Need free OST viewer tool to help to view OST files without connecting to MS Exchange Server and MS Outlook.

    Hi Howard,
As I know, Microsoft does not provide any kind of inbuilt tool or free software to only view OST file, even without the connectivity with exchange server (Offline).
Try SysTools OST Viewer freeware which helps you to view all OST file save at your system in an easy way, whether you want to see the attachments or other items of OST file.
Note: This is a free inbuilt utility, but try it on your own risk as I am not much aware about it and its working. But this tool sounds good according to your requirement and hopefully it would give you 100% satisfaction.
    Thanks

  • Sync iPhone with work Outlook (Exchange Server) and home Outlook

    Hi all,
I love my new iPhone 3G!
There is just one main thing remaining that I need it to do in order to fully replace my previous Windows Mobile phone functionality:
I need it to keep my work Outlook's contacts and calendars synchronized with my home Outlook (Outlook 2003 on Windows XP PC). Note: I do not want separate sets of work and personal contacts and/or calendar items, since I want all contacts and calendar items in both systems (differentiate by the Outlook category field).
With my previous Windows Mobile phone, it would sync with my work Exchange account (via wireless ActiveSync), and then resolve this with my local/home PC's Outlook when connected to my PC (using the local version of ActiveSync). When done, any contact or calendar change made at work, on my phone, or on my home PC would eventually be synchronized with all 3 systems (i.e., phone, work Outlook, and home Outlook).
The new iPhone 3G first beautifully sync'd to my local/home Outlook with iTunes 7.7. Then, when I configured my work Exchange ActiveSync with contacts and calendar sync on, it unfortunately cleared those sync'd items. Now the iPhone is beautifully sync'd with my work Outlook via Exchange ActiveSync, but iTunes will no longer allow my local sync. Thus, any changes at work or on the iPhone are not reflected at home
I researched this a little, and I see that the Apple MobileMe service may be able to help me. Can anyone tell me if it will allow me to sync the exact same items with my local Outlook, the iPhone, and directly/indirectly with my work Outlook (via Exchange ActiveSync)?
    Thanks in advance,
    Steve

I'm excited to finally sync my work email with my iPhone. Our IT didn't support it and we work off of an Exchange server. I, too, was nervous about which contacts to sync. While I want my work email, I don't need my contacts and would rather have mine from my mac at home. Unfortunately, you can only do one at a time. The following paragraph is from a c net review. Find the entire article here (the part about the Exchange Server is about 1/2 way down):

//Once you're ready to go, the iPhone will sync your Outlook e-mail, contacts, and calendar. Be advised that while the iPhone can support multiple POP3 accounts at once (two Yahoo accounts, for instance), it syncs with only one Exchange server and, worse, with only with one calendar or contacts list at a time. If you have a separate personal calendar, your work calendar will replace it once you start the sync. (You'll be notified before it happens.)//
    Hope this helps!

  • IPad 2 Contacts sync with Exchange server and change Outlook custom form

Following iPad synchronizing Contacts, we find that our custom form in Outlook is pushed back to the Microsoft default “IPM:Contact”.
It appears that only the first 500 [approximation] contacts are affected. There are 5k contacts and we are seeing no other patterns.
We are not expecting an iOS Contact will resemble that of MS-Contacts, at the same time we are puzzled how iPad is rejecting and then causing ActiveSync to force change to the Exchange server.
Has anyone else experienced this, and can perhaps recommend a workaround?
    Environment
MAC iPad2 iOS v4.3.5 attached using ActiveSync
    Exchange 2003 SP2
Users are with either Outlook 2003, 2007, or 2010
    Thank you very much.
    Best Regards.

  • Microsoft Exchange server and Mailbox box prompt after migration

We are getting prompted to click OK when we open Outlook on the Microsoft Exchange server and Mailbox dialog box.
We just migrated from 2007 exchange to 2013 exchange and the people with windows 7 seem to be able to access exchange through outlook 2010 without getting prompted.  Also people who are getting prompted are not able to access public folders and our
XP.  Those using windows 7 can access public folders.

