MSI 560 TI

Hello Recently I have been experiencing crashes while playing games. I experience some serious graphical glitches during and after this crash with purple and green lines. After the crash I have several issues that do not resolve unless I reboot my pc. It seems like any application that uses my GPU slightly does not wane start anymore and crashes as soon as it pops up (like Google chrome). Some other applications like windows media player do start but there graphically messed up. Game in general refuse to start and all crash immediately. I have been trying to solve this myself for more then a week now without any success. thank you in advance for your assistance.
Please ask me for whatever additional information you need.

hi, i have just bought the 560 ti hawk and installed it, please can anyone tell me the voltage setting as i have had the graphics freeze on me and two comp shutdowns, the defalt for the voltage is set at 1050 is this corect as i am assured the msi 560 twin frozer 2 that runs very close to the same spec is set to around 950............ thank you.

Each card is running with own different voltage. The card should works fine with his default voltage.
If you have some troubles, read >>Posting Guide<< and provide full system specs.

So I built this Computer going on two weeks ago or so and after putting everything together and installing all the software the system ran fine for about 12 hours (not concurently). After that time I came hone started everything up and about an hour and half after starting I had a driver failure issue and it attempted to recover. Did this about 3 more times in the matter of about ten minutes before the screen went black and attempted to restart. Upon restating after getting past the bios splash screen when the raid screen came up there were $ signs all over the screen where there wasn't any text. Upon reaching the windows splash screen it essentially looked like someone had punched an LCD as the colors looked like they were running and mixing together as well as all the windows text looked Dot Matrix.
When it finally reached the desktop it shot up a window saying that there was no video hardware detected. So i attempted to uninstall the drivers I had been using at the time (280.26) and try reinstalling. Did not work. $ signs were still present and splash screen still looked broken. Tried reinstalling windows from the groud up and problem persisted. Installed my old EVGA 8800 GTS 512 and problem was immediately gone. Booted fine and installed drivers fine.
Next day I figured I'd give it one more shot so I installed the 560 back in and installed drivers and it appeared to be fixed. Everything went through fine and got to the desktop. After about 2 hours the probelm reappeared.(also tried an older driver this time 275.33) According to Afterburner the temps never got above in the upper 30'sC. Reinstalled 8800gts and has been fine for the last 2 weeks. Run plenty of games with out a hitch. Stressed the system across the board and everything has been fine.
Attempted to RMA with Newegg but as I had removed the UPC for the maill in rebate they would not RMA.
Essentially I'm just looking for any input someone might have or if this is an issue that anyone else has seen before I send it in to MSI on the RMA. Bios issues perhaps? I pretty much exhausted all options as far as drivers, different PCI slots on the board, changing which DVI port the cable was pluged into etc.
    Thanks for any help

Same result. Worked for about an hour or so before failing. Guess I'll just go through with the RMA.

  • HELP - MSI 560-TI Twin Frozr II/OC Urgent

    Hello,
     I purchased an MSI-IT 560 Twin Frozr II OC 1GB DDR5 on December 19, 2011.
Yesterday February 11, 2012 I was on the computer when suddenly the graphics card started making a strange noise and even began to quit smoking just like that. I turned off the computer right not to aggravate the situation further, I removed the graphics card and saw it was with some visible damage, and that when pulled down a small component of what it was black.
She was connected properly, with the two power cables, the temperature was very good, and not have conducted any kind of overclocking.
I wanted to ask this community to help clarify what happened, if you can do something, and if the warranty covers this.
    Was taken as the photo:
Please help me, I do not know what happened, this board has only two months is very strange that happens.
    Greetings

Contact your reseller, they will either exchange the card under warranty for you, or return it to MSI for repair.
    Ok, thanks
And certainly, the store will cover the warranty?
Another thing I forgot to say but I have a UPS connected to the PC.
I've been watching, and saw that it was not just the condenser that burned, saw the circuits that are around and are also burnt and the plate where it is burned is a little swollen.
    Thanks

  • MSI 560 ti twin frozr II, replacement fan ?

So two blades from my fan was actually ripped a part by itself and my retailer since im a European customer is not taking my word for it and saying that I must have shuved something in the way off the fan and denying me an RMA. Was wondering if anyone know of any fans out there by third-party manufacturers that would fit on my 560 ti card ?
Best thing would obviously have been if it was possible to purchase originalfasn from MSI and have em shipped but I am guessing thats not an option.

An aftermarket cooling solution will be your best bet at this stage.

