Modify Crystal financial statements in 8.81
I've been asked to modify the Crystal P&L. I was shocked to see that it doesn't even reference OACT in the Field Explorer. Almost all the fields are PLD__Items. If I try to browse the field data, Crystal goes looking for an xml file.
Has anyone ever modified Crystal financial reports? How do you get started?Hi,
This is converted from PLD. You need create from scratch if you want to modify it.
Thanks,

Mobile Field Service Laptop - Modify local client pages
Has anyone successfully modified the pages on the local client for Mobile Field Service / Laptop. We are wanting to hide some functions from the field service rep (I.e. Create SR) and change some default values in drop down lists.
We can make the changes to the .jsp pretty easily, but are unable to "push" the changes to the client.
Anyone with ideas / experience?Hi,
This metalink note should help you :

Modified Security roles summary report
Just curious if anyone has modified the Security roles summary report to include the individual permissions object class. So for some permissioned userid or group that has the canned role Remote Tools Operator, the report would also show that Collection
has Control AMT = Yes, Read = Yes, Read Resource = Yes, and Remote Control = Yes.
Report Builder and I are not friends yet.I'm cleaning up old post, did you figure this out, If so how?

Windows XPHi Matt,
You are not alone. Are you trying to load itunes 7.0.1? I updated to that last weekend and now my ipod has disappeared from my computer and Quicktime won't play. Tech support chat had me uninstall and reinstall about 4 times, no luck. I truly believe Apple has a problem with this version, I see many, many other on these discussion groups with same problem as yours and mine. I called Apple store last night and they told me yes, some are having problems. They told me to bring in my computer! What a joke, but I may just do it so they can see. Good luck, wish I could give you some advise other than it's not your fault! -
RAM not showing up in system properties
I have 3GB installed on my OLD Windows XP
I have noticed lately that when I checked my System Properties it only says 2GB.
But HWINFO32 shows 3GB
I ran memtest86 to see if my ram was failing but it passed.
Any ideas on why it only shows 2GB.
I have an Nvidia 9800 1024MB graphics card if for some reason that is subtracting from my total.
Thanks: GLennI have saved the DXDIAG file and uploaded it.
Does anyone think I should replace the CMOS battery ?
I have not had any problems with my time not working or it turning off and no warnings ?
Also, I have ordered 4 new 1GB Ram sticks so they are all the same speed.
My 2 512's are the slowest and the new ones will be faster then the 2 1GB ones I have there now.
I will pick up a can of air and clean out the unit too since its been over a year since I dusted it off.
Thanks: GLenn
I will paste the info below too.

Serious performance issues and no sound???
I just purchased a PM8M-V VIA P4M800 + VT8237 Chipset Basedd motherboard, for the primary reason that my EVGA GeForce 6600 GT 128MB video card was having random artifacts popping up all over the screen. My problem is my performance is very laggy (2 FPS in Battlefield 2...version 1.1.2554-356.0, lowest video quality settings, tried it at both 1024x768 and 800x600 and I've messed around with the desktop resolution); I opened up the task manager during battlefield 2 and it showed 100% PC usage, which never went down during the game. I set the video card AGP apeture size to 256 MB which helped the performance a tad. Also, the video swap memory I set to the lowest possible in the BIOS. Drivers for both the new mother board and the EVGA card are installed up to date. I ran Norton and Adaware, my comp is clean, and I also ran disk defrag. I haven't done disk cleanup, ETC but I figured something that small couldn't effect performance that bad. I saw something in the BIOS about changing the AGP Voltage, not sure if I should screw with this setting
My second problem is I have no sound. My sound is a built in card and it reads, verbatum (from the Motherboard manual)
AC97 link controller integrated in VT8237R
Realtel ALC655 6-Channel Software audio codec
- Compliant with AC97 v2.2 spec
Again, the drivers are all up-to-date on the sound, as well
Here again are my PC stats
MSI PM8M-V motherboard
VIA P4M800 + VT8237 Chipset Based
Intel 2.0 GHZ Processor
1 gig RAM
EVGA GeForce 6600GT 128MB video
40 GB hardrive which isn't full
Upgraded power supply to handle all of the hardware
The EVGA card isn't the problem; I'm positive of that because I already returned it to newegg.com and they sent me a new one that had the same problem. Any other suggestions? Again, performance is horrible and I have no sound, even with updated drivers
please, reply to this post, or email me a solution at [email protected]. I'm desperate to use my $400 in computer stuff I bought
If you want, I can email you the dxdiag.txt file, I've heard that can help greatly to see that info...dxdiag.txt part 2

