Re installed OS. No problem but lost MS Office Starter. Message that Q is being used and it must be empty.Tried as advised to click MS Office in program panel but only option was for Uninstall. No option for change or repair. Now what?

Downloaded iPhone SDK, ran Xcode, no option for iPhone - Mac OS only!

Hi everyone,
I downloaded the free iPhone SDK and ran the installer. Whenever I launch Xcode however, there is no tab for iPhone applications - only Mac OS. I took a peak inside the packages folder in the download and spotted files named "iphone SDK", so I'm confused.
Any idea on why Xcode runs but there is no option for iPhone?

On my PowerPC G5 I have a similar issue where I installed Mac OS X 10.5.6, but after installing the iphone SDK I do not see any refs to iphone when in Xcode.
I even tried the suggestion here:

No options for changing fonts under Preferences

I recently lent out my ibook to my father because his M$ machine died. I set up his verizon email. I went in to change the font settings under preferences and all the options except account were non existent. I set him up with a standard user account. I then checked my settings under admin and i could see all options. I then changed him to an admin account and tried to change the font setting in his mail, still no other options. What am i missing here? I am up to date on downloads, can you help me?

Sounds like the Preferences toolbar is closed on Accounts.
Go to Mail > Preferences and at the top right of the Preferences window is a clear pill shaped button. Selecting this button closes/opens the complete Preferences toolbar.

Option for changing country/region does not show

I Use IPad IOS 8.
I want to change the region from United States to The Netherlands, but there is no option to do this.
I logged in to Apple Store and chose View Account. The option does not show.

Whatever your region is set to in the iPad settings should sync to the settings in the iStores ...iTunes, the App Store and the iBooks Stores on the iPad. Try this now. Go to the iTunes app on the iPad, swipe to the bottom of the screen in the featured tab. Tap on your ID and sign out. Then sign back in again and see if you are prompted to change to the store that you want to be in.

There's no option for changing the vetification number in icloud

I Changed my phone number and my iphone and restored it via icloud. For getting my keychain back I have to provide the security number which I would normally receive via Text message, but the it's still connected with my old phone number. Tried help: On your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch, tap Settings > iCloud > Keychain > Advanced, but no "advanced" field is provided (using 8x ios). Changed the number on icloud.com over desktop, logout from icloud on phone and logged back in but the security code is still associated with my old phone nr. Please help, I'm lost.

Options for changing the window's size

You could probably add a sneaky onResize function in the BODY tag of your new window which would just set it back to the size you want whenever anyone resized it (including using the maximise button). Should work, haven't tried it though.

What would be the best Adobe Product option for me if I only need it to be able to convert PDF documents to Excel Format?

Only you can decide what is a "best fit".
PDF content export to Excel can be performed by Acrobat XI or either of Adobe's online subscription services "ExportPDF" or "PDF Pack".

No option to change QT to 32 bit for use in iTunes

Many, many videos previously seen on iTunes now give this message: "This movie requires QuickTime, which is not supported by this version of iTunes. "
iTunes 13.1.3; Quicktime Pro10.3 (7.7.1) & 7.6.6 (1710) on Maverick upgraded from Mountain Lion. Everything I could fine on forum says I must use 32 bit mode for older media, and to change options to 32 bit. There is no option for changing to 32 bit on QT. The only other suggestion was to drag all unreadable movies to the desktop, delete them from iTunes, then reinstall the movies into iTunes! That is a horrible lot of work! Is there anyone who has found a way around the problem? I had no problem with the movies playing on 10.8 nor before.

If the phone has this option or not depends on where the phone was sold (country and operator). Some operators have this feature in their branding.

Start-up options

Is there a place to specify start-up options for iMovie? It always brings up the last project worked on. My preference would be to bring up the menu that lets you specify whether you want to start a new project, open an existing one, etc.

If you want to open an existing project, just go to the project itself and double-click it. That will open it in iMovie.
If you want to start with a new project, er, open iMovie and press Apple+N (..same as choosing File and then New).
Deleting iMovie's Preferences stops it - the next time only - automatically opening the last-viewed project.
But to jump quickly to any existing project ..just double-click it to start it.

HELP! My iTunes & iPod don't have option for VIDEO???

