MS Exchange syncs OK on iPad/MacBook, not on iMac

MS Exchange calendar syncs OK with my iPad and MacBook but iMac complains that "There was an error attempting to send your changes to the exchange server," and "Calendar can't save the event."  How is it that 1 out of 3 can't figure it out?

I am curious to see any responses to your question. I have an unrelated problem but it is with IMExchange, it works perfectly on an original ipad, but not on the iphone 4s. Both are running iOS5, and I am trying to connect both for the same user. Very odd, indeed.
Thanks,
Mary.

I found this link (trash Calendar Cache and iCal.plist), and it solved my problem. https://discussions.apple.com/message/11084987?searchText=ical%20us%20holidays%2 0not%20showing%20on%20imac#11084987

  • ICloud syncing iPhones and iPad but not to iCloud nor my Mac

I have two iPhones, an iPad and two MacBooks. iCloud is used for syncing the content. This all works ok, except for the Address book. Address book content is synced only between the iDevices but neither to the iCloud Web-Portal nor to my Macs. This is very puzzling because I thought all the synchronization is done through iCloud, so how can the iCloud Portal and my Macs be left out. Especially given the fact, that the calendar sync works perfectly.
Here's what I did to verify:
    - create a new address record named "test iPhone" on my iPhone. The record shows up on my iPad, but not in the web and not on my Macs
    - create a new address record named "test iPad" on my iPad. The record show up on my iPhone, but not on the web and not on my Macs.
    - create a new address record named "test Mac" on my Mac. The record shows up in the web and on my iDevices
    - create a new address record named "test Web" via iCloud web interface. The record shows up on my Macs, but not on the iDevices
    any ideas?

You can have each individual service turned on or off, so while you may not be using 2 iCloud accounts, it is perfectly possible to use 2 accounts and get exactly the results you are getting.
Why don't you look to see if you are using 2 accounts, you could check settings > mail, contacts and calendars on your phone and iPad or just look at the contacts app.

  • Exchange: forward/reply on iPad does not update desktop message status

When one replies to or forwards a message through Apple Mail, the original message gets a little symbol (a curvy or straight arrow) to show that it has been replied to or forwarded.
However, when replying through iPad or iPhone on an Exchange account, the message status is not updated on the desktop. Replies sent via iPad on a standard IMAP account correctly update the message status however.
Any ideas why it does not work for Exchange?
    Thanks,
    Simon

Oh well, I answered the question myself. The reason (although since not one other person seems to have noticed this issue except me, nobody will really care ) is that ActiveSync on the iPhone doesn't update the message status on the server.

  • Why are so many movies available in high def for ipad, but not for imac?

ok. another question, why are so many itunes rentals and movies unavailable in high def for rent or buy on an imac?   i have a 27 inch imac.   and an ipad, and it's funny, it will let me rent a high def video on the ipad, but not on the imac.   it's wierd, i don't get it, because there are movies i would rent or buy on my imac, that i'm not going to buy now because of this.

It depends on the contract w/the distribution company. Lionsgate for example has licensed their movies for resale on iTunes, not rental. Paramount allows some movies to be sold(not sure which ones and why) and others for rental, but the standard rental agreement between Apple and the movie studios is that rents will not be available for 30 days after the DVD is released.
Edit: Well, looking at the AppleTV site it looks like Lionsgate allows rentals also now, but there may be terms in the contract which say which movies can be bought/rented.

  • Contacts sync with iPhone, iPad & MacBook Pro but not calendar won't

OK, so on my iPhone and iPad I have software V 6.1.3, my MacBook Pro 10.8.3. I can get contacts to sync with all 3 but the calendar nothing wants to sync.

OK, I made a change to calendar on MacBook Pro and it syncd with iPad & the iPhone. I deleted it on the iPad and it syncd with the MacBook but not the phone. So apparently the problem is between the iPhone & the iPad.

  • IBooks and podcasts won't sync between iPhone, iPad, MacBook Pro

I have an iPad 2, an iPhone 5s and a MacBook Pro (Mavericks) - all are on the cloud and wifi sync, all permissions are there, settings are correct.  The iBooks issue I had was between the MacBook and the iPad - I put some PDF files into iBooks on my MacBook and when I went to the iPad they were not there.  Even after syncing, connecting directly to the MacBook via USB - nothing.  They are there now, but I have no idea how that happened.  I tried that a week ago.
This morning on my commute into work, I added a couple of podcasts to the Apple podcast app on my iPhone 5s.  When I got into the office and went to the podcasts app on my iPad, they were not there.  Even after syncing on wifi (I don't have my MacBook with me so I haven't tried direct syncing).
Am I misunderstanding how the wifi syncing works altogether?  Or is my iPad the issue?  Any help is appreciated!

