MSI 270X Gaming 2G

Hello dear forum users!
My problem is screen flickering in UEFI mode. This card has a BIOS/UEFI switch and the BIOS part have been updated so it doesnt do flickering, but im using ultra fast boot, so I need my UEFI updated as well. LiveUpdate tells the BIOS (uefi part) is up to date and I cant update it.
BIOS version 015.040.000.000.002887
Latest driver
Win 8.1
Please tell me a solution, or I'm goin to return the card. Thank you!

Use the attached.
Decompress the attached .rar archive with Winrar: http://www.rarlab.com/download.htm
Create a bootable usb stick (https://forum-en.msi.com/index.php?topic=165175.0).
Then unpack the previously provided archive (103.rar) and put the included file (TV303MH.103) on that stick.
Rename TV303MH.103 to 103.rom. Put the atiflash.exe also included in the archive provided on the USB stick too. Now boot from the stick.
Type atiflash -p -f -noaper 0 103.rom [ENTER] and let it flash the vbios.

  • MSI 270X Gaming troubles!(black screen on boot/Fan speed on max)

Hello. I bought a brand new videocard - MSI 270X Gaming. But I got troubles with the computer boot. I start the computer, i got the greenting sound of Windows 7(everything's work), but i don't have anything on the screen - pitch black! And the fan speed is max. That's it!!! In order to make it work, I'm suppose to unplug the card from the PCI-e slot and put in back in. When i do this, it work fine... until the next time I have to turn on my computer. Again the same story. Only removing and putting back the card in the PCI slot works. I updated my MB Bios to latest ver. - don't work. Clear CMOS - don't work.
To make sure the problem is in the card, not in the PC, i'v putted another videocard and it's working nice
So guys if you have any ideas how to make this card work fine, please tell me. My other option is to return it to the store!

OK, didin't do that. If it not removing my warranty, tell me how to do it?! Please!

  • MSI 270x Gaming tf - one fan not always start

    Hi,
i bought recently MSI 270x gaming and mine problem was high temperatures. I discovered that one of the fan doesnt work (it look like he had too less voltage to start). I touch him gently and he start work fine for few days (shut down pc for night). Sadly yesterday he wont start again on turn pc (it look like turn power up -> both fans start rotate few times, they stop and next they go on little higher rpm - this is moment when one of fans have troubles).
Fan look really fine, doesnt have any resistance to rotate when you touch him, its look more like problem with control from voltage system.
Its possible to change video card bios in way to give more power to fans on start (i think this will solve problem with not starting fan).
    Here is mine vbios h.ttp://www.filedropper.com/pitcairn

There have been several issues reported about fans on this card model. Seems a batch of this are simply bad. Contact MSI about it or contact reseller for rma. >>How to contact MSI.<<

  • [BIOS REQUEST] MSI 270X Hawk 2GB

Hi! I have a problem with a newly purchased MSI 270X Hawk 2GB. I have tried it in the following PCs:
    PC 1
    Main Board: Asrock Z68 Extreme3 Gen3
    Bios Version: 2.30 (newest)
Video Card: MSI 270X Hawk 2GB
    PSU: FSP ATX-400PNF
    12v rail Rating of listed PSU: 12V1: 18A, 12V2: 18A
    CPU: Intel Core i5-2500K 3.3GHz
    Memory: 2 x KINGSTON 8GB HyperX XMP Blu DDR3 1600MHz CL9 [KHX1600C9D3B1K2/8GX]
SSD: Samsung 830 64GB (Tried with a Samsung HD502HJ HDD too, on a fresh Windows 7 install, same results)
CPU COOLER: Cooler Master Hyper TX2
    OC: No
Operating System: Windows 7 Ultimate SP1 64 bit
    PC 2
    Main Board: Gigabyte G41M-ES2L
    Bios Version: F3
Video Card: MSI 270X Hawk 2GB
    PSU: FSP ATX-350PNF
    12v rail Rating of listed PSU: 12V1: 18A, 12V2: 16A
    CPU: Intel Pentium E5300 2.6GHz
    Memory: 2 x 2GB Kingmax DDR2 1066MHz [KLEE88F-B8NU6]
    SSD/ HDD: Samsung HD321KJ
    CPU COOLER: stock
    OC: No
Operating System: Windows 7 Home Premium SP1 64 bit
    GPU S/N: 602-V303-02SB1312000115
It works with the default windows driver in both PCs, but when the AMD driver is installed it fails after the windows welcome screen. Sometimes the screen turns blue, sometimes black/grey, and sometimes there are blue squares in lines on the screen and the PC freezes up. To get it to work again I have to boot into safe mode and remove the driver with Display Driver Uninstaller, since the normal uninstaller doesnt work in safe mode.
    Drivers I tried:
    13-12_win7_win8_64_dd_ccc_whql
    amd_catalyst_14.1_betav1.6
MSI Graphics Driver (both from the CD and the website)
Tried with both BIOS modes. Tried in both PCI-E slots in the asrock board. The 6 pin power connectors are split between the two rails.
I also have an MSI 270X Gaming 2GB, and it works in both PCs without issues. The previous owner updated the BIOS on that one.
I know that the PSUs are far from optimal, but they had no problems with the 270X Gaming on full load or my previous GTX275, even when I overclocked the CPU and had 4/5 hard drives in there. The PSU upgrade (XFX Pro 850W) is on its way, but it is still around a week or more until it arrives.
    Here is the current bios:

I would like to try flashing the newest bios to see if it helps.