I need to extract Recipient Email Addresses - is it impossible?
Hi I spent way too much time tonight trying to solve this problem, I hope someone brilliant can help.
I have a web store, and am CC'd on the receipts sent to my customers. So I have accumulated a large mailbox full of emails addressed to recipients other than myself.
I now need to extract those recipient email addresses into a .txt file.
Through my travels I discovered the simple script below. It's awesome except that it only works for sender addresses! When I try to tweak the code to extract recipient addresses it gives me an error.
Can anyone either modify this code, or point me in the right direction?
I just can't believe this should be so hard! (And it probably isn't except for me.)
Thanks.
tell application "Mail"
set selectionMessage to selection -- just select the first message in the folder
set thisMessage to item 1 of selectionMessage
set theseMessages to (every message in (mailbox of thisMessage))
repeat with eachMessage in theseMessages
set theFrom to (extract address from sender of eachMessage)
do shell script "echo " & quoted form of theFrom & return & " >> ~/documents/extracted.txt"
end repeat
end tell
------------------Nice! Austin Kinsella1 your script works well but in some cases return this:
<Undisclosed-Recipient:;@studio.com>
I think this mail was sended with multiple addresses.
Try this one, I made some little changes.
Good Luck!

Overriding DPI of images when displaying them in WPF
Posting following because it might help someone else. It took me quite
while to figure this one out.
I started learning C# and WPF recently. I hadn't had so much fun since the
late 1990s when I learned Java.
But I stumbled on one major irritant working on my project, a picture viewer.
Contrary to just about every environment I've encountered, WPF insists on
taking the DPI of images into consideration when displaying them. What I want
is to display the images in some area of my app, pixel-for-pixel unless that
results in the picture going beyond the frame, in which case the image
needs to be scaled down so it fits. I don't want to have a larger image because
the DPI is smaller than 96, and I don't want a smaller image because the DPI
is higher than 96.
As far as I'm concerned, DPI is more often than not a useless number. Two
examples.
1) My camera arbitrarily assigns a DPI value of 72 to all pictures it takes.
But what "inches" are we talking about here? Obviously there is no answer
to that question. So it's a meaningless number.
2) If I scan a 35 mm color slide, I will probably do so at a DPI value of
something like 2400, but I'd sure want to display the resulting image much
larger. By default, WPF will show it at original size, totally useless.
The DPI here is certainly meaningful, but not as a display parameter!
I compared two images from same original (leware.net/photo/dpi.html),
one resized to a DPI of 48, the other to a DPI of 192. In a hex editor,
except for the one byte that encodes the DPI value, the two files are
identical. It's the same image, with a different DPI value, but no other
differences.
So how do I get a WPF picture viewer to display images without taking their
DPI into consideration? As every browser and viewer I know will do?
At first, I thought that I would be able to do something like:
BitmapImage img = new BitmapImage();
img.BeginInit();
img.UriSource = new Uri(somePathOrUrl);
img.DpiX = 96.0; // override
img.DpiY = 96.0;
img.EndInit();
But DpiX and DpiY are "get" only, not "set". Yet, it's just a simple number,
and changing it before WPF does anything with the image does not sound like a
big challenge (even when waiting for DownloadCompleted event). It's almost as
if the WPF designers decided that WPI was sooo important that they would never
allow anyone to modify the value...
The first approach I tried used RenderTargetBitmap (created at 96 DPI),
DrawingVisual, DrawingContext classes. Seems quite complex. It worked, but
I wouldn't call it elegant.
After much browsing (and with improving understanding), I found a better approach.
In simple terms, I set the Image's Width and Height to PixelWidth and PixelHeight
(which essentially makes the resulting DPI to be 96), and I set the Image's
MaxWidth and MaxHeight to the space available to the Image in the app, to force
scaling if the source is too large. I used Stretch=Uniform. Code fragments below.
The Image is placed in a UniformGrid container which provides the MaxWidth and
MaxHeight, and which centers the Image inside.
This approach is quite a bit more elegant, it removed nearly 100 lines of code
from the app. I still think though that it's not as simple as it could be.
I had also read about "DPI awareness", didn't really understand it, but it seems
to deal with DPI of display device, not of source images.
So two questions:
1) Is there a even easier way, esp. a way to directly modify or ignore an image's
DPI values before using it (without copying the image into some new bitmap)?
2) Barring that, is there something simpler than above?
Note that I'm fine with the application being otherwise DPI aware (fonts,
buttons, &c).
Thanks
WPF code fragments of the trivial application I used to fine-tune the second
approach. The two images are 160x100 pixels (but any pair of images smaller
than the display will do the trick), one at DPI 48, one at DPI 192, and named
IMG_6726s48.jpg and IMG_6726s192.jpg. The both show at the same size, as I
wanted.
To see the original problem as I experienced it, set Stretch=None and comment
out the two pairs of lines that set image.Width and image.Height.

