MSE added to WCS, cannot assign services to controller
I have a 30 day trial license of WCS and have added my WLC controller and APs.
I installed the new MSE virtual appliance and added it to the WCS, it shows up fine however I see no services.
When I SSH to the MSE and do a /etc/init.d/msed status I see that the CAS is up and running!
However when I try to synchronize services and add mobility services to a controller CAS is greyed out and won't let me check it
Where should I go from here?
Hello Pavel,
I can provide some background for what you've faced - it's on my blog to-do list, but hasn't come out yet to have helped you.
There was a change in the internals of User-UserGroup relationship handling between XI Release 2 and XI 3.x.
Previously, the relationship was exposed via the SI_GROUP_MEMBERS property for the UserGroup InfoObject, tied to the Users property in BIPlatform Web Services.
Now, the SI_GROUP_MEMBERS is read-only, listing all the members, but trying to change the value using getUsers() is ignored.
New properties (all properties named SI_ENT_* for both User and UserGroup, check the Query Builder for their names) have been defined for User and UserGroup InfoObjects, specifically for Enterprise authentication UserGroups. This is to separate the handling of Enterprise UserGroups from those created for third-party authentication UserGroups (such as Windows AD user groups), such that you can add/remove memberships only for Enterprise UserGroups.
The Enterprise SDKs have been modified internally to make this change invisible when migrating from XI Release 2 -> XI 3.x.
However, since the BIPlatform Web Services work more directly with the InfoObject properties (via the BIAR API), it exposes the SI_ENT_* properties explicitly.
The gist is that, to affect User-UserGroup memberships, you have to use the getEnt*() methods for either User or UserGroup.
Sincerely,
Ted Ueda

Cannot assign operations into an RPC Service (x)
I've been running a flex application for years now, and added a couple lines of code to it and all of a sudden started getting "Cannot assign operations into an RPC Service (x)" and "Cannot assign operations into an RPC Service (y)" out of no where. I can't figure out whats happening. I even took out the code I added before it started happening and its STILL happening... what is this? its the first time I've seen it!
FYI: It appears to be happening when I try to change states: currentState = "XXX"

Good day Kiran Kandepalli and Others.
I have successfully executed the background jobs -
Full User, Role, Profile Synchronization & a
Full Batch Risk Analysis
When I run the Management Reports I receive the following error -
Error while executing the Job:Cannot assign an empty string to host variable 10.
Has anybody had this error message before?
When I check table VIRSA_CC_PRMVL, variable 10 is set to No in Nullable collumn.Hi Sahad,
Thanks for your response. I have checked the usr02 table and logs and do not see any empty fields or strings. This process worked for 5.2 but fails in 5.3. Here is the excerpt from the log for the Management Report run. It seems to fail consistenly at a certain point. If I knew what the batch job was looking for in host variable 10 I might be able to resolve the problem. It seems to fail when it starts to report on users.
Thanks.
Dan.

OpenSQLException - Cannot assign double value
Hello,
I have some table in database with field of type 'double'. I use JDBC to store data in this table and sometimes I would like to place special values in it, eg:
preparedStatement.setDouble(1, Double.MIN_VALUE);
Unfortunately I get exception like the one below.
My question is: what is the allowed range of values for type 'double' in database according to OpenSQL spec ?
Thanks!
Marcin Zduniak

... 41 moreHi,
Thank you for your replay. I didn't touch DB directly, I defined db structure through NetWeaver Dictionary perspective and table that i'm interested in is defined like the one on this screen: http://zduniak.com/tmp/sap_dictionary_double.png
So I'm looking for generic solution (SAP OpenSQL), not specific to any particular DB vendor.
Maybe there is somewhere on help.sap.com (i couldn't find unfortunately) information what is the allowed range of values for type 'double' in database according to OpenSQL spec ?
Thank,

OpenSQLException caught: Cannot assign a blank-padded string
Hi,
sometimes I get this exception, when updating a bo instance.
I didn't managed it to reproduce the error, because it is thrown in a complex background job.
Can anybody give me more information about the reason behind this?
Thanks,
Jens

I got the same exception with the following code:
stringVarible="someString"+someMethod.getValue();
here getValue returns String. But sometimes it may return null valu also.when it returns null value, the same SQL Exception will occure becuse we are trying to save a string in SQL which is blank padded.
I think your code is also having the similar problem.

