MSA Conntrans fails after machine name change

Hi
I have 5 remote laptops that have had their name changed and conntrans will no longer work.
When I ran SELECT @@SERVERNAME on database it retunred old name so I then ran
sp_dropserver 'oldname'
sp_addserver 'newname' , local
Stop / start SQL server
SELECT @@SERVERNAME now returns new name . However Conntrans still failing. Is the machine name embedded anywhere else ?
The mobile application does open it appears to be just the conntrans process that will not function.
Has anyone done this before ? Is it possible ?

EPM 11.1.2.3 Install - machine name change problem

Hi,
when I thought I had 99% completed an install a problem was discovered with the machine name, which was changed, is there any simple way to reinvoke the configuration options from the initial install, or to change the entries (config files / xml?) that will store the machine name originally configured??

this is a single machine install, so before trashing and starting over I tried your suggested fix....
EAS now starts but when I try to open the cluster it errors (the cluster still showing the old machine name).
I have tried removing and re-adding but it still fails.
Looking in the logs the only error I see is; -
Severe Port 5300 is already in use
Cause: another instance of the server is running on this machine;
Action shut down the server and then restart it.
I have used the stop scripts but this error does not clear.
Any last suggestions before I trash the install - on which - is this a simple matter with the RDBMS database table contents??

Authentication popups after computer name changed to computer record name

I'm not sure if anyone else is facing this issue, but I have been unable to find anything in the forums.
I have setup a number of client machines on Lion Server, all using 10.7.4. I used WGM and Remote Desktop to make some changes and deploy software
Since then, I have been getting the following authentication popup on all client machines (twice after login, and then every 30 mins or so afterwards):
Mac OS S wants to make changes. Type an administrator's name and password to allow this.
The changes made prior to this happening were:
- Overplay VPN installed (using RD pkg install)
- Adobe CS 5.5 installed (using Adobe Enterprise Deployment Tool and RD package install)
- Evernote installed (using RD copy)
- Set computer name to computer record name (From WGM > Computer Groups > Preferences > Options)
I have now removed all the installed software from one machine, and log in as administrator, unbind the machine, rename the computer manually to the record name, rebind the computer.
As far as I can see, I have reverted all changes one at a time, and am still receiving the admin password requests when logged in as a network user.
The only machine that seems to be ok, is the one where the name change to computer record name was unsuccessful.
Does anyone have any suggestions as to how I can fix this issue?

Issue resolved. It turns out none of my changes caused the issue as much as Google Chrome Autoupdates. The new version constantly checks for updates which makes clients on Lion Server go haywire. Solution to turn off auto-updating:
Open a Terminal window:
defaults write com.google.Keystone.Agent checkInterval 0
Relaunch Chrome.

Cannot contact user after a name change

One of our users got married and changed her last name. My colleagues changed her name and alias in AD and in Exchange, and they changed her email address, keeping the old address as a secondary SMTP address in Exchange. I ran the following command
on the Lync server:
Set-CsUser -Identity "CN=JNewname,OU=HQ,DC=Corp,DC=Com" -SipAddress sip:[email protected]
After the user logged off the Domain and then logged back on, she could log in to Lync and could initiate an IM conversation with me. However, I still cannot contact her. She was never in my favorites list, and when I start typing her new alias,
she shows up in my Lync client with her new name and then "Presence unknown". When I try to initiate an IM conversation with her, my Lync client says "We couldn't send this message because we couldn't find Newname, Jane".
I have tried deleting the Lync local cache from my client machine and still have the same errors. What am I missing with this name change?

Thank you! That must have been what I should have done after I changed the sip address. As it turns out, the contact had started working sometime before you posted this. Does this update process take place automatically over time and the
Update-CsAddressBook command would have forced the update immediately? I had changed the sip address about 2 hours before I posted this question.

Connection Errors to Remote Desktop from OSX after Domain name change

We have an issue using Microsoft Remote Desktop from Macs in our school. All was well until we changed the domain name of our RDS servers and installed a new wildcard certificate. Connections work perfectly in Windows 7/8 and also iOS on iPads, but we cannot
get any Macs to connect having tried OSX 10.7 and 10.9. The error message says the connection failed to load but seems to add a spurious end to the connection string - TS/en-US/Default.aspx - but we cannot trace where this is being picked up.
We can get to the site in a web browser and sign in to receive the "browser not supported" message in Safari so traffic is obviously getting to the severs.
Has anyone else had a similar issue? We have spent days poking around with DNS etc but can't seem to make any progress here.

EM not working Properly after computer name change

i hav 10gr2 DB, everything was fine.
last week my computer name changed, and EM stops to work.
so i reconfigure EM through command line.
after that EM started, but when go to 'Performance' or any other tab in browser.
its asks for login and shows 'oldcomputername:orcl:1521' in connection string.
so whats other things , i hav to change?

Search every file under $ORACLE_BASE for the old name.
Assuming *NIX use find and grep.
Why do people rename servers? A name is a name is a name. All it ever does is cause problems.

NitroX license disabled after computer name change

Hi,
We had to change the network names on several windows development machines containing the Nitrox environment.
After that change Nitrox wouldn't want to start on any of these boxes, failing to reactivate the license ("No activations left for this serial number").
That's certainly caused by Nitrox not recognising the machine it's installed on anymore.
What should we do now ? If only we had access to an admin console where we can control our own licenses it would be so simple.

