MS Outlook Mac 2011 , mail disappearing draft

If i send mail from my outlook mac 2011, aol account, and I am BCC multiple accounts; if one of those accounts are invalid, I get an error but can not fix it. The email is nowhere to be found. It is not in my drafts?? I want to delete the invalid email. Now it keeps appearing as an error every time I log on.

Finally figured it out...
1) Open mail/compose notes on your macbook...
2) copy and paste every note from Outlook to a new note in Mail.
3) Open iTunes. In Info/Advanced tick Notes. This will replace / copy all Notes from Mail to your iPhone...
4) Voila! Notes are on iPhone...
I must say in spite of all the fabulous advantages of a Macbook and an iPhone, syncing really does suck...
Transferring data from another smartphone to a Mac or an iPhone is tough...
Features like "one way / two way" sync for Phone / computer or allowing us to select which whose, phone or computer, will be considered more important so that you can choose whose data will overwrite the other, are not there in iTunes... This is something which really needs to be there...
Anyways... problem solved for now...

Leave email on server imap outlook:mac 2011

Hi,
I need to read my e-mails on multiple devices and when I download onto one it is removed from the server. How to I configure outlook:mac 2011 to leave it on the server for a specific number of days?

Please post a screen shot of the Account window. More than likely your mail provider/ISP is using IMAP and Outlook is setup to access it using IMAP. You have to make sure all other devices are also accessing that account using IMAP. If one of them is accessing it by POP then the mail might get deleted from the server when downloaded to that device.
Who is your email provider?
How are you accessing the account, IMAP or POP?
To post a screen shot use the Camera icon at the top of the reply area. Images have to be Jpeg or PNG. To take a screen shot press Shift + Command + 4 keys and draw a box around what you want to make a screen shot of.

Multiple personalities when syncing bb calendar with outlook mac 2011

Outlook mac 2011 meetings where I invite guests appear correctly both in my bb and mac outlook calendar. Meetings where I invite no one "appointments" won't sync no matter what I try. Has this happened to anyone else?

Outlook for Mac 2011 does not support iCloud contacts and calendars syncing because Microsoft chose not to include the CardDAV and CalDAV protocols necessary to do so (see http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2648915), which is strange since they do support these on Outlook for Windows.
If you want to contacts and calendars with iCloud you'll have to use the OS X apps.

Outlook Mac 2011 keeps crashing after Maverick installation

Hi everyone,
just installed Maverick. Now my Outlook Mac 2011 keeps crashing. I just freezes up and eventually pops a window stating "microsoft outlook must be closed because an error occured. any unsaved work may be lost.". Anyone seen this too and found a way to fix?

I have found MS Office databases to be fragile. When I had the 2008 version, it was corrupted by an MS Office upadate. The same thing recently occurred to me in MS Office 2011 after I migrated to a new iMac. The tech support person from Microsoft had to reinstall MS Office 2011 from scratch and I had to start over with a new Main Identity.
Fortunately, there are ways to migrate all your old email to a new main identity but it is a pain.
I suggest you head over to the Microsoft forums to see what they are saying over there. It could be that your database was corrupted by the update to Mavericks but there are other things that cause that delicate database to get corrupted. I realize this does not fix your problems but you might gain some additional insights at the Microsoft web site.

By the way, sorting tasks in Outlook Mac 2011 is too simple, just click on
“Tasks” from the bottom of “Navigation Pane” and accomplish sorting according the requirement.

Acrobat Forms and submit to Outlook Mac 2011

Anyone come across this.
Use Acrobat Pro 9 and have forms set up to use in Reader with a submit button.
Submit button runs a java script which attaches form to an email (see below), resets the form and then closes the form.
This has worked fine with Entourage (Office Mac 2008) however we have just upgraded to Office Mac 2011 with Entourage now being replaced in the suite with Outlook.
Now we can't get any pdf to attach itself to an email - either using the java script which lets us specify an email address, subject line and copy in the email itself OR the standard built in action in Acrobat Pro itself.
Help?

