MS Project 7 Day Calendar

Hello,
I have an Oil and gas project whereby the offshore campaign will be a 7days a week work week. I have changed the default calendar to 7 days a week. However, when i set the task to the 7day calendar the duration of the working days is decreasing. eg. the
standard calendar 52 weeks = 260 Working days (5working days x 52).
When changing to a 7 day calendar the duration of working days decreases 52 weeks = 185days.
What i would actually like to represent is that for the 52 weeks they will be working 7days a week. e.g working days will be 364days.
Cheers,
Neiman37

Hi,
If we want to set the 7date as working date per week, we need to change the Saturday and Sunday property first. Please see the below image:

All day calendar events not being displayed in the notification centre for iphone 5 post ios 7 upgrade. Please help. Is it a bug?
With iOS 6, the all day events showed up in the notification centre but it lacks in the upgrade iOS 7.

Same problem here. Some people pointed out that all-day events do show up in their notification center, but that seems only to be the case for birthdays (and only as text like the weather). I've tried it myself on my iPhone and iPad and it did work for birthdays but not for any other all-day events. I already sent this to Apple as a product feedback as well, as should everyone of you. The more people mention it, the faster Apple's going to fix this issue. In its current state, notification center is not a very helpful feature in my opinion. There's absolutely no point in not showing all-day events in the 'today' calendar overview.
Here's a link to the product feedback page: http://www.apple.com/feedback/
I posted my message in the iPhone section since I couldn't find a page specifically dedicated to iOS 7.
I really love the look & feel of iOS 7 but it's kinda sad to see notification center not tapping its full potential.
    Cheers!

  • How can I share a project specific calendar I created on Entourage 2008 ?

How can I share a project specific calendar I created on Entourage 2008 without showing my personal calendar? I created a project specific calendar using Entourage 2008 for Mac. I want to add someone that uses Outlook from a PC. We are in the same exchange network.  I have added this person in under the sharing tab, but don't see a way to invite her to view it, and it does not appear on her Outlook list of shared calendars. I was able to invite her to view my main calendar, but not the project specific one. Any suggestions?

  • How can I print a month calendar without the times of day from the day calendar

The obvious way to put items into iCal is via the day calendar. But I want to print the calendar as one month to a page and there I do not want the times of day.

It seems like a simple solution must be at hand. There is an option in the iCal Preferences (General) panel--Show event times. With this command unchecked the screen view of the month view is free of the times of day, but when I print the month view the times of day are printed.

  • Why are all-day calendar events not appearing in the Notification Center?

I've noticed that all-day Calendar events do not appear in the Notfication Center in iOS. This is a glaring omission and I'm not sure if it's related to a bug or is intentional but it should be fixed right away. Why in the world would you leave out an all-day event from the Notification Center? What if I had a wedding anniversary or some other important event to remember?

IOS / is no out for a couple of weeks and Apple seems to be reluctant to fix this problem. As a business device it becomes rediculous to be not able to see my calender entries anymore in the notification center. Is Apple now leaving the business arena and focusing on toys ?

  • Project Specific Calendar

    Hi Experts,
My requirement is to fetch certain data for an associate based on his working hours in a project . For this i would require a project specific calendar . I have gone through SCAL & RZ23N which give me standard country specific calendars. This would not suffice my need as all projects in my organization donot have the same freedays or holidays,so please suggest me a way where by i could obtain project specific calendars.
    Thanks In Advance,

  • All-day calendar entries and daylight savings time

Since changing to daylight savings time, whenever I change the date on an all-day calendar entry, my iPad (but not my iPhone) changes the one-day calendar entry to a two-da calendar entry. How do I correct this?

Dates are represented internally with a long that represents the number of milliseconds past some fixed point. Timezones do not affect this.
I'm assuming you're getting your dates as java.sql.Date
You should then build a Calendar (see GregorianCalendar) and call setTimeZone() with your timezone without daylight savings

so, i am not able to anything with that document.
any one help me "how to reset the century from 19 to 20".

    Already resolved!
Turns out that the email also contained an address. Since the address was not on new lines; the location in the event had new lines coded in it. Exchange doesn't like this!
So; copied the address in the event; cleared it, pasted it back (removes line breaks?!) and then wahoo: sync!