Cannot Assign Archive and Retention Policies in Outlook 2010
We are having problems figuring out how we enable Archiving and Retention tags in Outlook. We have a new Exchange 2010 server with an Enterprise license key. We have run Microsoft Office professional plus 2010 on all of our clients (licensed through
our volume license service agreement). We have configured an Archive mailbox store and assigned accounts to use that store. The archive mailbox appears in the users Outlook, but they cannot assign policies to folders or items. The ribbon does not show the
option. I can see that it is configured to be part of the ribbon (when customizing the ribbon), but the option is not available to the user to actually select. I see user tags assigned to the user in Exchange, so I am at a loss as to where else to look for
the problem.
I see lots of documentation that says this is a licensing problem, but I am running the right components and think I have the right licensing. Is there a trouble shooting document or things I can check to make sure I have everything the way I need it to
be?We found our own answer on this. Not sure why, but we had to use powershell to start the Managed Folder Assistant for the user name we had configured:
Start-ManagedFolderAssistant -identity <username>
My guess is that if we had waited long enough this would have resolved itself. -

Cannot assign an empty string to a parameter with JDBC type VARCHAR
Hi,
I am seeing the aforementioned error in the logs. I am guessing its happening whenever I am starting an agent instance in PCo. Can somebody explain whats going on?

Management Report - Cannot assign an empty string to host variable 10
We ran a Management Report for the first time after completing the User/Role/Profile Full Sync and the user/Role/Profile Batch Risk Analysis. The job failed with the following error:
Oct 16, 2008 12:13:29 PM com.virsa.cc.xsys.bg.BatchRiskAnalysis runBkgMgmReport
WARNING: Exception in Management Report Job: Cannot assign an empty string to host variable 10.
com.sap.sql.log.OpenSQLException: Cannot assign an empty string to host variable 10.
We are on GRC 5.3 support pack 4. Has anybody encountered this error? What does host variable 10 refer to?I checked our USOBT_C table and we have a lot of empty values. If this is allowed to be empty in SAP and this is the table that is uploaded into CC, why would all the fields in CC tables then be defined as NOT NULL? We suspect that since we had uploaded USOBT_C under 5.2 and if this had been an issue before, it may have been corrected when we upgraded to 5.3 but then the old data is still in our system. Is there an easy way to get around or correct this?
Thanks. -
Error while executing the Job:Cannot assign NULL to host variable 1
Hello!
I have the following issue:
Error while executing the Job:Cannot assign NULL to host variable 1. setNull() can only be used if the corresponding column is nullable. The statement is "INSERT INTO "VIRSA_... (see log for details)
Note 1362138 - Rule generation - null pointer exception virsa_cc_rtmap doesn't me. After uploading files of ZCC_DOWNLOAD_SAPOBJ and ZCC_DOWNLOAD_DESC I got the same problem during job running...
How can I find out where is the problem?Hi
That looks like your fields are disabled but they could still be causing the problem edited ( nah - talking rubbish as you've put dummy " " in there) edited - the 'null' error caused many background jobs to fail but, once we had the evidence to show the space (somebody had pressed enter instead of delete/backspace to clear the entry) it stopped the problem - just a bit of learning on the job which we all go through for the GRC chaps in KL.
A " " would be valid but a (I know you can't see it but it's there wouldn't be )
edited. When you did an edit/replace did it say it had replaced anything please?edited
The word doc option does sound good!
Cheers

5. Click on Close. Integration Scenario Configurator window opened.
6. When Selected " Assign Services" I am not finding the Integration Process assigned to the roles: Senders, IP and Receivers.
Please help me to find the step how to replicate the IP in the configurator window of Assign Services to Applocation Components.
Regards,
Venkat Ramana K.Yes,
Created Integration Scenario with Integration Process assigned in IR.
ALso created the actions for Senders, IP and Receiver.
Configured the Integration Scenario with Senders, Integration Process and Receiver.
Now in ID,
Assigned Business Sytems, created the CCs

After inporting IS... The window comes with the Senders, IP and Receivers Actions to configure.

Problem while assigning service activity to WBS
when i assign service activity to WBS element without filling any fields (like Purchase groupand Material group) it is going straight to Service Specifications.
if we fill the service specifications and save the project we can save the project with out any errors
i require entry of PurchaseGroup and Material Group is mandatory
and then system should go to Service specifications
Please adviceHi,
Just check in Network profile, on Activity tab (TC: OPUU). You must have maintained required details like Material group, Purchasing group etc in Service activity section. Whenever you create a service activity these values get defaulted in activty. Let me know if it solves your problem.
Reward points if helpful.

Any help would be appreciatedTry to reduce the tcp wait time to 1 minute.
#ndd -set /dev/tcp tcp_time_wait_interval 60000
This setting do not survive a reboot. Tune the paramter to the value which works fine for you. Create a script with the correct setting and add it to rc scripts directory.
