Ms word tables borders and shading

I'm using the "word tables borders and shading.vi" and trying to put a border around the first row including between columns and the "inside line style" active x function in the word_set_table_borders.vi is being ignored. The file is attached. Open the library and run the word table.vi. You will have to create test.doc on the root directory on the hard drive. Any suggestions?

I ran your code and it worked fine. The top row of the table had a darker rectangle around it. I did have problems opening the file and it crashed my LV at first. I suspect there may be a corruption in the binary executable of the VI. Try pressing control-shift-run arrow on your top level VI to force LabVIEW to rebuild the binary executable of the VI.

Hi There,
Attached is a snipet of code that I use to programmatically shade selected cells of a large table in Word.
This code seems to sporadically shade the wrong cells.
- Sometimes it is as though it switches to indexing from 1 rather than 0.
- Sometimes LV shades whole regions of the table when only a single cell / column / row is specified.
- Sometimes it is not possible to replicate an error when stepping through the code.
- Sometimes increasing the delay within the FOR loop fixes it, sometimes it doesn't.
- Sometimes altering the parts of the document before or after the table has an effect on whether it works or not.
Has anyone had any experience of this, and can shed some light on it?

Select the different objects then
Arrange > Group

Insert a rectangular shape.
Go to Inspector > Graphic
define the fill color
Stroke > Picure Frame
adjust the width and the color
Arrange > Send object to the background
From time to time, it's useful to look in the Help or in the PDF Users Guide.

I have updated to ios5 and latest pages and it has changed table borders and header colours etc, the colour I was using was imported and there border lines are v thick, help has made my docs look rubbish

I have updated o iOS 5 and updated my pages but it as altered my documents, layout, and tables, changing header row colour and thickness of border lines, some thick some thin within same table, if I put default it puts all the lines back, but I only wan them in 2 out f the 4 columns, If I try to change each section then I have to select all borders as default does the whole table, but if I chose all then the order lines are all thick is there any way of changing thickness of lines, and also does anyone know how to pu in a table of contents? I'm currently having to manually put in the info in the table which is v long. Thank you very much

Can't edit Padding (in Borders and Shading) for paragraph style in .CSS

Can someone please explain why I can't define the padding of
a solid box when editing paragraph styles of a .CSS?
Running RH 7.02.
I can edit the padding if I select the style from within a
topic. When I attempt to edit the style in a .CSS, the Padding
button is disabled.

At least it's comforting to know it's not just me ...

Word table boarder conversion problems with shaded cells

Hi
We are using Adobe Acrobat 9 and Word 2003
When one of our users converts a document that contains word tables that have shading in them some of the cell boarders are missing on the PDF.
If you remove the shading and convert the document the table boarders are displayed correctly.
Does anybody have any idea if this is a known issue with Acrobat or is there a setting that needs to be chnaged to get this to work?

Dreamweaver CS4 - Can't see table cells and borders

Hello you all. I just started using CS4 and whenever there is a white background I can't see any of the table cell or main borders.
I went to View>Visual Aids>Table Borders and it is on, but I can't seem to find the area I need to change the color to view it on white.

I just remember the previous versions would allow you to change the dotted line color that indicated the table and cell borders.
Must say I can't ever remember that being a preference in any previous version of DW.
Sadly, it looks like I will be using tables to set up my site. Haven't adopted CSS as much as I'd like at this point.
Now's as good a time as any to start with CSS from the ground up.
Try one of the pre-made templates in DW under File > New

HTML Printing with JEditorPane table borders is missing...

My application prints HTML reports that was rendered on a JEditorPane,
actually the printing is working fine (almost)...
After reading a lot of posts and the Printing API i've found a very god aproach to print HTML documents... the DocumentRenderer:

I'm having a strange problem that I was unable to figure out by myself...
Table borders and table background images never get printed...
ex: <TABLE BORDER=1 ...
<td background="image.gif" ...
On the JEditorPane it shows just fine but, when the page is printed there's no border or table background pictures...
Everything else is printed ok including images, small fonts, etc...
Does anyone else had the same problem ?

