MS Outlook 365 settings for connection to a UK ISP

Hello from England
Just after Christmas I treated myself to a refurbished iMac, replacing my Windows PC. Model is MB324BA running Yosemite 10.10, 2.66GHz processor, 4Gb RAM. I have also downloaded Microsoft Office 365 for Mac. As part of this suite I get Outlook 365, but I can't set up an email account on this software.
I have tried talking to my ISP (Talktalk) but they do not offer support to "3rd party software providers." On their website they do offer suggestions on Port Settings etc for if I was using Outlook 2011 for Mac. Tried these but no success!
I have also tried talking to Microsoft Support, but they just keep bouncing my call around the world saying that they have a specific department that will be able to help, yet I never seem to get any answers!
Is there anyone in the community who can help please.
Thanks,
Lurch

Sorry, but only your email provider will be able to tell you what the correct settings are.  Maybe post your question on the Microsoft Mac forums as it's their software you're a having trouble with:

  • Unbale to install November update on Outlook 2007 SP3 for connecting to Exchange 2013

    Hi
I was trying to upgrade my outlook 2007 clients for connecting to Exchange 2013 environment. First I have installed Office SP3 (kb2526086). Outlook version after that is 12.0.6607.1000. Later I  tried to install nNovember 2012 update which is a
prerequisite for connecting to Exchange 2013 clients (support.microsoft.com/kb/2687404/en-us) but it shows me a message "Expected version of the product was not found on the system". No idea  how to proceed now, expecting help.

I recommend that you post this in the Outlook Forum:  http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/outlook/threads

  • Multiple Signatures on Exchange/Outlook 365 with multiple connected pop3 accounts wanting sepearate signatures

I was referred here from another thread, see
http://community.office365.com/en-us/f/158/p/245124/778388.aspx#778388but not sure if this is the right forum, so please move/correct my posting if needed!
    It's a exchange/Outlook365 query, relating to signatures
I have several connected pop3 accounts to the exchange mailbox, but there appears to be no way to have separate signatures for each connected account, in fact there appears to be only 1 signature for the entire account? So when I send emails I can select
from several different from addresses, but the signature remains the same ...
On desktop outlook 2003-2010 at least, there is the ability to have default reply, default new message signatures for each account in use, is there a way to configure the exchange/outlook365 OWA to do this ?
I'm about to test if an outlook 2010 desktop client allows/recognises the server side linked accounts and allows email to be sent from them, so any tips or points on that would be welcome!
    thanks

In Outlook2010 you can set multiple signatures, yes.
If you connect to those accounts LOCALLY using POP3 you can also then set defaults for each account ... HOWEVER
if you set the CONNECTED ACCOUNTS via OUTLOOK365 via the cloud server, the local Outlook will not let you set default signatures for each account. Yes you can have signatures and manually select them, but that's not the same thing, and leads to mistakes.
The whole point of connecting the accounts via the Cloud is that the local PC is then no longer part of the critical path when away from the office, so if the local PC crashed or lost internet, then it would not affect mail delivery to the single exchange
mailbox, for access via the web or mobile devices. Quite important. A common failure we have on local outlook pop3 connections is a single password failure to login, leaves the pop up menu on screen and then stops all other pop3 mail collection from working.
We have tried for 2+ years to solve this "password failure popup", but as the passwords are saved and don't change and the problem persists, we wanted to move to the cloud ... and avoid problems when users are away.
Last but not least, if using the cloud to send a reply to a mail via a connected account, the email is not sent as the connected account (despite it being validated for send as) but sent using a "<exchange Primary email> send on behalf of <pop3
connected email>" which defeats to whole point of connecting the accounts and verifying them!
I've got to say when even Google can get this right! why can't Microsoft? It really does suck!
For a business class product having 1 signature per user within OWA is seriously deficient.
Maybe time to move our email needs to Google, as on searching the depths of old archives it does appear these issues have been raised for several years, yet nothing has improved ... shame on Microsoft.