    Hi vichochile,
If you are having an issue with syncing your new iPhone with the information that is in iCloiud (and on your other devices) we should make sure that iCloud is set up correctly on the iPhone. See this page for directions -

  • ITunes video sync mac to ipad does not work

    Question of my managing director:
here I have a mac (lion) and an iPad3 (64 GB). In iTunes he has bought a movie "Battleship" HD-version and he wants to synchronize it with his iPad3.
It is correctly marked in iTunes for sync, there is enough free space left on the iPad and the sync works well without any fault. But the final result is,
that this video does not appear in "Videos" on the iPad.
On the other hand, the sync of music videos works fine, but not with movies he bought in iTunes.
Both, mac and ipad have the same iTunes account. There are no other restrictions set on the iPad.
What can I do? Thanks in advance for your support

Check to be sure you have set the correct default calendar on your phone. Settings>Mail,Contacts,Calendars>tap Default Calendar (in the Calendar section near the bottom).  You probably don't want to choose "Calendar" under On My iPhone.

  • Sync Issue between iPad & Macbook Pro

Ok so here is the issue...
My iCloud settings have been enabled for both the Macbook Pro and my iPad2 for everything except for mail and photostream. I mainly need iCloud for my iCalendar Calendars and documents through Pages, Keynote, and Numbers.
For example, my Macbook Pro says I have 4 contacts, yet my iPad has a couplw dozen. I've backed up the iPad2 yet the Macbook dosn't change at all. I've recently a convert from PC's and don't know much about the Mac OS yet so I'm hoping someone can help the newbie out!

For example, my Macbook Pro says I have 4 contacts, yet my iPad has a couplw dozen. I've backed up the iPad2 yet the Macbook dosn't change at all.
On the Mac open System Preferences > iCloud
Deselect the box next to Contacts then reselect then restart your Mac. You can do this from the Apple menu.
(You can open System Prerferences from your Apple menu (top left in your screen), or from the Dock or  from your Applications folder)
On the iPad tap Settings > iCloud. Switch Contacts off then back on then reset the iPad.
Hold the On/Off Sleep/Wake button and the Home button down at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
Hopefully your Contacts will sync as they should now.

  • Some photos sync to my iPad but not all?

I have a MacBook Pro running Snow Leopard and a 32gb iPad.
Having just returned from a trip away I have been having trouble syncing photos from iPhoto to my iPad.
Some will sync but others it says are incompatible files.
They are all taken on a Canon SX10 IS and are all in JPEG format.
    Any thoughts?

Try deleting the photo cache from your computer and then re-try the photo sync and see if all the photos then copy over - the location of the cache, and how to delete it, is on this page http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1314

  • ITunes' "Sync Apps" and iPad do not match.

Trying to figure out what my options are here (and what might have happened to cause this)...
Currently, the "Sync Apps" box under the Apps tab in iTunes is unchecked. The image displayed of the iPad reflects the correct number and placement of apps on my iPad.
Checking "Sync Apps" changed to a much-reduced set of apps, with placement that is WAY off.
While I'm interested in what might have caused this, what I'm more interested in is figuring out how to get the two in sync. I can't run the risk of losing data on the iPad and, if possible, I'd prefer not to select apps one-by-one in iTunes (there are about 100 I need to sync). Any thoughts?

have tried to delete the icloud account on the iphone, and set it up again, and at first everything works, but newer calendar entries, doesnt come throught...

ipads are are designed to sync with only one computer. You need to choose one of the two and maintain all your music, photos etc. on that one computer.

  • Sync film to ipad because not authorised

We bought a couple of films at Easter from itunes and put them on our ipad. They have disappeared from the ipad, so we're trying to get them from our old not-working very well computer onto our new computer with it's own itunes which the ipad is now synced with. I read somewhere on itunes support that you just stick the stuff from computer one onto an external harddrive, and transfer files that way.
But now, although the film is appearing in itunes, it won't put it on the ipad because, apparently, I'm not authorised to on this computer!
I'm tearing my hair out and trying to get this film onto the ipad for the children to watch while we drive off on holiday in a couple of hours! Can anyone help?
    Thanks

For music or anything else you can select whatever you want to sync.
Open itunes, plug in ipad, go to the apps tab, select the apps you want, sync, unplug ipad.
Plug in iphone, go to apps tab, select the apps you want, sync, unplug iphone.
The same goes for music/photos/videos/movies/podcasts/contacts/calendars/tv shows