  • Work Day Calendar - Manufacturing and Shipping have different requi

    Hi  -
We have a business requirement to open up some Saturdays for order entry and shipping.  However, we will not be manufacturing on those Saturdays and do not want MRP to plan receiving or manufacturing on those days.  Any workarounds to handle this scenario when shipping and manufacturing use same work day calendar with different schedules?
    Thanks in Advance,
    Rich

    Hello Rich,
    Please navigate to following path,
    MRP>>Planning Parameters>>Repetitive planning parameters >>Use,
If it Uses "Calendar dates" then there will no problem for the exception that you create in work day calendar.
But if it used "Work dates" then MRP will consider the exception applied to work day calender.
    The explanations are as below
    • Work dates: Calculate the repetitive planning periods using workdays. This
allows the periods to shift out due to holidays. If a start date falls on a holiday,
the start date is changed to the next valid working day. Each repetitive
planning period consists only of valid working days.
    • Calendar dates: Calculate the repetitive planning periods using calendar days.
This allows you to fix the length of the periods regardless of the timing of
holidays (non-workdays). A repetitive planning period can start on a holiday
    and include holidays.
You can find more on this in Bill of material user guide
    Thanks,

  • Working day calendars

My kids school runs a 7 working day calendar:  assume Monday is WD1 (working day 1) then the following week tuesday is WD7...meaning following week Wednesday becomes WD1.  This is a pain !  Does anyone know how to load a 7 working day week to the 5 working day week...or is there an app that can do this ?

There is no normal calendar that works that way. It is essentially an eight-day week. Was this schedule developed by the same folks that dreamed up Common Core?
You could set a Repeating event called WD1, WD2, etc that repeats every 8 days. Set them to repeat until end of school year.
What do they do about holidays. Do they lose a work day, or does it just occur on the next allowable work day?
If that is the case, you'd have to break the repeat on the holiday, then start new repeating events after the holiday.
Also, you'll have to interrupt it for whatever they determine to be the weekend. Once you get the basic workweek set up in Calendar, you could then copy each event and paste into the next start date for that sequence. Still a PITA.
Does the school publish a shared calendar? They should. Everyone could subscribe to it and see which days are what based on that calendar.

  • Project Resource Calendars for onshore and offshore (different working hours)

    Advice please.
As with many companies we use Project 2010 with onshore and offshore resources.
    Facts are as follows:
    Onshore resource – 09:00 – 17:00 – 35 hour week
    Offshore resource – 08:00 – 18:00 – 40 hour week
These resources are in different time zones; however that element is not an issue.
The problem seems to be with resource calendars.  Resource calendars are setup as per above and assigned to appropriate resources in EPM/Project Server 2010 - however could be local for same issue.
The problem is that work is reflected correctly in hours or days but not both.
So looking at Task usage table.
    For example:
Typing in hours for Onshore and Offshore resources on any task is correct.
So 7 for onshore and 9 for offshore.  However when you can the work view in options so that work is entered in days, its incorrect for offshore.
Same hours for both but incorrect days.  Basically the resource calendar does not seem to have an impact.
The Plan default working times can be set to either schedule but either way one or the other type of resource is out.
For instance :  Offshore resource 9 hours should equate to 1day. However it equates to 1.29 days.
Which would be correct if that resource was on an onshore cal.
    My assumption is as follows:
Set the Project default hours to 08:00 – 18:00 – 9 hour days, 40 hour week.
This allows offshore to work there hours as the project plan is effectively open for business.
Onshore resources should then be restricted to their resource calendar meaning that they only work 7 hours per day regardless of the plan indicating 9 hour days.
    Hope that makes sense...
Any thoughts would be much appreciated…..
    -CL.

