suggest they were using an old template.
The PDF creation relies on a Word document being created in the background. The fact that you cannot generate a good doc or docx makes it odd that you get a PDF. The PDF is OK I take it?
I'm wondering if you have not applied the 901 patch and are running Word 2010 64 bit?

  • Adobe Audition 3.0 Microsoft C++ runtime library error

I need help with this error
I've successfully installed Audition 3.0 on my computer and unfortunately, whenever I try to open the program, an error appears which says there is a Microsoft C++ Runtime library error.
    Can you help me this?

There may be some information in this thread on the Audition CS5.5, CS6 & CC part of the forum which will help you.
    MSVCR7I.dll
I recently had some similar problems with running another software and also installing an upgrade to yet another. In my case it was with MSVCR110.dll missing. Having downloaded the MS Redistributable from http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=30679 when I installed it it gave me the option to Repair which worked.

  • Runtime Library Error message

Am having issues with using Adobe Reader X. Have been getting the Runtime Library Error message box. What do I need to do to resolve this issue?

    Pat,
Thank you for responding. The computer I'm having issues with is a Windows
XP, SP2-SP3 system. It seems that the error message actually connects the
problem to Internet Explorer. I by-passed IE and downloaded Firefox and
Adobe Reader seems to be running fine now through Firefox.

  • Setup with MS Visual C++ Runtime Library Error, Win7/CS5

    Hio All,
It's driving me crazy here trying to get my Photoshop and my Adobe Production Suite CS5 working.  I had an Alienware computer with Windows 7 64-bit and it installed perfectly.  Now my new computer is a Xeon E5-2660, with 32GB of RAM, an ASUS Z9-PE-D8 WS motherboard with a Radeon HD 5870 1GB VRAM video card (same video card on my Alienware). I did a fresh Win7 64bit Professional install, all goes well.  I'm also installing other programs and they all go well.  It's when I install CS5 (but really Photoshop is my biggest concern since I need it for freelance work) and sometimes RIGHT at the end of the third disc installation at 99% (installing the Language Pack for ENG) it crashes.  Sometimes it doesn't, and goes through perfectly.  Either case, when I open any Adobe CS5 suite program (except for Bridge), it would crash immediately with a dialogue box saying
"Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library" -- Runtime Error!
    Program: C:\Pro...(truncated)
This application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an unusual way.  Please contact the application's support team for more information.
And that's it, the program logo doesn't even launch, just this box.  After hours and hours of trying different settings, I found out was if I disabled the service "Windows Management Instrumentation" in msconfig, the dialogue box would go away and anay CS5 product would launch without a hitch.  But, it leaves other programs that use that service unable to launch as well, and Windows Defender is the biggest one that uses that service.
I've searched the internet and hundreds of other threads relating to Visual C++ error here on this forum, but none give a definitive answer to why my computer may keep crashing.  I've reformatted and reinstalled CS5 over and over again...still these crashes...Please help in anyway!!

Thanks much for checking it out and helping!

The registration shouldn't have anything to do with saving a PDF but I tried that and it didn't work... Thanks for the reply though! This is what's frustrating me so much is that there is seemingly no difference with the software from day to day but, Adobe has simply - "derrrp" - forgotten how to write to PDF and in it's own confusion tells Windows that it needs to shut down. It's also frustrating having to resort to these forums for answers because they're not in real time like a phone call or chat. If I could just talk to someone from Adobe about it, since it is their product, I could have tried that option hours (or days, really) ago and have already gone through a number of other options by now instead of being back at square one..... again.
I mean, for christ sake, I even tried a system restore in case I had mistakenly downloaded a font, brush, etc. that corrupted some files - didn't help anything.

  • During the installation of iTune update received error message C runtime Library error 7 1114, R6034. Unable to now open my itunes. How do I fix this?

During the update of iTunes to my desktop, I received the error message: C:runtime error. R6034 Error 7 1114. What does this mean and how do I fix it?
Not that computer savvy so please walk me through the fix in simple terms. Thanks

    Hey lucky scruffy,
Thanks for the question. I understand that you are experiencing issues with iTunes for Windows. The following article outlines the error message you are receiving and a potential resolution:
iTunes 11.1.4 for Windows: Unable to install or open
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS5376
Some Windows customers may experience installation issues while trying to install or open iTunes 11.1.4.
    Symptoms may include:
"The program can't start because MSVCR80.dll is missing from your computer"
"iTunes was not installed correctly. Please reinstall iTunes. Error 7 (Windows Error 126)”
"Runtime Error: R6034 - An application has made an attempt to load the C runtime library incorrectly"
"Entry point not found: videoTracks@QTMovie@@QBE?AV?$Vector@V?$RefPtr@VQTTrack@@@***@@$0A@VCrashOnOverf low@@***@@XZ could not be located in the dynamic link library C:\Program Files(x86)\Common Files\Apple\Apple Application Support\WebKit.dll”
    Resolution
Follow these steps to resolve the issue:
    Check for .dll files
    1. Go to C:\Program Files (x86)\iTunes and C:\Program Files\iTunes and look for .dll files.
    2. If you find QTMovie.DLL, or any other .dll files, move them to the desktop.
    3. Reboot your computer.
Note: Depending on your operating system, you may only have one of the listed paths.
    Uninstall and reinstall iTunes
    1. Uninstall iTunes and all of its related components.
    2. Reboot your computer. If you can't uninstall a piece of Apple software, try using theMicrosoft Program Install and Uninstall Utility.
    3. Re-download and reinstall iTunes 11.1.4.
    Thanks,
    Matt M.