Sorry folks - haven't looked at this for a while - found the answer on another thread - don't know why it appears answered here but the answer ain't good I'm afraid and it looks like the problem is with Adobe. Some of the answers were as follows:

Outlook (in Mac Office 2011) is not supported?!?! Adobe is not supporting Office, the MOST POPLAR software package available on the Mac? This does not help Adobe and certainly does not help its customers. This is an awful deficency that needs to be fixed.
Adobe was too dumb to go looking up what was happening with Office for Mac. They've only had 3 years to find out. That they were replacing Entourage with Office. There is no such thing as Entourage on PC. They should have known. I think since they got caught flatfooted they will have to add.
Put simply - it now DOES NOT work with Office 2011 for Mac - downgrade Office anyone?

Configure outlook mac 2011 gmail

I am trying to configure my email from Gmail to be delivered to my Outlook for Mac 2011. I have followed all the tutorials and recommended settings for both my Gmail and the Outlook client but I continue to get the same error message
I have checked my security settings, user name and password more than a dozen times and it still does not work. I have even restarted my macbook a few times in between and I still get the same error message. Can someone help me figure out why it does not work?

Outlook:Mac 2011 Slow When Switching to Contacts

I am having problems with Outlook Mac. I am on a 1.7 GHz i5 4GB Macbook Air. When I switch from mail or calendar to contacts, the spinning wheel goes for about 15 seconds before I can search a contact. I can seach for a contact just fine using spotlight, but I am not accustom to this and am using it more as a workaround. I have about 3,000 contacts so I don't think this is some sort of volume issue. On spotlight, it searches fast, just if I click on contacts while in Outlook does it seem to take forever before I can start searching. Once I'm past the 15 seconds of waiting, it operates as one would expect. if I click on calendar or mail and then right back to contacts, I'll need to wait again. Has anyone experienced this? Any suggestions on how to resolve it?

It has been quite some time since this question has been asked, and like many others, I have scoured the net looking for a solution and I believe that I have found one.
I deleted the Outlolok preferences out of ~/Library/Preferences and restarted Outlook. Behold, the problem was gone. Until I switched the sorting of the Contacts from the default "Name" to "Last Name". When I did that, the problem came back. In fact, if I changed the sorting to anything other than "Name", the delay would reappear. I tested this on three different MacBooks and the results were replicated across all three.
If you are still having this problem, check to see how your contacts are sorted. It would be interesting to know if this "fix" helps anyone else.

Why would someone not receive my acceptance notification being sent from Outlook Mac 2011?

I am using Microsoft Outlook for Mac 2011, version 14.1.2 (110505) on Mac OS X 10.6.8.
When I accept a meeting invitation, my My Day window and my Outlook Calendar are both instantly populated with the event however the sender of the meeting does not receive confirmation of my acceptance. The acceptance auto-sent-message independently presents itself into my Outlook Deleted Items folder. The same happens when I click Tentative and Decline.
How can I ensure the organiser is notified of my R.S.V.P.? How do I make sure they receive my notification?
The Preferance pane settings for Notifications & Sounds doesn't indicate any hint as to what would be the obvious reason other than to display an alert on my desktop, bounce the Outlook icon in the Dock, have sounds assigned to mailbox behaviours, and have the ability to reset alerts.
Has anyone else experienced this problem? How did you resolve it?

This info is for a PC, must be similar for a MAC, you can find it here, open Link, click help top right and scroll down to the section "Some files didn't sync"

Try the following actions:
Verify that the battery power level of your BlackBerry device is 20% or higher. Syncing will not begin if the battery level is lower than 20%. Your battery level indicator appears at the top of the home screen on your device.
If you are trying to sync your music, pictures, videos, or documents between your computer and your BlackBerry PlayBook tablet, you must connect your tablet to your computer using a USB cable.

This is from a Microsoft Answers forum - it deals with both Entourage and Outlook:
Error -50
An unknown error (-50) occurred
One user found this solution: Run "Remove Office", then run Repair Permissions. Install from your CD and apply all updates. Restart and then run Repair Permissions again.
Another cause for this error was found by J. Gorman: I had a semicolon in my outgoing server name.
Another user reported this fixed the issue for them: Try creating a new Entourage identity and setting up your email account. When the email address is verified with the new identity and you receive your e-mail, then try switching back to the identity that you had a problem with and check your mail. This solved the problem for me.
Christoph Nadig, reported this solution: I found old mails in my outbox that were never delivered (for an unknown reason), but everytime I wrote a new mail, Entourage tried to send them again, leading to a -50 error everytime. Deleting these old entries in my outbox resolved the problem.