ITunes won't download to specific folder after iphone name change in iTunes

I accidently changed the name of my iphone on iTunes. I have changed it back to what it used to be named. But, now when I download a song from iTunes on my phone. It will not download it to the specific folder it used to. Now it downloads it to a specific folder called "Purchased on iPad". Songs will stay there until I sync my phone to iTunes on my computer and I click "Transfer purchases". Then it takes them and places them on "Purchansed" tab. After I finish transfering perchases I disconnect my phone and I have to go back into itunes and go to purchased tab and have to redownload them again which go again into "purchased on iPad" folder on my phone and stay there until I sync my phone again to iTunes... its a vicious cycle and driving me nuts. Is there any way to have it downlaod again to my specific folder "purchased on iphone" and keep them there? Hope someone can help.

I actually tried with two other iPod software cds, uninstalling and reinstalling, and nothing is working.
When I go into the library and look for an import button none is to be found!!!

IPhoto can't find original photos after volume name change

I had to reformat my drive and do a fresh install of Mountain Lion. I was pleased that the Migration Assistant imported all the user accounts, apps, etc. from a Time Machine backup. Never could have done *that* with Windows...
However, in iPhoto, I *do not* copy pictures from my Pictures folder into the iPhoto library and iPhoto can't find them. I expect that this is because I changed the volume name when I reformatted the drive, which is embedded somewhere in the iPhoto package in my Pictures folder.
Does anyone know which iPhoto files I can edit or batch edit to change references from the old volume name to the new one? Is this information stored in text or XML files that I can edit or is it embedded in binary files? I thought I might be able to reimport the photos from the current volume and iPhoto would sort out the duplicates (not a great option if I get prompted for each one though...) but I wasn't sure if that would preserver events, faces, etc.
When I try to rebuild the iPhoto library, I get a dialog indicating each file cannot be found on the volume. While it provides an option to browse for the location, this isn't practical due to the 1000's of photos and movies on the drive.
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance!

As OT says, the primary reason not to run a Referenced Library, and, most especially, not one where you have the Library on one Volume and the photos on another.
You're going to have this problem again and again any time you make a change to your hardware set up - including upgrading your machine and so on.
Going forward: Do you have Aperture? This has a command to Locate Referenced Masters which should help. Other than that, how are you at hacking SQL databases? That's what this guy did:

ConnTrans fails after new fields are added to table & bdoc

Hi,
It was required to extend a standard object, which is responsible to create and move ATP data from ERP, to CRM, to Mobile Sales. I came quite far and I thought I have covered everything, but something is missing and ConnTrans has failed. I write down all steps and I hope you can find the missing step
The adapter object CPB_STOCK_INFO is the responsible object for the transport. SMOCP_STOCK is the target table in CRM & MSA.
- I have added a new field to CPSTOCK (ERP).
- I have used R3AC3 to replace the extract module with my own module "Z_..." to fill the additional field on fly
- In the R3AC3 I also have replaced the Mapping Module with my own, which which is able to handle the new field.
- The object CPB_STOCK_INFO gets executed in CRM and the SMOCP_STOCK gets filled as wanted
- I have appended the new field also to the Segment fields of the bDoc CPSTOCK
- I used the ClientConsole to generate & execute the SQL to update the DB sructure in MSA
- If I press now ConnTrans, I get the error message "The application could not prcess some messages related to the BDoc Type CPSTOCK, Run ConTrans to send this information to the server."
What went wrong? Do I need to play around with the SENDBIT thing?
I am not able to find a detailed log file except the ConnTransLog.xml, which does not sure more details!
Additional Info
- MSA is not directly using the CPSTOCK bDoc for data queries. It is calling somehow the bDoc STOCK_QUERY. However, I do not think the MSA state could effect the ConnTrans?!

Hi,
you need to generate also the metadata for the sBDoc CPSTOCK with ClientConsole and replace the tps.net on the Mobile Client.
Only in this case conntrans is able to import these data.

StopWeblogic.sh and startWeblogic.sh fail after weblogic password changed

We had to change the password for the weblogic user and after the change the stop start script are failing. I was reading that if boot.properties file is present, the start/stop scripts do not ask for the weblogic credentials. I could see the boot.properties file under the domain directory but the contents are encrypted. How can we resolve this? Any help is appreciated.

the simplest solution is
- either delete the boot.properties; weblogic will ask you the credentials at the next start
- or edit manually the boot.properties, inserting non-encrypted values; weblogic will encrypt the password at the next start

External access broke after site name change

We have external access to SharePoint 2013 behind a reverse proxy using an ADFS server for authentication. It was working fine until I changed our site name and now externally it gives a 500 error. The event log says there is a problem with AAMs, but this
is a host-named site collection. The default URL for the site is correct. What am I missing here?

According to your description, my understanding is that after changed the site collection hosted name of a hose-named site collection you encountered error
500 when you wanted to access the site collection from external.

I recently changed my name and would like to create a new Apple ID, then merge all the data from my old Apple ID into my new Apple ID. Is that possible, or will I risk losing all my data?

Welcome to the Apple Community.
You shouldn't change your account for iTunes, otherwise you will encounter problems with purchased content.
If you sign out and create a new account for iCloud in system preferences > iCloud and then sign back into your old account as a secondary account at system preferences > mail, contacts & calendars, you can manually transfer any data from one account to the other. Let me know if you need assistance doing this.