  • Too high voltage on MSI 560 HAWK?

Recently i used voltmeter to check the core voltage on my GTX 560-Ti Hawk and compare it with Afterburner. Default voltage in software is 1.087 V in 3D (+0 mV), voltmeter showed about 1.228 V. I tried all steps in 12-13 mV from -100 to +50 mV, higher is scared. In all cases the difference between AB and meter is about 138 mV! Is it normal? What voltage is critical? I think this is main reason why my card is too hot (max 80*C in Witcher 2). Or I used incorrect pins for measurements? When you look at V-check connectors (coolers "look down") - left is GPU pin, middle is memory pin, right is PLL, isn't it? Memory voltage and PLL weren't changing when I applied different voltage (memory was 1.590 V and PLL - 1.059 V).
Now I'm playing at 975/1950/[email protected] V in AB, but real is ~1.200 V. What should I do?
Should I install MSI APS, or it's just powersave?
I can't get an answer from some forums
    I have Chieftec APS-700C, Intel Core i5-2500k.

Hi man,  i also have a gtx560ti hawk, in my case my default  core voltage was  1037mv.   I lowered the voltage to 1000mv and increase the core to 1 Ghz and memory to 2300mhz, this is 100% stable ,  so , first ill suggest you to lower your core voltage to 1037mv and check stability,  if it's stable  , decrease the core voltage more and do some stability tests,  this  also will help with temps, in my case this undervolt reduced my temps  like 4-5° so  the fan is less noisy, althought with my core to 1Ghz ,   this card is great,  you should not have problems if you lower the voltage and even if you do some overclocking like me.

    Hi,
I recently bought a GTX 560 TI OC from MSI, with TwinFrozr II cooler and I am having the same issues regarding heat. It drove me nuts and I decided to remove the IHS. I reapplied TIM between the IHS and GPU then between the IHS and cooler but the damn thing just won't cool down (only obtained -3 degrees after doing the above). Pulled it out of the case and it barely stays under 90 on Furmark 1280x1024.
Now I have discovered this Topic and it's to late to RMA the card. Sigh....

less is more with voltage - In my experience its the voltage not the speed that increases temps.
With my spunky working card I have a 1gig over clock at 1087mV (if i need it, which I don't) and it only runs a few degrees hotter than stock.
The card and cooler are brilliant (when you get a working card  )
I have no idea what the issue is with the hot ones. Concave IHS? could be, I reapplied the TIM on my first broken one and it looked normal.
    @ gargamel
What is the Mini HDMI adapter like that came with the card?
Big and grey or small and black?
Quote from: gargamel on 07-December-11, 13:56:26
The ihs on my card was freakin concave and there was almost no contact between ihs and cooler, just a little at the edges. Maybe your ihs is concave as well?
Been running my card with an thermalright shaman directly on the core for about a month now and it works great, the heat issues is no more:)
@Olly230 (@gargamel, @wreck3r) really sry to bring this dead thread back to life but i had no other choice.... i think i got ur rma'ed card... hehe.... no i got a similar card like u did at first. meaning the same 88c+ temps running occt with case open. normal airflow but nothing great. small case so yeah. it idles around 38-40c and my room temp is around 28-30c with a normal ceiling fan. remember the case is open. i reapplied the thermal paste... msi's job was a bit messy with excess tim. twice already. 1st the pea drop method and 2nd using a credit card to do it. since the TFll heatsink base has curved grooves on it, i think that using a credit card method is more appropriate here.
the mini hdmi cable is black, 5cm from miniHDMI connector to HDMI connector or 4cm long black sturdy 'plastic' body. if the miniHDMI connector is connected horizontally, the HDMI connector at the other end is vertical [90 degree rotated clockwise]. i will upload pics later as i cant seem to find my camera anywhere and i still dont use a camera phone.  :sigh:
now i live in bangladesh and if i want to rma this product, what do i say to the retailer? cause i am sure he has no idea what rma means anyways... like do i say i want to return this product as it is getting very hot or sth....??