I have a 30gb iPod and the latest version of iTunes 6.03 (something like that). I downloaded a tv show from iTunes so I can try to put it in the ipod... When I plug it in, the Music and Pictures update by itself BUT the VIDEO doesn't update to the ipod at all eventho the box is checked..
1.)So I go to Edit> Prefferences> Ipod tab. It doesn't give me an option for VIDEO. It only says Music, Podcasts, Photos, Contacts, and Calendars. So I'm stuck right there.
2.) I tried to Click and Drag to my ipod but it doesn't let me do that either. I can drag it anywhere except to my ipod =(
3.) I tried to Right Click on the tv show> Get Info> Option>
(I read that you have to change the Video Kind to anything other than [Tv Shows]. I tried to do that but it doesn't give me that option. I can't select to change it. It's stuck on [Tv Shows])
4.) I even tried to Restore my ipod 2 times. It's a waste of time.
I think my main problem is that I don't have the Video option on my iPod or iTunes eventho I restored and updated 2 times. Maybe if I can figure out how to get the Video option on there then I can figure out how to put the videos on my ipod!

There isn't a "video" option for iTunes, so you can scratch that from your list of concerns.

Restrict Select-Options for Logical Database field

The way we restrict select options for custom defined select option fields on selection screen.. can we restrict select options for standard Logical Database fields?
i.e. report uses PNPCE logical database and has field called PERNR. I want to restrict select options for this PERNR field so that it has options for 'Select single values' only.

You can user AT SELECTION-SCREEN event, and check whether any record is having high value for PNPPERNR.

IDVD won't give an option for higher capacity DL discs

Using iDVD version 7.1.2 (1158)
In the 'Project Info' window, under 'DVD Type:' the only options given are Single Layer 4.2GB or Double-Layer 7.7GB.
According to the info, my project is 150 min, 8.21 GB.
I'd like to burn a DVD using Memorex DVD+RDL media which has a stated capacity of 8.5GB or 240Min (from the label). There is no option for this.
Is there a reason why Apple gives 2 such strange sized options for SL and DL options? Is iDVD reserving room on the disc for other stuff?

Whether you can use DL disks is not governed by iDVD but by your superdrive. Check in 'About this Mac' if yours supports dual layer media.
Memorex is not recommended. Verbatim or Taiyo Yuden are.
150 minutes should fit comfortably on a DL disk, as the project will of course be compressed to the standard DVD format of mpeg2:

Best Performance is for videos of up to 60 minutes
Best Quality is for videos of up to 120 minutes
Professional Quality is also for up to 120 minutes but even higher quality (and takes much longer)
That was for single-layer DVDs. Double these numbers for dual-layer DVDs.
Professional Quality: The Professional Quality option uses advanced two-pass technology to encode your video (The first pass determines which parts of the movie can be given greater compresson without quality loss and which parts can’t. The second pass then encodes those different parts accordingly) , resulting in the best quality of video possible on your burned DVD. You can select this option regardless of your project’s duration (up to 2 hours of video for a single-layer disc and 4 hours for a double-layer disc). Because Professional Quality encoding is time-consuming (requiring about twice as much time to encode a project as the High Quality option, for example) choose it only if you are not concerned about the time taken.
In both cases the maximum length includes titles, transitions and effects etc. Allow about 15 minutes for these.
You can use the amount of video in your project as a rough determination of which method to choose. If your project has an hour or less of video (for a single-layer disc), choose Best Performance. If it has between 1 and 2 hours of video (for a single-layer disc), choose High Quality. If you want the best possible encoding quality for projects that are up to 2 hours (for a single-layer disc), choose Professional Quality. This option takes about twice as long as the High Quality option, so select it only if time is not an issue for you.
Use the Capacity meter in the Project Info window (choose Project > Project Info) to determine how many minutes of video your project contains.
NOTE: With the Best Performance setting, you can turn background encoding off by choosing Advanced > “Encode in Background.” The checkmark is removed to show it’s no longer selected. Turning off background encoding can help performance if your system seems sluggish.
And whilst checking these settings in iDVD Preferences, make sure that the settings for NTSC/PAL and DV/DV Widescreen are also what you want.

Purpose of Reason for Change on Timesheets

We are using PWA 2010 for time reporting. There is a field on the timesheet called "Reason for Change". The only value I believe I've ever seen in this field is "Not Delayed", however, other possible values (from a Lookup
table) are "Under Estimated", "Access to Resources", "Assigned to higher priority work", "Technical issue", "Other".
To my knowledge there is nothing anyone does at my company that changes/sets the value of this field. Can someone help me understand how it is used? how it is set? its purpose? I've been looking online but cannot find anything that
talks about it.

What you are seeing is a custom field, created by your Project Server administrator, or perhaps by a consultant who might have set up your Project Server 2010 system. I can assure you that this field is NOT a default field. So, I would suggest
that you talk to your Project Server administrator to see if he/she set up this field. And if not, then I would suggest you talk to your consultant. And if nobody knows where this field came from, I would recommend that your Project Server administrator
remove it from the Timesheet-related views in PWA and then that the field be deleted. Just a thought. Hope this helps.
