Ms exchange activesync problem when switching networks

i've noticed that when i switch networks (i.e. go from ny to sf), i land and set my phone from airplane mode to active, my iphone does not sync with my company's exchange server. it gives me a connection error. i then have to do a reset of the phone and it works fine.
this also occurs when i switch from 3G to edge and vice versa. i have to do a hard reset of the phone in order to get mail to work again. this doesn't occur with my gmail account, just my MS Exchange activesync.
anyone else notice this?

by the way, i'm running 2.0.1 firmware and this was not a problem with 2.0 firmware.

  • SBS 2011; Exchange ActiveSync problems in the middle of a migration

    Hi
    We're in the middle of a migration from SBS 2003 to SBS 2011 and are stuck in the lengthy process of moving users' mailboxes.
    At this point, I have about 20 percent of the users' email on the SBS 2011 box, and the rest still on the SBS 2003 box.
    Right now I have to quickly deal with an issue that's cropped up with Exchange ActiveSync:
    I ran the Connectivity Analyzer for a user (this one's box had been migrated) and got the error below. By the looks of the error, I don't think it matters where the mailbox happens to reside ...
    The SBS 2011 box has been set up using a migration install and the procedures listed in the MS migration docs.
    At the rate we're going, it's still going to take a while to migrate these mailboxes. (The fact that they began tonight was actually an accident.) If mobile users can't get their mail, I'm going to have a big mess on my hands ...
    What do I need to do to get this running properly for all users?
    Thanks
    CL

    Hi --
    Neither of the Exchange servers is publicly listed as the mail handler for this domain. Mail is preprocessed by a cloud spam filtering service before coming down. So I expect no changes in MX records -- not even a change in the spam filter's delivery IP
    address, since that points to my firewall. I'll forward SMTP traffic to the new server when the time comes.
    I was told by MS that moving the mailboxes would not disrupt anything as long as both SBS boxes were up and running. And despite what the Connectivity Analyzer showed, people in this office have been receiving email on their mobile phones all day. I've had
    a few sporadic reports of people supposedly not getting email on their smartphones, but I can't see how anything I did (basically just move mailboxes at this point) could allow some people's phones to get mail while others' can't, when everyone was getting
    mail yesterday.
    I also have an odd report from someone who claims that his mobile phone is processing email just fine, but his MacBook running Entourage suddenly can't connect.
    Oh well ... The day is over (at least for the workers). Hopefully by the time the workers return on Monday, I'll be back to having just one SBS box on the network.
    The mailboxes are being moved A LOT faster than any of the documents I read warned me they would. One document said that a 75 GB database could take close to 48 hours to transfer. And this server's Exchange database was 67 GB ... But last night's
    "accident" (I thought I was only prepping a new database when in fact the machine was actively moving email into it) resulted in about 40% of the mailboxes being completely moved by 8 a.m.. And since 5 p.m., when I restarted the move requests,
    the machine has completed the moves of about 20% more mailboxes. So I expect this part to be over probably by early morning. (The ones that remain are the really big ones -- still, after I spent a week doing mailbox housekeeping.)
    I was also warned about the lengthy conversion requirements for the public folders. I transferred those last weekend. The whole process was over with in less than four hours. Go figure ...
    (The public folder transfer did have an annoying side effect -- I kept receiving warning after warning via email from the SBS 2003 box about a high number of items in Exchange's send queues ...)
    Thanks

  • Event Code Error when switching networks

    Although I am running a standalone version of P6 on my laptop, I continually receive event code errors when I switch between two networks.  This often happens when I need to switch from a client network to my mobile hotspot.  Or, if I'm away from laptop for any length of time and it 'goes to sleep' without having closed out of P6, when I return I will have an event code error that requires me to close and then restart P6.
    I'm running Windows 7 SP1, Firefox 24.0, P6 Release 7.0.0 (Build 00000092)
    Any help is greatly appreciated.

    Hi,
    In regards to the problem when the computer goes to sleep, if you look in the event viewer you will see that Windows is dropping the network connection - not sure of any other workaround to this than disabling the sleep/hibernate function.
    As for the problem when you switch between networks, other than making sure you log out before making the network switch the only thing I can think of would be to try and make sure the connection is using 'localhost' or possibly '127.0.0.1' instead - this is in the vague hope that these connections will hold true even when the network behind the scenes is changing (this also assumes SQL Server, changing this for an Oracle XE database would be a bit different)
    Good luck.

    Alex

  • T400: Internet does not work when switching networks unless reboot?

