MS14-082 (kb2596927) with return code: 17022

Question

The installation for MS14-082 (kb2596927) was not successful with return code: 17022. What could be the cause why the security did not install? Currently Microsoft
Suite 2007 Service Pack 3 is installed. Thanks in advance!

Hi Sir,
As far as I know, if we get the return code 17022, the update usually has installed successfully and we may need to reboot the pc. Please see the part of KB2596927:

In some cases, this update does not require a restart. If the required files are being used, this update will require a restart. If this behavior occurs, a message is displayed that advises you to restart the computer.

The required files were being used with the special test-machine, thus, the return code was appeared.
Then, do you mind telling me how do you install the update? Install them manually, use deployment tools or deployment scripts?
If you are using deployment tools/scripts, I recommend you download the update to local disk and then install with the special test-machine. We can check it if it is installed successfully in Windows update center (Control Panel\Programs\Programs and Features\View
Installed Updates)
If the update still install failed, we may collect the various logs to do further troubleshooting.