  • MSI Radeon R9 270X GAMING 4GB and GOP UEFI vBios Flash?

I'm thinking about getting a MSI Radeon R9 270X GAMING 4GB for my HTPC since it's kind of shorter and was wondering if MSI provides a GOP UEFI flash for it or if it's capable of doing so?
    Thank you.

the card has 2 VBIOS's and some have one that is Legacy and another that is GOP already (others have a Legacy and a LN2) so its a 50/50 if it has it out the box!
if it doesn't there will probably be one available as the Rx - 2xx have been around a while now!

No, your vbios is not too old. It is the latest UEFI vbios (TV303MH.102).

  • R9 270X Gaming 2G (V303) – AMD and MSI GPU Application and Control suites

    R9 270X Gaming 2G S/N 602-V303-13SB1312109829-398.
Now I got the following applications running all at the same time and I think it may be unnecessary to run all of them. I think some of them does the same thing really.
    - MSI Afterburner
    - RivaTuner
    - VGA Boost
    - AMD Catalyst Control Center
And sometimes I run AMD Game Evolved and MSI GamingApp as well.
What is your opinion on the different applications that runs to control and modify your GPU settings, what is really needed and what should be avoided is any.
In my case I like MSI Afterburner as it is easy to set the exact overclocking setting I find most stable and RivaTuner is great for in-game monitoring and game video recording. I am not sure what VGA Boost does, but it sound cool so I am running it too. AMD Catalyst Control Center seems unnecessary to me, but I am running it, because perhaps it should. Very confused, I am.

    @Nick
    Thank you for your reply
You said ” I use EVGA's tool (pretty much the same as MSI afterburner), nvidia's control panel and GPU-Z. Nothing else to be fair.”, but do they not do the same sort of thing, EVGA’s tool and NVidia Control Panel. In my case Afterburner and AMD CCC.
That is what I do not get, why should both run at the same time, what does that help.
Sorry for my ignorance if the answer is obvious. I just do not get it. To me, it seems like having two different email programs running and checked the same email account at the same time.
I know a lot of people are doing the same as you mentioned, but why please tell me why

Yeah, you provided the wrong S/N... It IS 602-V303-03SB and not 602-V303-02SB as you said, no wonder the confusion (and although I already asked..). Hence you have a regular Gaming and the provided vbios is definitely correct. If there is a switch on the card it is to switch between legacy and UEFI/GOP vbios (no middle position).

  • Stuttering With MSI R9 270x Gaming 2G (single GPU)

    Hello
I have just bought an MSI R9 270x Gaming 2G and I get this stuttering when I play Battlefield 4 and Call Of Duty Ghosts when my fps is 40 to 60. The graphics run smoothly for a few seconds and then there is a few stutters and then it runs smoothly again for a few seconds and then stutter and so on all the time.
I have updated my vga bios and motherboard bios and I have tried both the newest drivers and some older ones and it is the same.
Does anyone else have this problem and does anyone have a solution?
    Thanks
    Phazer1980

What version? On AMS's site there is only 13.11 beta and I have the 13.12 non-beta. Then there is the 13.30 driver, but does that work with R9 cards?

  • All MSI R9 270x gaming 2g are corrupt! NEED CALL BACK FROM MSI!

    Yea!
I got a BAD MSI R9 270x 2g gaming card.. I have switch it for a new one same model many times and still have that artifact problem I have REINSTALL MY PC 10X with windows 8.1 64bit (maybe this video card is not working with windows 8.1 64bit...)
And don't say the standard apology "its your power supply" thats inpossible I have an Enermax Revolution87+ ERV750AWT-G and I tried on an other PC and still the same ISSUE with the last 14.4 driver and the old MSI DRIVER 13 MY PC work with I7 4770K (not OC yet) O yea I have only 1 GPU and not in CrossFIRE!
And yea there is no new Vbios available... And AMD is in SLAX MODE with making a NEW DRIVER!
So HOW TO FIX THIS PROBLEM ?? I can't switch my video card in store everytime they will think ?? AGAIN! WITH THE SAME PROBLEM!?
And you know I'm not the only person that is angry on MSI with this corrupt VIDEO CARD MODEL!
Maybe (you MSI )need to ask all MSI R9 270x gaming 2g (With Serial number XXXXXXXX)back from costummers and give us a new one without PROBLEMS for free!
I WILL REALY BURN MY VIDEO CARD WITH FIRE! AND BUY NEVER A MSI AGAIN! If there is no solution for this corruption..

This is a USER to USER forum and no one from MSI is here so you will get no reply from them by posting on this forum >>How to contact MSI.<<
if you want someone to help you please supply us a list of all the parts your using please! (if you have had Multiple cards and all are showing artefacts something else is going wrong could be RAM, Driver (13.12 is usually the most stable as the 14.xx versions have some Bad bugs in them) or a Faulty PSU (if its not the RAM or Drivers then its usually that))
Also between installing drivers please wipe out the old ones completely using this >>Driver Fusion<< in safe mode to clean out any fragments the normal AMD un-installer leaves behind like Regestery keys and Profiles ect!
so please follow this >>Posting Guide<< and give us a list of the parts your using please!

    which PSU should i buy?
If you want to try another psu any Corsair single rail psu from 550W and above would be fine. Recommended is Corsair VS Series VS650. Quite cheap but plenty of power for your system. It offers 50A on a single +12v rail.