    Hi everyone,
    I can't seem to establish an internet connection when I switch networks (e.g., internet at work, then at home). It gives me an error saying "limited connectivity" or failed to renew IP. This happens for both wired and wireless connections.
    I tried turning off the firewall (comodo internet security) along with the windows firewall. I tried letting windows handle all my internet connections. Yet the error still happens. So I just have to simply reboot my laptop, and everything works 100%.
    I never had an issue like this with other laptops. Could this possibly have something to do with some of the bundled Lenovo software? I disabled most (if not all) of them since I barely use them.
    Thanks for your help.  This is my 1st thinkpad, and I'm enjoying it so far.

    Hi gatorman1122,
    I had a similar problem with my T400.  What wifi card do you have installed?
    I had an Intel 5300.  Networking was OK with XP Pro installed, but messed up with either Vista Ultimate 32-bit or Vista Business 64-bit installed.  All were Lenovo OS images.  I tried 2 different 5300s.
    I only saw the problem with wifi, but basically if I changed access points or changed from wired to wireless, the first attempt to use the (new) access point would fail to get an address.  An immediate reboot would cause it to succeed.
    I finally got the issue escalated to a 2nd-tier tech.  He sent me a 5100 to try. That fixed it.  I doubt it is a hardware issue.  It is most likely a Vista/Intel/Lenovo software issue/conflict.  IMNSHO, ThinkPad wifi w/Vista is a mess.  One of the most fundamental laptop features should work much better than this.  Many folks have T-series wifi problems and Lenovo seems to be ignoring it.
    Just to add to the excitement, I told a friend buying two new T400s to order 5100s to avoid the problem.  He did, and got the machines with XP installed.  They both exhibited the same bad behavior    Once he updated XP and all the Lenovo stuff, they started to work OK and have stayed OK.  Grrrr.....

  • Problem when switch wifi to 3G or 3G to wifi

    Hi,
    I recently bought the iPad 64 wifi + 3G. I face a problem when I want to switch wifi to 3G network or the reverse. I do it through the parameters window. The wifi or 3G indicators do appear but then when I launch safari, no connexion is madfe and the following error message appear :
    "No cellular data ..."
    What can I do ?
    Plus I have problem connecting when both wifi and 3G are on.
    The ipad should manage this easily. That's key for its use.
    Thanks !

    If both cellular and wifi are on and connected, the iPad will use wifi first and only default to 3G if the wifi connection is lost. In setting you can turn wifi and 3g (cellular) off and on individually. Not infrequently a wifi connection will be show by the icon but in reality there really is no connection. You can check by going into Setting>Network>the right hand arrow by the network that may be connected. If the IP address starts with a 169 you are not really connected. There are many discussion on the forum about wifi problems.

  • Nokia E6 Exchange ActiveSync Problem: Unable to Sy...

    Hi,
    I am having problem with my Nokia e6 Exchange ActiveSync. I want to view/access my Google Calendar events in Nokia e6 calendar and Google Accounts in my phone's phonebook.
    For this I went to Exchange ActiveSync and  entered my gmail address in Mail address and then entered my gmail again for Username and then entered the password as well. After the setup was complete, it started loading all the inbox messages. However, when I went to Calendar on my Nokia e6, nothing could be seen from my Google Calendar and same happened with the contacts as well.
    Guys, would you please me solve this problem.
    Thanks,
    Anvin

    Hi Anvin,
    Thanks for the feedback.
    During the Exchange Active Sync setup you are reminded to not use any other sync method to sync contacts once the service is et up. Also after selecting contacts you are asked what to do with synced contacts, either keep or delete. You should choose keep.
    During the first sync after setup the 'normal' contacts will get synchronized to your Google account. You will see them if you log in to http://contacts.google.com and as these are now part of your Google account they will be removed when you delete the Exchange Active Sync mailbox. You can sync you old contacts back after you removed the mailbox, but will loose any new additions as they are synced and kept in your Google account which in fact makes sense.
    Hope this helps,
    Kosh

  • HT6114 Delaying problem when switching desktop

    After upgrading to Mavericks v10.9.2 Update my "Macbook pro Retina, 15-inch, Early 2013" is delaying when switching desktops or switching to mission control. An overall delay problems occured. I need help!

    First off, I meant to title this "When switching spaces application window is not showing."
    Just in case anyone else runs into this problem or any other weirdness with switching between spaces, the answer seems to be trashing the com.apple.dock.plist file and then restarting the dock. The preferences file can evidentially get corrupted and create some problems. Spaces does not have it's own plist file but stores it's data in the dock's plist file. Be warned that this will reset all of your dock preferences including which apps you have on the dock.