    Hi,
From your description, I would like to clarify the following thing:
Windows XP does not like msstd:*.domain and must use msstd:server.domain instead.
So I recommend you set this by updating the CertificateName via EMS.
    1. If you use a wildcard certificate, please run the following cmdlet:
    Set-OutlookProvider EXPR –CertPrincipalName msstd:*.contoso.com
    2. If not please run the Set-OutlookProvider EXPR –CertPrincipalName msstd:$null cmdlet. Once done, repair Outlook profiles and check results.
Besides, when there is a Windows XP user, we recommend SAN certificate not wildcard certificate.
    Hope my clarification is helpful.
If there are any problems, please feel free to let me know.
    Best regards,

  • Exchange Server and the E71 - frustrated trying to...

If there is anyone in the Calgary area that can help me get my E71 connected to our Microsoft Exchange Server your help would be greatly appreciated. At this point I wish I had purchased a Crackberry! This setup is simply NOT user friendly or intuitive. After a week of trying to get connected, deleting software, downloading software upgrades, running endless setup routines, I have reached the end! Friends who own Blackberrys connected within minutes! HELP!!
    Brent Cisco

After spending endless hours achieving nothing but frustration I have given up on trying to access my email on our Microsoft Exchange Server using Mail for Exchange I have deleted the application from my Nokia E71 phone and given up completely trying to make this work. I have used the wizard spending endless totally unproductive hours entering in the settings required over and over again, I've installed the security certificate, I've had my tech guy make the correct settings on our server, I've deleted and reinstalled Mail for Exchange and deleted and reentered my profile information: email address, domain name, user name, password, exchange server... some times in the same session I've entered this information countless times. I have asked it to permenently accept the certificate more times than I can count. I would also like to add that my tech guy said he couldn't figure it out and he's a Microsoft Certified Professional. I would love to find another E71 owner in Calgary who has had success connecting to his company's Exchange Server and get his or her help. Everyone I know who has a Blackberry or an iPhone said they connected in minutes. I'm taking this phone back to Rogers, I'll pay out the contract and switch the the phone everyone said I should have purchased in the first place... the iPhone. I'm more than disappointed!

Looks like Notes used to Sync in iOS4, but no longer sync in iOS5

  • Can I sync my iPhone calendar with exchange server AND ical on my mac ?

I have been happily using my iPhone synced with my Macbook over usb via iTunes.
I have contacts and iCal syncing. I have a number of 'calendars' set up in iCal which allow me to view separate aspects of home and work but they all exist within iCal. iPhone just treats these as colour coded appointments (different colour for each ical calendar)
I really like this set up.
However, I just changed jobs to a firm where they have a hosted outlook exchange set up and I need to use the exchange calendar for work appointments and showing my availability.
I have managed to setup my iPhone to work with the Exchange server for email as well as in apple Mail on my mac. This has all worked fine. However, I hesitated when iPhone asked if i wanted to sync my contacts and calendar. I said no as I was unsure if my private calendar/contacts would be uploaded to the public work area.
In fact it seems that this is the least of my worries:
As I have read on apple support for iPhone:
"Note that after configuring an Exchange ActiveSync account, all existing contact and calendar information on the iPhone or iPod touch is overwritten. Additionally, iTunes no longer syncs contacts and calendars with your desktop computer. You can still sync your iPhone or iPod touch wirelessly with MobileMe services."
So I am really pleased that I didn't let it sync those and wipe out my personal data if that is really true.
But now I am unsure how best to enable myself to view and update the work calendar on exchange.
Also it would be nice to see work contacts on my iPhone.
    Contacts
    - although i have said no to sync contacts with Exchange in fact it looks like I can get contacts ok - when i send email from the Exchange account on the phone , it searches Exchange contacts on the server as i type in the TO box.
    - also in Contacts on the iPhone I have a new group that has been created with the name of my Exchange account. The group appears to be blank when you go into it on the phone, but you can type in the search box and get contact details from the server just fine.
This seems workable for now for my purposes, although updating contacts is not going to be possible that way.
I'd like more info on that if poss but more importantly..
    Calendar
    - Unlike Contacts, no Calendar has been auto created for Exchange
    - Unlike contacts, I can't see how I can view or search or create an appointment in my Exchange calendar on the iPhone
What is the best solution to this problem - I presume lots of people face the same dilemma. My initial research suggests that there are multiple ways round this but all of them look like workarounds with various disavantages.
    Questions are
    - Can't I just set up Exchange as one of my calendars in ical?
    - Is it really true that I have to choose between syncing Exchange with work server OR syncing iCal with personal Macbook?
    - What is the best work around for this?
At the moment I am seriously considering getting a separate iPhone for work and have that sync with Exchange fully although that seems a bit drastic and does not solve the problem of seeing work and home appointments on the same calendar.