  • Full HD Export settings for Connect 360 (Xbox)

I have created my first project with imported clips from a Sony HDR-SR5E (Really smooth & easy). I wish to now view these on my 1080 Samsung TV via my connected Xbox 360 (Updated with latest firmware as far as I can tell) to benefit from true 1920x1080 presentation.
I have exported to QT (H.264) with the following movie settings:
    Compression: H.264
    Quality: High
    Key Frame rate: 24
    Frame Reordering: Yes
    Dimensions: 1920x1080
Connect 360 states that it supports full HD (1920x1080) H.264 in both the MPEG-4 and QuickTime containers (in addition to the previous WMV) & the Xbox support pages suggest it supports the following for H.264:
    · File Extensions: .mp4, .m4v, mp4v, .mov
    · Containers: MPEG-4, QuickTime
    · Video Profiles: Baseline, main, and high (up to Level 4.1) profiles.
    · Video Bitrate: 10 Mbps with resolutions of 1920 x 1080 at 30fps. See question number 6 for more information.
    · Audio Profiles: 2 channel AAC low complexity (LC)
    · Audio Max Bitrate: No restrictions. See question number 6 for more information.
However, and you knew there must be one, when selecting the movie on the Xbox dashboard it will not play stating it is an unsupported format!!!! Arghhhh, denied....
I have played around with a few different settings and the only one I can get to work correctly is by exporting to one of the default export standards i.e. 960x540... Video looks ok but not the superior quality I was hoping for on my 1080 TV.
Has anyone else come across this problem or can suggest any solutions to get full HD from camera to TV?
    Thanks in anticipation.

Thanks for the reply, but the Xbox will in fact view MPEG-4, which iMovie can export. The only problem I'm having is with the quality of the output. The quality is in the movie that is exported, not in the Xbox's viewing of the movie - the movie looks just as bad on my Mac mini as it does thru my Xbox...
With experimentation, I think I'm getting closer to my goal...

  • MQSeries Server Settings for connection to XI server

    Dear All,
    I am doing MQSeries 5.2 -> Sender JMS adapter-> XI -> Receiver RFC adapter -> R/3.
Can anybody suggest me what are the things in MQSeries which should be running at MQSeries server(like queue, channel, queue manager - their types) to get a message by sender JMS adapter in XI?
Should the queue manager be of local or remote type? If it local, then can XI connect to this queue manager in MQSeries.
In the above things, i am asking only about MQSeries server things and not of XI server things - just to clarify.
So if somebody has connected MQSeries server to XI server, then please give replies to my above queries. It is slightly urgent.
    Thanks and Regards,
    Rajeev Gupta

    Dear Chirag,
i have already deployed the JMS adapter correctly in XI server.............
i want to know is anything left on MQSeries server for me to do as a prerequisite to send message to XI server........
So please reply to my above queries.
Currently i am getting the following error in my sender JMS adapter:
Error during channel initialization; exception trace: javax.jms.JMSException: MQJMS2005: failed to create MQQueueManager for '<IP_ADRESS>:<MQ_QUEUE_MANAGER>'

i have written '<IP_ADRESS>:<MQ_QUEUE_MANAGER>' just to hide the data - i am getting <IP_ADRESS> as IP Adress i gave in JMS adapter and <MQ_QUEUE_MANAGER> as Queue Manager i gave in JMS adapter.
    Dear All,
Any inputs to my above queries.

  • Unwanted data strings in settings, for connectivity to serial port.

When my program connects to the unit, threw the serial port its recording an unwanted string value in my setting files. Causing "19,Read Key (Boolean).vie" Error to be recorded. Unable to locate where and why this is happening in my VI. Im very new to labview and still learning the basic. I have came up with the conclusion that this error started to happen ever since the last LABVIEW update. (Version 13.0f2).
    Thank you,

This is my original copy of my labview code, i thought maybe updating it was causing the error 19.
The first Settings.ini is before my code is ran, second is the error after the code is ran.
I inherited a program and im trying to follow all the code to key in where the code is causing the error. Im not sure what exactly code I should post.

  • What are the settings for connecting to a Mac behind a wireless router?

I have a client with an iMac. His Mac connects to the internet through a wireless router which gets its signal from a cable modem. My Mac is running 10.6. The remote iMac is running 10.5.
How do I configure my Mac (Administrator) and the remote iMac so a connection can be made using Remote Desktop.
    Thanks!

In the AirPort Utility, I selected the Advanced tab, and then selected Port Mapping.
Q: What service do I choose from the drop-down menu? Also, where do I enter the two ports you mentioned? Public UDP Port(s)? Public TCP Port(s)? Private IP Address: Private UDPPort Private TCP Port?
    still confused, I guess. Thanks!

