MSDN Subscription Status Other

Hi there,
I am currently unable to access my keys and my account status has become "other". What exactly does this mean? It's not due to expire until 2016.
Thanks

Most of our customers who see "Other" status are VL subscribers and have had their VL Administrator do something to their MSDN Subscription status.  They need to contact their VL Administrator for assitance.  If that doesn't sound like
your situation, you should contact MSDN Subscriptions Customer Service here: http://msdn.microsoft.com/subscriptions/aa948875.aspx
Thanks,
Mike

  • MSDN subscription when obtaining a certification?

I was wondering which Microsoft certifications if any gave an MSDN subscription access.
Today, a coworker was mentioning that upon getting a MS cert, I would get a 1-year MSDN subscription. For now though, I only have one exam passed (70-483). I got the MCP and C# specialist status but I'm pretty sure that's not enough. If I continue and get
an MCSD cert, would that give access to an MSDN account? And if so, it is indeed for 1 year?
    Thanks!

There was a time several years ago when an MSDN subscription was a benefit of getting a developer certification.  But that benefit hasn't been active for several years now.  To the best of my knowledge there is no certification that you can get
that will get you an MSDN subscription.

  • Office 365 Developer Subscription from my MSDN subscription not activating

    Hi,
I have a "Visual Studio Ultimate with MSDN" subscription. As part of the subscription is the bundled "Office 365 Developer Subscription". I tried to activate the subscription 3 months ago but it failed with some temporary error. Now if I
try to reactivate the subscription, it says
"It’s no longer offered by Microsoft.
You’ve already tried this service. You can sign up for a trial only once.
The beta or trial you’re requesting has expired.
The promotion code has already been used."
How do I avail the benefit of the subscription?

    Hi Cindy,
I have already called the support helpline there 3 times and it was of no use. (My company is based in India and our experience for MSDN support here hasn't been that good compared to US support).
I got to this forum here via link on "MSDN TroubleShooting and Support" page (http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-in/hh361695.aspx)
Anyway, I see that this is not the right place, I will look elsewhere.

  • Azure Remote App with MSDN Subscription

    Hello ,
I have an MSDN Subscription with a monthly cap of 50 swiss francs. Reading the RemoteApp licensing details it says:
"Yes. For each App Collection there is minimum requirement of 20 users. If you have less than 20 users, you would still be billed for 20. "
Is this also valid for MSDN subcribers? Yesterday I deployed a RemoteApp Collection, as first I had only read about the per user pricing, so assumed this would work fine, but then the other day I rad the above statement about a minimum of 20 users. So first
I immediately deleted the collection (hope it wasn't too late) but then i wonder how can i test RemoteApp? My trial period has expired, but i would really like to conduct further testing and not really paying for it , at least not for a minimum of 20 users.

    Hi,
Each service has a starting price per user that includes 40 hours of service per user. Thereafter, per hour charge is applied for each user hour up to a capped price per user. You will not pay for any additional usage beyond the capped price in a given month.

    hi Suresh,
As JuneT's said, you could use azure service bus (http://www.windowsazure.com/en-us/documentation/articles/service-bus-dotnet-how-to-use-relay/ ) or
SignalR (http://www.asp.net/signalr/overview/signalr-20/getting-started-with-signalr-20/introduction-to-signalr ) to exchange data in different
subscription in azure cloud service.I recommend you see the demo included the above documents. Also, you could try Signalr sample(https://github.com/SignalR/Samples) and service bus sample( http://code.msdn.microsoft.com/windowsazure/site/search?f%5B0%5D.Type=ProgrammingLanguage&f%5B0%5D.Value=C%23&f%5B0%5D.Text=C%23&f%5B1%5D.Type=Technology&f%5B1%5D.Value=Service%20Bus

  • Azure AD in MSDN Subscription

I have an issue with an imported AD into an MSDN account not being able to be used for things, for example, like the source for VS Online users or subscription co-admins. I *assume* this is because when the Azure account was provisioned, it wasn't tied
to an org account at the time. Can this be verified, and if this is the case, is there any way to "unclaim" the benefit (aka delete the Azure account, what have you) so that the provisioning process can be re-started?

    Hi,
To be able to be used in VSO, the directory must be the default directory, so you may want to make the Directory Default by going to "settings > subscription > edit directory" in the management portal.
I am not sure about which account you are referring to, but the deeply discounted development and test rates that are part of the MSDN dev and test pay-as-you-go offer require every account owner and co-administrator to be MSDN subscribers. (you can login
to the other Subscription and add your org user id into the directory U want to use)
     FYI.
The Azure MSDN benefit is for development and test purposes only and is offered at discounted usage rates. Usage within the Azure MSDN subscription does not carry a financially-backed SLA. We reserve the right to suspend any instance (VM or cloud service)
that runs continuously for more than 120 hours or if we determine that the instance is being used for production. We are making this capacity available to MSDN subscribers on a best efforts basis; there is no guarantee of capacity availability.

  • Free Trial Default Directory Same As MSDN Subscription

    Greetings,
I recently spun up a 30 day trial of Azure to build out an environment and see whether it would be cost effective to use for my own purposes.  When I finished registering, I started to configure my environment, but noticed that the workspace actually
resides in the same workspace as an MSDN subscription account that i occasionally help out on.
I tried to edit the directory that my 30 day trial was in, but it wouldn't let me.  Is this a limitation of the Free Trial?  Is there any way to have a subscription without existing in the same workspace as another?  Any help would be appreciated.

