MS Word Compatibility Report

I am receiving an issue within Word when trying to save a document. When saving, Word wants me to run a "compatibility report". The issue I am having with this report is that I get the same results each time: "results of word 6.0/95 compatibility options are set". I have followed the instruction to set the default compatibility to "Microsoft Word 2000 - 2004 and X" but still receive the same error message. Is there a way to have the word document save without having compatibility issues?

    When I create a document in Word, I know I have to save it as a .doc file in order for it to be readable on a pc; however, every time I do this, as I go to save the compatability report shows that there is an issue: Word 6.0/95 compatability options are set. In order to remedy the problem just as the report instructs me, I go to Word - Preferences - Compatability - and under recommended options, I choose Microsoft Word 2000-2004 and X, and then I click ok. But when I run the compatability report again, it STILL says the options are set at Word 6.0/95 when clearly I just changed them? Can anyone help?
    Also, in the process of trying to fix this, I may have chosen Microsoft 2000-2004 and X as the default settings. What are the default settings and how do I get back to them / do I need to?
    (reasons for the needed compatability: I'm a student typing notes on a mac, and have free printing from the library pc's).

    The mixed unit values will be displayed as * (by default unless its changed).
    ERR comes if unit is not maintained.

  • Compatibility reporter says none of my add-ons will work wwith FF4, is this possible?

    I think "compatibility reporter" can't be right. I have updated add-ons that claim to be compliant with FF4 but "c/r" says none of my add-ons will work.

  • PDF From MS Word 2010 Reported Bug Still Exists

    I need to create a PDF file today that contains images in a MS Word 2010 document.  There is a bug in Acrobat XI Professional  that I reported months ago.  This bug is still here, and now I need help.  Can anyone tell me what I can do to fix this issue?
    Here is what happens, and I just reproduced this problem I found awhile back.  As I stated, I did report it, but this issue is still here!
    I am creating a user guide for software.  I insert BMP images that are screen shots.  On any page where a BMP image exists within Word, the resulting PDF document does not allow selecting of text in Acrobat Reader XI.  The selection goes totally insane and highlights random text through the entire page.  This is a software defect for certain.
    My question is can I easily fix this with minimal time?  I had to fix this last time by removing all images from MS Word and instead pasting the image in Acrobat XI.  When I do this, selecting text works.  The problem with this bug work-around is that this take lots of time (that I do not have).
    Help please???

    I found something even better.  There is a non Adobe PDF creator on my office computer that correctly creates a PDF.   The issue is within PDF creation, because I am using Acrobat Reader XI and selecting text with no problem at all.
    I did not have to change a thing other than not use Adobe Acrobat Professional to create the PDF.  The software that works correctly where Adobe's own fails is called PDF Xchange Driver by Tracker Software Products LTD.
    ...and as I already stated, I reported this issue many months ago...

  • Can't create Word Document report - need help

    Hi,
    I have been trying to create a report using a word document. I downloaded an example from ni.com that has Export_Info.vi. When I try to run it I get this error:
    Error 1003 occurred at Open VI Reference in New Report.vi->Export_Info.vi
    I traced the error back to New Report.vi which is a VI that comes with the LabView package. There is a Open VI reference that when it tries to open Word_Open.vi gives an error. So for some reason I can not open Word_Open.vi without an error, and it comes with the Report generation office library.
    Does anyone know what could the problem be?
    I tried reinstalling everything and i still keep getting the same error. This makes it impossible to create a report now.
    Any help would be VERY appreciated.

    Yes I have it installed. When I went to open up Word_Open.vi it opened with an error and it said that the property was not valid.

  • Control checkbox form field in word with report generation toolkit for Microsoft office

    Happy New Year!
    I insert in the word template the check box form field. It has a bookmark name "Check1".
    Now I'm trying to checked or unchecked this field using the report generation toolkit for Microsoft office and I couldn't. If anyone now how to do it? I'm using LabView 8.0

    The Microsoft Office Toolkit does not have support for checking/unchecking check box forum field. You would have to research the activex functionality that enables this to be checked or unchecked and then do the activex calls yourself. I did hear of one csutomer who used a special font to write a blank box or a checkbox into a word document and changed it that way as well.

  • Word compatibility for RH8?

    I've been using RH X5.02 (Build 801) for some time. I frequently create printed documentation using Microsoft Word 2003. Recently, our tech support team finally decided to upgrade us all to Office 2007. Of course, now RH won't create printed documentation to Word; I get an error that says RH is not compatible with the new version of Word. I've installed all the RH updates that seem relevant to no avail. In the meantime, I've had to revert back to using Word 2003 to create printed documentation. However, the tech support team is telling that I will have to upgrade to Word 2007 soon due to company-wide compatibility issues. Here's what I want to know:
    1) Am I missing an update that will allow me to use Word 2007 with RH X5? If so, which one?
    2) Do I need to upgrade RoboHelp to a newer version to be able to create printed documentation with Word 2007? If so, which version of RH will work?
    3) What versions of Word are compatible with RH8 for making printed documentation?

    I have installed the Apex 4.0 with Oracle 10g database.
    Now using Apex if I create any web application, and develop some reports in the web application.

    2) Does those components needs licensing ? or are they free like Apex 4.0 ?

  • Transfering word data to word template report

    Hello,
    Could someone help me here please:  I have a draft report generated from an equipment (see attached document name draft report.doc). I need to transfer data from this draft to a template ( see attached doc named template. doc), and this should look like the final report (see attached doc named final report.doc).
    I tried this (see the attached code), it seems to work but I am not able to get transfer the image (the graph) and also I need the right formating as shown on the example of the attached final report.
    Any help will be appreciated.

    For the formatting you can use the Set Font Report.vi with font settings calibri size 8. Extracting a picture from a Word document to insert it into another Word document is not a simple task that can be accomplish with the VIs of the Report Generation Toolkit. You will have to use Word ActiveX methods and properties. Attached is a vi that copy the first picture of the draft report and copy it to the Image1 bookmark (there are no Image bookmarks define in your template so you will have to add them) of the template report.
    Note, your template report should be a .dot file, not a .doc file.

    If not, does a more recent version have support for creating Word document as a report?

    Is there a way to create Microsoft word document from Forms/Reports? Is it possibble that the user enters some parameters and data is feteched from the database and a .doc file is created? Any suggestions using Oracle Forms/Reports are welcome. I tried using OLE in forms but couldn't get what I wanted. Can bookmarks and a template in Word play any role in here?
    (I am not looking for RTF documents. A RTF file genrated by ORACLE reports has all the frames for the boilerplates and fields and it is not really practical to edit that file without really messing it up)

    It sure looks relevant. I will go through it and see what it has. However, I guess Oracle does not do QA on their documents. The page footer says Oracle Forms to Microsoft Excel. In any case, the approach should not be much different.