The borders present an interesting problem created by the way the DocumentRenderer class finds for printable Views in the HTML. DocumentRenderer searches recursively down the tree of Views starting with the Document's root view looking for leaf views, those with no children. The DocumentRenderer only paints these smallest chunks of text to the printer graphics context. This usually works because leaf views do not usually contain anything paintable.
The problem with borders is that they represent paintable areas of branch views, those with children. When we only print leaf views, these areas get ignored.
I see two logical solotions to the problem:
I. Change the code of the recursive printView method of Document Renderer to print any border that intersects with the current printable clip rectangle.
II. A much more elegant solution would be to print any view, branch or leaf, that fits within the current printable area, and cease the recursion there. This would include the borders.
It would also increase efficiency by terminating the recursive method earlier by painting larger chunks of the HTML. A strange problem pops up when I try this, however. When the size of the chunk to be printed gets too big, nothing is printed at all. In the article this is mentioned in the area of large images. "Lastly, large icons do not print. Java simply refuses to render them on the page. Small icons work quite well, however." The same holds true for any large View.
I have not been able to quantify the exact size where this failure occurs, nor what is causing it. If anyone can tell me what causes this problem, it should be fairly easy, depenging on the cause of the problem, to rewrite the class to print borders and also does lots of other good stuff. I have already coded the new and improved printView method, but this size limitation has made it unworkable.
Simply stated, if I can figure out why the class does not print large icons, the rest should be easy.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.

From Word DOC to Acrobat PDF... borders and lines get screwed up.

I've been looking this up for days now and have yet to find a solution.
I have a MS Word document that has a bunch of tables with borders and sometimes just text with borders for stylistic reasons. In Word, it all looks perfect.
But, when I convert it to PDF using Acrobat, many of those borders get screwed up in various random ways.
Sometimes certain borders get thicker, sometimes thinner, sometimes invisible altogether. Sometimes it's only certain lines of the same border (just the left side, or just the top). I see no real pattern to what's causing it to only happen in certain cases only.
What makes it extra annoying is that if I zoom in or out a certain amount, the borders will look the way they are supposed to look. Some will look perfect at 100% zoom only, and some will look perfect at 75% zoom only.
This has been driving me insane. Does anyone have any idea how I can fix this?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

When laying out tables in Word, I like to use thin horizontal lines (cell borders) and thick-ish white vertical lines. The vertical white cell borders create a subtle negative space that is less cluttered than the typical boxed-in-all-sides style.
Issue 1.
In Pages, horizontal cell borders seem to take precedence over vertical cell borders so my vertical white line trick doesn't work. Is there a way to force my vertical white cell borders to "show up" over my think black horizontal cell borders?

So, for the time being, I'm not using vertical white cell borders in tables; instead, I set the vertical cell borders to "none." I checked and here, aftere defining a new default format with vertical lines set to none, this format is used when I cvreate a new table.
But the same with horizontal lines doesn't apply.

Assuming that you have placed a table in your document and your CSS Designer panel is open
1. Click the '+' sign
2. Choose your option. I will choose 'Define in Page'
3. Follow the above sequence, 1.click on table, 2.ensure table is selected, 3.click on style, 4.click the '+' sign, 5. see the selector appear.
4. Click on the selector and choose the required Properties.
You can do the same for the row (<tr>) or a cell (<td>). In fact, this is how you would go about styling anything in your document.

How to point at a word table using forms Ole and Word Document

I like to know how to position at a word table and send data from a forms module using ole. I have done something similar before using bookmarks.It's easy and it works. My requirement now is to send data from a forms module to a word document, but this time, the word document will have bookmarks and a word table needs to be filled from data from the database. Just don't know how to get , access, reference the word table from forms.
I'm still using forms6i in C/S mode.

Shaded table borders

OK, I have fiddled with the image from the site I'm using as
an example so I better understand now how it works. That image is
700 wide. I'm still having trouble tho in Dreamweaver adding a
repeated border to my centered table 700 wide so that the shaded
borders are exactly on the edges of the table.
Do I have to create my own image? If someone could help me
out with the steps, that would be great. I think I've gone as far
as I can in trying this.

Poor Quality Table borders in PDF

Hello.
I am having problems having the tables borders in Word 2007 look the same in the PDF (using Arobat 9 Pro). The quality is very poor which appears the lines are thicker than in the Word document. I am using 4000 DPI, High Quality print but still looks bad.   Images look good it is just the table borders that are the problem. Do you have any suggestion in improving this? Or is this a problem I have to live with?