  • Modem Settings for Road Runner Dialup

I am unable to log on to Road Runner dialup.
I have this Apple internal modem:
    Modem Model: Jump
    Interface Type: I2S
    Modulation: V.92
    Hardware Version: Version 1.0
    Driver: MotorolaSM56K.kext (v1.3.9)
I have tried every combination of settings I could think of, with and without Road Runner tech support assistance and am still unable to connect and complete authentication. I have verified user name and password to be correct.
Does anyone have a list of settings for connecting to Road Runner, or other suggestions?
    Thanks

    Thanks a lot for answering.
I believe the modem is working. I can hear it dial, hear the handshake and apparent connection. The modem status display shows "Connecting" then "Authenticating" and eventually "Disconnecting". I get an Internet Connect report that "Authentication Failed". I have verified that my Account Name and Password are correct, by logging on to the Road Runner Web Mail site. I went through that in detail with their tech support.
How can I disable v.92 in OS X 10.5.6? I tried disabling error control and data compression, but that seemed to have no effect. What about these settings:
    Send PPP echo packets
    Use verbose logging
    Use TCP header compression
Would any of those PPP settings have an effect on Authentication?
So far, the only way I have been able to connect and log in by dialup is with a PowerBook G3 (Wallstreet) in OS 9 with a PC card modem. My normal connection is a cable modem and that's no problem, but I wanted to test dialup as a backup. Now, it's a challenge.
    Thanks again for your help.

  • Outlook 2013 asks for credentials but does not connect for Exchange email, but only when out of office

    Hi,
New employee wishes to use his Office 365. Have loaded onto new PC, connected to exchange, loaded his folders, everything is fine.
When he leaves the office and connects at home, he is asked for credentials.
I have tried the usual credentials: [email protected] and domain\user
With each attempt, Outlook displays disconnected
The password is correct, OWA he can log on fine, he has no problem when returning to the office. He has all the correct permissions in AD.
No other user has a problem when away from the office, but every other user is using Office 2010
    Advice appreciated.

    Hi,
Please make sure the user has enable Outlook Anywhere in Outlook.
To turn on Outlook Anywhere, on the Connection tab, under
Outlook Anywhere, check Connect to Microsoft Exchange using HTTP, and then click
Exchange Proxy Settings. Your Exchange admin must enable this feature and provide you the proxy settings. For more information, please refer:

  • Outlook 2013 ask credential for connecting to Exchange 2007

    Hi,
i've a big problem into my business from about 2 weeks. We have deployed 5 new pc with Office 2013 Professional and Windows 7 professional, into our server we have exchange 2007 version 8.3 and build 83.6
Only for 1 client outlook works correctly but into other 4 client we have same problem. After open outlook 2013 is all ok and i see "connected to Microsoft Exchange" but after 2 minutes outlook always asks for password prompt. When i insert the
password the client request the same password into loop.
Despite asks for credential i receive correctly the emails.
From now i've tried this solution that i read online but none of these works correctly.
1- delete and create new outlook profile
2- I have changed the authentication to NTLM instead of Basic Authentication
3- Delete credential from Control Panel --> Credential Manager
4- Disable the setting "Always prompt for logon credentials"
5- try to change user password from owa
    Other information:
User can access to owa and work correctly, autodiscover is running correctly because i setup the account with it.
I've tried to test outlook connection with press ctrl and left click into outlook taskbar.
Why outlook always ask me for credential? This is very frustrating because only 1 client works correcly.
I'm waiting for your kindly response.
    Matteo

    Hi Matteo,
What’s your Outlook connection status? Confirm your Protocol is RPC/TCP (internal) or RPC/HTTP (external)? Please try to configure your problematic account in the Outlook client which is the only one working correctly to check whether the issue persists.
If all other 4 accounts can work well in the “good” one client, please check whether there is any difference between the account settings in different PC.
    Thanks,

  • Exporting all settings for Outlook Desktop so that they can be imported into Outlook

    Hi there,
I was wondering whether all settings for Outlook Desktop can be exported so that they can be imported into Outlook i.e. .psts, .osts, .pabs, .oabs, .dats, .xmls, .nk2s, .rwzs, .rtfs, .txts, .htms, .dics, .ofts, .srss and .msgs. My Managing Director's Wife is
unsubscribing from Office 365 in order to use Office Professional 2013 I presume or 2010 perhaps. Your help would be much appreciated.
    Kind regards,
    RocknRollTim
P.S. I was redirected by a user off the Office 365 Community Forum.