  • MSI 560 GTX-Ti Twin Frozer II is not recognised by Windows 7

OK, just finished building my new computer and I should say at the outset that I am not an expert!
Unfortunately, Windows 7 does not seem to recognise my MSI card. It is not present in the display adapter in the device manager and when I go to install the driver on the CD it says the graphics driver could not find compatible graphics hardware.
It seems to be seated securely. I wonder if it might be a power issue...but I've connected both 6 pin power connectors to my 620 watt power supply and the twin fans are spinning away.
Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks, Andrew

Can't switch to performance one: my MB, which is Asrock Z68 Extreme4 doesn't won't let me switch.
Performance mode = error code 62, which is= Installation of the South Bridge Runtime Services.
I upgraded BIOS on my board and now I don't have error code but only a black screen.
Still, it shouldn't matter weather it is performance on or not, my memory temperatures are like:
    - after boot: around 32
    - while playing for example Guild Wars 2 it goes up to 70 and around that magic number there is a sudden spike to 90 and it reaches 95ish
    - after turning the game off, temperature stays at 71
In order to go back to idle temperature 31 I need to turn my PC off and turn in on. If I choose reboot it stays at 71.
Contacted MSI official support, but I think it will take them a while to find a solution.
boot with silent, then within windows, switch to performance one and save the vbios,
    and upload it.

  • MSI 560 TI with subtle windows starting error

    I have this:
MSI GeForce GTX560 Ti 1 GB DDR5 2DVI/Mini HDMI PCI-Express Video Card N560GTX TI TWIN FROZR II OC
    with the 70.24.2E.00.6C Bios
Gigabyte EP45-UD3R rev 1.1 with 8 GB Memory
Cooler Master Silent Pro M - 700W 80 PLUS Bronze Power Supply with Modular Cables (RS700-AMBAD3-US) with ATX 12V v2.3. and 34 amp rail
The card performs well in general if I can make it to login.  I'm not a gamer and do not OC.
The issue is that at the end of the starting windows logo phase, the PC hangs prior to the screen going black for a second and then showing the login screen.  It just sits at with an unmoving logo.  It does not do this everytime. Often is one out of four boot failures; sometimes two or three consecutive failures.
With any NVidia driver 300.xx and up to even 310.61 (and in between), the hang is persistent on start up.  With older drivers in the 290.xx range, I get some driver crashes during use but can login and work.  Eventually I found that the 295.xx driver worked best as I had stability for a month.  Now, I am getting the hang/freeze at windows startup logo more often (but not always).  If I remove the Nvidia drivers in safe mode, I can always boot into Windows VGA.  This card is now about 20 months old.
Since I had a new drive and was thinking of Windows 8 (as if it would make this problem go away), I installed Window 7 fresh onto the new drive and found that I had the exact same problem (stuck at logo) when using Nvidia drivers.  I did this today.  I have installed the motherboard chipset drivers and have done what I can think off to troubleshoot this problem (boot logging does not catch this, startup performance analysis does not suggest anything, and not the eventlog).
My best guess is that the Nvidia Drivers are loaded and then there is a hardware fault as the drivers talk to the card.  This seems to happen just before the screen is reset for login (to the pretty blue screen).  Once logged in, it is rock stable.
I am looking for suggestions before RMAing this product.
Also, how do I get a tech to look at this problem to pre-approve the RMA?
    Thank-you.

Is it really rock stable in Windows? Try MSI Afterburner and run Kombustor out of it for some time monitoring temps: >>How to use MSI Afterburner<<

  • Msi 560 Ti TFII/OC Washed out colors with Asus ML 238H/Heat Problem

So i got a 560 Ti TFII/OC a couple of days ago and before that i was using xfx 5850 with no problems. The monitor colors and contrast were high and f*ckin lively!
Now that im using the new card the colors seems a bit washed out or  with more brightness or contrast or any other ! i tried defaulting monitor settings and changin colors in nVidia driver but non of 'em were like before. the best example is that black screens are never fully black! i mean they seem brighter and sh!t.
Also my defaul voltage for the card was 1.025 and when i ran FurMark 19.9 that day the temps were as high as 98 or so. then i got scared and i closed FurMark. Again i did some test with Kombuster and Witcher 2 and Dead Island and heat was around 80 which from what i read and saw is very high and im thinking maybe the card is faulty. now iundervoltaged it at 0.987 and the temp is about 75 in games. But in furmark it still reaches above 90:O
Anyway your help would be much appreciated. thank u all.

    Hello!
So, I've bought this videocard like half a year ago, and ever since, it's DVI ports havent worked.
I've tried it with VGA-cable and this MSI DVI adapter I got with the package.
The problem isnt in my screen NOR the cable, as it seems to work properly with this (other) computer.
    Why is that?
Sidenote; I used to use an HDMI cable (with the mini-adapter I also got with the package) but it broke because the port is pretty f'd up, as its placed on such a stupid place.

Emm, does that info matter? As I am playing with this television now, via VGA, with other computer.