    Hi,
Everything you write is right, and your confusion only stems from the misunderstanding of how Project defined the "day" as a time unit.
Matter of fact, Project uses for its calculations only ONE time unit which is the MINUTE.
Of course, that implies the HOUR is a usable unit as well - an hour being 60 minutes isn't questioned by anyone.
OTOH, your post illustrateds tha a definition for  day is not so obvious; Project's definition is that a day is always equal to an hour times the parameter "hours per day" in the options. So what a day is, is totally independent from any calendar, Project,
Resource or Task calendar. Within that definition the values you see are "right".
But the good news is that your other assumption, quote:
Onshore resources should then be restricted to their resource calendar meaning that they only work 7 hours per day regardless of the plan indicating 9 hour days.
That is true. Work is planned according to available working time in the appropriate calendar.
My advice is to not use the day as planning unit in any view: the hour will better allow to understand how Project is planning the tasks.
    Greetings,

  • Project 2010 Calendar not working as expected

I have created a custom 9/80 working calendar for our company.  We work Monday - Friday 7am to 12pm, 12:30 to 4:30 with every other Friday off.
I have assigned this calendar to the Project File and even indicated under File, Options that the standard day is 9hr, not the default 8hrs.  I also changed the default start to 7:30 and end 4:30.
But when I create tasks, link them, etc.... a one day task is showing the start time as 8am and end time at 8am the next day. What am I missing?

When you say " I also changed the default start to 7:30 and end 4:30", are you talking about the
project information in the project tab? You're supposed to be able to specify only one of the parameters (start date or finish date) depending if you're back-planning or not.
Check if the option "ignore resource calendar" on the task if checked.
    Also try to press F9.
Are the task manually scheduled? Do you have constraints on the tasks?
Maybe share a screenshot so it'll be easier to help you.
    Hope this helps,

  • "All-Day" Calendar Rules?

I am using my iPhone 5s (iOS 7.1.1) with an Outlook Exchange Server.  When I go to the Calendar App and view the list of daily activities, I noticed some weird rules that the calendar uses which I can't figure out.  Here is what I mean:
If an appointment is all-day, then the list view shows it as all-day.  If the number of hours of the appointment is under 4 hours, it will show it in list view as the time.  For example, it will say, 3:30PM - 5:30PM.  If the appointment is more than 4 hours but during the day, it seems to show the hours but if the appointment is at night, it will show the appintment as "all-day" but then once I click on it to view details, it says the appointment is actually from 4-8PM.  But then on weekends it seems to show hours without doing the all-day thing, unless of course it is an all-day appointment and then it will show it as all-day.
    Anyone else noticing this?
Does this related to my workday setting in Outlook?  I currently have my work hours set to 8-5PM.  Any chance someone knows the rules that the cal app follows and can share them?
    Appreciate the help!

So just when I beginning to think 10.9.4 "fixed" this, there still seems to be issues. It does seem that the calendar notifications are at least not stepping on each other as much. By that, I mean that sometimes in the past there could be a notification lost by a new notification even though the max number of 10 has not been reached. That "lost" one could be a notification at the bottom of the FIFO stack or, curiously, one in the "middle"  or "top" of the stack. Weird.  Saw the latter twice today.
However, I am always listening to iTunes when I am working on my machine. iTunes is also sending notifications of the next thing it is playing. It seems as if when that new iTunes notification comes about the same time as the next calendar notification, the previous calendar notification is over-written by calendar. A clue? (As I wrote that, calendar just over-wrote a notification even though the max stack of 10 wasn't reached and iTunes hadn't sent a notification - what the heck?)
Still not sure if the "sleep problem" is fixed (when notifications are issued during sleeping, notifications are lost much below the max value of 10 - overall as if it loses how big the FIFO stack is).
When an app acts seemingly randomly, it is very irritating.

  • "All Day" Calendar issue between Lotus Notes, iPad & iPhone

I use only the Exchange sync feature to sync my corporate account with both my iPad and iPhone and both on iOS 4 latest releases. All my calendar entries (irrespective of which device I enter it on) sync flawlessly between all 3 devices. Except when I enter a multiple "All Day" event!
The computer and iPad display the correct start and end dates for the "All Day" events (so it is not a syncing issue), but the iPhone insists on shifting everything 1 day forward!
Any ideas why the iPhone does this although all other calendar entries are correct? I suspect this is something very specific in the iPhone calendar coding.

Did you ever manage to work out what was happening with this?