Can't I just set up Exchange as one of my calendars in ical?
Only if you're running Snow Leopard and your employer will allow access (different than iPhone/mobile device access, so most likely not), but not needed - keep reading.
Is it really true that I have to choose between syncing Exchange with work server OR syncing iCal with personal Macbook?
No. It was true, but with the v3.0 software that changed - you can now sync your Exchange contacts and calendar over the air, and your Address Book and iCal via iTunes over the docking cable.
What is the best work around for this?
None needed. When you set up the exchange account, and choose to turn on syncing of contacts and calendars, you will be prompted to remove all other data, or keep it on the iPhone. Choose the keep option. Note that in that case, your personal data will not be uploaded to the Exchange server - the iPhone keeps them separate (although you can choose to view them in a merged fashion).
I have this set up on my phone (Exchange calendar along side personal and other calendars from iCal). Same for contacts. Works great.

  • Exchange server and and antispam

    Dear All,
I have exchange 2010, and forefront proctection 2010 for exchange server. But i dont see many option for antispam. I would like all spam emails goes to separate folder and they are not downloaded to outlook and user can view them by logiinng into owa. But
    i dont see this option.
i cannot see any option where user should be freely able to to blacklist or white list for his own user mailbox.
Am i have selected right product or i have to install different antispam that have rich of feature.

    Hi,
you can configure that spam emails are put into quarantine in FPE. But only the Administrator has access to it. There is no way that a user can access it.
FPE interacts with the junk E-Mail filter of Outlook. If a user put an E-Mail address or domain into the blocked senders this information will be used by FPE to block specific e-mails.

  • Iphone, Exchange Server and NOT sending "Read Mail" receipts

I have a 3G Iphone that syncs with my office Exchange Server. I do NOT want people to see when I read or delete their emails and have my Outlook account set up that way from my desktop, however, they still get sent out from my Iphone. I haven't found a way to change this on the phone - has anyone else?
I've seen a few older posts about this subject, but I've not been able to find anything lately that deals with my question. Thanks in advance!

  • Exchange Server and iphone unread email

    Hello,
I have an Exchange 2003 server and I am using my iPhone 4 to sync my email, Contacts, and Calendar. I noticed that when I read an email in Outlook or OWA, the email on the iphone will still be marked as unread.
I changed the push to fetch and to manual and nothing seems to work. All mail is coming in fine. Deleting something from the phone deletes it from Outlook and visa-versa.
Does anyone have any idea what maybe causing this and is there a fix?
    Thank you,
    Rubyje

I've looked into this extensively with iPhone IOS 5 and iPad devices - the actualy protcol IOS uses to deliver mail to the phones is actually a very lightweight send and recieve engine. XNU (the kernel responsible for driving IOS platform that apple use to write IOS) requires this to make the usability of the mail applications very fast and steamlined.
If XNU integrated a heavy send and recieve protocol, the whole mail performance module on the devices would become slow and clunky (very similar to the microsoft platform on version 6 which did indeed have the FAT pull technology so that the end-points were in sync with the server side platform).
Hence - having other sync'd features such a true unread item user count is simply stripped out of the iPhone/iPads engine for performance reasons.