image.MaxHeight = grid.ActualHeight;
bool shifted = Keyboard.IsKeyDown(Key.LeftShift) || Keyboard.IsKeyDown(Key.RightShift);
if (shifted) // shift-click to toggle Stretch between Uniform and None
if (image.Stretch == Stretch.None) image.Stretch = Stretch.Uniform;

image.Stretch = Stretch.None;
lpvMessage.Text = "grid.ActualSize=" + grid.ActualWidth + "x" + grid.ActualHeight +
" image.ActualSize=" + image.ActualWidth + "x" + image.ActualHeight +
" isrc.PixelSize=" + isrc.PixelWidth + "x" + isrc.PixelHeight +
" image.Stretch->" + ((image.Stretch == Stretch.None) ? "None" : "Uniform");
private void gridSizeChanges(object sender, SizeChangedEventArgs e)
BitmapImage isrc = image.Source as BitmapImage;
image.Width = isrc.PixelWidth; // "ignores" DPI (redundant here
image.Height = isrc.PixelHeight;
image.MaxWidth = grid.ActualWidth; // prevents scaling to larger than 1:1
image.MaxHeight = grid.ActualHeight;
lpvMessage.Text = "grid.ActualSize=" + grid.ActualWidth + "x" + grid.ActualHeight +
" image.ActualSize=" + image.ActualWidth + "x" + image.ActualHeight +
" isrc.PixelSize=" + isrc.PixelWidth + "x" + isrc.PixelHeight +
" image.Stretch->" + ((image.Stretch == Stretch.None) ? "None" : "Uniform");
private void buttonClick(object sender, RoutedEventArgs e)
Button b = sender as Button;
string dpi = b.Content as string;
changeImage(dpi);Being able to ignore DPI is all I'm asking for, and what I've always done for decades
If the objective is to fill the Window, then yes, it's simple, as the following example of a thumbnail image shows:
<Grid>
<Image Source="http://leware.net/temper/42fp.jpg"/>
</Grid>
Result below. DPI doesn't matter, pixel sizes don't matter, the source fills the Image control, while respecting the proportions.
But I don't want the image to fill the space available if it doesn't have enough pixels, it looks fuzzy and I don't like that.
So I add Stretch=None to the Image control, and it solves my problem, the image is shown at a size that corresponds to its pixel size (63x87), centered.
<Grid>
<Image Source="http://leware.net/temper/42fp.jpg" Stretch="None"/>
</Grid>
The above two XAML fragments give the following results:
The second is what I want. So Stretch=None, unless the image is larger than display area, in which case Stretch=Uniform.
Now I try my two test images, also with Stretch=None because they are smaller than display area.
These two images are both 160x100 pixels, and, when compared in a hex editor, differ
only in the couple of bytes that store the DPI value (0x0030 vs 0x00c0),
all the rest is the same.
<Grid>
<Image Source="http://leware.net/photo/IMG_6726s48.jpg" Stretch="None"/>
</Grid>
and
<Grid>
<Image Source="http://leware.net/photo/IMG_6726s192.jpg" Stretch="None"/>
</Grid>
Here's what I see:
DPI obviously does matter here, much to my surprise. WPF's behavior was unexpected. That was my original problem.
The DPI 48 image is enlarged by a factor of 2, the 192 DPI image is reduced by a factor of 2. What I want is in between, and the same for both images, a display based only on pixel sizes, like most browsers and picture viewers do.
In other words, I want one image pixel to be one display pixel, downsized to fit if the image is too large, but never enlarged beyond 1:1 to fill the available space.
I had a hard time figuring out how to get those two small images to show identically.
I finally got what I wanted with the solution at the top of this thread (overriding size of Image control instead of DPI). I'm sharing because it might help someone else.
Is there a better way to handle this when the DPI is arbitrary? Isn't there a way to just tell WPF to ignore images' DPI values or simply override it (force an image's DPI to 96)?
Quite possibly I'm trying to do something which does not quite fit in the philosophy of WPF. Maybe I'm closer now, I'm still learning (this discussion is helping).
I won't be surprised if my application misbehaves when the DPI of the display is not 96. Not a concern for now. -
OIM 9.1.0.1 Self Registration
I'm having issues modifying the Self Registration process in OIM 9.1.0.1. I have added an adapter to OIM that generates the userid for users automatically. Then I "hide" the userid field in the Self Registration form because the userid generator will create one for them.
At first it worked fine, but problems arose when I added a password policy. The Self Registration fails no matter what password I enter in the Self Registration form. If I add the userid field back to the Self Registration form and fill in it, then I don't get the password policy error. Has anyone else modified the Self Registration form so users can't enter the userid themselves?First, do a search for .ear files as well, that's where the xellerate app is going to be, not in a war file.
Weblogic should have 2 apps deployed: Nexaweb and Xellerate and those apps' files will be in
xellerate/OIMApplications/
That folder has : WLNexaweb.ear and WLXerateFull.ear for me.
If those don't exist, you can try the patch script, which will recompile and redeploy:
switch to xellerate/setup/
run ./patch_weblogic.sh [weblogicpassword] [oimdbpassword] (i think)
You can find detailed instructions on the patch script if u google it, search the install docs, or specifically where I read about it, in ANY of the upgrade patches, such as 9102 upgrade or BP11upgrade, etc... those docs have a section for what to do when the patching fails and they tell you to delete some files (precompile, etc..) and run the patch script again. I've done this a few times and it's worked for me.
Hope this helps