  • Exchange ActiveSync Problem

    Hi,
    since yesterday I have a problem with Exchange Ative Sync account on my Z30 / OS Version 10.2.1.2141.
    Out of nowere noticed lost connection.
    I have deleted and tried to setup again.
    After I put all informations (user/pass/domain/server etc...as I did many times before), I have a small window with "Accounts / Checking for supported services and policy information" but in the end I get " Accounts / The Settings for your account are incorrect. Change your settings and try again".
    It's my personal phone, used for work e-mail.
    My organisation uses Ipones and also Android with Touchdown as e-mail client.
    I put also Touchdown on my Blackberry and is working !!
    I am not doing any additional setting than I am doing for Blackberry Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync setup (setup is almost similar : user, pass,domain, server etc...).
    Any advice about where could be the problem with standard ActiveSync setup ?

    That's the catch. Your IT department controls the server you're trying to connect to. You have to check with them to troubleshoot this issue. I have a personal q10 using activesync for work email. At one time it wasn't supported. They enabled something and it worked.

  • How can I avoid Thunderbird timeouts when switching network connections?

    I'm using Thunderbird 24.4.0 but this problem goes back many releases.
    This problem happens when I switch from an external WiFi network to my company's internal LAN (ethernet).
    I'm connected to the company's email server via WiFi from home and can get and receive email no problem. I then turn off the WiFi, put the laptop to sleep, take it to work, wake it up, and plug in the Ethernet cable. I click on Get Mail and in the status bar at the bottom it says "Connecting to [servername] ..." and stays that way until I get a notification that Thunderbird timed out. I click on Get Mail again and this time it says "Connected to [servername] ..." and it gets my email. (It may have briefly said "Connecting to" prior to "Connected to" but I think I've only seen that once.)
    Why does it never work the first time but has to timeout before it will successfully connect, and what can I do to get it to connect without having to go through a timeout cycle?
    Thanks,
    --Steve

    Networking is an area of some frustration. Recently, some bug reports are seeing progress. The place to be to test these fixes is in development builds

  • XSLT problem when switching to JDK 1.4

    Hi,
    I have used Xalan for transforming XML into HTML under JDK 1.3.1 but when I switch to 1.4.1 I get problems with attributes in the HTML part of my XSL file. I know that Xalan is included in 1.4 and apparently something has changed...
    Java code ---------------------------------------------------------------:
    System.setProperty("javax.xml.transform.TransformerFactory", "org.apache.xalan.processor.TransformerFactoryImpl");
    TransformerFactory tFactory = TransformerFactory.newInstance();
    String xmlFile = "C:/<<path>>/test.xml";
    String xslFile = "C:/<<path>>/test.xsl";
    String htmlFile = "C:/<<path>>/test.html";
    StreamSource xmlSource = new StreamSource(xmlFile);
    StreamSource xsltSource = new StreamSource(xslFile);
    StreamResult htmlResult = new StreamResult(new BufferedOutputStream(new FileOutputStream(htmlFile)));
    // Get a XSLT transformer
    Transformer transformer = tFactory.newTransformer(xsltSource);
    // Do the transform
    transformer.transform(xmlSource, htmlResult);
    XSL code ---------------------------------------------------------------:
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="ISO-8859-1"?>
    <xsl:stylesheet version="1.0" xmlns:xsl="http://www.w3.org/1999/XSL/Transform">
    <xsl:output method="html"/>
    <xsl:template match="/">
    <html>
    <body>
    <table>
    <tr><td>some text</td></tr>
    </table>
    </body>
    </html>
    </xsl:template>
    </xsl:stylesheet>
    If I add any attribute to the HTML part of the XSL file I get a fat stack trace.
    Changing to (added a "bgcolor" attribute):
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="ISO-8859-1"?>
    <xsl:stylesheet version="1.0" xmlns:xsl="http://www.w3.org/1999/XSL/Transform">
    <xsl:output method="html"/>

    <html>
    <body bgcolor="#0000FF">
    <table>
    <tr><td>some text</td></tr>
    </table>
    </body>
    </html>
    </xsl:template>
    </xsl:stylesheet>
    will give me:

         Anyone got any ideas??