  • Exchange Server and Remote Access to Public Calendar

    Hello:
We use Outlook 2010 with Exchange Server at the 45 person architecture firm I work at.
We have a public calendar (set up in public folders) that is used by staff to note their time away from the office (doctor’s appt, vacation, client meeting, etc). The owner of the company wants to be able to remotely access that public calendar to be
able to know when staff are out of the office.  Can it be set up on his Surface 2 or phone (iPhone) so that when he’s not in the office, he can see that public calendar?
I’ve search online and from what I can tell, the only way to make it work is with third party software.
Is that true?  Or is there another way to make it work?  Is VPN an option?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks.

I'm going to attempt to activate Anywhere soon, probably early next week. I found a site that does a step-by-step of the Anywhere setup and I have a couple of questions based on those steps (here's the site - http://exchangeserverpro.com/how-to-configure-exchange-server-2010-outlook-anywhere/)
After the Anywhere wizard opens, it says this - "The external host name you choose should ideally be one that is already included in the Exchange certificate configured on the Client Access server. Otherwise you will need to create a new certificate for
Exchange." So I can name the external host, where do I find the Exchange cert? When accessing the firewall to allow Anywhere through, it says this: To enable remote Outlook users to connect to Outlook Anywhere the perimeter firewall for the network must
be configured to allow the SSL/HTTPS connections to pass through to the Client Access server. The precise steps for this will depend on which firewall you are using in your environment. However the basic components of this configuration are: •A public DNS
record for the external host name you are using for Outlook Anywhere •A public IP address on the firewall that the public DNS record resolves to •A NAT or publishing rule to allow SSL/HTTPS connections to reach the Client Access server

  • I am getting sync problems with Exchange Server and local outlook. Error code is 18439. Does anybody have an idea what the problem might be?

I am using Outlook on my Imac, which is linked to the Windows Exchange Server. All off a sudden I keep receiving messages saying that the message Re: xxxx cannot be synchronized with the exchange server. When I delete the message from my local mail box, all is fine, but after a while another one pops up. The error code is 18493. Does anyone have an idea what could be going wrong???
Thanks for your help already now!

    Hello Wolfgang,
I get the same error, but I cannot figure it out too. I hope you or I get some responses back! I do not know why there isnt an edit feature in outlook to acknowledge the individual alarm so it does not alarm again!

  • Snow Leopard Mail 4.4, Exchange Server, and Public Folders

I'm still confused about Apple's claim for the advantages of the Snow Leopard Mail program being of such significance to Corporate usage when it does not appear to support access to Public Folders when using an Exchange 2007 (or 2010) profile. Within a Corporate environment, Public Folders are one of the benefits for using Exchange.
    Am I missing something?

    JL,
What you are missing is the exchange! You can check your e-mail in an Exchange account, but you just can't "exchange" anything with others. I can't for the life of me figure out why such a fundamental feature was left out. While Apple is certainly capable of ignoring a feature like this, Microsoft itself has said that the days of public folders are numbered. I think that since Exchange has become more of a standard rather than proprietary, Microsoft prefers to cripple it in favor of something (Sharepoint) that will be proprietary. Why have something simple, that works, when you can complicate it with something new!
The best I can tell, there is no support for public folders in mail.app for Snow Leopard. However, I can't really find a post that firmly states that. There seems to have been support for public folders in the past (pre-Snow) through IMAP. I'm not really sure how that worked, but I've already upgraded, so it's too late for me.
I'd be happy to hear a firm explanation of this from someone from Apple (or otherwise connected).
    Good Luck, Jack