Create an Object in Logical standby database in Oracle 10G
Hi,
I have logical standby database in oracle 10g R2 for reporting purpose.Now i want to create procedure in logical standby which is use to create new temp table in logical standby and contained data generated from select operation on existing table.
Can i create a new user in logical standby database,add new tablespace in logical standby which can insert,update and delete data in standby database base table?
kindly provide me the steps to implement all this.What will be effect if i set guard_Status in v$database is NONE in logical standby?
Thanks,
Shital PatelHi Shital,
Guard_status protects the data from being changed.
ALL- By default it is not possible for a non-privileged user to modify data on a data guard SQL apply database. This is because the database guard is automatically set to ALL.
With this level of security, only SYS user can modify the data.
STANDBY- When you set this level of security, users are able to modify data that is not maintained by the Logical apply engine.
NONE permits any users to access the standby database as long as they have correct privileges. This is the normal security for all data in the database.
You can change the guard status value from ALL to NONE in order to allow non-privileged users to modify data and Yes you can create user and extra tablespace in logical standby database..this is what the one of advantage of using Logical standby database.
SQL> ALTER DATABASE GUARD NONE;

SOAP Receiver Adapter - Dynamic URL
Has anyone tried modifying SOAP URL dynamically using UDF in the mapping?. I searched Forum and couldn't get right answer. Does it work with Adapter Specific settings and variable transport binding? Please donot post links to other posts unless it got an answer or atleast close to being answered. We are on PI7.0. Thanks
Hi,
I have similar situation. My target URL lookslike this
http://devlsales.test.com:8000/soap/services/AdapterService which is a working right now.
With Variable transport binding ( TServerLocation ), Can I change http://devlsales.test.com from above URL to
http://devlprofits.test.com and remaining text same resulting
http://devlprofits.test.com:8000/soap/services/AdapterService by using UDFs.
Thanks