    I took a look in the release notes for the version of JAXP that I had previously downloaded and used with JDK 1.3:
    Specification Version: 1.2
    Reference Implementation (RI) Version: 1.2.0-EA1
    I could also find this information:
    Version 1.4 of the Java Platform
    To use this version of the Java XML release with version 1.4 of the Java platform, you must place them in
    <platformLocation>/jre/lib/endorsed
    They must exist in this location to override earlier versions of the Xalan libaries that are a standard part of the 1.4 platform. Because of that special requirement, it is not possible to specify these libraries using the -classpath option on the java/javac command line.
    Putting my xalan.jar (and xerces.jar) in a new folder named "endorsed" as specified actually made it work!
    I still have one question... Is there another way to specify the new version of xalan without putting it in this folder, I do not have control over the target platform and it would be better to use some kind of JVM setting if there is one?

  • Problem when switching from https to http on Safari

    I am using a Safari browser and try to switch from https to http within the same web application.
    The Safari browser is configured so that on Safari->Preferences->Security the check box "Ask before sending a non-secure form to a secure website" is checked.
    When using the Safari browser in my web application and going from an https page to an http page, the browser shows an (expected) dialog box asking the user whether he wants to send a non secure form. Clicking Ok (twice) causes the following problematic dialog box to appear :
    Safari can't open the specified address;
    Safari can't open "(null)" because Mac OS X doesn't
    recognise Internet addresses starting with "(null)"
    How can I avoid this problem without having to uncheck the above mentioned check box in Safari->Preferences->security.

    I have somehow a similar problem,too. My site is in https upon login which maintains some session data. One of the features of my site is the file upload (servlet) which does some batch processing. Since my https session terminates(timeout)upon uploading, I resorted to switching the link to an http session using
    File Upload
    When I do "session.getAttribute('data')" in my servlet after being called by the "upload.jsp", a NullPointerException is thrown at that particular line.
    My question:
    1. Upon uploading of file/data via https, is there a maximum bytes that it can only process? My file is just less than 1MB and it terminates the session. How do I go about it? Should I switch it then to an http?
    2. If I switch from https to an http session, SSL session data can not be retrieved from an http session?
    Thanks!

  • Codec Problem when switching computers

    I am having a problem, where I copy my .fcp and all the videos that are with it, to another computer.
    I have a macbook with leopard.
    the other computer is a 2ghz core duo imac (the white ones)which has tiger
    It says it cant find the codec.
    Also, sometimes thef iles arent connected, when i try and reconnect them, it says the times don't match up. Im literally using the same files, nothing is different.
    Any help on what to do to switch computers to work on things would be very helpful

    DX50 is a DivX format and is not a natively supported codec. the trouble is that the Mac where it plays properly has had a third party codec installed which enables that file type, whereas the other one hasn't
    Download and install Perian form http://www.perian.org then see if it doesn't automaigaclly start working

  • Currency exchange rate problem when posting to CO-PA

    Hi Experts,
    we get error when posting a credit memo saying that there is a missing exchange rate between MXN and USD. The document currency is MXN (Mexican peso), company code currency is EUR and operating concern currency is USD. The document posts to CO-PA.
    We have exchange rates for MXN/EUR and EUR/USD but not for MXN/USD.
    How the system recalculates the currencies?
    Do we just have to enter the MXN/USD rate or is there any other customizing we should check?
    In country global parameters for Mexico in fields 'index-based currency' and 'hard currency' is entered USD. Does this matters to this problem?
    Thank you,
    Michal

    Hi Michal,
    concerning your quastion pls consider follwing:
    Usually the foreign currency will be the  transaction currency of the sender document in case you are dealing with
    billing documents.
    However it's also possible that the amount in operating concern currency is translated based on company code curreny.
    In  this case the PA line item will then contain the company code currency  as foreign currency.
    This translation logic is described in the  note 429517.
    I hope, it could you help to understand translation logic.

    Try following the instructions here to backup and do a clean reload of your device software. http://bbry.lv/cKy9A0 if you get the same result then I would suggest contacting your service provider and have them escalate your issue to RIM.

  • E7 Symbian Belle Exchange ActiveSync Problem Greek...

    I recently updated my phone's SW to Symbian Belle and have the following problem.
    When replying  to a mail received in Greek language and although during writing (in Greek) all seems ok, after sending the mail the text is not readable (some sort of ascii? characters appear) neither by the recipient nor in my phone (send folder)
    Does anyone knows how to fix the problem?
     Thank you!

    If the warning came during the update and the phone no longer works you may have to take to a Nokia Care Point to be reflashed, if you can start the phone with a Three finger reset, try to reinstall Belle. If the phone has started misbehaving after completing the update, then as mentioned before, do a reset and reinstall Belle.
    Good Luck