    Hi,
As per the information and details provided by you, in Outlook, there is not any way to backup Outlook account setting because in all Outlook versions the account settings are kept inside the window registry under this key:
    • HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Windows Messaging Subsystem\Profiles
So if you want to create backup of your Outlook account setting, you should have to export that key from your registry and then import it to your new computer.
To backup Outlook Account setting follow these steps: -
    1. First, go to the Start menu and then at the Run box, type regedit and press Enter.
    2. Under the registry editor right click to Export the Profiles key found inside this location in the registry:
    • HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Windows Messaging Subsystem\
    • e.g: “HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Windows Messaging Subsystem\Profiles”
    3. In Outlook 2013 right click to Export the Profile key found under this location in the registry:
    • HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\15.0\Outlook\
    • e.g: “HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\15.0\Outlook\Profiles key”
    4. Specify the Destination Location and File Name then press Save.
Correct me if the information that I am having is wrong. I hope this will be helpful for you.
    Thanks and regards

I have changed the home server in [ServiceEGS] and [Service1] with the CAS Array VIP configured with the DNS name
autodiscoverservices.exchange.xxxx.xx  but it is not working and getting "Exchange server unavailable" error. Some one have any idea how to
configure the user outlook profile via a prf file which works with exchange server 2013 autodiscover services. Is there any more settings to be applied to the PRF file to make it work.
    [ServiceEGS]
    CachedExchangeConfigFlags=0x00000900
    MailboxName=%UserName%
    HomeServer=autodiscoverservices.exchange.xxxx.xx
    [Service1]
    OverwriteExistingService=No
    UniqueService=Yes
    MailboxName=%UserName%
    HomeServer=autodiscoverservices.exchange.xxxx.xx
    AccountName=Microsoft Exchange Server

May I ask why you changed the home server to autodiscoverservices.exchange.xxxx.xx?
Basically, we set it to Microsoft Exchange server address.

  • Outlook 2013 asks for credentials connecting to Exchange 2010 multiple times

I'm having a problem with Outlook 2013 asking for my credentials a few times a day for no apparent reason. Some info on my setup...
    CLIENT
Windows 7 Professional SP1 64 bit, fully patched
Office 2013 Pro Plus 32 bit, fully patched (has there even been any patches released yet?)
Outlook auto-configured to Exchange during setup.
    Online Archive setup with server
Connected via gigabit ethernet on same network and domain as Exchange server.
    SERVER
    Exchange 2010 SP2, fully patched.
    One server, holds all roles.
I have zero clue as to why I'm getting popped for credentials. This did not happen prior to my upgrade to Office 2013. I was previously using Office 2007 Pro Plus.
My credentials are always accepted, never a problem putting them in.
    Thanks in advance!

I have been testing and testing also for days, then waiting for any responses to other people's questions on other places as well.
After some time started my own tries again.
Now I fixed my issue - don't fully comprehend it. But anyway here comes the solution that worked for me (and hopefully for more of y'all)...
Go to the Exchange account from within Outlook, click special settings, tab connection. Open up the button proxy settings, UNtick options 3 and 4 (connections with HTTP/then TCP/IP). Make sure to UNtick both.
Press OK, Hit Save and OK again. Press NEXT and close the screens.
Logout from Outlook. LOG OFF your RDP session if you're in one. Restart the RDP session after some 15 seconds. Or start Outlook if you were only in Outlook.
    My issue was then solved.

  • Connect Outlook 365 to Mail

I tried adding my Outlook 365 email account to the Mail account on my computer when I input the email address and password it says that the Exchange server "null" is not responding. I am connected to the network connection and waited for awhile, but am still unsuccessful, any help?

    Hi,
According to your description, it seems like 3rd app process startup with Windows caused this problem.
In my opinion, it would be better to use Autoruns to check Window Startup items if there is any IE activX start with IE.
    Download Autoruns:
    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/bb963902.aspx
Pleasse use Autoruns to check system startup items carefully, and try to remove 3rd items for test.