  • Learning path subscription status

We are currently creating a number of learning paths to appear in the catalogue (i.e. not ones belonging to individual learners).
It appears that learning path subscription status is limited to active, cancelled or completed. This means that there is no differentiation between a learner who has been placed (but not yet attended) on a course and one who has not been placed, as both still appear in the learning path as active. Is there a way of creating an additional learning path status to provide this differentiation?
At the moment, the learning path status automatically updates to 'completed' once someone has attended the relevant course/s. Could the status automatically update to the new option once a learner has been placed on a course?
    Many thanks.

    Hi
When you create the Learning Path in the catalogue, you have to create at least one component (course).
When the learner is subscribed into the LP, the status will immediately appear as 'active'. This is indicating that the learning path is now 'active' for this learner. I do not think you can alter this without some sort of customisation.
You have to drill down to the component (course) level to see whether the learner is 'enrolled' in the class or not. This is how the product is intended to work.
Probably not the answer you wanted, but I believe this is correct!
    Regards
    Tim

  • MSDN Subscription & free Licensing

We are going to build development and test environment for MS BI project. We are using SQL Server 2012 for EDW , SSAS for analytics and performance point server(sharepoint) for front end. Our development environment will be remote with 3 servers. SQL
Server and SSAS development server, SQL Server and SSAS test server and Sharepoint server. We are thinking to buy one MSDN subscription. We will use single MSDN subscription to configure all 3 servers (test and development). We suppose
that single MSDN subscription will allow us free installation of Windows 2012 Standard edition on 3 servers, SQL server developers edition on 2 servers and Sharepoint server.
We have 8 developers which will connect to 4 windows server 2012 boxes(with 2 concurrent connections). We suppose we will need 4 windows 2012 server licenses and 8 SQL server developers edition licenses.
Please can someone guide that these assumptions are good and we can go in this way.

    DigitalCaptain,
Really glad you're considering purchasing an MSDN Subscriptions, but you have to be careful as your assumptions are incorrect.  The MSDN Subscription licensing is per user
only.  This means you need to purchase an MSDN Subscription for each user of any systems running MSDN-acquired Software.  The details of the MSDN Subscription license start here: https://msdn.microsoft.com/subscriptions/cc150618.aspx.
If you have 8 developers connecting to a server or servers that leverage MSDN Subscriptions software, then you'll need 8 MSDN Subscriptions.   The good news is, though, that all of the software that you mention in your list is included in MSDN Subscriptions,
so those items are all "free with MSDN"
Let me know if you have any questions!

  • Error trying to renew existing MSDN subscription

I have been trying to renew my MSDN subscription for the last 2 weeks. I get the error as shown in the image below.
I have emailed MSDN support (Australia/NZ) and they have not resolved this issue and I now haven't heard back from them for over a week. Can anyone else help. I have tried various browsers and PC's, but the same error always appears.
I have been an MSDN subscriber for over 10 years and have not had this problem before. What should be a simple process to renew an existing subscription has now taken me many hours of trying to unsuccessfully resolve this.
    Ross.

    Ross,
I've been told that we've tried to get you on the phone, but you weren't available to answer, and that you should be seeing an email very shortly if its not there already.
Can you let me know if you see those things? and also what times of day are best to reach out?  We're probably in different timezones, so please let me know what timezone you're in as well.

  • TFS and Expired MSDN Subscription

    Hi,
When you purchase Visual Studio with MSDN, you get a TFS cal.
When your MSDN subscription expires, you have a perpetual license for the software you downloaded from MSDN.
    My question is:
Does the TFS cal require an active MSDN subscription to be valid or does it fall under the "perpetual licensing" and the user can keep connecting to TFS with their Visual Studio?
    Thanks,
    Valéry Raulet

  • My MSDN subscription converted to EA

    Hi,
I had a msdn subscription with registered mail id '[email protected]', recently in our company got Enterprise Account and my email id '[email protected]' added in the EA portal as Account administrator.
When I logged in the EA portal using my email id, my msdn subscription has been listed in the EA portal with information as it is converted to EA.
So I understand that, my msdn subscription has been converted to EA, so that I may not enjoy the benefit of monthly creditable amount. So can you please provide me steps to do for remove msdn subscription from my EA account and mapped to another microsoft
    account.
    Thanks,
    Ansar

    Hi,
You can change the Microsoft account associated with your subscription directly from the My account page by following these steps:
    Choose Change Microsoft Account.
Choose a temporary passphrase and select Continue.
Login with your new Microsoft account.
Enter your temporary passphrase and select Finish.
After completing these steps, you will be able to access your subscription using the Microsoft account entered in step 3. If you cancel at any point before completing step 4, your Microsoft account will remain unchanged.
Note : This update will not cascade across MSDN benefits you previously activated, such as Microsoft Azure and Developer Accounts.  You’ll need to separately update the Microsoft account you use with those benefits or continue to use
the original Microsoft account associated with the benefit. Contact the support resources in the table above for further information.
If you have multiple subscriptions associated with your Microsoft account, you’ll need to follow the steps above for each subscription you want to change by selecting it from the My Subscriptions menu on My Account.
To manage your Microsoft account, including password changes, please visit:
    http://www.microsoft.com/account.
    Hope this helps !

  • Msdn subscription

Dear Sir, How can you please subscribe MS D.N for me ? I want to be a part of your team, I have to work with you as a team member. It would be my professional growth while working with you.

I'm not sure what you mean by subscribing to MSDN. Microsoft sells 12-month MSDN subscriptions which include development tools and large numbers of other Microsoft products. Prices range from just less than $1,000 per year to well over $10,000 per year.
    Details at http://www.visualstudio.com/products/how-to-buy-vs.
If you just mean you want to post in these forums, all you need for that is a username (which you already have) and there is no cost.
