MS Word not working properly after Acrobat install

I installed Acrobat XI Pro a few days ago. Now when I open MS Word I get a constantly running "wait" icon. I can use the program minimally, but it is extremely sluggish. I tried disabling the Acrobat Addin - no difference. I tried repairing my Word program - no difference. I tried printing to Adobe PDF printer (which worked fine) and surprise, the constantly running wait icon disappeared and Word worked normally. But the next time I opened Word the problem returned. I tried removing Adobe PDF printer from my list of printers - no difference. I then went back to the original Acrobat installation. I can now use Word in a limited way if I select the Adobe PDF printer first, but my regular Canon printing program isn't functioning properly. Help please!!!  (I'm using Office 2007.)

  • Word not working properly after W7 upgrade

    Word is acting exactly like it did on my old machine before I purchased my new PC three months ago....I use Office 2003.....the Thesaurus won't work, when I click Page Setup it says Not Responding for some time before it finally pops up the Page Setup box, and other things like that where it says not responding.  I am getting frustrated.  I bought a new computer and ever since the W7 upgrade, I've only had problems.  The printer in QB won't work, and other annoying things.  Everything takes longer than it used too....just opening My docs and clicking on a folder takes too long, etc.
    Forgot to mention that now my Syncback back up won't work and when the computer goes to sleep, I have to click my mouse and enter button about 20 times before the monitor will show anything and then it says I entered the wrong PW for my login.
    Outlook gives me problems too -- not opening sometimes, etc.

  • Aluminum Wireless Keyboard not working properly after Firmware update 1.1

    Hi,
    Well, as the subject says, my keyboard is not working properly after I updated the firmware. The problem is that several keys (delete, down arrow, brackets and apostrophe) stopped working right after I installed the update. I never dropped it or hit it. And I did not stop or interrupt or did anything during the install. I take very good care of it.
    I have already tried toubleshooting with the support page, restarting the iMac, taking off the batteries, setting it up with bluetooth again, going back a week with time machine and to reinstall the firmware. So, if you have something new for me to try, I will really apreciate it.

    I have 24" iMac with the Apple wireless M&KB - I know this is basic but have you tried a fresh set of batteries? My KB will refuse to establish connection when batteries are on the weak side the firmware update may just be a co incidents. If your wireless mouse is working OK then I would guess the blue tooth is functioning.
    Not sure about the 10.49 download - are your other file downloads completing properly? Are there any error messages?

    iTunes is not working properly after the newest update...  It dosen't see my iPhone, the program acts very sluggish, and has trouble loading the Store.  Anyone have a solution or an explanation?  I have tried the suggestions found in other threads ie. restart, re-download, charge phone, restart phone and so on.     Close your iTunes,
    Go to command Prompt -
    (Win 7/Vista) - START/ALL PROGRAMS/ACCESSORIES, right mouse click "Command Prompt", choose "Run as Administrator".
    (Win XP SP2 & above) - START/ALL PROGRAMS/ACCESSORIES/Command Prompt
    In the "Command Prompt" screen, type in
    netsh winsock reset
    Hit "ENTER" key
    Restart your computer.
    If you do get a prompt after restart windows to remap LSP, just click NO.
    Now launch your iTunes and see if it is working now.
    If you are still having these type of problems after trying the winsock reset, refer to this article to identify which software in your system is inserting LSP:

    did you apply any updates or upgrades just prior to the problem occurring?
    are you running a "managed" or "referenced" library?
    what type of Mac?
    how much free space on your boot drive?

    Have you tried a battery pull?  If the issue is still there, you can either take it to the store or downgrade your software to the previous version to troubleshoot.

    The OKCupid app. notifications is not working properly since I installed iOS 5.
    Worked fine before I installed iOS 5 - now does not right.
    Used to work right, and I got notifications, but no longer.

    Looks like memory problem after the new  updates or anything else?

    Similar complains around the web. I'd recommend getting the phone flashed at a care point to see if that improves the situation.
    Do wait for a couple of weeks for the full firmware files to be available at the respective care centers. AFAIK, they are not yet available in India.

    running the update again with all firewire devices
    unplugged.
    While the 828 is disconnected perform the factory
    reset
    again.
    Disconnect the firewire cable from the 828mkII
    -Press the Setup knob
    -Turn the Setup knob all the way to the right
    -Press the Select knob
    -Press the Value knob
    -Power off the interface and plug the firewire cable
    back
    in
    -Power the interface back on
    i have the original 828 not mark 2, so no reset i know of, just power on off.
    After the Mac updates... reboot and plugin the 828,
    see if that doesn't get you going.

  • Smart Actions not working properly after software update

    My Razr updated 2 days ago and since then my Smart Actions are not working properly. 
    I have my Work action set to turn the volume down when I'm at a certain GPS.  It shows that "Work" is active, but doesn't turn the volume down.
    Also, there are times (since I've owned the phone) that it will not connect to the network after coming off a Wifi Connection without rebooting the phone.  I took it into a Verizon store and they did a hard reset, and that fixed it for a time, but it started doing it again. 
    Any help appreciated.

        Hi mcclainkb, Let's make sure your phone works as you expect it to! Have you tried removing the Smart Action and setting it back up again?  Are your other GPS services working as normal?  After the hard reset performed in the store did you install all of the same application that you had before?

  • Applications not working properly after updating t...

    After eventually updating to symbian Anna, I've noticed that some applications are not working properly, notably AccuWeather and Facebook. Uninstalled AccuWeather and re-installed it but still didn't work . Seems pointless releasing a software update and then to discover that applications from Ovi store won't work on your device! With Facebook I can only login in to my account but when I go to view a friend etc, it shuts down. 
    Has anyone any suggestions or solutions to the problem?

    i updated to the latest version 025.007 on my E7 too and a lot of the apps on the store dont work. Just blank screens.
    Somebody do something!!
    I use other devices, and havent faced this problem with any of them after an upgrade!

  • Plug and play speakers not working properly after upgrading to Windows 8.1

    After upgrading to Windows 8.1, my plug and play speakers do not work properly.  I have uninstalled and reinstalled them, and restarted.  When I try to play music, nothing comes out.  If I turn them off and back on, music will play for approximately 30 seconds, only from one speaker, then it turns off and fades to no sound.  They worked fine until I upgraded to Windows 8.1.  The manufacturer has not been able to successfully assist me.  Has anyone else reported a similar issue after upgrading OS software?  Any suggestions?  These are fairly new speakers, less than 2 years old, and not used very much.  I do have them installed via a K-V switch, and all other devices linked to the K-V switch are functioning properly (monitor and wireless keyboard).  Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

  • Photoshop not working properly after new installation

    I have a brand new Dell desktop that runs windows 8. I installed the Adobe Creative Suite 5.5 Master Collection and got a message saying that there were errors during installation and some things might not work properly. I uninstalled and did it a second time. Same message.
    I then spoke with an  Adobe agent that helped me download a program to detect what the errors were. He said they were minor issues and shouldn't affect the programs. No help there.
    I then spent hours today speaking with Dell on the phone and the rep took remote control of the computer and did a diagnostics check on the hardware. He said everything is fine. I asked him if it might be the video card needing an update so he ran an update. Same issues, no change.
    We changed the compatability to windows 7 and still no change.
    I then uninstalled the creative suite and tried installing it from the desktop. Still same problems.
    These are the issues in photoshop:
    1)When using certain tools (transform tool, crop tool) the images goes completely black.
    2) The background switches at random- sometimes checkered, sometimes grey, and sometimes black.
    3) Color saturation is incorrectly represented. It switches whenever it wants. For instance, when I zoom in and out it changes.
    In Adobe Bridge some of the RAW images don't show in the program. Some I just can't open. Others open fine. Those images will open in Photoshop but not in Bridge.
    So I have no idea what to do and this is becoming extremely frustrating. I should add I haven't had any problems with Lightroom and it works fine as far as I can tell.
    What could be causing these issues? Could the install CD be damaged?

    I turned off the GPU in Photoshop's preferences as you suggested and everything seems to work properly now in Photoshop. In Adobe bridge the files are also all showing now and there doesn't seem to be the same issue there either.
    I also tried enabling the GPU and changing it to Basic and it continues to work, but when it is changed to advanced when enabled the problems arise again.
    So it seems as though the problem is with the video card or its driver as you said. I am not 100% sure that the Dell rep updated the driver from AMD but I am pretty sure he did. I did go to the AMD website and ran a program to detect if the driver needs to be updated and it resulted in a message saying that the driver is up to date and current.
    As you said this is just a temporary solution and I want to make sure I have a working GPU system. What do you think the problem is then? How would you suggest I proceed? Should I contact Dell and tell them the problem seems to be with the installed video card?
